I have been getting my medications from this Walgreens pharmacy location for over 20 years. They were open 24 hours which made it convenient and my prescriptions were always ready within a few hours. Starting late 2021, things started to change. They shortened their hours to close at 9pm which was still ok. Gradually, it's taken longer to fill my medications and the lines kept getting longer. It is normal to spend 45 minutes to an hour or even longer in line whether you are in the store or at the drive through. They have now shortened their hours even further to close at 6pm. Plus, the past few weeks, the pharmacy has been closed in the middle of the day mid week. I waited on the phone for over an hour to talk to someone who never answered. I then drove there to find them closed, so that's why no one answered my call. Walgreens corporate really needs to address this situation. I'm sure other people like me are not getting their prescriptions in a timely manner. They failed to initiate a medication transfer from CVS. 48 hours later, blamed CVS, but it was their failure to transfer the medications. I went face to face, because they won't answer the phones! When I arrived to pick up the medications, they told me they were "too busy" to initiate the transfer or apologize. We are out of meds., and I was told to handle it on my own. This pharmacy needs a crash course in customer service. Another Walgreens pharmacy set me up with a rebate card for one of my monthly prescriptions. They said I wouldn't need to do anything again, it would be on my profile and when I refill that prescription it would automatically deduct my co-pay. Well, I just got home from picking up my refill from the drive-through and discovered I was charged the full co-pay. When I called, the woman on the phone said oh, yes you're right but you should've said something. Really? So as the customer, it's my responsibility to make sure you do your job correctly? #Fail. Making matters worse, they won't just credit my card over the phone... apparently I have to drive back there with the receipt to get a credit. I'll do that... And that will be the last time I ever use that Walgreens pharmacy. Little things like this are the difference between a good customer experience and a fail. I have been in the drive through for 40 minutes and they have served 5 or more people inside. I can see through the window from my car. I am not able to go inside. This is the worst I have ever experienced at a pharmacy. Why world they care though, Walgreens obviously doesn't care. Customer service has gone out the window. This location has great staff. They are really helpful throughout the store specifically in the photo dept and pharmacy. Crystal the Pharmacist as well as Brenda, Crystal and Princessa are excellent Pharmacy Techs. They have been our favorite pharmacy for many years! I am always greeted by my name and always get help with pricing and any questions that I may have re prescriptions and side effects. They have hepled my 91 year old father and myself for many years and were and remain very friendly both during and after my Cancer treatment 3 1/2 years ago. They are really busy duriing season but do there best to expedite service. They should be recognized for their excellent service! read more

Worst service. I had a scheduled appointment with a pharmacist. I got a reminder the day before my appointment. The day of my appointment the pharmacy is closed due to lack of pharmacist. Although they do have a pharmacy department manager, the store didn't consider being decent and contacting all persons with appointments to cancel and reschedule them. If I could give it no stars I would. Worst customer service experience I have ever had. Here is the background: I had some ailments from the night before and this was the closest drug store open at 7 am. I stood in line five people deep with I as the second person in line. The person in front had issues with signage so the "manager" tried to open a register. Instead of calling the next person in line she finally opens a register and says, "I can help someone". Common courtesy and customer service would dictate that you help the next person in line. So instead of getting me in and out and ready for work and trying to get my daughter to school I was 4th in line! What the heck? I told the person, "You know, this is terrible customer service". She used the excuse that their systems were not working right. There are NEVER any excuses for poor customer service. I work in the customer service industry so I know customer service. Even Walmart takes the "next person in line" when they open up a new register and Walmart scored a dismal 70 on their most recent customer service independent rating. I will NEVER visit Walgreens again. They have lost a customer for life and I am telling you now, if you need to go to a drug store, pass on this one. If I had a twitter account I would complain there. I know my yelp review will post to my FB so Facebook friends, please consider a different drug store when making a purchase. I also let the customer service representative have an ear full this morning when I called them to file a formal complaint. Customer service starts with the manager and trickles down. I was so upset with their customer service but 3 years latee and I met 3 excellent customer representatives there. 1st was Angelique who even on her lunch break answered a question for me. i have been using the walgreens.com web site to reorder my prescriptions and having walgreens fill my prescriptions for many years now, but just the other day i had to forward them all over to cvs. you see, for the past 6 months or so i have had nothing but problems getting my prescriptions filled by my corner walgreens pharmacy located at 33975 date palm drive in cathedral city california. over and over again, they have reported problems with my insurance declining prescription requests. apparently, this walgreens location has been failing to contact either my insurance provider OR my doctor's office when a prescription is denied instead of following-up with either. so then my prescriptions would not ever get filled, and would be "reset" to an unordered state. one of the many issues that i suffer from is major depressive disorder, and all of this did not help me through the holidays at all - neither mentally, physically OR spiritually. the staff of this pharmacy location were never anything short of rude and uncooperative at all... according to my doctor's office, they have had nothing but trouble getting this specific walgreens pharmacy to work with them on other patient's matters also. a friend suggested i try cvs, so i transferred one prescription to them that my local walgreens claimed couldn't be filled over and over again (testosterone gel).. not only did that one get filled within a couple of hours over at cvs, a plethora of other prescriptions which this walgreens claimed over and over again wasn't covered by my insurance were ALL filled and covered by my insurance the same day i had the prescriptions transferred to cvs. i cannot tell you how frustrating and defeating my experience with this specific walgreens pharmacy has been. i honestly feel that their ill handling of my prescription matters were needlessly neglectful, and i also feel that these employees have been tampering with my wellness and health. i will never do business with walgreens ever again. that being said, my doctor's office (and others) have suggested that i pursue legal action against walgreens over all of the intense suffering i went through over the last six months, not being able to take the medicines which i was prescribed AND INSURED FOR WITH A LITTLE FOLLOW-UP, and i think that i agree with them on this. please let me know that your corporate management will at least take a very close look at the operations in place at your 33975 date palm drive, cathedral city california pharmacy location. I have been using this pharmacy for as long as I can remember. Everyone has been so pleasant and I've never had an issue until I recently visited the pharmacy, usually they are sp busy and there's a wait. This particular time it was mid day and not busy at all. I have never been treated so rudely in my life!! The gal that helped me that day by the name of Crystal was not only sooo rude, but a smartalec. She did not greet me as I stood there waiting while she answered at least 3 phone calls and chatting with one of the other gals there about personal issues. I get it to chat, but loud enough for customers to hear the conversation is not professional at all and after the transaction was finished she pretty much through my change at me and when some of it fell off the counter didn't even apologize and when I asked what her name was to speak to the manager she showed me her name badge with a smerk on her face like she was laughing at me. The attitude I got from her it's surprising she's still employed anywhere!! Just might change pharmacies after this experience!! read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever worked with. Not only do they put you on eternal hold but they will not check messages left from prescribers. When you're on hold, they will pick up the phone and then immediately put it back on hold again. Waited 15+ minutes before giving up. Occurred once around 10pm and again around 9am the next day demonstrating that it seems to be widespread practice within the pharmacy and not just one individual. I would do a negative 10 if I could. 2nd in line and it was getting longer behind me. Cashier was dealing with a typical customer that wants to use coupons so the cashier called for backup after 5 minutes. The manager comes right up and rung sup the person in front of me. After them he had to help the other cashier with the coupons. He then called next and walks away back to the coupon lady. I set my stuff up and wait a minute and the cashier came over to jump on my register. Well she had to go give a customer in line a mask cause they did not have one on. Red flag right there. Good thing is that I believe he was a supervisor comes up to jump on. Nope on the empty register next to me and starts ringing up the next customer. I work corporate for a big retail chain and I NEVER let my stores do that, nor not letting the customers know we will be with you in a minute. I see why the reviews are low on here. read more

I ordered a refill on a heart medication. The pharmacy called the next morning (automated) and said my prescription was ready to pick up. I went through the world's slowest drive-through, only to be told by the pharmacist, a student I think, that the doctor had refused to refill the order until I came in for an examination. I called the doctor...they informed me that the pharmacy never called. Not my first bad experience here.
