I went here to treat my friend for her birthday. It was an experience I've never done before. I would say almost a mixture of a pedicure and a massage. It was really relaxing and the massage was really nice. I booked the one that include two different massage areas. It was super relaxing and I liked how we got to pick the bath salt and oils that was used in our foot spa. The menu was really descriptive of the options and the benefits of each. They did a great job making sure your legs were dried after you were done so made it easier for you to go continue on your day in the city. I do think the price was a bit high for what you get as I feel like you could just pay a bit more to get a full private massage. But I can see the appeal of this for special occasions when you want to do something with friends. read more

Welp, this was sprung on me as a surprise....but ended up being a pleasant one! I ended up picking a massage that gave focus on the hands and arms...as an IT guy + pianist + gamer, needless to say this was exactly what I needed. The person performing the massage has been clearly trained and hit all the pain points where there is build up in the muscles and bones that need worked out. This was happening all the while I was in a foot soak sipping some very hot tea. Would I have ever tried it before? Honestly, no...I guess stereotypes had me locked into a mindset. I love anything in the self care area of the world and thought this would be a fantastic activity for our anniversary! Turned out, I was right. When you walk in, you're given house shoes to wear upon check in and you choose your soak. I chose Salty Beach Rose (which was not only soothing but pretty to look at), and my husband got the Signature Soothe. We also each chose two massage areas and shared a pot of Relaxing Mint Herbal Tea, (which was delicious and served with a happy anniversary sign and two Ham & Goodies lemon cookies. IYKYK). The rooms are dark with nice comfy chairs. Putting your legs into the basin of water is a little awkward, (maybe don't wear a dress), but once you're in, it's comfortable. This was a Christmas gift from our children. I wanted to love it because it's seems like such a great concept. The big bowl of water was nice at first but became uncomfortable while sitting upright in a chair. My legs kept falling asleep. There was one message therapist for both my husband and I. The head message was very minimal and the neck and shoulders were not easy for her to get to. Way too expensive for a foot soak and a "sitting back in a chair" neck message. I would have enjoyed a $30 mall chair message much more. The only people there was my husband and I but still only had one message therapist. They asked us up front if we wanted to see a beverage list. My husband wanted hot tea so we shared a pot of tea which we were charged $10. I did know the price ahead but when we went to drink it was like warm. I asked the therapist if there was any way she could heat it up and she said it was at a regulated temp and she could not. Besides being barely warm it tasted like it was poured from the foot water we were soaking in. We didn't drink the tea. I usually don't complain but it was the most I have ever spent on tea and I would have liked it better if it had been warm. Needless to say I was less than relaxed the entire time. read more

My friend and I were in town and decide to give this place a try. After reading some of the reviews, we thought it'd be good. We set up an appt the day before, so it wasn't so last minute. I just wished they've told us that we would have one therapist for the both of us. For $80, she just placed our feet in epson salt with bubbles, and had our neck and shoulders rubbed for 20 min.. Ok we just left the place. While we feel great, legs feel awesome. The water got cold quite a bit- they need heaters under the bowls. I thought the package we bought was $180 for both of us.... The total ended up being $344. Whoa. Apparently it was per person- the way it was explained to me on the phone was that that was the package for both my husband and I. They did a great job, but with the cold water, and we had to pay $10 for a mimosa.... I say go buy some epson salt, soak at home and let your loved one rub on you. Same thing- $6 for a bag of epson. A full body 90 minute deep tissue massage is way cheaper right around the corner. I reccomend if you're super wealthy and can afford this. read more

My SO surprised me with the date night package at Wake--I had been in to purchase products from them (10/10 would recommend), but it was my first time getting a service. We were so pampered the entire time we were there--they have alcohol available to purchase, and the tea and truffles were wonderful! Our soak started with a warm neck wrap, followed by a foot/leg massage and neck and shoulder massage. Our massage therapists were so nice and were able to adjust to our pressure preferences. They are happy to make conversation or let you relax quietly. Since I didn't know where we were going on our date, I had my hair down and styled. My therapist was very considerate and made sure not to get shea butter in my hair during my neck massage--she had a soft hair tie to hold it up and everything! Pro tip, they told me that if you come in wearing skinny jeans or pants that don't roll up, they have wrap skirts you can borrow! They have thought of everything. I will definitely be back for foot soaks! Also worth mentioning, I have eczema on my hands and traditionally can't use scented soap (even the hand soap from young living makes my hands break out after a couple uses). I bought the lemongrass Wake hand soap a while ago to try and after multiple weeks of use, my hands are fine. I'm not sure I can sing enough praises for this place! My friend and I walked in after a long morning of cleaning and painting. We were exhausted, but needed to bounce back for a fun night ahead. Wake was booked, minus a narrow window with some slight flexibility. The GM graciously agreed to take us back. We were given slippers, taken to a quiet room with two chairs and served hot mint tea. When the large bowls for our feet were brought out, she gently lifted our legs into the water that might as well have been heaven and gave us a warm neck wrap. I immediately melted in my chair and fell asleep. I napped on and off the whole time, feeling like my body was getting exactly what it needed. The GM checked on us appropriately, even offering to warm our water. While there are options for added massage, that I will do next time, I realized this is the ideal spa experience for someone who prefers to not be touched. We left with cute little gift bags of yoga mat spray, bath gel and bath salt. This was a special touch! My bestie and I returned to Wake Spa for a Date Night package. I can't say enough about this place. The service was great from the front desk to the massage therapists. They are very detailed when you are making your reservation. (Which I highly suggest) We arrived 20 minutes early (they said 15 but we were excited) and changed into our slippers. We ordered two different teas to pair with our tea cookies. (which I absolutely love! Hint: Try the chocolate peanut butter or the blueberry lemon) We started with our foot and lower leg massage and ended with our head, neck, and shoulder massage. The therapists were great about checking in with us to see if the pressure was good. I cannot recommend this spa enough. We purchased several retail items to restock our supply. (I'm partial to the muscle spray) I saw a post that mentioned getting gift bags. Just to clarify, no service comes with gift bags. And tea cookies do have crumbs lol. It was definitely a positive experience. Even the most negative person could somehow find bliss if they would get out of their own way and relax. Happy soaking! We will definitely return! We just happened by this place quite by accident while taking in the sights on the 'painted alley' behind Market Square. Then a friend of ours visited the Spa in Asheville, NC and told us that we should give it a try. So, we booked an appointment and was excited for our visit. When we arrived and checked in at the desk, we were met with confusion. Evidently, the person who scheduled our reservation had not done it right. The GM came out and told us that she would still make our reservation happen. Since we were doing the Spa package ' Date Night', we were told that we each got to pick out just one small sugar cookie each. (the package description says that hot tea and delectables are included) We were escorted into a room that was sectioned off into two rooms by thin sheer curtains. Two large chairs were in each section. The chairs were quite large, square in shape, with straight backs and way to firm to be comfortable. You couldn't recline at all, and the chair all but swallowed me up! The large bowls of fragrant hot water were rolled in and our feet gently lifted by the attendants and placed inside to soak. A tray was delivered with a small pot of tea, two small round vessels to pour it in and yes, three small sugar cookies. They told us that they were giving us an extra cookie that we could share!! As you can see from the picture - they were crumbly and didn't break well at all. We were given 10 minute leg & foot massage on each leg, and 10 minute massage on neck and shoulder. The pressure was no where near firm enough, and I sank so low into that large chair that the neck & shoulder massage was not great either. I can't blame the weak massage on the therapist, since it was really hard to even reach my neck & shoulders!! We were not given a gift bag as some mentioned in their reviews. $190.00 for the two of us was quite pricey for what we experienced. read more

Once I'm inside the Wake Foot Sanctuary, I allow myself to be transformed by the ambiance of the place. You won't find distractions like phones or loud talking and I appreciate that. The soaks are amazing and the person I see there is amazing. I won't see another therapist! Again, being selfish, I don't want to tell which therapist I see because then she will stay booked! Okay, her name is Lisa...she is my favorite!! Although some therapist can add pressure when requested, this is not that kind of establishment...it's more for relaxation.
