I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experiences with this pharmacy have been consistently disappointing. Most recently, my mother urgently needed medication. Knowing the pharmacy was about to close, I called ahead to let them know I was on my way. I was told to "hurry". I arrived approximately two minutes after the posting closing time, only about five minutes after my call, and the staff had already closed and refused to help, despite knowing I was coming for an urgent prescription. This wasn't an isolated incident. I arrived while the pharmacy window was still open, but because the staff was preparing to go on their break, they refused to assist me even though I was already there. Customer service and compassion seemed to take a back seat to the clock. To make matters worse, the pharmacy has reduced its hours to 6pm on weekdays and is closed on weekends, making it extremely difficult for working people and anyone with urgent medication needs to get prescriptions filled. Unfortunately, the staff has also been consistently rude and unhelpful during my interactions. I understand that employees deserve breaks and pharmacies have operating hours, but when someone calls ahead about an urgent prescription and arrives minutes later after being told to hurry, a little compassion can make a tremendous difference. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve both customer service and access to care. read more

For the most part, my experience with the pharmacy has been okay, as the pharmacy keeps track of my prescription refills and contacts me when they are ready for pick up. However, my experience with the staff is very mixed! The women on staff, as well as the younger staff members have been friendly, helpful and professional. Yet, there seems to be a constant turnover of these staff members, as I see new staff members frequently. Why? The staff person whom I've encountered 90% of the time over the past year when I go to Walgreens is an older male. I have found him to be rude, unhelpful, disagreeable and condescending. I am done dealing with this person, and I wonder if other staff members have found him to be difficult to work with? I will not buy anything at this store, other than my prescriptions if he is the only person working at the register, and I'm considering changing to the CVS pharmacy so I can purchase other items without having to deal with this person. read more

Terrible pharmacy! Apparently short staffed because hours have been cut back to 6 pm and they're now closed on weekends. Often they're not open when they say they will be, and sometimes even closed all day. There have been numerous occasions when they were out of stock on common drugs. If you're sick and need something right away you might have to wait a week or more before they send you an email saying the drug is ready for pickup. However, when you get there, it's not ready or they only have enough to fill part of the order. At times I've had to go back 3-4 times. If you say anything the staff is rude or makes it very clear that they don't care. When I noticed that one of my pills was round instead of the usual oval shape and questioned it, I was told "If it says round on the label, that's what it's supposed to be." They didn't even check to see if an error was made, so I had to take it to CVS to have them check to see if it was the right drug. Awful! read more

I have never had a problem there. They are always congenial, and helpful it is not there fault cooperated don't give them enough help.

I came around 9:20am at Walgreens in Reading, MA. There were three staff in the pharmacy. We were two on the line waiting. it took ten minutes to wait. The woman in front of me gave up and left. The staff said my prescription is not ready, I needed to wait for 5-10 minutes. I did. when I came back the staff has not even prepared my Rx. She is packing 1 month, but my order is for 3 months. She said only two are available. She even threw the Rx at the right side corner, at the other counter where another staff is working. I ended up leaving without my 3 month prescription after being there for 39 minutes read more

This review is only related to the pharmacy. I scheduled a vaccine appointment only to show up and be told that they did not have the vaccine in stock. This has actually happened two separate times with two completely unrelated vaccines at this location. No call or text beforehand to let me know and really no apology at all from the pharmacy staff. Pharmacy service is Inadequate. They cut their hours and can't keep up with the prescription orders and are always backlogged . the wait at the drive-through window is horrendous as well as trying to talk to a pharmacist on the phone. CVS seems like the Way to go today read more

Quite possibly the slowest pharmacy ever. I consistently wait in the drive thru at least 15 minutes (which is the "fastest" option compared with going inside). So incredibly understaffed and the people that do work there are un-engaged and unmotivated. Probably from being overworked! read more

I strongly advise against using this pharmacy. The pharmacists they hire fit into two categories, either they are hostile or clueless. They actually sent my prescription information to a relative of mine because we have the same last name. That's a violation of law and incredibly invasive of my privacy. The rest of the store is average. It's overpriced, especially since there is a Walmart half a mile up the road. read more

I recently had the most unpleasant experience at the North Reading Walgreen's Pharmacy. I called ahead to be sure that my prescription was in stock and the man that took my call was incredibly rude and unpleasant. I thought little of it until I went to drop off my prescription. The same man was there (I could tell by his "sunny" personality and voice) and appeared to be very annoyed that I was there needing assistance. Throughout his taking my prescription, answering the questions I had and when I later picked up my medication, this man was excessively rude, rolled his eyes numerous times and made me feel like some kind of criminal for the type of medication I was picking up. As I drove away from the pick up window and said "thank you", he gave me a dirty look, shook his head and hung up the phone he was using to talk through the pickup window without saying anything. Worst customer service ever. I'm not one to complain about anything but this was the worst pharmacy experience I've ever had. read more
