Guided fishing for Lake Trout with Eric. He was super knowledgeable and patient with my twin boys, answering all of their questions. We caught 14 fish and had a great time.

I was excited because few places rent kayaks in October. Their site says they are open to rent until late October. We called two months in advance to confirm this and that they rented kayaks or canoes. They explicitly said they were open October 10 for this purpose. Got there today just past 3 and were initially told they don't rent kayaks. I rechecked the site and pointed this out to them and they rudely changed their minds and said they were closing early because a storm was coming in. Picture attached not showing weather for a couple days. Really disappointing, bad and rude service. Certainly wouldn't come back here on-season.

The boat was super easy to maneuver

Rented a pontoon boat here for our multi-generation family of 6 adults and two toddlers; around $135+gas for two hours. We were impressed that, in these COVID-respecting times, all staff members were wearing masks, only one person as allowed in their office at a time, and our boat was washed down before we boarded it. A 10 minute instruction and suggestions for where to take the boat were given and off we went to enjoy the amazingly blue and fluffy-cloud skies and happily-calm waters of Lake Granby. There was more than adequate seating for us all, as well as a canopy to get out of the sun. Saw an osprey nest with watchful mama and baby, but no other wildlife sightings as we made our way through a perfect afternoon boat ride.

Highly recommend this friendly and accommodating family business. Their pricing is very fair for the area and equipment is in great shape.

BUYERS BEWARE! TOTAL SCAM! My husband and I had never…read morebeen on a motorboat much less driven one ourselves. A young man who was very nice helped us get on, he explained that we should stay 150 yards away from the shore to avoid any damage to the boat/propeller. We did exactly that, because it was literally our first time and we were very afraid of causing any damage. Upon return to the dock, a young employee was very matter of fact with a very stern expression and demeanor, telling us that we damaged the propeller. He did ask us if we recall hitting anything, and we did not... He then began to explain that we obviously did because the propeller was damaged and we were gonna have to pay for it. He then started throwing out numbers for the cost of the replacement. We were very adamant that we did not hit anything or go towards the shore as instructed. We asked for a manager, and Kevin Cox, the very confrontational manager, came walking out, holding the propeller up to my face, telling my husband and I that this is damage that we caused! He then began telling us that we are gonna pay for it, end of story! When I gave a rebuttal, telling him that I felt like this was a scam, he began to tell me that he knows for a fact that we drove near the shore! He began to make a scene and try to shame us in front of other customers... And when we responded, telling him he was full of it... He then called the police and told the police that we were causing a "verbal disturbance". We feel that he knew that the police could not force us to pay for the part so that was his cause for making an accusation of "verbal disturbance "! At that point, my husband said "let's go! "... Kevin Cox replied, "oh you're gonna leave, that means I have to go with you!"We walked about 3/4 of a mile and he followed the entire way. At that point, we sat down on a park bench... And he just stood there. We finally just got up and told him to quit following us and he stayed behind as we took off. We circled back around and to get our vehicle which was parked on their property... And saw a police officer there. We flagged the officer down, to speak with him about the matter. The officer was very courteous and friendly, and remained neutral. He did say that it was a possibility that we did cause the damage and didn't feel it, or know it and that Kevin Cox was probably going to charge our credit card for the cost of the propeller...he also stated that if we dispute the charges, he could potentially take us to Small Claims Court! It was a good thing I video recorded Fred's demeanor and him following us because I was able to show the police officer who let us walk because we did nothing wrong. Horrible customer service, a big time scam, by the way, the propellers are plastic... Which I believe is why they are easily damaged... But Kevin Cox told us that we were lucky it was plastic because if it was metal, it would cost double the amount!! ‍

I'll start by saying Best Marine is truly the BEST marine shop I've ever come across (and I've…read moreowned multiple marine toys over the years). Hands down the BEST. Not only is their actual marine services top notch, but their customer service is unmatched. I've had a couple of great experiences that support this 5-star review, but here is the most recent that really encouraged me to post a review: Dropped my boat off for de-winterizing service a week ago and while Best Marine was providing their multi-point inspection on my boat (which is included at no additional cost during de-win service), they found a few issues, one of which that would have left me as a sitting duck on the lake if it wasn't caught before dropping in the lake (shifter was unresponsive). The other issues they found were minor but needed to be fixed to remain legal (nav light toggle switch was broken, light wiring was jacked up causing tail lights to fail, etc). I had been planning to take the boat out for the first time of the season just three days after the de-win was scheduled but these issues had to be fixed (clearly). In the midst of Best Marine's peak season, the GM (Layne) made sure my boat was fixed as a top priority so I could be on the water when I had planned to. I was blown away with how much they cared that I was on the water when I planned to be. And, when I say "cared", I mean Layne and Shaun stayed at the shop AFTER they closed on a Friday night to ensure my boat was fixed and ready to go the following morning. These guys truly put their customers first - and in my case, they put their own personal schedules aside to ensure they went into the weekend with a pleased customer. They also gave me some great tips for better operating and maintaining my boat to ensure longevity. HUGE shoutout to Layne and Shaun for going above and beyond for me and my boat. Love these hard working guys and wish there were more people like them in this world. Thank you for being the BEST, Best Marine!!
