I take a peek, there are about 11 people waiting. I ring again to ask how long do I have to wait at "EXPRESS" window, I am yelled at again, "DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION?" I said yes how long is "I will be right with you?" He yells at me AN HOUR AND A HALF" WOW, what geniuses work at this Walgreen, it is amazing, and the express window I am told does not mean shit, they Have to finish inside people then if there is nobody in line, they will be kind enough to attend to your need. I have completely changed my view of this establishment and I seriously hope that someone that has some sort of stature over there does something about what I'm about to say. My dog is epileptic and was in dire need of a second medication to control his seizures. This pharmacy was the first place that my dad decided to take his prescription to because it was closest to our house. Now I don't know if this lady that quoted my dad looked up the wrong medication or if she was trying to make a lot more money off of us than the medication was worth, either way, if you're working in an establishment where there are controlled substances and someones life is in your hands by dealing out the medicine, then you need to do your job the right way. The tech here quoted my dad at $544 for 190 capsules of an anti convulsant medication (it starts with a Z and I can't remember the complete name of it). He had her call the pharmacist over who backed up her quote. OH EM GEE. It's places like these where people go and they realize that they can't afford their medication so either they or their loved one is going to die because its unaffordable. I'm sorry that I can't get health insurance for my pet. Either this "credible" pharmacy tech either looked up the wrong medication, which is still not okay to do given you've graduated from a credible place stating that you are qualified to give medication to patients, or they were trying to rip us off. Either way, I seriously hope that this tech is fired from her job and that the pharmacist has his license taken away. I just can't believe that! On another note, we took that same prescription over to Person's Pharmacy in Glendale and were given the same exact medication for $67.00. Throughout the store you can hear her singing laughing with customers joking around yet still getting her things done. Waited in line for 30 minutes, everyone in line was also frustrated & upset, when I finally left with my Claritin-D, AFTER taking ONE, I noticed it was expired 7/18. It is now 11/18. Had to go back to the drive thru & return them, & wait an additional 10 minutes for a manager to come & resolve my issue. Can't believe they sold me expired Claritin. So irritated!! By far the best walgreens i have ever been to. The pharmacist was the most helpful and attentive one ever! He was so courteous and interested in our specific medication needs and even suggested another brand that was cheaper and would probably work better than the one we had in our cart. I called to ask if I could transfer a prescription here because I was going out of town before my pharmacy opened and my refill was due on this date. Had they said it wasn't possible, I would've just transferred the prescription to a pharmacy near where I'm traveling. Instead, the pharmacist (or whoever answered) asked what medication and then gave me a huge amount of attitude making me feel as though I was a drug addict. This was being filled following a HOSPITAL admission. He had no right to give any judgement and was extremely unprofessional. When I moved to Burbank from Glendale, I had to find a new pharmacy. I use to go to Longs Drugs which had a great pharmacy and friendly service, the guy always remembered who I was when I came in. I tend to avoid CVS and Rite Aid, they always have a ton of people in line and whenever I go to drop off a new prescription I am waiting 15 minutes while they walk back and forth past me, ignoring me. So I go to Walgreens. The drive through is busy sometimes but that's not why I give it 2 stars. The people who work there are even actually pretty friendly. So why 2 stars? I ALWAYS call ahead if I do refills. For the most part, the automated phone call comes if they are out of stock, but a few times it said it was ready, then when I came it wasn't. I have also had issues with my refills. A few times I noticed that instead of refills, my prescription said "needs dr. authorization" which I didn't understand why. Then I finally realized when I went to go refill something that should have had 4 refills and they told me I had none and that's why I need Dr. authorization. The pharmacist was screwing up and putting that I had no refills left. This happened to me before, but it never clicked with me because they would call my doc who would just give me one more refill. This ticks me off because it also means I went to the doctor, paying out of my pocket, to get more refills when I didn't need to. If it wasn't a pain to drive there, I would still be going to Longs Drugs in Glendale. read more

I used to go to the Walgreens Pharmacy in North Hollywood, CA. The pharmacist there was awesome!! I've been using the Burbank Walgreens since we moved last July. During the time I've used them, I've experienced less than exceptional service. At one point I was taking a more expensive and less common prescription that they had to order. I set-up the phone reminder service and got a reminder. Nine days later I went to pick up my prescription and they had given it away to someone else. I was stunned, you gave away my prescription to someone else??? They said that it had been there for 10 days. I informed them that I had received the phone call 9 days before. But, they couldn't do anything, they had already given it away and would have to order another one. Since it's a drug that's set to a schedule I needed it ASAP, but it would still take them a few days to get it. I was livid. My old pharmacist would never have done this. The woman at the counter could have cared less. The pharmacist did pull me to a different window and apologized. In addition, their prescription reminder phone service does not always call me on a regular basis. There have been a few times when I have never received a call. At my old pharmacy I would get 2-3 reminder calls to pick it up. Also, there is always a long line at the front counter of this store. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. I was forced to switch to Walgreens years ago b/c my insurance changed. Their customer service is horrid and their (supposed) ability to get meds I need is atrocious. I just now spent almost 50 minutes waiting to speak with someone at the pharmacy and have pics to prove it. Told "just a minute." Called the store x2 after waiting 36 mins and told they would help me. Both Sarah and Miguel (two leads there) only transferred me back to the hold line. Through the years, the pharmacy staff hasn't cared that I have allergies and sometimes need them to special order things. Infrequent, ill attempts. Rude. I woke up to excruciating pain and rushed over to the ER, turns out I had a kidney stone. I couldn't believe how horrible that experience was, so I head over to Walgreens after the CVS across the street told me they didn't have the medication I needed. Any who I show up and hand them the prescriptions, the girl working the counter verified they had the medicine in stock and said to come back in 45 minutes. I head home and figure I'd give them a little more time, so I waited an hour and a half before heading over to pick up the meds. I finally show up and I wait in this long line (which took another 20 minutes because one person works the drive thru and then walks around for 10 minutes before helping the next car in line) and the other person helps the long line of walk in customers. Finally this young kid calls me up and asks what I needed, I told him my name and he says my prescription is not yet ready...keep in mind it's been almost 2 hours since I originally dropped off my prescription, when they originally said 45 minutes. At this point I'm in a ton of PAIN, I'm not sure if you've ever had a kidney stone but it isn't fun at all. I sit at this location for another HOUR AND 20 minutes waiting for them to have my prescription ready!!! I'm extremely livid and feel like I'm going to snap so I get up and ask about my meds, only for the kid to grab them from bin. So essentially I was waiting for nothing for god who knows how long. I grabbed my bags and left, I moved to Burbank a few months ago and i never had any issues with the pharmacy in Pasadena but this place should be avoided at all cost. This review is for the nightmare pharmacy: Hey! You guys remember that scene in Beetlejuice where we get a glimpse of the Netherworld waiting room? Whelp, if you ever wondered what it would be like to be in that room, look no more! My 15 min wait for a prescription turned into 50 minutes. Normally, I'm a fairly patient person who can resort to perusing through books while I wait. But considering I was curled up, weak, and visibly shivering from a fever, my patience was running low. While I waited tho, did I see some interesting displays from the employees! This is certainly one of those places where customer service is confused with doing you a favor. An old asian lady with a thick accent kept asking the guy behind the counter about her medicines, if the quantities were right, and because there were so many, if he could separate them in two different bags. Throughout all of this, you could hear the sound of this man's eyes rolling as he separated her medication, smirked in the most condescending fashion when "listening" to her concerns, and made sure to be REALLY loud when tossing (this is not an exaggeration, btw) those meds into the bags. Seriously, if you hate your job don't take it out on the poor old lady who was being respectful through it all. Seeing as I was being forgotten in those corner seats, I stood in line again. Lupe (I believe that was her name) came to the "rescue". She got my medications and I gave her a separate prescription for another medicine that was apparently behind her. She tells me that I can find that on aisle whatever. I waltz over to get it but notice that on my prescription it says "D" rather than "DM". Another employee that was incredibly helpful (thus the bonus star) tried to help me find it but was nowhere in sight. I go back to the pharmacy to speak to the head lady and she tells me that they have that one on their side. She calls out Lupe on it, and no joke, she replies, "Oooh... it only has a D? Umm, do the letters really matter?" Oh. My. God. Good to know that the Angel of Death works at this Walgreen's. Be wary, folks, for the sake of your health and your family's. They are in man and woman working the Sunday night shift I guess (it's almost 10pm) we're so helpful helping me find the one product I was looking for... which was nail glue. I needed a lightweight, portable, folding wheelchair for my mom. On line I found options from $600 - $1300.00! The woman at Walgreens recommended the Fly-Lite Aluminum Transport Chair. I had to go on-line to order it. It came within a few days and has been perfect for my mom. Its pretty blue plaid fabric make it feel less medicinal. It required minimal assembly, folds easily and my mom says it's quite comfortable. The price was great - only $169.00 + shipping and tax. read more

My daughter and family live in Burbank, while I live in the Austin, Texas area. Each year, I visit them for at least a month. I take a number of prescriptions and on occasion need to have them filled here. On at least two prior occasions, I had the misfortune to use this pharmacy, and decided to check the reviews to verify that things had changed. I was aghast to learn that they hadn't, and wanted to chime in on my experience at this store. In the past, I opted not to bother since I was not a regular customer, but noting that nothing has changed, I think it is important to warn others that these problems are not an aberration, they are persistent and ongoing. In addition, I am dubious about the people who could possibly give this pharmacy a good rating, let alone five stars. It is time consuming to write an honest review, and as one can see, numerous customers have such a bad experience that they take their precious time to write lengthy reviews about their experience with this location, so that you are forewarned. The only reason that I have given them one star is because I can't give them less. If I could, I would give them, at the very most, a -10. I am not exaggerating when I say that, in my six decades, this is the worst customer service encounter that I've ever had. I have NEVER been to a pharmacy, or other business, with such atrocious customer service, and who treated the customer without compassion, concern, or professionalism. On my visits there, not one person exhibited anything but disdain and hostility toward the customer. It is clear that these people loathe their jobs, and should not be in any customer service capacity. They act as if they are doing the customer a favor by filling their prescription, and seem to forget that the only reason that they are getting a paycheck is because of the customer. I should have known that I was wrong when I walked up to the pharmacy, and there were, at least, six people in line ahead of me. I have a chronic pain condition and the longer that I stand, the worse the pain gets. Nevertheless, I had no choice but to stand, because in addition to the people in line, all of the chairs were taken, and there were more people standing up while waiting. There were two people working because one decided to take her lunch break, with all of the customers waiting. She was interested in herself, and refused to allow us to interfere with her lunch plans. She was one of the pharmacists! Within minutes, I noticed that everyone in the line had a disgusted look on their face. I asked the woman in front of me how long she had been waiting and she told me 45 minutes and that others had been there for over 1 1/2 hours. My heart sunk because I knew that my son-in-law was waiting for me. By this time, everyone in line was complaining. The person who was being served was irate, because not only had she been waiting forever, her prescriptions were wrong, and to make matters worse, the Walgreens representative did not utter a word of apology for the long wait or mistake. In fact, she was belligerent and unprofessional. The customer asked for her name, and the name of the store supervisor because she was going to contact upper management. Not only did she refuse to provide the information, she was not the least bit concerned about the customer's threats. By this time, others in the line were ranting and demanding the same information because they too were going to complain about the less than abysmal service. They asked for the pharmacist, and to my horror, she was as bad as the pharmacy technician. People were yelling out of justified anger and frustration, and we were told that the store manager was unavailable. When I finally reached the front of the line, after at least 30 minutes waiting, the pharmacy technician asked for my name in a hostile and gruff manner. I mentioned the long wait time and she looked at me derisively, and did not utter a word of apology. She threw my prescription on the counter, rang it up and told me to pay. Afterwards, with a thank you, she walked away. I was shocked at how I, and others, had been treated. After seeing that this pharmacy has not changed one bit, I am taking my business elsewhere. I refuse to give my money to any business who is so callous in its treatment of the customer. Having to take medication is bad enough, but being forced to put up with such treatment is ten times worse. I would not recommend this pharmacy to my worse enemy. Run, do not walk, in another direction. You will leave this pharmacy angry and stressed. It is not worth it. read more

I'm not one for complaining a lot about small things but I have to speak up when something is completely unacceptable so other people are warned. *Don't use this pharmacy* I needed meds filled for after a surgery I had just had in the morning. Dropped off the prescription at 12:30 pm and they said they had to verify with the prescribing MD that the script was legit. Ok fine, I can handle precautions for narcotics. Long story short- I had to call the MDs office to get them to talk to the pharmacy at 4:30 pm. Checked back in with the pharmacy at 5 for an update and they told me my meds wouldn't be ready till after 7 pm. So just to recap---dropped off prescription at 12:30 pm----meds were actually ready at 6 pm. And it only even got done, because I got the doctors office to call them. They never called. read more

He was awesome, friendly and took his time to explain things, he helped me use the touch screen (first time using it) he got me the exact pictures I needed and the size I needed. He was also able to cut my print time from the regular 30 min to about 5min since I was in such a rush. Thank you Cody. When I think of drugstores in my neighborhood that I would visit on an as-needed basis, this Walgreens is #2 on my list (#1 being the CVS on Olive on the way home from work). Not only is this place convenient (and next door to Trader Joes, so it makes it sort of a one-stop shopping), but I've consistently found I've been able to grab what I need and get in and out in record time. They do a lot of my photo printing here, too, and that has always been satisfactory (I just place my order online and pick up after an hour). I read poor service reviews here and while I can understand that happening, I've never had a problem getting someone in the store to help me to find something, and I have consistently friendly cashiers every time. So, I like this Walgreens. I grew up in a town that only had a Walgreens, so maybe I'm bias. read more

And when I went to pick up my photos (at the given time) they said they wouldn't be ready for over another hour with no apology. This location at San Fernando Road and Alameda Avenue in Burbank is open 24/7. No matter what time of day I come in I appreciate the warm "Welcome to Walgreens" greeting I receive when I walk in. I find just about everything I need at this Walgreens and I often find bargains. I especially appreciate the friendly and helpful staff like Donald and Tammy. They genuinely care that I get everything I need and they always answer any questions I have.
