Not happy with this store. I was planning to use my OTC card in Walgreens ...I spent time shopping. Went to checkout, put my card in, and it didn't work...I ended not making the purchase. I was also going to purchase hair dye. ...it was supposed to have a $2. Off coupon...which I couldn't find on my phone....didn't purchase that either. When I got home, I called my OTC insurance...I thought that I had tried to use the wrong card....but that was not the case...just ordered items through them. Well, this Walgreens is on Washington so that's your first cue that this place is not in the safest area of town. I got out of my vehicle to walk inside and I'm not kidding, around 7 pm there were two men in different cars who parked their vehicles at weird angles in the parking lot, had gotten out of their cars and were screaming at each other, threatening for the other to come fight. I guess this isn't really the store's fault, just something to be hyper aware of. Once inside, the employees were really nice and helped me print my photos. I received a prescription for alprazalam. The pharmacist told me she was calling my physician to verify that the prescription was VALID. After 5 back and for visits I was told she was uncomfortable with the dosage, that I could understand, telling me she didn't think it was valid infers forgery although prescriptions in CA must be sent via a secure electronic communication. When I finally after 6 hours got my prescription filled. It was supposed to be for 90 tablets. I got 30 tablets not 60 but didn't notice right away because I am sick and not accustomed to having to verify the count. Someone there made off with 60 of those pills or doesn't know how to count. Verify your medication is the correct medication and the quantity is correct before leaving the pharmacy read more

Pharmacy Review: I just had spine surgery and my physician is prescribing multiple meds which I'm aware there's a shortage for one in particular. To be proactive I called Walgreens locations to see who had it in stock so that my doctor could send it to the right pharmacy. I called three locations that were able to confirm that they were all on backorder. The 4th location I called, 111 W Washington Ave Escondido CA, refused to confirm if it was stock. I was told that the physician had to call and speak to the pharmacist directly. I told her that 3 other locations were able to confirm for me and asked to confirm one more time if they can confirm availability to which she said "Correct. The physician has to call the pharmacist and speak to him directly." I'm in an incredible amount of pain and still recovering from spine surgery. I was trying to be proactive so that my surgeon could send it to the pharmacy that had it in stock and to be told they couldn't confirm availability and the physician would have to call is beyond ridiculous. I wasn't asking to fill the medication, just if it was in stock. I'm floored at the lack customer service for this one inquiry. read more

I made an appt for my elderly mother to get a Covid booster. I received four reminders and got her there fifteen minutes early. After waiting 25 minutes they told her they couldn't take her right then because the computer hadn't informed them that she'd signed in. She doesn't understand computers. It upset her. She'd signed in but they had to wait for the computer to spit out a paper to let them know she was there! She's always walked in and gotten her Covid shots. They need a better system. read more

I visited the above story this morning around 9:30 am. The place is filthy, inside and out, and is unfit to sell food, drinks or pharmaceuticals. When I asked the manager "Scott" when the last time the store had been cleaned he launched into a whine about the corporate cutback in weekly cleaning bla bla bla. I asked him if he'd seen the trash can setting by the front door and he said he had. That trashcan alone should cause the store to be closed for food and beverage sales. A OK store in Escondido. Sent here to pick up some items for the parents. Relatively clean compared to other Walgreens I have been to. I do not think it is possible to have a completely clean store with all the foot traffic they get. They had special items on sale in stock which is nice. I hate the bait and swish tactics or they have only a few items of the on sale material. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out of the lot. They never have enough staff working to handle the volume of customers they have. It is so frustrating when you are sick or have someone who is sick and you have to wait in line for 20 minutes to drop off or pick up. Multiple times our doctor has called in a prescription and we go to pick it up the next day and it still isn't ready or we've used the app to order a prescription and set the date and time of pick up (allowing sufficient time) and they don't have that ready either. How in the world!? Perhaps if the pharmacists weren't over worked they would be better at their jobs. They are not friendly or helpful. The reason this place has 2 stars is because Walgreens has an app that allows you to refill and because they have a drive thru. When you're sick you do not want to crawl inside. However the second lane of the drive thru doesn't work and they have no sign to indicate that. Today I went in to pick up my grandmothers medicine with the prescription on-hand just in case they needed it and just as I was about to pay for her cough syrup at the front cashier the "Hispanic fat lady with glasses" asked me for an ID to pay for the cough syrup, since I didn't have it with me she refused to let me pay for it even knowing it wasn't for me but for my 92 year old grandma!!!! Are you fkn kidding me !!!? This was prescribed by her doctor because she has bronchitis and can't go get it herself and they shouldn't ask me for shit since it's not even my medication, it's not like I'm going to sell it somewhere else or fkn drug myself with it !!!(Anyways most of the time I don't even carry my purse with me, but shit I should've had it with me today!!!) so continuing,,, I told the lady's at the pharmacy if I could pay it there instead since the Hispanic fat lady made a big deal out of it and SO I PAID FOR IT,, well next thing you know this stupid fat lady(cashier) calls the pharmacy assistant to tell her to NOT SELL the cough syrup to me because I didn't show her my ID!! I had already paid for it and they called the manager to make me return the syrup because I had no ID with me at that time! Like WTF!!! The system didn't say I had to have an ID when the pharmacist helped me pay for it there and now the stupid cashier is calling them to tell them not to sell it to me !! They especially rude in the pharmacy drive thru and SLOW! I called about 45 minutes after I knew 2 prescriptions were sent for me. I was told it would be over 1 hour. I asked if there was a way to expedite and was told to come in and wait and it might be 1/2 hour. I explained that I am contagious and shouldn't come in and was told just to do drive thru and the would get ready ASAP. I got there and waited through 5 cars and was told 1 was ready but I would have to come back for the other. I told him what I had been told. He got abrupt with me but I told him that I was to come at 12:30 and told to wait. It was now 1:05 so the had almost 2 1/2 hrs to get them ready. Where do I begin? This by far has to be the worst customer service I've ever received at any drugstore anywhere. I walked in to the pharmacy give my prescriptions at the drop off counter, the man behind the counter looked at me with a terrible look on his face and said "it'll be a little while I would recommend waiting around" and then said to him I wasn't planning on waiting and that I will be back. Upon coming back I was told by the same man that he was unavailable to fill my prescriptions and that they would have to order them and it would take 2 to 3 weeks. I was shocked say the least. I asked for my prescriptions back and when I receive them back they had writing all over them so I wasn't able to take them to another pharmacy. I had to go back to my doctor explain to him what it happened and get new prescriptions. When I asked the pharmacist about this they were just as rude as he was offering no apology and no explanation When I said I wouldn't be coming back to Walgreens they laughed in my face and said Walgreens won't shut down because of you. They make titanium dioxide sticks stop bleed quickly, and thus they are an invaluable addition to any shave kit. The pharmacy is a nightmare and in my opinion, the pharmacist is a danger to the public. I went there to pick up two kinds of meds. One was supposed to be in a bottle, the other was supposed to be a single pill on a card. I told the girl behind the counter this and she didn't listen to me. When I got home, I realized I had been given two cards with one pill and not the bottle I was supposed to get. I drove clear over to the store to tell the pharmacist that I had received a double dose of one med and none of the other. She wouldn't take responsibility for the mistake and acted as if it was my problem. She even went so far as to say that some people like to take two pills. Unfortunately, my doctor only prescribed one. She was, so help me, the biggest idiot I have ever met and I am shocked she made it out of pharmacy school. She is unprofessional and clueless. I asked the manager, a short blonde young woman, what the pharmacist's name was. She said she was a substitute and didn't know her name. I reported them to the pharmaceutical board and an investigation was done. The other day, my doctor accidently sent a new prescription to this pharmacy which I don't go to anymore. I was shocked to see that the same pharmacist was working there. I know that my account was flagged because the clerk behind the counter went and had a talk with the pharmacist and they both turned and looked at me. Luckily, she agreed to fill it so I didn't have to go to another store or call my doctor. I have had relationships with doctors and I know that the losers are always pawned off on the poor. You wouldn't see this particular pharmacist working in Rancho Bernardo or Rancho Santa Fe because the customers would raise hell. They are in areas where the customers don't know any better. Many customers at this store are Spanish speaking and I think it is disgusting that they are sitting ducks for incompetent professionals of any kind. I would stay away. Go somewhere else. This store is definitely not the only rodeo in town and the medical, dental, and pharmaceutical boards are not working in your best interest, they work in the best interest of the professionals who are just like them. UPDATE: A few days ago, I saw the same pharmacist working there. She is in a low-income area which is often where incompetent doctors end up, so I expect the same is true for pharmacists. Been using this location to fill our prescriptions for at least 7 years. My daughter has just had her 13th surgery for an ongoing internal issue. Her current supply of medication will run out Sunday, so it was imperative that she re-supply before then. The pharmacist made her wait on Friday afternoon until they verified with her Doctor. They did verify with the Doctor, but the pharmacist would not fill her prescription because she "FELT THE QUANTITY WAS TOO HIGH". Unbelievable! THIS PHARMACIST FEELS THEY CAN SECOND GUESS THE DOCTOR?
