I'm honestly surprised this Walgreens does not have more stars on average. It is pretty well stocked for most items one expects from Walgreens. Minimal number of locked down merch. One relatively small issue is awkward parking but store is adjacent to a huge lot - so not a problem for those able to walk a bit. In the past I've stopped by here for some emergency sunblock and recently discovered that they even have some types and brands not available elsewhere - specifically Neutrogena stick form sunblock. All in all a pretty solid shop especially compared to local competitors with lots of empty shelves. read more

This is for the pharmacy. Have tried twice now to get a flu shot. No success. First time tried to walk in, which they promote but they had no one available for an hour to administer the shot. Today I had an appointment, arrived more than 5 minutes early, and still didn't get to the window (only one person in front of me, mind you), was unable to get the shot because they could not figure out the insurance (which is in the system, I've been coming here for more than a decade!). She couldn't say why, just, 'maam, it is not working.' Utterly incompetent and unbelievably slow. I just don't get why, there were SO many people behind the counter. Avoid if you can. read more

I just had my medication delivered from here and when I opened envelope it was delivered in(completely sealed) the seal on medicine was broken and 10 pills were gone. Called Walgreens and spoke to pharmacist about this and she totally put the blame on delivery person. As I said, packaging was not broken into. I replied it wasn't the driver and she had made a mistake filling prescription. She replied, I never make mistakes and again blamed it on driver. So very frustrating. This is for the pharmacy. If my doctor calls in an order and asks you to fill it immediately, I expect that it will be ready within a reasonable time frame. Instead, I got a text asking me if it should be filled. I said yes. I arrived 30 minutes later, and was asked "do you want to pick this up today or tomorrow?" I said "today, it is urgent." They tell me to wait another half hour. But they go on lunch break in 20 minutes, so actually I need to wait a couple more hours. So now I either have to miss a dose, or stay up until 2am to keep on schedule, because Walgreens needs to be told at minimum 3 times to actually fill an order before they will even start on it. The pharmacy tech also called me ma'am, when I have a beard and it says right in front of her face on my chart that I'm a man who takes testosterone. So that tech is either a bigot or completely unobservant. read more

PHARMACY: Sadly, I was very happy with this Walgreens, until as of late. I realize they are EXTREMELY overwhelmed by taking on Rite Aid customers, however, were they not aware they were doing so? This must have been in the works for a long time prior to the closure of RA, why didn't they prepare for this? The wait times are insane, their vaccine and pick up lines are confusing, employees are confused and the Drive thru is closed more than it is open. All the while the employees are rude because of the stress and endless customers....I get that. But, FFS would you get your act together and hire more people and organize your lines? Since everybody's complaining about the Pharmacy, I will complain about something else, and then redirect my pharmacy needs elsewhere based on what I'm reading in these reviews. Anyway, I walked in to purchase a can of Pledge furniture polish. Luckily it was on sale and the product line had yellow tags displaying a significantly reduced price. So I elected to buy a second can the deal was so good. The boisterously obnoxious cashier who is always working there rang me up and the price wasn't as I expected. It seems that they are asking everybody for their phone number and if you don't give them your phone number, you will be charged full price for whatever advertised sales item you pull off the shelf. I don't know any other business that does this but it's really horrible. This means for example even if a homeless person that has no phone will not qualify to purchase a sales item off the shelf at a discount price. This is Really Really horrible.. read more

It is hard to understand why this Walgreens is so bad. They routinely screw up prescriptions. They are supposed to notify you when prescriptions are ready but they never do. They forget to make orders. They are closed when they should be open. It took 3 visits to fill one order. read more

Strange little Walgreens spot on Palmetto in Pacifica. Frequented the pharmacy and Used to get COVID tests but difficult to schedule the vaccines. The pharmacy opens and closes at inopportune times. Especially when prescriptions are involved. Tough when people depend on the pharmacy. Please improve on this. The rest of store is fine and is usually fully stocked and the staff is nice. If you're looking to have your HIPAA rights and personal information violated, this is the Walgreens pharmacy for you. After 15+ years they have implemented a horrible new line system with horrible way-finding information separating out vaccinations and medication pickup. People stand for up to 30 minutes in the line they've known for years only to find out they should be in a different line hidden around the aisle. And then it's up to the customers to negotiate who's been in a line the longest. And when you do make it up to the counter, you're surrounded by customers as the clerks ask for your name, address, phone number. Why not just announce it over the PA system? The website for this location shows a video on how to dispose of medication in a drop box which is supposed to be in this store. I spoke to an employee who had no idea what I was talking about. They told me as long as the top of the bottle was secured I could throw it in the garbage. He told my daughter the same thing. I asked to speak to a manager. He didn't know where the manager was!! He asked another employee to talk to me. She said they used to have a drop box but not anymore. She said I could go to a police station and drop it off. Then I told her her coworker told me to throw it in the trash. She looked shocked. Maybe if someone cared at Walgreens they'd remove the video and direct people on where to dispose of meds properly instead of wasting our time. The pharmacist refused to vaccinate me without a negative Covid test because I have a household contact that has Covid. I am immunosuppressed and would have symptoms, but I do not. The VIS from the CDC states you should not vaccinate people with active infections. I do not have an active infection. I am furious. They've lost my business and I am always going there. I'll find a new pharmacy. Note that you can have symptoms days before being Covid positive. I explained this to their pharmacist, she seems to not care. read more

MEH I've used this pharmacy for 5 years. The location and drive-thru (when open) are really convenient; I hate to go elsewhere. But I'm looking around for another pharmacy; unfortunately, none of the options around here are great. Despite placing orders in the app or by phone, it always seems to take me several phone calls and a week or two to get my hard-to-fill prescriptions. While polite, the pharmacists often seem lost and disengaged, with little follow-through or empathy. Despite being a regular customer here for years, I don't know any of the pharmacists or feel like they know me or care about me at all. read more

This review is for the pharmacy only. The Walgreens store is actually very nice and I enjoy the ladies at the check out counter. They are always kind, helpful and cheerful. The pharmacy I do not recommend and should be avoided at all costs. I have had the same medication prescribed to me for many years. I own a business in the pacifica area but I live in the east bay. hoping for convenience I asked my doctor to send my prescriptions to the Pacifica Walgreens. I signed up for text message communication with Walgreens and was sent a text message saying 1 of my 2 prescriptions were filled. After a long morning commute over the bay bridge, stopped at Walgreens on palmetto to pick up what was ready. I was rudely told I had nothing ready. So i continued on to work. After working all day no breaks and before commuting all the way back over to the east bay I stopped at Walgreens again to pick up my prescription that I was informed via text was filled. The pharmacy tech retrieved my prescription in a bag, I saw my name on it. Walked it over to the pharmacist who then kept it and proceeded to come to the window and try to tell me I had nothing ready and that my medication was out of stock. Unbelievable. When I persisted I was met with judgement, attitude and unnecessary and disrespectful questioning. She demanded to know why I wanted to fill my medication here and not in the city I reside in. I told her I work and own a business here and that this was more convenient for me to reach during business hours. She the very rudely suggested I "find a 24 hour pharmacy where you come from in oakland." She also made a few remarks under her breath to her pharmacy tech about my condition and my medication. I was beyond embarrassed and my feeling were hurt. I have never been treated so poorly by a medical professional ever. Completely unprofessional. I knew my prescription had been filled and after literally arguing with her and saying I knew she had my medication she relented and released it to me. Which proves she's a judgmental lier. So, it turns out, there is a call center that answers questions regarding medications if you call in, not the store people. 3 people who answered the call provided incorrect information regarding medication. We asked them to make them again, and they gave us products that were defective AGAIN. After much wasted time, we ended up not picking up the poorly made metal prints. Front store: A confused cashier refused to allow credit cards for payment for gift cards. She claimed it was store policy to not allow credit cards to be used for gift card purchases, which is untrue. Do you know how I know it's not true? I submitted a complaint to Walgreens Corporate Customer Care and received follow up from the store manager. Absolutely poor training for their employees. read more

Well this pharmacy strikes again, the pharmacist (and if there are multiple it may be the norm there) was so rude never wants to provide ETAs no matter what, it's always some excuse and if the staffing really leaves her their alone all the time like she complains about then Walgreens management needs to step it up. Walgreens Pacifica pharmacy is slow and ususlly understaffed but if the prescription is filled then they have the only drive through pharmacy window in the area. That helps if you have trouble walking. If you go in to get something from the pharmacy expect a line. This week they closed temporarily and the phone syatem closed down. They re poened but they couldnt turn the phones back on and the drive through closed when I was there. Maybe next week they will get back to their usual level. read more

Pharmacy SUUUUCKS!!!!! I don't know why I torture myself and keep my prescriptions here. The last time I went I was there five times trying to get medication filled... Good thing I'm retired. So every month I call in my prescriptions and the AI says it'll be ready tomorrow by 1 o'clock. I go back the next day they said oh it's not ready. Come back in 15 minutes. By the way, it's pouring rain. So I return in 15 minutes. Wait in line, THEN, they told me there's no refills. I need to call my doctor. So I called the doctor. They filled the prescription I go back to the pharmacy they say they don't have permission from the doctor while I'm in line with the doctor, the doctor tells yes you have the prescription filled. Then they look it up and yes it is filled, but I have to come back in 15 minutes. I come back in 15 minutes then they tell me there's a problem with the insurance... This is stuff that keeps me alive. I called the insurance. The insurance says there is no problem. They should fill this. Then I go back to the pharmacy and they tell me. Oh well, it's not active until January 21. I told the pharmacist by then I'll be dead. The fucking bitch shrugs her shoulders and walks away. So then I get the insurance on the phone with the pharmacist and they approve 90 days. They told me to come back in 15 minutes. I'm online with the insurance company and ask them what is the problem and they said well that the prescription went from 30 days to 90 days and the pharmacy seems to be having a problem with that understanding. So the pharmacy calls back the insurance and says that they'll give me a partial. Now this is for 90 days. I figure, whatever, as long as I get something. I go back to the pharmacy and they give me a partial fulfillment of the prescription. They gave me five days... I said, are you kidding me? The pharmacist says well we won't have anymore until next week. They called on a recorded message. They said that the prescription was filled now they're telling me they don't have any of this drug in stock. I did call my doctor and I will be getting a 30 day supply directly from him because I don't want to ever be put in this position of some effing bitch shrugging her shoulders when I tell her that if I don't get this prescription I'll die. Don't use this pharmacy. I don't know who to talk to about this indifference of the pharmacist and their incompetence. read more
