Ordered online via the Slice app (like I've been doing for years) get to the location and they acted as if they hadn't received the order. I waited in the lobby and noticed that others received their orders. Asked if my order was ready and found that it was sitting in the take out area. Returned home in Upper Marlboro to find that the cheddar jalapeno poppers that I ordered were cream cheese instead. Contacted Slice and they said they would contact the store for a refund. 5 mins later I was emailed stating the store would not refund my money for the item because I received the item. On April 3, 2026 I placed an order for 100 pieces of chicken thru Uber at the 7600 Old Branch Ave Clinton MD location. The order was to be picked up April 4, 2026 between 1145-1215. The order was confirmed. Upon arriving the manager failed to display customer service in a manner I believe would befit a corporation such as yours. The order wasn't ready and professed manager was very rude. This is my second time frequenting this location and will be the last. Yelp pls enable negative star. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, ordered 3 pieces of perch wit fries. Fries were meh at best, hot but not crispy; the perch on the other hand was delicious. 3 pieces of perfectly breaded and perfectly fried fish was a treat. The filets were a generous size, crispy and not greasy while moist and flakey on the inside. Fish was cooked to order, so order in advance or be prepared to wait for 10 minutes. Staff was efficient, tables were a hot mess, they were clean; but obviously had seen better days. Tops of the tables were she real degrees off center and booth sheeting was cut and patched in several places...all this added to the "ambience" in my humble opinion. Hip Hop Fish & Chicken has multiple locations, primarily in the Baltimore area, but has a few other spots in DC, Temple Hills, and Glen Burnie. They offer a variety of items on their menu such as Fish & Chicken Combos, sides, and desserts. On the drive home, I wanted to stop by to pick up their Half & Half, as I am obsessed with Hip Hop's version - unfortunately, the drink itself wasn't the same; it seemed a little watery and diluted, and it didn't have their signature tangy taste to it. I feel like they either gave me a drink order that has been forgotten or has been sitting for a while from another order, or their concoction wasn't prepared properly in their drink machine. Good customer service and the food comes out quick and fresh. This is my second time coming here and I'm never disappointed. Always drove by this place and finally decided to try them. Absolutely stunned at the quality of food for a chain. The fried chicken topped with their special salt then dipped in hot sauce was a winning combination. What was even better than the chicken was the Fried Fish. I know, surprising right? I'm a fried chicken gal, but the Fish really did it for me. The Whiting was golden-brown and crispy while the fish meat inside was delicate and fluffy. This was my first time going to the Clinton franchise and it was awful first off the fish sandwich combo that I ordered had a thousand bones in it and the fries were extra soggy . The service was ok . The best part about this meal was the onion rings outside of that. I could never recommend this place to anyone I know. read more

What is so special about this place? There are 37 locations. The first one opened in Randallstown, MD in 2009. I decided to give them a try. Of course, I had to get fish and chicken since that's their specialty.    The Fish & Chicken combo came with fries, coleslaw, and bread. The fish choices were whiting (2pcs), trout (2 pcs), ocean perch (2pcs), catfish (1 pc), tilapia (1pc), catfish nuggets (1/2 lb), shrimp (10 pcs), or jumbo shrimp (3pcs). The chicken choices were wings (4 pcs), legs (4 pcs), thighs (4 pcs), chicken tenders (3 pcs), breast (1 pc), gizzard (1/2lb), livers (1/2 lb), or chicken nuggets (7 pcs). I got the trout and chicken thighs. The trout fillets were thin, had bones, and skin. The breading was crispy and somewhat oily. It wasn't too thick and tasted okay because it was seasoned. The small amount of meat tasted fine, but this is not worth eating if you want fish instead of fried batter.    The fried chicken thighs had a thin, crispy coating that was somewhat oily. It was seasoned well. The meat was tender and moist. This was the best part of the meal! However, Popeyes has nothing to worry about.    Everything was put into one box. The fish was on top, the chicken below it, fries beneath the chicken, and 2 slices of white bread at the bottom. The white bread was flattened and stuck to the bottom. Who's the genius behind that packaging idea? It was plain bread that was soft and moist. Too bad it was pressed flat and needed a spatula to remove them. They need to put the bread on the side or top.    There were a lot of fries. No seasoning on them. They were crispy and oily. The oil was clean, so the taste was decent. Nothing special here.    The coleslaw had cabbage and a few carrots. The dressing was slightly sweet with mayonnaise and some vinegar. No celery seed or black pepper. It was simple tasting and okay.    I ordered carryout and arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes after ordering. The order wasn't ready. I waited a few minutes for it. The employee was polite and careful about giving out the orders. The dining room was clean. There was only one restroom. It was clean but had no paper on any kind. Someone there needs to keep an eye on that. I included their menu in my photos so you can see the other things that they sell. The fish was not worth buying, the chicken was okay, the bread, coleslaw, and fries were typical, and the prices were not low. There's not much here for me to recommend!! read more

The chicken wings are really small. The sign says 2 sides with meal but I have never gotten two sides. I believe it's suppose to fries and coleslaw but you must have to remind them to put the coleslaw in the bag. The guys are always on their phones. read more

They serve many different options of fish. The combos and specials are reasonably priced too! They even sell locally made desserts that were very good. The fried chicken was super crispy and juicy. The fried fish is seasoned well. The sides were made to perfection. The collard greens was a fave cause it had a slight kick to it. And that famous "crack salt" lived up to the hype. Food always hot, just the right amount of that special powder sprinkled over the fish & chicken; customer service, staff has always been polite and accommodating; and the ambiance, well, it's setup carry out style with a few tables to dine in if you like. FINALLY went to Hip Hop Fish and Chicken after many suggestions from family and acquaintances. Picked up orders of catfish and whiting with a few suggested side orders and we were pleasantly pleased! Why do they call this Hip Hop when none of their staff is African American at any location that I have been 2. I quickly looked up the menu and the pictures of the food. not only do we have a good selection of items but we have some great soul food staples that have been popularized over the past few years for great reasons. I ordered a 5 piece wing meal with mac & cheese, onion rings, mac and cheese bites and a waffle (don't judge me). The mac and cheese was pretty good. The or and mac and cheese bites left a little more to be desired but still decent. I ordered these extras just to try out a variety. But what I really came for it the chicken and waffles. Please be careful when you go to this place! I ordered fried chicken and once I received My box of chicken, I noticed white powder sprinkled on my chicken. I asked the cashier why was white powder on my chicken? The cashier stated that it was lemon pepper. I informed him that I did not ask for lemon pepper and wanted my order replace. In less than 2 minutes, the cashier returned with the same chicken re-fired. I instantly noticed that the chicken was old and was placed back in the fryer. AND THE WHITE POWDER WAS THERE TO HIDE THAT THE CHICKEN WAS OLD. I asked for my money back AND HANDED THE BOX OF CHICKEN BACK TO THE CASHIER. However, I ALSO NOTICED THE COOK PLACED THE CHICKEN BACK IN THE FRYER BASKETS ALONG WITH THE FRIES. BEWARE, THEY ARE RE-FRYING OLD CHICKEN AND FRIES!!!!!! Enjoyed my first visit to this spot. The Mac and cheese is delicious and I was surprised the collard greens were so well seasoned. I ordered a two piece perch combo and the fish was hot and crisp. The best part was my from off the griddle waffle with a dash of powdered sugar!! It's cooked to order and taste like a cake. It was a great way to finish a meal! During a time were face mask are mandatory you would think the workers would have them on. I find it unacceptable that the employees are working around food and not one of them had on a mask. The one person that did have one on wore it wrong. It defeats the purpose of the mask if you going to have your nose and mouth exposed. I wish I could find a number to report them because they should know better. You have signs saying no mask no service, you should practice what you preach.
