Despite there being two cashiers present, neither could process the return, yet they didn't open another lane or even acknowledge the growing line. Called pharmacy 20 minutes before closing, waited on hold for 25 minutes (so now it's 5 minutes past closing), someone picked up the phone and hung up. They said nothing at all so I am sure it was not an accidental hang up. I had a quick question about inventory, while I understand they had no way of knowing this, they could've just hung up the phone 5 minutes into putting me on hold if they never planned on answering the phone. Extremely frustrating as I know they want to go home, but just end the call don't let me stay on hold for 25!! minutes just to hang up. read more

I have been shopping at the in Centerville since it opened. At that time they provided excellent service but now it's a totally different story. Every time I get a prescription filled, there is a problem. Sometimes when my doctor sends in an order for me, it is too early to be filled. So, you would think that on the day it was ready to be filled, they would fill it. But they don't. On Monday, I knew my prescription was ready to be filled. I knew that I would have to call them. I knew I would have to call them to get them to fill it. I waited on hold for 45 minutes. The person in the that answered the phone said yes the prescription be filled today. I'll put it in for you, but if there's a problem, we will give you a call. Four hours go by and I can see online that nothing is happening at the store. I called them back. Wait on hold another 20 minutes. They told me they had to check and see if they had the medicine. They said they had the medicine and they would fill it. Two hours later, they call me back and tell me they do not have a sufficient quantity. They ordered some for but they can't tell me when it'll be there. I take the quantity that they had and now I have to get another prescription doctor for the rest in order to complete a of prescription. two days ago, I ordered a refill for another prescription online. They said it would be ready today at 1 o'clock. I check at 1 o'clock and it says they're running behind and they'll be a delay. 9 o'clock and the pharmacy is closed and they never filled the prescription. So, tomorrow I'll have to call and probably spend another 45 minutes on the phone and tell them to fill the prescription and maybe I'll have to call them back several times before they'll do it and I'm just saying I am never going to use Walgreens again to fill my prescriptions. Once I get that other partial prescription filled I'm moving on. I have never seen such lousy service in all of my life. I have no idea what they're doing over there and I'm starting to feel like they're a bunch of incompetence and I'm not even sure I'm going to get the right medicine never mind on the right day or time or anything. I like this store, although the parking situation is precarious. To my annoyance like CVS, they have a VIP club with your phone number. In order to get more of your sales data, you can save money occasionally. Actually props to Walgreens, as most often they are cheaper than their main competitor. This is a good thing, and they have a blood pressure monitor you can use. Also a location close to a lot. As for the store itself, you can do well with aspirin, sleep medicines OTC, and some minor ankle braces. They have a good selection of multivitamins. Much more here than elsewhere. Also even in cold and flu season, they have the NyQuil and other brands. Lines for checkout usually are quick. Nice employees and the place is clean and organized. read more

This review reflects my personal experiences. This Walgreens pharmacy is a very busy location and it is routinely understaffed. Lines for Rx service are often long. Pharmacy cashiers handle telephone callers and in-person customers simultaneously. Admittedly, the U.S. health insurance system for meds is a mess. At this location, the system failures are passed on to the customers to an extent I have never seen elsewhere. The customer service is abysmal. Pharmacists are mostly inaccessible, (despite what you see in their TV ads). Current pharmacy cashier supervisor is consistently rude. She is dismissive, abrupt, never helpful (or even kind). It seems she holds her supervisory job because of those qualities . . . she runs a "tight ship." (If I knew when she is on duty, I would re-arrange my schedule to stay out of her orbit.). The store manager hides. If my health insurance provided more "in plan" options close to my home, (only Walgreens and CVS) I would not give my business this pharmacy. read more

Down the drain! My family and I have been customers here for something like 20 years. No more! Some (unprintable) saw a chance to save some money by cutting service, and it shows. Yesterday evening I came by to pick up a Px and saw eight people waiting and one pharmacist. Repeated efforts to reach the store manager got me a prolonged blank stare from one store cashier and several minutes of hold music on the phone. Tried to call again this morning, same response. Finally did reach a manager who was apologetic but could offer little by way of help. She did check around and find out which other Walgreens near me had the medication in stock. We will definitely be switching, probably to another company. Foulups do happen and can be worked past. Total indifference is a different matter. 'BYE! read more

We bring our daughter here for OTC shots and the pharmacy tech and person administering the shots are incredible! We started last year with our COVID vaccines and came back for our flu shots recently and this is the only place our five yea fold wants to get shots! She can sometimes have a hard time getting ready for shots but then they administer them so quickly and patiently she actually doesn't cry from the injection (she did last time need some encouraging). Sure there can be a bit of a wait (even with an appointment online) but I'm sure like everywhere else they're understaffed as I see a constant stream of people there to pick up meds or call in about medications. On 9/14/22, my wife was planning to pick up some pictures she sent to their photo lab online. However, she ended up getting a random text from someone that ended up with her pictures. The anonymous person confirmed by sending a photo. This is a privacy issue(a random person knows my wife's first and last name, along with a picture of my 12 month old son who had no clothes on) and they did not handle the situation properly. My wife called them to let them know of the mix up and they made sure to reprint her photos for pickup. Later in the day, my wife left to pick up the photos and expressed her frustration politely, however it fell on deaf ears. All she was given was a nonchalant "sorry" and "this never happened before". Its unfortunate that the only way she would have had an appropriate response was if she pulled a "Karen" and made a scene, or maybe if she wasn't a minority. Apparently, Walgreens does not think that giving out customer personal information along with unclothed baby photos to the wrong person is of concern. read more

A young lady and a man in his 20s - 30s are the worst with customer service. They not only lost my prescription on Feb 6, 2025,but hung up on me on Feb 7. I experienced trouble with the very same 2 pharm techs/ workers in the past. This has caused me distress, time wasted, lost trust in them, and I will find out their names.They NEED TO BE RESPECTFUL, professional, RETRAINED, and be held accountable for both of their ongoing behaviors. I will not only NEVER FEEL SAFE coming to this pharmacy, have ZERO in the techs that work here, especially the guy and young woman who works on Feb 6 and Feb 7, 2025. Even their tone of voices on the phone were simple DISRESPECTFUL.The entire team needs replacement.The way these 2 techs spoke to me, and their tone of voice, and intentionally hung up on me after 23 minutes of waiting. I believe these experiences should be heard and please consider if you want to have a pharmacy team like this. Most serious ongoing cancern with the 2 techs = their interpersonal skills and inappropriate way in how they dealt with me not just this one time but previous as well. Please avoid the pharmacy because they are always working. there have been legal issues and they were never addressed or corrected. There have been legal issues and HIPPAA VIOLATIONS caused by the pharm techs and NOTHING WAS INVESTIGATED either. So many suspicious acts of the techs but that has been hushed. read more

First time here and won't be back. Danielle is a miserable person and should probably not work in a pharmacy. She refused to run my flu shot through my health insurance even though I told her it would not work for my pharmacy insurance (Caremark). I explained that the website said you could use health or pharmacy insurance. She insisted that "contract had run out?" She ran her mouth the entire time telling me why it wouldn't work and then voila "oh it went through". This pharmacy runs one line for prescriptions and flu shots. Ridiculous waste of time. I arrived on time for my shot but by the time I got to the front of the line, ten minutes had elapsed. Danielle commented to another employee that I would go after the person scheduled 20 mins after my appt. The cute part about this is that it was a couple that scheduled their appointments 20 mins apart. It's really fun to stand in a long line when you are nine months pregnant and supposed to be on bed rest. One of the pharmacy employees doesn't wear a mask even though it is supposedly a company policy. read more

I am giving this Walgreens 2 stars because typically their pharmacy's service is good. However I have recently had a very poor encounter. My mother is currently on home hospice and her hospice doctor ordered liquid morphine. The hospice nurse called this pharmacy and they said they were in stock. Unfortunately when I called to see if the order was ready for pick up, the pharmacist told me that the hospice ordered 3 bottles worth of morphine but they only had 2 available. I asked if it would be possible to pick up the 3rd bottle at a later time because I was worried about running out. The pharmacist said probably not (???) but that the amount ordered "should last two weeks". I was ultimately skeptical from the beginning because I know the hospice agency ordered a dose of morphine every 4 hours around the clock but also ordered it every 1 hour as needed for pain and shortness of breath. My mother has pancreatic cancer that has spread to her lungs, liver, and brain so unfortunately I have needed to give her the morphine once an hour for most of the past few days, leading one of the bottles to already be used and only one bottle left. When I called the pharmacy today to see if my sister could pick up the third bottle ordered, the pharmacist told me that we would need to contact the doctor for another order. When I asked why we couldn't complete the first order, the pharmacist told me that she had reached out to the doctors (hospice) office when it was ordered and they said giving two bottles was fine because it should last and then they can reassess. As a family member supporting a person who is dying, I don't want to have to be on the phone with the pharmacy constantly checking to see if medications are in stock or asking why they aren't giving the medication amounts that are ordered. I understand there is an opioid epidemic, but this is making it harder for people who really need pain medications and making their families suffer because of the need to constantly be going to the pharmacy and being told they do not have enough pain medication in stock. I have no idea why this pharmacy would call a doctors office and ask if the amount of medication they could supply "would be okay". It's not a pharmacists role to judge how much medication a patient needs, it's the role of their doctor/hospice. If this Walgreens didn't have the amount of medication the doctor ordered, they should have supplied what they had and then been willing to supply the rest later. Or say that they could not fulfill the order. It's unacceptable that coordinating all of this has taken a lot of effort while I'm trying to care for my mother. read more

Horrible! I was in the Walmart and they had JUST announced that they were closing and to wrap up all the item and leave. I was looking for my significant other in the store and couldn't reach him via phone. All of the sudden this lady comes up and tells me that the store is closing (mind you this lady was following me around the store since I got here !) So I let her know I was looking for my significant other so we can leave and she also remarked that she was also going to look for him to let him know the store was closing. As if we didn't all just hear the speakers??? It was not one breath after the announcement! She was very arrogant, rude, and unprofessional. read more

We've used this outlet for our prescriptions for years but are moving them elsewhere. Pharmacy staff is perpetually confused, and often, when we try to straighten things out, rude and dismissive. A particular problem: automatic refills. Sometimes they get them right, sometimes they don't. We've run out of important medication because they notified us a prescription was ready - but it wasn't. They've told us they'd have to call the Dr. to renew, even when it's clearly labeled that we have X number of refills available. Their service is completely unpredictable, which is not what you want in your medication dispenser! read more

For the pharmacy, it was never great but has just become unusable terrible. Staff is rude and argumentative, every time I go there's a different "policy" that then doesn't exist the next time. I never thought I would leave a review of a pharmacy but here I am . Just went online to schedule a booster. It ended up being 38 miles from my house. Once I got here it was pure out of control. I had an appointment but the line was very long . First they could not find my reservation . I asked the attendant if she wants to see my confirmation. She said no and continues to look for it on her computer. She did not speak very good English as well as all the other employees. A woman in front of me went off of the pharmacy. And I wish I would have shot a video . She was complaining about the poor service . I just thought it was just a bad day for that customer . Then one after another the same issues with other customers was happening. I mean it was a train wreck. Then it was finally my turn and they could not find my reservation and I had to fill out all the paperwork again. Then wait in the longest line. Some people have been here for hours waiting . I almost do not want them to put a shot in my arm . Customer after customer are all complaining. This place should not be in business . Someone needs to shut this place down. I would never get a prescription filled here. You have to see this to believe it . I feel I'm in a third world country. read more

Another convenient location for Walgreens, I have never had anything but positive experiences dealing with the store. The parking lot can be a little bit of a challenge because it is an older center with a narrow isles that are long and traffic came back up getting to the stoplight. Walgreens Photo Pharmacy store is at outstanding location on Main St. of city Fairfax. It is a huge drug store with separate makeup section in the whole town. I only used their inkjet refills service but other products are great too. Medication refilling is a lot easier. Everyone is very knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. I find my self to become Walgreens addict...one time I went to this Fairfax store after coming back from dentist appointment nearby to check it out. It's nice store without drive thru but convenient location. Parking space is awful but spacious store. It has Photo Center with inkjet refills for $15, Cosmetics department, and a Pharmacy at the back of the store but no Liquor department unlike CVS. I got my medication refilled from this store from other location which was simple to do. Their customer service is excellent eventhough they don't have the item that i wus looking for. They've checked in the stock room but i told them not to worry. Watch out for sale price signs their blue column is better for my eyes. Harris Teeter once located at this space. But Walgreens did good job. I've heard district office is on 2nd floor of this store. Also, Harris Teeter is moving to larger space on Penderbrook in Fairfax route 50. Alot of things sure has changed on Old Town Fairfax since I left. Located on Old Town Fairfax accross from new Fairfax City Library, Golds Gym and not far from GMU. read more

Its my wife's go to drug store. The service from the pharmacy is always competent, professional, and most importantly, super fast. You can have your doctor phone in your prescriptions and they can fill it within minutes. The only complaint I have is the fact that it's nearly impossible to make a left hand turn into their parking lot off of the main road (but that's not their fault). I don't usually review places like Walgreens, but it needed to be done. I was just looking for a certain type of face powder at Walgreens online and it said that it was in stock at the Walgreens on Nutley Street and I went there first. I was "assisted", if you could really call it that by a women at the Nutley location that told me "Walgreens does not carry that product and that she found a SKU# for it but that they didn't carry it". Because of the hostility I was shown by the worker at the Walgreens on Nutley street I decided to just leave. On the way home, I have to pass the Walgreens at the Main Street location- I stopped by just to check again and good thing I did! The employee in the makeup section that night (3/15/2015) not only found the face powder immediately but was a pleasure to talk to! Her chit-chat and knowledge about makeup was very helpful. I don't think I will go back to the Nutley Street location for some time because of the weird intimidation I felt from the sales attendant that night (She told me "not to go back and look because Walgreens does not carry that powder and she would know- because she re-set the makeup aisle"). This makeup was just about the service I had when trying to find Coty's Air spun translucent loose powder, which Walgreens' does in fact carry. read more

Fortunately, I had help from a gentleman named Chris, who was very professional and patient and helped work out the issue and I left the store with all 196 (!!) of my pictures. Like F.N. said, I don't normally review chains like Walgreens. And I'm also lazy so I hardly Yelp at all nowadays but they left a big impression on me, so here it goes: I was one of the first people to use Discover on Apple Pay yesterday and must've been the guinea pig for them since my purchase went all the way through the process until the signature screen where the pen pad froze!!! We attempted two more times to purchase the item but it refused to work. Afterwards, it was cleared up through my bank (Discover) that they had held the latter two charges due to potential fraud alert because of the size of the purchase - over $500. The service team, Tiphanie (sp?), Kierra and a manager whose name I didn't get proceeded to assist over the course of the afternoon in helping reverse the authorization with my company and ultimately making sure I did end up leaving with my product I originally intended on buying. They embody the idea of hospitality, frankly, better than some people I've seen even in the hospitality industry where I work. They could not have been more helpful or friendly through the entire process, which I of course felt terrible about, since it was mostly Discover's and that penpad's fault. TL:DR - Wonderful customer service, a reason to keep coming back other than getting your photos developed or buying Werther's Originals on sale. read more

I was feeling so sick that I needed to get medicine. After perusing through the aisles of medication...I asked the pharmacist and was able to get exactly what I wanted and nothing more. She even recommended I get the generic brand..beacause all the ingredients are the same. I also enjoyed my warm cup of coffee and will be returnign for my slushi when I feel better. The prices are unbeatable and the staff is always courteous and willing to help you find the sale items. read more

This is far and away the best drugstore I have ever dealt with. The staff says "Hi, welcome to Walgreen's" as soon as you walk in. A small thing, but a sign of a store focused on its customers. The pharmacy has gone out of its way to be helpful, and as a frequent customer my name is remembered and I am greeted by name. Importantly to me, the pharmacy staff speaks an English I can understand (not true of all other Fairfax stores). The non-pharmacy section is large and has always seemed to have everything I would want. read more
