Wallgreens really needs to monitor her behavior, I've watched her treat patients terribly and she violated Hippa in my situation, I reported her twice to upper management and also called a number on the back of there cards, NOTHING has happened, not even a follow up call, nor did they do anything. Walgreens prices for drugs purchased using GoodRx coupons (highly recommended if insurance doesn't cover it) are about 2 to 3 times as high as CVS and Safeway, sometimes even higher. The lines are long and the service is awful. They have reduced their hours. Highly unrecommended. read more

Great service and location. My friend's car battery died but we initially thought it was due to a dead key fob so I had to Uber it here for those CR2032 wafer batteries. Batteries are behind the counter so I had to request one plus a Monster and a plastic container of mangos. Ease of checkout was easy, staff were nice, and good parking. This place is so bad it's almost comical, I created a photo album online, when I collected it they had put the photos in the wrong order, normally this wouldn't bother me but the album was made specific to what order you viewed the photos, they made a new album the next day and when I opened it, the pages fell out, just a pathetic effort at creating an album. This is the short of the story, I could write a 1000 words about the actual customer service experience, I don't like to name and shame as everyone has a bad day but on the two times I went there to get the "photo albums" the guy was weird and rude. If you hate your job that much find another one Meena. The manager was also a bit of a fool when they were trying to figure stuff out. This is my neighborhood Walgreens and, just as the rating scale indicates, it's OK. As many have already mentioned, the layout is really odd. I've been coming here for over a year and still get lost trying to find simple items, like toilet paper and tooth brushes. Also, what's the point of a 24-hour pharmacy if they're often out of the drugs that you need? In the last few months, I've had to either wait the next day for prescriptions OR have them transfer to the San Mateo location. If you want them to do so, pitch a fit... otherwise the pharmacist will tell you that you can wait. Frankly, sometimes it can't wait, like an inhaler for someone with pneumonia or Cippro for a UTI. Just sayin'! Other than that, it's a pretty standard Walgreens - cosmetics, food, household items, toiletries. After 6 pm and on Sundays parking is free. Otherwise, bring some change 'cause even their dedicated parking lot is metered. read more

I initially used the Walgreens app to try to order a prescription refill at the Broadway Walgreens but it kept saying the pharmacy was "temporarily closed". I finally figured out that there wasn't a pharmacist available so I transferred my prescription to this Walgreens. After waiting all day for my prescription I proceeded to cancel my order. The next morning I check the app and it said that my order was "processed". I then went down to this Walgreens to pick it up but the girl said it was just received and it would take an hour. She confirmed my phone number and said that they would text me. After 2-1/2 hours I called to see what was going on since I did not receive a text message. They said it was ready for pick up. I then drove down there again to pick it up and asked if they sent me a message but the girl just had a blank look on her face and did not answer me. The staff is extremely unfriendly and NOT customer oriented. I will be transferring my prescriptions to CVS! read more

3:00 AM in the morning, our child is sick, coughing terribly!!! Our pediatrician calls in for a prescription, the pharmacist in walgreens creates a problem assuming that this whole thing might be a drug-gang related scam; he first refuses to accept our pediatrician presciption, then he says our pediatrician might be drug addict, and we might be part of her gang and go to the pharmacy at 3:00 am in the morning to get the cough medicine to feed her drug addiction." OH MY LORD, WHERE DO WE LIVE??? I told him that, I was going to complain about this insane behaviour, and he was so cool about it. He welcomed me to do so, gave me the name of the store manager, even told me to go to the supreme court if I want to complain further. After discussing for 30 minutes he approved for 10cc (one dose) of the cough syrup. Thank God for That!!! Both our pediatrician and us were speechless due to his unreasonable comments, rudeness, and accusations. I will talk to the store manager of course, but please stop using walgreens as your pharmacy, they do NOT even answer their phone lines any more. Recently. whenever I call Walgreens to talk to the pharmacist or the technician, I am usually on hold for at least 45 min. to an hour. Furthermore, many times they cannot find the refills of our medications and/our denying the facts that we even have refills despite our doctor approvals. They once give a wrong medication to my daughter, I am glad that I am a careful person and I noticed it immediately. They said they were "Sorry!!" This was the drop that spilled the cup for us though!!! If it wouldn't be 3:00 am in the morning, we wouldn't be calling Walgreens, regrettably it was the ONLY option we had at that time! If you want a good pharmacy go to the small ones, believe me there are still good ones around who treats you with respect and greets you with a smile, and even with your name and NEVER TREATS YOU or your doctor like a drug addict, or gives you a wrong medication. Please STOP GOING TO WALGREENS!!! If we DO NOT STOP going there, they will never have the opportunity to learn from their mistakes. Sadly, this is NOT only the Walgreens in Burlingame BUT ALSO the one in San Mateo too. Recently most Walgreens Pharmacies lost their professionalism, this is why they lost our trust and our business too as a community. read more

As Walgreens go, it's OK. It feels a bit small, so perhaps they won't have absolutely everything you're looking for... or, it may be out of stock. That said you can find most of what you'd want or need in a drug store. It feels a bit like a convenience store -- it's heavy on the snacks, drinks, and candy, while still offering a decent amount of OTC stuff if you're on the Ave and in need of, say, some antihistamines or aspirin before you head home. The folks working here are friendly, but the line for cashiers is a bit confusing. People have jumped the line a few times when I've been in there. You can get your Clipper card here. read more

I think they do a great job with what they have to work with. At times they are busy and you'll need to wait to pay but I think that is the only issue. Otherwise the staff is very friendly and fast. And some are mean spirited too. The manager is clueless as to how to take care of a regular customer. As in they come in everyday to spend money. They do carry some of the odd stuff for a pharmacy. They also have great sales on food and candy. I go in there almost everyday and buy something that is on sale. read more

I walked in at 7:40 am and no one was at the front. I waited for 3 minutes and no employees in sight. I had to walk around the store and find someone to help me. I finally found someone to assist me at for a photo pickup. She told 5 mins searching for my photos and gave up, called for help. The next employee found it in 2 mins. So, this in process took 12 minutes to pick up photos at 7:40 am with no one in the store. This is the worst staff I've even seen at Walgreens. I will never order or shop at this location again. It's too bad that the employees didn't have their name tags on so I can properly identify them as the most brightest people I've had a pleasure of meeting. That's a joke!!!!! Idiots! read more

One of the worst pharmacies on the peninsula! The pharmacy employees I spoke with were rude, argumentative and over worked. The fact that they are over worked does not exclude them from acting in a civilized manner. My last experience exemplifies the crass and rude behavior of the staff. I called for a refill. The next day I called to see if it was ready to pick up. They said they never received the request. Ok, so the phone system was at fault. Instead of accepting that fact, the pharmacy employees lied, and told me they had faxed the doctor and he didn't respond. That was why it wasn't ready to pick up. After two more calls and checking with the doctor, walgreens changed their story and now stated that they faxed the doctor after my phone calls, not before. So, when they told me that the doctor was faxed prior to my call and didn't respond, that was a lie. On top of getting lied to, they were loud, very aggressive and accusatory. Calling the doctor a lier, and essentially calling me a lier by not accepting that I called in the day before. They then hung up on me. I called back and I spoke with the pharmacy manager. Like her employees she was loud, argumentative and accusatory. In fact, she also called the doctor a lier. She then also hung up on me. Obviously, professionalism is not their strong point. The real problem is they do not take responsibility for the mistakes created by their system. Mistakes happen, but to ignore the mistakes is not acceptable. Instead of doing their jobs, and simply correcting these mistakes they argue and and lie and pit the patient against the doctor. If it wasn't for my doctor getting involved this pharmacy would have literally refused to do their duty and fill my prescription. I can't imagine a more indefensible act as a pharmacist than refusing to fill a prescription. read more

5 million stars for Allan and David at the 24-hour pharmacy. I had just experienced a lovely trip at the Emergency Room and by the time I was released it was about 10:00pm and I was on a hunt for a 24-hour pharmacy in the area to get my urgent prescriptions filled. Now, since I JUST came from the ER- literally still wearing my hospital bracelet as some sort of memento that I came out alive- I rushed to the first 24-hour pharmacy I could find and as luck would have it, I did not have my insurance card in my purse. I hoped to Jesus that they would have my insurance info on file but of course, they didn't. I knew my card was at home somewhere so I asked if perhaps my husband could fax a copy or just read the number, and I had him call Allen at the pharmacy. While eventually my husband found my insurance card at home and gave the info to Allan at the pharmacy, Allen informed me there was another problem. My prescription wasn't covered by my insurance. I asked if they could substitute for a generic and he said that they could only substitute any other if specifically noted on the order. So I suggested if I could maybe call the ER and see if they prescribe something that was covered, and Allan said I could try. Once I got the ER Doctor on the line, I handed my cell phone to Allan who handed it to David (the pharmacist) to see what they could substitute since my albuterol prescription wasn't covered. David said, "If they don't cover this, what DO they cover? Do they just want her to go off and die?" That was a bit harsh comment but he wasn't talk bad about me, lol.. The important part is that he took the time to talk to my ER doctor brainstorming what other alternatives they could give me while Allan punched in the items on the keyboard to see if each one was covered. XOPENEX. The most expensive of all 4. Bingo. I'm not sure what normal pharmacy protocol is but I sort of felt like they went above and beyond and there was almost customer service going on here which is something you don't usually get at a pharmacy. Maybe it's because they weren't busy and there were no other customers but In my mind, they could have just easily said, "Your prescription isn't covered. Pay us out of pocket or go away without your medicine." which is how I generally feel about the health care industry- but instead I kind of felt that Allan and David really cared about their job and helped me so that I did not have to pay out of pocket and I was able to get my prescriptions successfully filled and on my way, and HAPPY! instead of doing the bare minimum of robotically filling prescriptions without a care or a smile like CVS does. I highly recommend Walgreens 24-Hour Pharmacy. Thank you Allan and David!!!! read more

The staff visibly acts quickly for customer questions. I'm always pleased to see that even in heavy after school or work traffic, they always have several registers open at both ends of the store. Very well stocked and gladly come here for all my home needs rather than the poor-serviced and under-stocked CVS. It's not much different to most other locations. I like that it's 24hr (pharmacy, too!), plus right on El Camino and the Avenue. Burlingame needed a convenient store, and thank goodness they opened this one up! Clean place, decently organized, helpful staff. They always have my Diet Arizona Green Tea on stock (the regular's too sweet for my taste), and since I'm always on the go and don't have time to browse, it was really nice of the cashier to give me the discount as per their ad on their Arizona drinks (2/$1, original price 99 cents). Thank you! Their restroom is located by the entrance on the parking lot side, not the stop light side, just FYI. read more

The old store was so much better. This new store is tiny and laid out weird. The aisles aren't big enough for 2 carts to be in at once, so if someone else in the aisle, you're just stuck there. There's also no more free parking and no decent sidewalk on the parking lot side. Go down to the one on Broadway. Way better. read more

Worst Walgreens I have ever been to. Severely understaffed. Workers are there are incredibly slow and generally ineffective. Managers do not seem to understand the magnitude of how bad they really are. Does not matter what time of day you go -- there are never enough staff. They just suck. My 19 year old son who lives with me has had his insulin prescription filled at Walgreen's for the past 13 or more years. Recently, I was in L.A. visiting my daughter and we were at Disneyland when my son called me in tears because they said that his insurance wasn't covering his insulin. The pharmacist - an Asian lady between the age of 50-60 - wanted him to pay $85.00 for a bottle of insulin. He told them he was completely out and had only ten dollars on him and that his parents were both in Socal - you see he was diagnosed at the age of two and has been on an insulin pump for the past 8 years. She called his Doctor''s office at UCSF to get the prescription filled and one of the kind and generous staff at the pediatric endocrine clinic offered to pay for the bottle because as I mentioned before my son didn't have $85.00 for the co-pay. The pharmacist - refused to take the payment over the phone because it was with a credit card. My son was crying and asked her - " What do I do die?" (He will indeed die without insulin - he has type I or juvenile diabetes) She told him to go to the county emergency room!!! I can't tell you how angry and helpless I felt listening to my son cry because he thought he was going to die and had nowhere to go for help! Now I ask you this - don't you think that a normal human being would choose saving a nineteen year olds life over an $85.00 bottle of insulin? Don't you think she could have made a judgement call and taken the kind staff member at UCSF's credit card information to pay for the insulin? Or, at the very least shouldn't she have given my son the bottle of insulin (remember, he wasn't a new patient) and allowed him to take care of the insurance ( he had new insurance from an employer) situation when I got home for LA? I am outraged at the pharmacy and pharmacist and I am hoping to possibly file a lawsuit or anything else to make sure this never happens again! If there is anyone who would be able to help me and my son with any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. read more

Over-all a small, clean, and organized drugstore for Burlingame. Here you will find all your basic needs. They seem short staff, or just don't care. There are plenty of people around that can help you but do not seem to want to open up another register. I have noticed this in the Pharmacy and checking out of the store. For the Pharmacy there were 4 people in line, one person helping someone with a million questions and problems, and about 6 people standing around in the back of the Pharmacy talking. There is also no free parking here, not that its a huge deal but their parking lot is all meters. This can suck with the above problem because I thought 15 minutes was enough, however with the slow lines and lack of help I was in there 25. So warning to put enough money in the meter. Its not like you can jump out of line. Lucky for me I didn't get a ticket. Very stressful. Actually I just removed another star even thinking about it read more

The pharmacist was completely rude and unprofessional. I came in on Monday, 12/11 to have a prescription filled for a "controlled substance" and the pharmacist refused to refill it. About 2 weeks ago there is a new form that is needed for doctors to use while they write prescriptions. My doctor ordered the new forms but they have not come in yet. He's also old school and works from his home office and does not have the capability for e-script. After being told by the pharmacist she won't fill my prescription I called my doctor and had her talk to him. Again she was extremely rude to him and he mentioned this not only will affect me but all of his other patients. She did not care. She does NOT care about the health and wellness of the customers who come in to get their prescriptions filled for medical needs. Turns out I went to CVS and they were able to fill my prescription without any issue. I will be a loyal CVS customer moving forward. read more
