Well welcome to 2020. It's time to update my review for the drugstore and drive-thru supplies us, all of us in our family, with all the prescriptions, and vitamins, and a few other special items over and over and over again. Yes sometimes they get busy oh, and you have to wait a bit. But that's the way it is. Sometimes there can be many cars in the drive up, but most of the time I either drive up or I'm second in line. That's really nice and really handy. And that I can do it virtually 24 hours and seems I don't know, but all the time as far as my schedule is concerned, makes it really really nice. The people are Pleasant, even in the face of impatient customers. So all in all let's go works for me. Oh yes I forgot I have sent pictures in a few times for them to print, and it's always been really nice to get those prints back. It's a Wonderful feature and when you download them online you can come in pick them up usually within an hour or two. That's really nice. read more

I went here for the pharmacy and had a great experience. I needed to call in prescription and get it picked up the same day since I was out of my medication and in need of it and the pharmacy was sooo helpful. They were able to get my prescription found and transferred and filled in like maybe 15 mins-so quick! The woman who helped us, Rebecca, was also so kind and helpful to me both on the phone and when we picked up the prescription. Made appointments to get a vaccination for my two boys which they confirmed on my email and drove an hour to go see them only to find out that their computer systems were down and they could not do any vaccinations because their computers are down, huh!! Hello, the government is paying for this!! So we wasted 30 bucks in gas and a few hours out of our day, no "we are sorry" just can't do it. They did not know when it would be up again but we could wait if we wanted, it's been almost 24 hours now and they are still closed. What a joke!! I know things happen but how about a sorry or let us give you a gift card a a small token of appreciation which would have at least had a chance of us coming back where as now I will never step in a Walgreens again, too many businesses out there that actually have people that care and the sad thing is it was the manager that turned us away read more

I will never go back,if I have to have something in an emergency I will send my husband or sister. Became so frustrated with the them always being out of my medication every month. And then had the nerve not once but twice to tell me every pharmacy in town was out of a certain med and low and behold I called Rite Aid while I was sitting in drive thru and they said "we have plenty of the medication. I asked that my script be sent there and I have never been bay. read more

So I go to the dentist at 8:30 this morning and find out I have an abscess. The dentist has his front office person, Patti, call in a prescription to Walgreens for an antibiotic. He gives me two of the pills that he has in his office to get me started and tells me that I'll be ok if I pick up the medication in the afternoon because I've taken the two pills. At 2:30 in the afternoon I go to the pharmacy to get my medication. Oh I'm not in the system they say. I call the dentist office. She left the information on the voicemail rather than wait on hold to talk to a human. The Walgreens clerk says she doesn't know what voicemail that could be but ok. So while I'm standing there, Patti calls again and again has to leave a message. I wait fifteen minutes and then have to leave for an appointment. As I head out, I call Walgreens and ask the automated system for the status of my prescription. It doesn't see me in the system. I call Patti and let her know. Fifteen minutes later she calls me and says that this time she waited on hold and talked to a pharmacist. Forty five minutes later I'm out of my appointment and call Walgreens to check the status of my prescription. I'm not in the system. So I call back and get a human who says I'm not in the system but she'll connect me to the pharmacist. After I wait on hold for five minutes, some woman picks up the phone and then disconnects me. I call back and get transferred to a pharmacist. At first he tells me that I'm not in the system but when I tell him that Patti spoke with a pharmacist he miraculously finds me and tells me it'll be 3 hours to fill it. By then it was 4:30. At 7:30 tonight, I called Walgreens and it's not ready. They'll call me when it's done. Here we are at 8:10 pm, almost 12 hours since it was originally called in and I have nothing. Everything is screwed up now because the two pills he gave me this morning have not been followed up on. This is pathetic. I have already left CVS and Rite Aid for their horrible customer service but they're starting to look good compared to Walgreens which is pretty sad. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

I unfortunately feel compelled to write this review. As of January 1, 2020 my insurance dictates that I either use Walgreens in Atascadero even though I live in Los Osos, California. Last month I noticed one of my medications ran out prematurely. So this month I opened the sealed bag and opened the bottle to find 58 pill as opposed to the 90 listed in the bottle. Calling on a Saturday I was told to contact the manager on Monday, which I plan to do. My advise is if you must deal with the business make them count you pills in front of you. That is what I plan to do from now on. read more

There was only 1 cashier long long line. and poor girl only had 1 hand to work with her other hand was in a sling. she did the best she could with that 1 arm. the store was fully stock and good. just the poor girl I felt bad. read more

No help in the prescriptions department, the registers constantly on the blink, cannot hear you say anything through their window ( now everyone behind me knows everything I said dob, ect), took 1/2 hour to find my name and insurance info as the computer kept locking her out. Final result, no shingles shot, they wanted $204.00. I had no idea a shingles vaccine was not covered. Doesn't really make sense. Humana by Wal-Mart is crappy insurance and Walgreens doesn't help. Good RX is $172.00, still too much. read more

I would give this location 5 stars for the friendly staff who work the floor and the front register. They are all really kind hearted and friendly folks. But the staff in the pharmacy are really bad. Particularly the pharmacist named Justin. He is rude, impatient, and very condescending. Couple that with the fact that they seem to work so so so very slow and give twice as much attention to those in the drive through. There were 7 of us in line in the store and the lady working the drive through was talking with the customer in line outside for a good 5 minutes about everything and anything.. except the prescription being picked up. I respect the friendliness of this lady but when we are all waiting for long periods of time, i feel like speed of work would take precedence over friendly banter. I think I will have to start sending my scrips to Rite-Ad instead. read more

I was looking for vitamin C and Excedrin. The choice of vitamin brands is a bit tedious. I could not tell one brand from another. But then again, is there really any difference between brand A 1,000mg vitamin C, and brand B 1,000 mg vitamin C? A solid store. Clean, Well stocked. The front end employees are considerate and friendly. Parking is good. I like the ease of use of the Walgreens card member system. It is on a touch screen pad so I don;t have to shout my info over the counter. read more

I had an experience there a few months ago that left a very bad impression. I had previously bought some water filters here for $30 when I happen to be in town (I live in SLO). Turned out to be the wrong water filters so I had to drive all the way back to return them. When I was going through the process of returning them, the credit card reader seemed to be acting strange, like showing blank screens and long delays, but I got my receipt and it said the refund went through so I left. A couple weeks later, still no refund in my bank account. I drove BACK to Walgreens to speak to a manager, and THE MANAGER WOULDN'T EVEN COME OUT TO SPEAK TO ME! He told the cashier behind the counter that I should take it up with my bank. I asked twice, and the cashier refused to get the manager. All I wanted was to explain my experience with the credit card reader, show them my receipt, and ask them their thoughts on if they think the credit card reader was malfunctioning on that day. But they wouldn't even have the courtesy to come talk to me. Luckily, I bank with Chase, and they care about their customers. They did an investigation and concluded it was an error on Walgreen's part. But guess what? Chase still refunded me the $30 even though they weren't at fault! THAT'S how you treat customers. read more

Just when you think it couldn't get worse it does. Went in to just pick up a prescription wait 20 minutes, they hadn't processed one person in all that time. I left thinking I would come back later in the evening, only to find the inside pharmacy was closed, had to use the drive thru. The cost of my RX happens to be rather expensive, in some cases the cashier will check if there is a discounted price using another code, when I asked the cashier to check I was informed I would have to go on line to do my own checking. SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. My RX insurance is up for review I will not chose Walgreens as my primary pharmacy. read more

If I could leave zero stars for the pharmacy I would. The worst experience of my life. I received a call stating my RX was ready and spoke to the pharmacist and told her I'd be in later that day to pick up. Arrived that same day and was first told that my RX had already been picked up (not true), that maybe I went to the wrong place, then she stated that I had received an automated call (also not true spoke to a human), and she said I could wait so she could ask the person who worked in the am if they knew where my Rx was (waited an hour then left). Came in the next day and was told again my RX was picked up, maybe it went somewhere else, and at this point it was looking fraudulent blah blah blah. I called the distributing facility (a different Walgreens) and they stated it was delivered to the correct place and I should have no problems picking up. So I forced the pharmacist to speak to the distributor meanwhile another pharmacist is making snide remarks about me being confused and maybe Doordash had delivered it. WTF. I'm scathing at this point. The pharmacist finally looks in the bins and big surprise there it is a freaking clerical error. My RX had been misfiled. So, I was treated like garbage for no reason. Moral of the story don't come to this place for an RX they are incompetent and won't apologize even if they've made you feel like trash. I left upset to say the least. read more

I prefer Walgreens for my prescriptions because you get points. They were clean, bright, just like all the other Walgreens I've been to. The staff was friendly. The pharmacy staff was kind and helpful. I love that they're open 24 hours, but I'm sad that the closest Walgreens from me is in Atascadero. Wish there was in SLO. Other than that I have no issues. Well worth the drive to pick up my prescriptions. read more

This place is dangerous with respect to medication errors. Their computer shows script availability and they wind up contacting the incorrect provider. Then they stand there slack jawed and say you'll need to call the doctor to get it fixed. Simply unbelievably poor quality service. If you require accuracy and correct prescriptions, please for gosh sakes, use Rite Aid or CVS. read more

Dont buy a prepaid credit card there,,,staff did not diclose hidden fee the card charges every month,,,& then when I did not receive most expensive item I paid 4,,,Green Dot( my prepaid credit card) denied my dispute,,,I spent hours on hold/phone(asking for an explanation why it was denied)& never got an answer,,,& Walgreens would not assist me in this debacle read more

Pharmacy Review: I came here in the middle of the night for something to help bring my 5 month old daughter's fever down and help her cough, the pharmacist recommended giving her lemon and honey. When I told him I thought babies under 12 months could not have honey, he looked at me with bewilderment. He then recommended an OTC med that wasn't recommended for children under two. He was even upset that I was asking questions. Terrible customer service. read more

I went on Monday to get a Covid test via the drive thru pharmacy. I waited exactly 1 hour and 13 min before even getting to the window. The women who helped me was rude and more concerned about what was going on inside then at the window where there was a massive line of cars. I still haven't heard anything about my Covid test and it's been days, nobody is available to help me and nobody has any idea why I don't have results back yet. I went and got tested at the old train station yesterday, Wednesday, and I have already been contacted about my results. Also, it was not a rapid test it was a regular test. Seems strange to review a drug store, but this one is really great. They have a bit of everything. The photo department is always on time if not early, the staff is always friendly even when busy, and the drive up pharmacy is awesome- perfect for when you have sick kids in the car and REALLY don't want to take them inside. read more

An absolute nightmare! There are prescription bags on the FLOOR, if not on the floor then a complete mess on the shelves where theres no rhyme or reason to any of them with employees rummaging through them and making a further mess. The staff - Incompotent, rude, clueless, condescending behavior, and completely ignoring everyone in line because they cant find a damn thing. It is inexcusable and completely unprofessional to treat not only customers, but their prescriptions in this way. Shut this crap down and start over, Walgreens. read more

I witnessed a customer being treated rudely by a lady cashier in the pharmacy. The cashier was finished taking care of the drive through window and this customer needed behind the counter allergy med. inside the store. This cashier was sarcastic towards this elderly lady! Market store employees are super nice, always bring in another checker. The older woman who works the makeup counter (been there for years) Is so sweet and helpful she seems to enjoy her Job and always helps me find nail polish. Pharmacy: HORRIBLY RUDE. the pharm techs are busy so you get put on hold forever. They won't fill your Rx quickly. Even in the middle of the night from the ER. They don't let you pick any Rx up before you're completely out, narcotics I understand, seizure meds though!? read more

Update: when I called the doctor this morning to see if they could change the medication, they said that the pharmacy already called them and told them the problem. So I changed it from 1 star to 3 because they cared enough to try and fix it. Now they just need to hire happy people for the drive through. We have never liked this Walgreens due to the main lady who is always working the drive thru. She is always rude and short with everyone. She never smiles and doesn't invite questions. She also can't hear what you're saying through the phone, which might just be the phone, but still it makes it a frustrating visit each time. Today was the last straw. My husband has a severe allergy and it is in his file with them since many medications have this allergen. I even double checked with the pharmacist before pulling away today since this was a new medication, and they assured me it did not have the allergen. My husband knew that it actually did have the allergen right when he opened the pills and it should have been obvious to the person preparing them too. After looking it up and confirming it did have this ingredient, he called and talked to the pharmacist. He told him there is nothing he can do. He needs this medication now because of a severe tooth infection and his dentist is out of town for a week, so it will be difficult to have him call in another one now. I can't believe that the pharmacist can say with confidence that a pill doesn't have something that it clearly has when it involves a severe recorded allergy. We are moving all of our prescriptions to another pharmacy from now on. Very disappointing. read more

Checked out the turnaround time for Covid testing and it showed average turnaround time as around 48 hrs. They didn't disclose that the sample shipment times were in excess of 36 hrs back to the east coast and that the samples wouldn't be shipped until the next morning, wasting over 24hrs. If you're traveling with a 72 hr deadline for results, I recommend you use another company. FYI, the company received over $6mil of public funds to do these tests, but it doesn't look like they're very diligent about doing them in a timely manor. read more

STAY AWAY! Literally the worse pharmacy I have been to in my entire life. This place needs to rehire or shut down. It takes over an hour to get prescriptions or even anything from that place matter of fact. I have tried to get my prescriptions transfers to CvS and when CVS calls they are put on hold for over 30min then Walgreens told CVS I don't have an account with them..... Absurd. read more

Normally, I hate getting my prescription from Walgreens. But today, I had such a good experience. I didn't get her name, but, the pharmacy tech who helped me this afternoon was the best help I have ever had. (I was there 4/6/18 at 1:35pm. She's shorter, glasses, dark hair). She kept checking on my prescription to make sure it was done. She was very friendly and very helpful. I just hope she's my pharmacy technician every time I go in there. read more

Walgreens - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - Atascadero, California

My daughter takes some medication for generalized anxiety, panic attacks, anxiety attacks, OCD, major depressive disorder, etc. She ran out of one of the prescriptions for anxiety. Walgreens told her that the prescription couldn't be renewed yet so she made arrangements to get 10 pills so she could make it til she could renew the prescription. The 10 pills were not to go through the insurance company but would be out of pocket. I went with her to pick up the prescription, Walgreens had supposedly no information about this. So she calls Walgreens from the parking lot at 12:34 pm. They go through the same discussion and the prescription is to be ready in 90 minutes. In the meantime, she has to go to a 3 hr therapy session so after over 2 hours I go by to pick up the prescription. No deal. They claim I have to call the insurance company and get some special arrangement to get the prescription filled early. They absolutely refused to do anything. Apparently the not going through the insurance and paying out of pocket option is a lie told to my daughter not once but twice! So I have called the insurance and her doctor. Don't lie - it doesn't set well with the customers. read more

Normally very short-staffed, causing long waits in the line if you're in a rush. Their rewards if you check online are not accurate and if you change your phone number you lose all of your points. The 24-hour pharmacy is convenient because they're 24 hours, but if you are a pain patient stay far far far away. They have their own policies but do not follow doctor's or Insurance orders. They have a hard time communicating and it takes over 24 hours for them to get a straight answer. When filing in a complaint you must first message them only to receive a message back asking you to call a variety of numbers. Giving it a one-star because location is hard to reach. It may be on the corner but it's hard to get in and out of that corner at El Camino Real. read more

I drove to this pharmacy because its the only pharmacy in the County that my insurance company contracts with. Its horrible. They not only point out that you are the one at fault because you should have told the out of state branch you were on vacation (who knew ?), but that your original placed prescription was re-shelved after needing to ask for a partial prescription at the out of state pharmacy. They gal behind the counter could have cared less. It was just have a seat. They can't say your name I guess due to HIPPA laws, but to call out "you" your prescription is ready and we all look at each other.... really - LOL I hate arguing with people and it just doesn't matter anyways. The days of " the customer is always right" are long gone. Customer service was a "1" and I won't be going back. read more

She coordinated getting me replacement and a discount since my insurance wouldn't cover out of cycle. Drive they was quick! Would definitely be back. read more

Rudest pharmacist I've ever encountered in my 44 years of life! Understaffed, extremely long line just to drop off prescription. Then because Rx was written by an ER Dr. In another county, the pharmacist questioned me why we didn't fill it in the county where it was prescribed! First of all, it's not your business why! Secondly, I did not think I had to and I chose not to because my son's father died 2 days before and I had to drive 8 hours to pick up my son who was in crisis and didn't want to stay out of town because I didn't have the hotel money to do so and just wanted to get home as soon as possible! But what gave Walgreens pharmacist the right to even ask that! THEN she acts annoyed with us and starts tapping her fingers on the counter while we filled out our address! Walgreens your new pharmacist is a horrible person! She unnecessarily put a local family and long time client under duress during our time of crisis. She needs to be fired. We had the exact opposite treatment at CVS across the street! They were so wonderful and helpful. I will be transferring all of mine, my son's, and my husbands prescriptions to CVS immediately!
