She tailored our ride to how "spicy" we wanted to make it, so since it was our first time rafting, that made us feel great. The trip was the perfect level of excitement for us as beginners. It was fun, thrilling, and adventurous without ever feeling overwhelming. My sons, ages 10 and 13, had an absolute blast and want to plan another trip back. We even got to see a bald eagle along the river, it was phenomenal. The weather was perfect, and the whole experience was incredibly well organized. It's also just under two hours from Denver, making it a great day trip. We really appreciated the free parking, and they kept our car keys safely in the office while we were out on the river. We felt completely comfortable leaving everything else locked in our car. We couldn't have asked for a better first rafting experience. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone, especially families and first-time rafters. Definitely opt for the photo package too - the pictures we received were stunning and memorable. It seems like good customer service is becoming a lost art these days, so when you come across people who actually care about taking care of their customers, it definitely deserves some recognition. Flynt and Jeremy are awesome guys and their whole team was great to deal with all summer. This year we went down at 10am to beat the crowds and all the kayaks were rented. By 10:30 we were on the water but it can be busy. People are nice taking your money. 3hrs in a single kayak costs around $75 plus tax. Not cheap but worth it. They offer life jackets and surly service on the dock. Located right off the beach on the east end of town and next to the marina coffee shop. Easy access and not much parking at the marina. Use the public lots.

BUYERS BEWARE! TOTAL SCAM! My husband and I had never…read morebeen on a motorboat much less driven one ourselves. A young man who was very nice helped us get on, he explained that we should stay 150 yards away from the shore to avoid any damage to the boat/propeller. We did exactly that, because it was literally our first time and we were very afraid of causing any damage. Upon return to the dock, a young employee was very matter of fact with a very stern expression and demeanor, telling us that we damaged the propeller. He did ask us if we recall hitting anything, and we did not... He then began to explain that we obviously did because the propeller was damaged and we were gonna have to pay for it. He then started throwing out numbers for the cost of the replacement. We were very adamant that we did not hit anything or go towards the shore as instructed. We asked for a manager, and Kevin Cox, the very confrontational manager, came walking out, holding the propeller up to my face, telling my husband and I that this is damage that we caused! He then began telling us that we are gonna pay for it, end of story! When I gave a rebuttal, telling him that I felt like this was a scam, he began to tell me that he knows for a fact that we drove near the shore! He began to make a scene and try to shame us in front of other customers... And when we responded, telling him he was full of it... He then called the police and told the police that we were causing a "verbal disturbance". We feel that he knew that the police could not force us to pay for the part so that was his cause for making an accusation of "verbal disturbance "! At that point, my husband said "let's go! "... Kevin Cox replied, "oh you're gonna leave, that means I have to go with you!"We walked about 3/4 of a mile and he followed the entire way. At that point, we sat down on a park bench... And he just stood there. We finally just got up and told him to quit following us and he stayed behind as we took off. We circled back around and to get our vehicle which was parked on their property... And saw a police officer there. We flagged the officer down, to speak with him about the matter. The officer was very courteous and friendly, and remained neutral. He did say that it was a possibility that we did cause the damage and didn't feel it, or know it and that Kevin Cox was probably going to charge our credit card for the cost of the propeller...he also stated that if we dispute the charges, he could potentially take us to Small Claims Court! It was a good thing I video recorded Fred's demeanor and him following us because I was able to show the police officer who let us walk because we did nothing wrong. Horrible customer service, a big time scam, by the way, the propellers are plastic... Which I believe is why they are easily damaged... But Kevin Cox told us that we were lucky it was plastic because if it was metal, it would cost double the amount!! ‍

I've been boating here for almost 20 years, and it never gets old. Whether you're cruising, fishing, or just relaxing with family and friends, Lake Granby is tough to beat. It's a Colorado gem that I look forward to visiting every summer.

I had a blast white water rafting down the Colorado River with Mad Adventures. When you arrive to…read moretheir store location it's about 30 minutes of admin stuff before you load the buses to head for the launch point. You fill out the wavier paperwork, get a speech from one of the workers, and go through the line to your life jacket and paddle. They also have shoes for rent if you need them. The bus ride to the launch point is about 30 minutes. The staff do their best to keep everyone entertained while your on the bus; telling jokes, telling you facts about landmarks, and the local area. When you get to the launch point it's about another 15 minutes before you get on your raft. They go through another 5-7 minute speech about the water, how to maneuver, and all the safety stuff (just in case crap goes wrong). Then they split you up into groups and you load the raft. We truly had a blast on the raft and I never felt like I was at risk of injury, or unsafe through the entire ride. From start to finish it was about a 2 hour trip; but it went by really fast. I could have rode the river for at least another 1-2 hours. It was super chill and some of the rough waters (class II and III) didn't last long but made the ride very exciting. We did stop for about 30 minutes at a point where you can jump off a cliff. There is a 25 foot cliff as well as a small jump spot for kids (my 4 year old jumped from the small spot). I did go up to the 25 foot jump (along with about 30 other people). Jumping was not a problem at all because you walk up to the edge and simply walk off for the jump. They don't give you anytime to look around, think, or get scared. 30 people jumped off in less than 7-8 minutes. It felt great!! The ride back to the main store was much shorter; about 15 minutes. Overall we had a great time and it was well worth it.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience…read more My wife booked a zipline reservation for me and our family while we were visiting Colorado from Massachusetts. We were busy getting ready for the day when she booked the zip line and she was unaware of my current weight, and the online booking process did not require participant weights before payment. When we arrived, I was weighed before the tour began and was informed that I exceeded the maximum weight limit and could not participate. It was clear to the acting manager that I was not aware of the weight limit. I completely understand and respect that the weight limit is in place for safety. What disappointed me was how my request was handled afterward. I asked if the company would consider a goodwill refund since I was turned away before the activity even began and that I was not aware of the policy. I was told that my request would be emailed to the owners and that I would receive a response within two days. No one ever contacted me. I followed up after waiting 5 days and at that time was told the owners were away for the week. When I contacted the company again, Acting Manager Brandon told me that the email requesting the owners' review that he said he sent while we were there had never actually been sent. He also informed me that, despite the email never being sent as promised, the company would still be following its policy and would not refund my payment. I understand businesses have policies, and I respected the safety decision without argument. My disappointment is with the lack of follow-through and customer service. I was promised a response that never came, had to repeatedly follow up myself, and ultimately received a denial after being told the owners had never even received the original request. No response from the owners as promised and when I had to call again I was told by Brandon that the owners would be sticking to their policy and I could dispute it with my credit card company if that is what I wanted to do. When I asked for an email so that I could contact the owners I was told that was not possible. If you're considering booking, make absolutely certain every participant meets all requirements before purchasing. The company weighs participants upon arrival, and if someone is over the limit, don't expect a refund--even if the activity never begins and you are visiting from out of state. I respect the need for safety rules. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the way this situation was handled. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of willingness to consider the individual circumstances. Customer service isn't just about enforcing policies--it's also about recognizing when an honest mistake has occurred and exercising reasonable discretion. Despite the circumstances, there appeared to be no meaningful review of the situation and no consideration of a one-time exception. We visit Colorado every couple years and we will make sure to choose another company when looking for an adventure.

There are a multitude of options for types of sites and if sites havent been rented they say open and you can claim them, however, you have to pay cash or check in the moment. There are tent only sites, day use, and rv sites with electrical hookup. Water currently unavailable. Definitely would come back and hopefully for longer!

Stillwater is one of my favorite car camping sites. It is a short drive to Lake Grandby and about…read more25 minutes to Winter Park. The camp sites are always well maintained as are the bathrooms. The bathrooms have running water, full stocked with toilet paper but no soap so be sure you bring some. The sites contain bear boxes, picnic tables, fire pit and pad for your tent. You can always park your car close to any of the sites. There are designated paths that lead to the water and very small beach area. A ton of paddle boarders, a few boats and jet skis but, mostly people just enjoying the water close to the beach area.
