KOA sign from the highway to the entrance is easy to see

Great location on the Oregon coast. Beautiful view from small back-in site #22 --- it was perfect and I'm so glad we got that space! We enjoyed the busy Newport area harbor and also the charming smaller town of Yachets which are both close by in opposite directions from this KOA. The KOA itself is a-ok but it's the location that we were going for, so honestly my rating is mostly for the proximity to other interesting things to do. Price per night was reasonable, spaces are close to each other, the driveway is narrow for bigger rigs but we enjoyed our 2 night stay. Ease of booking online at any KOA is a huge plus! Nice gift shop on site. We used no amenities due to COVID restrictions.

If I could give 4 1/2 stars I would. We had a great time here and enjoyed the fact that the park was very quiet at night. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful as were the other guests we ran into! The only downside is being so close to the Hwy you might hear sirens as emergency services go by. We didn't mind the car traffic noise but the sirens can be a bit much! Also the spots aren't very wide but most have nice separation between them.

This is such a nice place! The staff is very friendly and the grounds are nice and clean. The views are beautiful! We had a lot of fun taking the trail down to the bay at low tide and felt safer exploring with our 2 young kiddos there as opposed to out by the ocean where there were warnings for sneaker waves all weekend. It was a perfect spot for our little family and we will definitely be going back.

Stayed here June 2022 for the second time , staff was really friendly and helpful. The path down to the beach was nice and convenient. Going across the bridge is a really nice experiences with shops, stores , grocery stores, restaurants all within walking distance or a minute drive over the bridge . Would stay here again

I am feeling upset. I was denied accommodation at the KOA campground in Waldport OR, because our dogs look too much like a Pitbull. I had reservations for a few months for this event to spend time with all my family for my mom's birthday. When checking in they asked what breed my dogs were and i told them that i wasn't sure. I kept telling her that I'm not sure because I got them at the shelter and that they are both considered mixed breed on their vet paperwork. She kept pushing me to come up with an actual mixed breed, so I was way too truthfully and said that rowdy has some American Staffordshire terrier, but not sure the whole mix. They came out and looked at them and said "nope, we will not be able to accommodate your stay with us, they are on the list of breeds not allowed".

Very beautiful little spot with great views from some sites. Clean bathrooms, friendly people working their, and they have nice sized trailer spots. They have hedges that separate the campsites for privacy. The store is well stocked from food, clothing, games and souvenirs. They have RV replacement hoses and other parts. They have camp gear and ice cream. Pretty much everything you could need. I will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful and quiet! Much needed stop on our long drive home the staff is great. Def would recommend very clean.

What a great place, we had a site that backed up to the bay where we could see sea lions sunbathing daily.

We were driving from Northern California hoping to find a campground near Yachats. Every single one…read morewas full and when we came upon rovers park we were amazed that there were several openings. As we drove in I was very hesitant since it did not look inviting at first. Our site, number 24, is right at the beginning of a path leading to the water. There is a mowed area to walk and benches that are very inviting. We initially were planning on staying for one night but we are staying for since we love it so much. This is by far one of the sweetest places that we've ever stayed. Very friendly people and a real hidden gem. 8-19. Stayed again for three nights and easily could have stayed much longer. What a special place.a y people have dogs and there are places for them to play. Always friendly wonderful people

We stayed at Chinook for 6 weeks and could have stayed longer if we wanted to…read more This park is absolutely fabulous for those of us traveling with pets. The owners are great dog lovers and they will do anything to make you and your pets feel welcome. The park is small with excellent amenities, washer/dryer room, full hook ups, cable tv, and the wifi is free and excellent strength. I know this really is exceptional. Most parks will tell you they have free wifi but most are hardly usable and have the pace of a 2400 baud modem in the '90's. It is not really a park for those with kids, there are no kids amenities like play grounds and they are not allowed in the river. We especially picked Chinook RV because it breathes the simplicity that we like and that makes us feel relaxed. The proximity to the river is awesome. The dog off leash area is also located at the river and they have a HUGE field to run and play in and get their paws wet in the river. I am a wheelchair user and Chinook RV Park is very accessible to me. I can accompany the dogs easily to the off-leash area in my wheelchair and can even drive around on the field and getting close to the water. This depends on the tide of course, if it has been high tide the grounds can be wet on some places and you will soon get to know those areas and know you have to avoid them in order to not get stuck. We were parked at space nr: 16, all spaces are wide and large. Our 5th wheeler is 42 ft long and we had no problem fitting in. The cute small seaside town of Waldport is a 3 minute ride away. There are a couple of accessible beaches where you can get access with a wheelchair and sit at the entrance to the beach. I can highly recommend Ona Park which has a lovely bridge over the slough and lots of places to sit and watch the dogs run on the beach. Patterson State Park is our absolute favorite, it has a paved sloped path to the beach. I park at the end of the path and watch the dogs play. Patterson State Beach has a small stream of non-salty water the the dogs love and will lie in to cool off. if you do not want to go down the sloped path you can sit up the hill, there are benches where you can watch those on the beach and it has stunning views over the sea. Waldport has a good variety of small shops, an excellent grocery, pharmacy, drug store, hardware store, candy store and don't forget the antique stores. On Thursdays and Saturdays the Pacific Dough Company, a bakery with the yummiest breads, tarts and pastries is open to the public. You have to try their Raspberry tarts they are to die for. On wednesday there is a small farmers market where you can buy all kinds of fresh produce and of course some art products. For breakfast and lunch/dinner I can highly recommend Jamie's Dockside Diner. A little bit further up the Alsea River Jamie has her diner on the dock on the river and serves the tastiest food ever. Take your time and lounge outside on the dock while enjoying your food. Chinook RV Park is conveniently located to all these great 'things to do'. This park management is of the highest standard that we ever experienced. They made us feel right at home and we are sorry we have to pack up and go. We certainly will be back!!

Easy path to a private beach, never saw more than 4 people total on our walks. Nice to let our small dog run free and explore. Indoor pool and weight room looked nice. Didn't use the restrooms, club house, pool or anything. Staff on check in were very friendly and answered all of our questions. Other people staying there were friendly and easy to chat with. We will be back again for sure!!!!

When we arrived to our site# 159 the pavers were full of weeds, some cracked, and an uneven site. We were very disappointed based on the price and the condition of the site. I talked to one of the staff and there comment was "the owner will be here next week and will take care of it." I explained that we were only there of 4 nights, he offered no other consolation or any concern for our disappointment. The next day I went to the office and talked to the manager, she also was very unsympathetic and said she had to talk to someone else. To say the least, no one ever got back to us! The rest of the park is nice, but definitely not worth the price. The TV's were not working in the gym (very small gym), and the advertised pickleball court was full of leaves and branches. The most frustrating part is the lack of customer service of the staff, they completely blew off our concerns and nobody appeared to have any concern for the fact that we booked this months in advance and paid a premium price for a poorly maintained site. We will not stay at this park again and certainly not recommend to anyone! We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.
