    Small size, nice and fresh

Waikiki Poke is a little neighborhood gem, sort of hidden by Benihana and in a massive WalMart parking lot. It's perpetually empty inside whenever I drop in for a late lunch. The girls are always in the back on their phones as a result, but they come out of hiding quickly to take and make my order. It's about $17 for a small poke bowl + tip. It's about the size of my outstretched hand which is a perfect amount for lunch. I think they have some pre-selected menu options but I always opt to make my own bowl. You get a choice for the base (I go with basic white rice), 2 scoops of fresh protein (I usually mix salmon and tuna), and probably about two dozen wet and dry toppings and at least a half dozen sauces to choose from. I usually have green onion, mango bits, tomato, cucumber slices, seaweed salad, sliced almonds, and their custom poke sauce. I would recommend getting sauce on the side and pouring on as much as you like, as I seem to either get too little or too much when they mix it in. Lastly, I wish they had sliced avocado instead of pre-mixed guacamole, but hey we're not all perfect right? Really digging Waikiki Poke so come on in people! There's plenty of seating and it's a quick and easy take out option as well.

I needed a quick lunch and wanted something semi-healthy so when I saw Waikiki Poke, I decided to give it a try. The staff is super friendly and greets you when you come in even if they are working on another order!! I ordered a small bowl which allows you to choose 2 proteins. I got spicy tuna and paid $1 more for yellowtail. There are several fresh vegetables to choose from to add to your bowl and 3 kinds of "salads" I got the crab. The choice of sauces is nice and there are options for those of us who like spicy but you can also have sweet or tangy and any combo. I didn't get the complimentary miso soup as I knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all, so I can't comment on that but it does come with the bowl. I can't wait to decide where my December picnic will be as this is what I'm going to take!

Salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and all the fixings :)

What a find! Delicious & affordable high quality fish, ingredients, and wide selection of toppings. Even better than on the beach in Waikiki. Delicious everything, and love the miso soup that came with the meal.

    Super easy menu to understand.

Quarantine and lack of open dining spaces has really encouraged me to catch up on old reviews lol. Gotta make space for new reviews, right? Suffice it to say, this visit you'll be reading about was pre-quarantine... I just let it sit in my drafts forever. To be honest, I'm torn between two and three stars. This was my second time in for lunch, and will probably be the last for now. My first experience was actually very enjoyable; the food was fresh, the atmosphere was very positive, and the staff were very friendly. This time, not so much. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, and we were probably one of about three couples in the restaurant. Right off the bat, we were feeling a bit put off by the vibe... a few tables were dirty, people were standing around waiting for attention, and things seemed to be VERY slow going. We got in line to order our meals but ended up waiting an awkwardly long amount of time to get through to the cash register. There were two employees behind the counter, but the young man we were being helped by made our experience pretty uncomfortable. We moved at a snail's pace through the line, and each scoop of fish or other ingredients piled into our bowls seemed very old and the exact opposite of what you'd be looking for in a poke place. After finally sitting down, my bf and I both agreed that the food seemed... off. Neither one of us enjoyed our bowls, unfortunately, and I don't think I even ended up taking more than a couple of bites. When all was said and done, I feel we paid a bit too much for a pretty poor experience. I do enjoy poke, and sincerely hope that things make a shift back to the way they were when I had the amazing experience with my friend, but I won't be back until that happens.

Tell me why they don't have edamame, crispy tempura, crispy onions, like without crispy things u might as well order some mash potato slop because it's gonna be squishy as hell. Full Disclosure: My girlfriend said she's ordered in the past and that the portions were very generous, with the fish-to-rice ratio. Well, that was then; this is now. I ordered the salmon bowl, and it was disappointing in every way. For starters, there was hardly ANY salmon at all. I don't know if this is SOP in Colorado, but I've had poke all over the country, from Sacramento, California, to New York, New York, and Saint Louis, Missouri, to Raleigh, North Carolina, and never have I ever gotten so little fish and so much rice and other ingredients in any poke bowl I've gotten before. Normally, at a poke place, my experience has been at LEAST 50% fish with rice and other ingredients, 50%. At Island Fin Poke this evening, the ratio was about 80% rice, 15% other ingredients, and I'm being generous when I say it was 5% salmon. And about that 5%: The salmon had a pinkish hue and appeared to be semi-cooked. I ate all of it because I was hungry, and doing so made me hangry--and not in a good way. As far as my girlfriend goes? She didn't finish her meal, and she HATES wasting food. Suffice it to say, I will never order from this place again. And to all of you people who gave this place a 4.8 out of 5 stars? The only taste you have is decidedly not in your mouth. Let me guess: This is the only place you've had poke before, am I right? To sum up: Ewww...
