Came in on a Friday afternoon and really enjoyed this place! Our friend recommended we come here and I can see why. I had a medium bowl with 3 proteins: shrimp, spicy tuna, and yellowtail (yellowtail is $1 extra) - Brown rice was cooked to perfection - shrimp wasn't overcooked - spicy tuna had a decent level of spice - yellowtail was fresh - sauces: spicy aioli and yuzu citrus - our server was very generous and I loved that! Spicy wasn't too spicy. The rest of the sides were also very fresh and you could tell they pay attention to their sides. After tax and tip my medium bowl was $26. That's a little pricey, but the quality was great. Just note they also charge 3% for credit cards. read more

Not sure why this place has such a low Yelp score, but I stopped in anyway and decided to roll the dice. This spot is tucked into a small strip of businesses in Broomfield. The entrance is definitely a bit hidden and somewhat hard to find, but once you step inside you're immediately greeted with smells and sights that make your mouth water. I had the Lulu poke bowl (spicy tuna, mango, fried onions, edamame, and nori), and it absolutely hit the spot! The portions are generous for the price, the fish tasted fresh, and everything was seasoned well. The only slight downside was the musubi, as I've had better elsewhere, but that's definitely not going to stop me from coming back to try more of their food. read more

It takes a lot for me to write a 1-star review, but sadly, Waikiki Poke deserves it. I walked in and it was completely empty other than the two employees. One was on his phone, and the other was completing online orders. 10 minutes later, they finally said "be with you in one second". I saw that the menu stated the "small" size included two proteins. I was initially happy about this and had high hopes. So, I ordered the small size. The employee picked up what I could only describe as a child's small size bowl. I literally repeated the size I wanted and even said "the one with 2 proteins...the one that is $16" and the employee confirmed it was what he was holding. I was dumbfounded, but continued with my order. The bowl is so small that they can't even put both proteins into it. The employee had to put my second protein into a paper boat and then smash it into the plastic bowl at the end after mixing it with his hands. The fish looked dull and gray, and the toppings all looked like they came out of a can. Tasted like it, too. This was the most tasteless poke I have ever eaten in my life. I'll be surprised if I don't get sick tomorrow after eating this. And after all that, the poke was almost $19 with tax. I didn't get any special proteins or add-ons. I'm from NY and this is pricey even by NY standards. I'll absolutely never come back and will discourage anyone else from coming here. read more

Waikiki Poke is a little neighborhood gem, sort of hidden by Benihana and in a massive WalMart parking lot. It's perpetually empty inside whenever I drop in for a late lunch. The girls are always in the back on their phones as a result, but they come out of hiding quickly to take and make my order. It's about $17 for a small poke bowl + tip. It's about the size of my outstretched hand which is a perfect amount for lunch. I think they have some pre-selected menu options but I always opt to make my own bowl. You get a choice for the base (I go with basic white rice), 2 scoops of fresh protein (I usually mix salmon and tuna), and probably about two dozen wet and dry toppings and at least a half dozen sauces to choose from. I usually have green onion, mango bits, tomato, cucumber slices, seaweed salad, sliced almonds, and their custom poke sauce. I would recommend getting sauce on the side and pouring on as much as you like, as I seem to either get too little or too much when they mix it in. Lastly, I wish they had sliced avocado instead of pre-mixed guacamole, but hey we're not all perfect right? Really digging Waikiki Poke so come on in people! I needed a quick lunch and wanted something semi-healthy so when I saw Waikiki Poke, I decided to give it a try. The staff is super friendly and greets you when you come in even if they are working on another order!! I ordered a small bowl which allows you to choose 2 proteins. I got spicy tuna and paid $1 more for yellowtail. There are several fresh vegetables to choose from to add to your bowl and 3 kinds of "salads" I got the crab. The choice of sauces is nice and there are options for those of us who like spicy but you can also have sweet or tangy and any combo. I didn't get the complimentary miso soup as I knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all, so I can't comment on that but it does come with the bowl. I was quite disappointed with this place and I'm surprised at all the good reviews... TLDR: Poor quality fish, expensive considering the quality ($18 a bowl really?), indifferent workers, ran out of basics like white rice. As we walked in, we were told they were out of white rice. Apparently they didn't have and wasn't making any more, even though it was nowhere near closing time. Other poke places I've visited had another pot ready to go when the first one runs out... I took a look at their fish selection and should have turned away then, but the Mr isn't as picky as me. We had been out running errands all day and didn't have it in us to try another place so we just ordered. I've never seen such low quality tuna and salmon before. I could also see they were running low on fish but again, they didn't bring out more. Instead, my 3 scoops of fish bowl turned in to half scoops barely equaling 2... For that price, they should do better. They also charge an extra $1 for yellow tail. This is also the first poke place I saw that had plain chicken as a protein option. The gentlemen who made our food was very indifferent and I was baffled at why he was wearing literal pajama pants at work... Will need to continue looking for some decent poke in the area. read more

This was my second time in for lunch, and will probably be the last for now. My first experience was actually very enjoyable; the food was fresh, the atmosphere was very positive, and the staff were very friendly. This time, not so much. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, and we were probably one of about three couples in the restaurant. Right off the bat, we were feeling a bit put off by the vibe... a few tables were dirty, people were standing around waiting for attention, and things seemed to be VERY slow going. We got in line to order our meals but ended up waiting an awkwardly long amount of time to get through to the cash register. There were two employees behind the counter, but the young man we were being helped by made our experience pretty uncomfortable. We moved at a snail's pace through the line, and each scoop of fish or other ingredients piled into our bowls seemed very old and the exact opposite of what you'd be looking for in a poke place. After finally sitting down, my bf and I both agreed that the food seemed... off. Neither one of us enjoyed our bowls, unfortunately, and I don't think I even ended up taking more than a couple of bites. When all was said and done, I feel we paid a bit too much for a pretty poor experience. This g?99;.place caught my eye, going in w/out any idea, type of food served. This is great, if you're counting calories and/or specific/trendy diets. I was in line, women before, "rice brown, 2 scoops" it's raw salmon cut into cubes (eww, bit much) and I love raw salmon eating sushi; VERY difficult to hear/understand; due to loudness, not recommend eating there; and, in receipt of that scooped out salmon (tofu & ---) with brown rice; then comes along line "would you like sprinkle of tempura & 2 other choices; vegetables I just asked for all of it, except spicy of having all $18/me (pricey $$$); because I got free miso soup oh and I purchased, one little ice cream (@ $3.99/ea) and to eat it right away". read more

I was staying the night one of the hotels across the highway and was looking for something to take back to the room that was not another sandwich, burger or pizza. This place hit the spot! I went with the medium bowl which got me 3 proteins. Spicy tuna (doubled up) and salmon. Mixed in with some mango, onions, seaweed and crab salads and their Waikiki sauce made this bowl one to crave again and again. One suggestion is to not wait for the end of the night. First off, they close at 8 so don't be late. Second is that they were starting to run out of items. My third choice for protein (octopus) had sold out as well as masebo topping. If the name says anything about the poke then you're spot on. No one goes to Waikiki (in Hawaii) for poke. It is overpriced and tastes alright but really is meant for the suckers that fall for the convenience for being a tourist trap. Almost same goes for this place. The evening we went they were almost out of sauce and fish. We made due, However the staple sauce I chose was not good. Just had an odd taste. I have been lucky to have been in Broomfield for business and Waikiki Poke is conveniently located near the hotel I frequent. If you have never visited a Poke restaurant (and you like sushi), you should try Poke; think of it as sushi in a bowl where you can pick all of your combinations. Step 1, select your base (white rice, brown rice or salad). Step 2, select your protein (tuna, salmon, spicy tuna, shrimp, octopus, tofu, yellow tail). Step 3, select your mix-ins (cilantro, green onions, jalapeños, masago, tofu, white onions, seaweed). Step 4, select your toppings (carrot, cucumber, edamame, mango, pineapple, red cabbage, red ginger, sweet corn, tomato, +$1 for avocado). Step 5, select your salad (crab, octopus, seaweed). Step 6, select your sauce (volcano eruption, waikiki poke, wasabi shoyu, sesame shoyu, spicy aioli, yuzu citrus). Step 7, select your dried toppings (almond, coconut flakes, dried seaweed, fried garlic, fried onions, sesame seeds, tempura flakes). There are so many unique and awesome combinations, that you will have to go back again and AGAIN! In addition to great poke, you also get a bowl of miso soup. I usually get the medium bowl for lunch (and eat the rest for dinner); the serving is HUGE, but it tastes SO good! I've been waiting for a place like Waikiki Poke to come up north, and it's finally here! FINALLY. What's even better is that the Waikiki Poke serves legit poke. I'm talking fresh and raw fish without the smokes and mirrors of being deep-fried. For those who prefer cooked fish, there are those protein options as well. The size options are determined by the number of scoops of protein. I ordered the size medium (i.e. three scoops), and I went home with about half a bowl of leftovers. The best part about the scoops option is that I could do three scoops of the same protein, two scoops of one and one scoop of another, or one scoop of three different proteins. I love the freedom of choice here! I ended up getting two scoops of salmon and one scoop of tuna for my first visit and customizing it with the regular poke sauce and the sesame shoyu, along with some green onions, masago, and white onions. I was also able to pick any and all of the veggie toppings and salads to add to my poke bowl. What?! Waikiki Poke, thank you for making it so easy to eat healthy. At the time of my first visit and this review, the business is only six days new. Servers were super friendly but seemed to still be learning their jobs, and both available high chairs had broken buckles (odd for a brand new restaurant). Pretty tasty poke place near the Interlocken/Flatirons Mall area. Several sizes to select from, I decided to go for a large because I was hungry and love to snack on poke late at night. Prices are lower than other poke places for the sizes offered. As a base I asked for half brown rice and half salad, the brown rice was perfectly cooked the salad was just romaine lettuce. The protein options were limited to tofu, tuna (non-marinated), spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp and yellowtail ($1 extra charge). I usually get the marinated tuna at poke places but I didn't think it was a big deal. the protein then gets marinated in your choice of sauce, I went for the traditional house sauce which is a soy based. Waikiki Pole really stands out in the toppings and additions department. Hot peppers, green onions, white onions, cilantro, shredded seaweed (my favorite), pineapple, fresh mango (my second favorite), masago, pickled shredded ginger, seaweed salad, octopus salad, crab salad, edamame, and a variety of dry toppings to finish off you bowl. Yes, they have the Flaming Hot Cheetos. Beside the BYO bowl, they do have 3-4 menu bowls you can order. Other cool things I noticed were a small fridge of bottled drinks at the beginning of the line, either Japanese or Korean. Among the cute half cans were orange, and cinnamon flavors. No fresh wasabi here (that I'm aware of) it comes in a small plastic container (think ketchup package that you tear open). I hadn't had red ginger before but I was def put off by it. If I lived near here, I would be a regular but it was nice to have a chance to stop in recently when I happened to be quite near and hungry. It was a very late lunch for us, about 3 pm, so the place was fairly empty. Some regulars stopped in to get food but we had the seating area inside to ourselves. The staff explained the system of ordering but we opted to get two of the Signature Bowls. I had the Lulu and my husband had the Conch. They were both excellent, very fresh, though with all the sauces and salads, a bit on the salty side for me. We did not read the Conch Bowl ingredients very well as it turn out, there is no conch in it. Lots of tasty seafood but my husband has always loved conch itself. It was very filling, a good value for fresh fish in Colorado but a bit more filling and costly than we usually do for lunch. We will certainly come back and try more bowls. Clean, fresh and tasty. I was impressed with Waikiki! I ordered one of their specialty bowls called the lu lu but you can also create your own. The setup is similar to chipotle where you pick your ingredients to make your bowl. The size of their bowls are quite large. I ordered the medium and I didn't quite finish. You pick your rice, white or brown then your seafoods such as salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, shrimp, salmon, yellow tail and they even have chicken. They have a ton of vege toppings everything from seaweed salad to crispy onion or garlic. I only wished they offered a few more signature bowls because the amount of toppings was a tad overwhelming. They were very up front about asking if I wanted to modify anything which was awesome. As for the taste, everything was extremely fresh and clean tasting. The lulu bowl had a bunch of different items in it including spicy tuna and mango which when very well together. The price was really reasonable for the portion siz and the amount of fish. I didn't see the large bowl but it's likely you could split it with someone. I'm looking for forward to going back and trying some new stuff! read more

The menu though is so clear and really easy to follow. The food: the food was pretty good. It wasn't the best poke I've ever tried, but nothing was wrong with it either. I did a small bowl with salmon, rice, masago, edamame, etc. The rice was a little odd. Spicy aioli was good, but not very spicy. The service was fine, the assembly line seemed a bit disjointed but it was the lunch hour. The weirdest thing was the small bowl was the perfect size, but they stuffed it so full I couldn't move any of it around to mix it up. Since we ate there we asked if we could have a medium or large bowl so we could mix/eat and they told us it would be an extra charge and we'd have to pay for it, and this was after we had paid for our meal and sat down. I am very amazed! This place looks underrated from the outside but I decided to give it a go after getting a 20% off coupon in my mailbox and to say the least, I'm blown away. I went for the "create your own bowl" small with 2 proteins. Chose tuna and salmon and they are very fresh. You can choose as many toppings as you want and they DO NOT charge by toppings. Instead it's by "as much as you can fit" in the bowl. And the server there definitely packed it in for me! So it's pretty exciting getting almost everything you can and want without worrying about costs. They have some high quality toppings (masago, octopus salad, seaweed salad, mango, edamame) that's all included in your price. Not to mention many options for sauces. I went with classic Waikiki poke dressing and yes - it brought back all the Hawaii poke memories. No need to travel to Hawaii for poke anymore. All meals also came with a hot miso soup. I am delighted and will def be back for more! I can't believe it took me this long to try this place out. They also have warm spam musubi and macaron ice cream that I will try out next time. read more

Update: Had to dock a star for their lack of consistent availability lately, whether 1, 2, or 3 ingredients (including essentials like lettuce!) are missing, or they're not open their advertised hours, (which, mind you, aren't great to begin with) or their delivery is turned off, I've not had the best luck eating here on the regular. -- Just great fresh food. Nothing too much to complain about aside from wishing they had numbered specials for newcomers. My first visit I wasn't sure what to get and ended up with too many flavors in the bowl and couldn't finish it because I got too full! Their rewards program is a little confusing, if you get a small with no extras you don't get any points, as it's a point per $10 spent before tax. Hours are a bit odd, they close at 8, so hopefully you're not a night owl! Besides that, this is my new favorite local restaurant!
