Aside of my dislike of dentists in general, my issue with wf dental arts is billing. If you cannot find the staff to properly submit insurance information without filing it completely incorrectly then maybe you should not accept insurance. I should not have to deal with your mistakes with blue cross and blue shield for months after my visit. Overpayments caused by not submitting the insurance correctly falls back on me to correct. It should not be my responsibility to continually deal with your payment issues when office staff do things incorrectly. I don't pay for insurance only to be your office expert dealing with improper insurance payments due to your office staffs shortcomings. read more

I am new to the area, and a friend recommended this Dentist. I came here first and noted the poor reviews and was quite surprised since my friend recommended this practice. I noticed that most of the bad reviews were older and specifically related to billing issues. I contacted the office directly and inquired about the bad reviews. The manager explained that they had previously been using a billing company they were no longer using due to the billing problems they had with them. They do not actively manage this Yelp site and therefore were unaware of the terrible reviews. In good faith, I booked my new patient appointment and am very happy to report that I had a great experience. The office was very clean and tidy. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and prompt with their service. My hygienist was kind and gentle and listened to my concerns. I received a great cleaning - and she took into consideration my sensitivity to hot and cold and did not spray cold water right onto my teeth - nor did she use the ultrasonic scaler to clean my teeth - which many hygienists have pushed on me in the past. Dr. Winkelmann came in afterward and reviewed my xrays and my teeth and gave me a clean bill of health. I was happy not to have them try and sell me on additional unnecessary services - that many other offices tried to convince me were necessary. Things like deep gum cleaning, ultrasonic procedures, etc. None of these are needed - if you just brush and floss twice daily and don't go to bed without brushing your teeth for the night. I have literally improved my gums by following these simple practices. My overall experience was outstanding, and I have my 6-month cleaning already scheduled. I plan to continue my best practices at home and keep up with my twice-yearly visits to the dentist's office. Please give them a chance - you won't be disappointed. read more

" whatever. Women have been flying planes for 30 or more years. The mom's career is indicative. Have more women become pilots-of course. Not sure from a CRM standpoint this combo would be more than one flight to make history. read more

Beware: They give estimates that are considerably understated. After you have paid what they told you it would cost, about a month later you get a bill for more. In our case it was almost 25% more on top of what we had already paid. My wife and I have had work done in the past and have had other problems that were caused by them, that I finally got resolved (even though the billing person, Leslie, was very rude to me then and even hung up on me one time). Here, we are two years later and it has happened again. Two crowns for my wife, our cost after insurance estimated and paid. The receipt my wife got the day she paid for the second crown (on her first visit for that tooth) said "paid in full". A month later I got a bill for almost 25% more (for both crowns). I emailed Leslie (the billing person) and asked for a copy of the first receipt (I wanted to see if they noted "paid in full" on the first receipt). She wrote back and said they kept them for only 30 days and sent me a another bill with the extra amount again. Over a series of emails between me and Leslie, she was consistently sarcastic and rude. I asked to meet with Dr. Winkelmann. Leslie told me that he is too busy to talk about bills with patients! I was an Air Force officer and am a retired vice president from a large insurance company. Never in my career was I ever treated as rudely as I have been by Leslie, and apparently Dr. Winkelmann agrees with her behaviour and even encourages it. By the way, Leslie signs all of her emails "Have a nice day". In her "final" email to me (she said it would be the last one), she informed me that in the future, any business we give to them would have to be paid in full by us at the retail price, then they would bill our insurance company and give us a rebate if they get anything back from insurance. She said that Dr. Winkelmann agrees with that. On top of all of that, on her first visit for the work done on both teeth, my wife asked for both crowns to be metal, not ceramic because they wouldn't show. They gave her two ceramic crowns and charged her for them. We found that out just recently while researching the extra charge (looked closely in her mouth). I found out that the insurance company pays only for metal crowns. Of course that was the cause of the bad estimate in the first place. But they never told her about that. I had to call the insurance company to find that out. I have filed a complaint about this practice with my insurance company. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Worst dentist I have ever been to. I went in for a cleaning and they told me I had a bunch of cavities, and one would have to be a crown - okay, fine. First off - the fillings Dr. Griffin did on a couple of my teeth have been causing me pain and temperature sensitivity since he first did them. I explained this to him and he said there was nothing wrong with them, so I've just been experience pain for the last 3 months because of something he clearly did not do right. I can't even floss because of the pain. Then, there was a whole ordeal with the crown they had made. The temporary one felt fine, but the permanent crown was definitely not the same shape as my tooth, and began causing me pain almost immediately. I went in for weekly visits for nearly 6 weeks to try and get this addressed, and Dr. Griffin seemed annoyed during several of them because he couldn't understand how I could be in so much pain because he 'did everything right'. They had to remove the crown, re-do a temporary one, and then put on a new permanent one. It has been 3 months since my first visit, and my mouth feels completely misaligned and I still have pain from the fillings he did. I will immediately be finding another dentist to fix the problems caused by this place and will make sure everyone I know never goes here. read more

Today I went to get a tooth pulled out that was bothering me and Trevor and Dr. Winkleman really were the bomb.com. Trevor advised me to breath and really help the process go smoothly. I have a bad case of anxiety when it comes to doctor visits of any kind. And Trevor reassured me that right then and there that I was in the best hands. I never had an issue with actual Dentists or Hygienists here. My issue is with billing. My son at the time was on Medicaid; You cannot proceed with dental work until they verified with Medicaid the coverage; which was done; they did work on my son and for the past 3 years I am now in collections for over $800. They said Medicaid denied payment; that cannot be since it was approved before the start of service. There seemed to be a glitch on Medicaid side which was fixed; I have disputed this on my credit report many times to no avail. I do not feel it is my responsibility to continually fight this payment when WF Dental Arts should be doing so with Medicaid and not me.. I could have taken him elsewhere. read more

This last experience (emphasis on last) with them was not a good one. I recently changed jobs and with that got new dental insurance, went out of my way to inform them "if you do not take my insurance I will go somewhere else". The lady on the phone took my insurance information and said "looks like you have the same company so you're fine". Fast forward to the day of the appointment, I asked again "just want to make sure my insurance is covered before I received any care". Again, was assured they had the new information and everything was fine. It was time for x-rays and cleaning, so get the service done and leave, I get to the counter and told nothing owed today. 1 month later I receive a bill for $262 for (declined insurance). I call in to the billing department and the lady said "we check to see if it's the same company, but it's not our job to check every loophole to see if it's the same plan). How am I to know what is/isn't covered with them? And why isn't there some way in 2020 to see before you do anything that I'm on a plan that you covered? Beyond upset with this place and will never be back. read more

The office staff is great- professional and kind. The hygienists performs cleanings in an efficient and skillful manner. The Invisalign experience has been easy and effective for me. Only have a 1 because I had too. This company is a joke. I Called to reschedule my appointment 24 hours in advance. Of course, I was charged 35 during to cancellation. Their policy is 48 hours rather than the normal 24 hours. Nothing but a money hungry organization. Then when I gave a less than good review on Facebook. I get a letter from them they can no longer be my doctor. Well, hello genius, I guess my new dentist requesting my information prior to the letter being sent was a good sign i wasn't wasting time or money here. Leslie has rude manners. Sadly, it appears her actions are allowed by the owner of practice. After repetitive request to have my family records moved , and asking for a different point of contact than Leslie in writing, she continues to send me emails. This feels very drama-filled. I refuse to give any negative person their " payoff" by treating me rudely and hanging up on me during a phone call.( After reading others reviews, it appears that's a common trend ). They lost 4 patients and the transitioning to a new dentist was horrific as the only records sent were x rays with no date of service. read more

Rudest Receptionist Ever! Having been there once before, I called this office to find out how much out of pocket I would have to pay after my insurance payment for a cleaning, X rays and checkup. The first person I talked to said she would find out and let me know. After 2 days I called back and Leslie answered. I told her the situation and she told me that unfortunately the office policy was to make an appointment and then they would check the insurance coverage. After going back and forth telling her that the other person I had talked to earlier was going to find out for me and asking her to connect me with her, she hung up on me. This Leslie qualifies as the rudest receptionist I have ever come across, and it goes without saying that they lost a patient forever. It does not speak well of Dr Winkelmann's judgement that he would keep such a rude person dealing with customers, specially as a receptionist which is usually the first contact with his office. read more

Never again! This business does not accommodate working professionals at all and they charge you for everything. I scheduled an appointment for myself and 2 other family members. The practice immediately accessed and charged one person for 4 fillings, tried to my other family member and schedule me for another appointment. The day the first person came for the visit, their fire alarm went off, the office staff couldn't turn it off and had to reschedule everyone for another day. Keep in mind my family member had to take the day off of work (because they do not have weekend or after 5 pm appointments) to go through this and be reschedule for another day. We were okay with that because things happen but the day of my appointment, is when it became a problem. I called and informed the office that I would be 10-15 minutes late and the receptionist said "Okay, we will see you when you get here." I arrived and waited maybe 10 minutes and was directed to the x-ray room. The hygienist said "What are the issues you are having with your teeth?" I answered what my issues were and said my most important issue would be that I needed a routine cleaning (which is what I scheduled my appointment for) I was then told that "Being that I was late, the only thing they had time for is x-ray's!" I stated "That's not what I initially came to the dentist for and was not informed of this information when I let the staff member know I would be 10/15 minutes late." The hygienist immediately got annoyed and "so-called" went to ask the dentist if they can do the cleaning. She came back to the room I was in and stated "He said they weren't available to do the cleaning but can do the x-ray." I had to chuckle (especially working in the medical field) and said "Thank you but no thank you!" I was escorted back to the front and the receptionist asked me "What happened?" I explained and she somewhat try to explain "That being that I was late and if they do my cleaning then other patients would run over late." I started to explain and said "In the medical professional, there is always a grace period for these sort of issues and if not there should be some sort of communication when a person calls to tell you they are running late." She replied with somewhat of an attitude and I stop her by saying "Thank you!" and I cancelled my family member's follow up appointment and walked out. This place is a joke and very money hungry. Will not be returning or referring anyone! read more

I was a patient with this dentist for approximately the past 5 yrs and never had an issue with him. I always thought he and the hygienists did quality work. I always paid my bills at the time of the appointments but when my insurance company made an error and corrected it the billing office still wanted to charge me instead of waiting a day or two for the insurance company computers to catch up. My insurance company asked the dentist office to please wait a day or two to submit the bill but the dentist office said, "you wouldn't go to Walmart and ask them to hold off for a day or two." Not a neighborly practice at all. It's all business if that is what you are looking for. Unfortunately, there's two many dentists who practice this way out there. I was working out of town and the bonding on my front tooth fell off. I didn't think I had insurance since I had just changed jobs. I paid in full, then found out I was still insured. I went back the next day for that and didn't like the job that was done, my bite was off. I was told I was wrong about my bite. I asked for them to start over and do it through my insurance. I had a form to send a claim in after the work had been done. They filled that out and said that would take care of it. I got the money from the insurance backed based on the contracted fee. The insurance said the dentist had to return the rest to me. They are refusing because I didn't prove I had insurance before the procedure. The insurance company said it doesn't matter if I showed it to them months later I still had insurance on that date. I have filed a complaint with the insurance company about them. Now they are going after them. They should return the whole amount to me since I will have to get my dentist to fix it. read more
