The dark chocolate shake is super chocolate-forward, thick and delicious. It's really, really chocolately. Also: Why have I lived forty-plus years and never tasted a dark chocolate milkshake? I've had many chocolate milkshakes, and they have been fine. The dark chocolate milkshake at Love's tastes like actual chocolate, though, and it is supremely satisfying. It almost makes me forget that I don't like ice cream! Love's has lots of other ice cream and gelato offerings, including vegan ice cream, plus chocolates and peanut brittle and things like that. The chocolate ice cream was less smooth than I recall but that may have been due to the Twix addition. The add-ins seemed to make it all a little grainy in my flurry, but my wife's flurry didn't have that issue. There was also a notable difference in amounts given. Mine is pictured while my wife's was filled to the very brim. We ordered the same size. Normally I get a regular twist with sprinkles and I think I'll stick to that moving forward. Since we've been there before we knew to bring cash, but the gal behind us in line didn't know. It's a little inconvenient to be cash only, but it's their businesses choice. The staff were kind and we got out ice cream quickly. All in all not my favorite ice cream shop in town, but it does what it needs to in a pinch and when I don't want to drive further for a cone.

They have a large candy counter as well as tons of pre-packaged items that make perfect gifts. I chose some caramel corn (excellent) as well as a prepackaged box of assorted creams (also delicious). The ambiance is that of an old fashioned candy store, and it's full of wonderful smells! Definitely visit if you're in the area and have a sweet tooth!

For me, prices were slightly higher than Grand Haven, but service was good (though there was a bit of a line, it was hot!!) We sat outside in one of the patio tables which was under an awning and provided shade. It looked like there was seating out back too, but unsure what it looked like as we stayed in the front. Since I'm simple and usually get a standard twist cone with sprinkles, I'm easy to please. For me, the soft serve has been somewhat inconsistent; sometimes it's great and sometimes its really soft and has melted quickly which made it a race to eat! I've also had some random texture issues with some flurries. One time my wife had the drumstick flurry and I don't know what happened, but the texture became super grainy and almost like the ice cream was curdling/separating. That for sure felt like a one-off, but is now always in my mind and makes me far less likely to get a flurry. There is almost always a line in the evening and on weekends, but it does tend to more quickly. It's a time to chit chat and gives you plenty of time to check out the extensive menu. I love that it's dog friendly so pals can bring their babes or I get to see other people's dogs! They don't have a ton of seating, but it's not generally presented as an issue.
