Quaint, and with excellent prices. Very nice staff, this town needs a nice sit down place! The menus are great, one for breakfast and one for lunch-even with a "Sorta Vegetarian" menu!

Cool spot in an historic building trail side of the Panhandle trail in Burgettstown, PA. Did breakfast after a several hour walk on the trail and it was terrific! Friendly service, local atmosphere, good coffee and delicious western omlette "smash" with fresh green, red and yellow pepper chunks, tomatoes, opinions ham, cheese and home fried potatoes all smashed together... Looked like a full breakfast menu and burger/ sandwich lunch menu- lots of take out options and biker/ walker supplies available for those on the trail!

This is a great place a long the Panhandle Trail in Burgettstown. It is a family owned place and will make you anything they have the ingredients for. The building is an old place from a bygone era. It has original tin panels on the wall and ceiling. Today they had a buffet set up because the riding group leader called ahead and let them know we were coming. The set up the buffet so that we could be served quickly and be able to get back on the trail. They support trail riders and offer to refill your water bottles. The food and coffee was very good and fresh. I always stop here when I ride the Panhandle Trail.

This is the best meal we've had all week in western Pennsylvania! The pierogies, fried Mac and cheese, burgers, fries---were fresh and delicious!!! Not only was the food amazing, so were the people!!! We made friends with our cook and waitress. Don't miss it!! This place is a MUST!!!

Please see my attached photos for the menu in July 2025. Customers may either dine in or get takeout. My husband and I sat at an indoor table of our choosing. An outdoor deck also had seating. Our waitress spoke very nicely with us. We had a bit of a wait for our foods, but it was a busy weekend morning. I ate the Mama Evans' Blueberry-Bacon Pancakes. Three pancakes contained both blueberries and bacon pieces and tasted both sweet and savory. I personally prefer blueberry pancakes and a side of bacon, but I appreciated trying this unique mixture. My husband ate a Ham-Cheese Omelet with sides of chunky homefries and toasted bread. He liked it. We shared a half-sized Not Your Mama's Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. The spicy gravy was balanced with the slightly sweet biscuit. My husband said, "I'm glad we got it. It has good flavor." We both drank orange juice. The total price was $43 plus a tip.

Parking behind the building was easy and I got a table right away. Everyone was so friendly. My server Karen was especially nice, attentive, and patient, giving me her opinion on several dishes. The food came quickly. The quality and quantity of food was an amazing value. I tried the Eggs N'at ($12.50) which included 2 eggs, 3 bacon strips, country potatoes, bread (I had cinnamon raisin), and a pancake. I upgraded my pancake to the monthly special - peaches and pecans. Everything was so delicious! To top it off, I enjoyed their music playlist. I wish they were closer to me in the SF Bay Area!

There aren't a ton of tables but enough to accommodate 20-30 people in total across various tables. The menu was a little intimidating for me as brunch isn't anything I've ever had. But it's basically a breakfast menu and a lunch menu. They also have a nice bakery selection as well. I went with the caprese and a salad. I made a slight mistake and didn't read everything that came on the sandwich. As an avid carnivore I was a little disappointed to find out it was vegetarian, but that was before I tried it. The combination of the creamy mozzarella, tomato and balsamic was fantastic. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Im hoping the next time we stop in they aren't out of their salty bread to try with it. My wife tried the turkey, Brie and apple butter sandwich. Her's was my favorite of the two. They lightly toast the sandwich so everything is warm and creamy. The apple butter pairs nicely with the Brie and the smokey turkey. I'd recommend both of our sandwiches but if mine was an 8/10 hers was a 10 for me. I also had their house salad on the side. It wasn't anything extra special but the cranberries were a really nice touch to take it to the next level. If I had even one complaint to make it would be the hours. I'm sure they close at 2 because most people because they're a brunch spot, but with the quality of their food i would eat it for any meal of the day. I can't recommend it enough honestly.

When we walked in, there was an unsmiling staff member who just continued to stamp bags while we awkwardly just stood there. However, the rest of the staff was friendly. They have a great menu with interesting options. My husband enjoyed his breakfast sandwich. My quiche was tasty, but while piping hot on the outside, it wasn't even room temp in the middle. I also didn't like having to drink my water out of a plastic cup, but would be happy to stop by this place again

The Speckled Egg provided the upscale and elevated breakfast, that was a nice contrast to the rustic and local breakfast we had the next day. Our waitress was friendly and professional. He was courteous, well spoken and friendly. We sat there for about 10-12 minutes. No one approached the table. We looked over to what appeared to be a bar area and we saw two servers standing there talking and showing each other their phones. My wife said, "With our luck, one of those two is our server." Sure enough, when they were finally done talking, one came over to our table....no smile and a big audible sigh. She asked what we wanted to drink, we gave our order and she returned with our beverages. After another 10 minute wait she came back to take our order. When asked about a certain dish, came another big sigh, eye roll and and a rote description of said dish. The food arrived and one of the orders was wrong. Another wait to get her attention. We asked for the item to be redone as we had ordered it. And she even asked how we wanted it! You got it...another eye roll and a big sigh. At least she was well oxygenated! The dish came back with the very same results. On that issue we gave up. Then came the wait for the check. Once again the two servers were chatting, no heads turned to check on their tables. My son went over to get the check. When the check arrived, it was attitude city. She accused us of picking on her because she was only a server. It's obviously how she saw herself. We then asked for the manager who was quick to side with the server. She said that nothing seemed to satisfy us and that we had a problem. IN SHARP CONTRAST. I have been to the Speckled Egg on the South Side many times. From the Host/Hostess to the servers to the bus staff, everyone had a smile, chatted with their customers, laughed and it was always a great experience. The manager came over since he recognized me from being there many times and we chatted for a minute. We are talking Night and Day. Completely two different experiences from server to management styles. To me there is only one Speckled Egg and one complete waste of time (Downtown).
