What is the deal with this place? I used to live near here and would occasionally shop at Walgreens and it was always weird. Today I swung in for two items while en route to anappt. I needed a USB thumb drive. Perhaps the dumbest thing to purchase at a Walgreens, but I was desperate. The drives are located behind the counter so I was leaning over and squinting trying to decide on my purchase when a clerk comes over and asks if he could help. He told me that he had one brand that was on sale, a 4gb for 19.99. I agreed to purchase that and a bottle of water. My purchase came to nearly $35! I asked how we went from $20 (and change) to $35. The clerk looked at the sale tag and told me that the offer had expired. Really? In the time we were talking it expired? Oh, no it had been expired, ya'll just hadn't taken the signs down. He then apparently thought it was entirely reasonable for me to pay full price for an item that he himself told me was onsale. In the end he did sell me the drive for the sale price, but it was a hassle and I was made to feel like *I* did something wrong. Uncool. read more

I have been going to Walgreens pharmacies all over the Bay Area for years now and have never had a bad experience. Well, never say "never" right? This was the worst Walgreens pharmacy that I have ever encountered! The level of customer care and efficiency is at the lowest level. If I could give them a big fat ZERO I would! Zero Stars. The Asian Manger is very rude. My toddler took one toy from their shelf and when I tried to keep it back on the shelf. The Manager started yelling at me for no reason. He even threatened me to call cops for Vandalizing. I plan to sue this Pharmacy soon. Management ,fire this Asian Manager. This review is for the staff who handles my online order pickup. I ordered a hair lotion and had it shipped to this store. When the item was shipped a few days ago, I received an email notification that it was shipped with the tracking number. Today I received another email notification that the item has arrived at the destination. The staff (middle aged, short hair woman who spoke with a Filipino-like accent) checked her system using my last name and showed me that her system shows the status is "shipped", meaning it hasn't arrived. I tried to share with her that my notifications, which come with a tracking number, shows that it has arrived 7 hours ago. She was adamant, turned the screen to me and said "See here?? It says shipped. I don't care about your tracking number." Super rude. I tried to offer that maybe it has indeed arrived but the store had not matched it to the system. She reluctantly said she was going to the back to check. Meanwhile while she was away, another staff member (Staff#2) who heard us said "Maybe it's still in transit." I said that the email said the item has arrived. It says on the USPS website that it has arrived in mailbox. I asked Staff#2 if they have a mailbox. She was friendly and courteous and said "you know what, we do. Maybe it is in there." She radioed for Staff#1 to check the mailbox. At this point, I'm pretty sure that's what happened, and so did Staff#2. However Staff#1 was still adamant and uttered "But we never receive any orders through there". After a while, she finally got to open the mailbox and true enough, my item was right there. This middle aged, short hair, dark skin woman was rude, did not know the possible order/pickup scenarios, and was not open to suggestions when a solution was offered. It's a little crowded and seems worn out, but had the vitamins I needed. It was woefully understocked in the pain meds aisle, out of almost everything except extra strength tylenol and advil. The staff seems bedraggled and bored, no response to smiles or humor. But it's a store, not my best friend, so it's fine. read more

I like the shocking brightness of this store. I like the infomercial merchandise and watching people try to buy Christmas (including dinner, "You mean you don't even have chicken in a can?") on Christmas Eve from Walgreen's. It's the only place open, and the store shines like a surgical suite on that night, when everything else is dark and dead. They should know their customers, and they don't. For example, every kid in town needs a crate of red pens to get them through middle and high school math. Do you think they carry packs of red pens? No. Do you think they did once they were informed of the need? No. But still, it's clean and bright, and if they could stop their cashiers from wiping their spit on plastic bags in order to open them, I'd start shopping there again. read more

Their manager doesn't even care that their PHARMACY DEPT is DROWNING. Its very unorganized. Can someone from upper leadership of WALGREENS look at this branch? Its not running very well. A lot of unsatisfied customers. Just hoping that one day another pharmacy would open up next to them and they will lose all their customers. No service recovery. So Here is my story. It was my Sisters birthday and I wanted to get a picture of us and put it in a frame for her birthday. I bought a lovely frame and a few days before her birthday I ordered the picture online through there site. The next day I got an email saying that my pictures were ready and that I could come pick them up. I go down to walgreens and they tell me that there machine is busted and they did not print the pictures. I ask "so why did I get an email?" and they just shrugged there shoulders. So they say that the next day the guy is coming out to fix it and that they will give me a call when the pictures are ready. I get a call the next day and the lady says they printed but the heads are all cut off did I want them like that? Ummmmmm NO! So I go down and there is one good picture in the bunch and they tried to charge me for the ones that they messed up. I told them that I only wanted the good one and that was the only one I was going to pay for. So now I know never to come here for my photo printing needs. I will say there site is very good of you order something and have it shipped to you. I got one of my prints in poster size and it was lovely. read more

Winton looking for some new makeup and hair detangler that I was in desperate need of. The lovely employee who was working in the makeup and hair product Apartments name was Shirley. She was amazing. Not only did she have a great personality and amazing customer service but she was incredibly friendly and helpful. She also let me know there was several sales going on where buy two get one free and there were also several coupons that I wasn't aware of but she had them and she allowed me to use them on the purchases that I made. I can't remember the last time I had such a lovely interaction with an employee at a grocery store or drugstore or any retail store for that matter. Wow! This has got to be the WORST Walgreens store location I've ever been to. I'm not surprised at all with the 2 star rating on Yelp. My family and I moved to Pleasanton a little over a year ago from LA. Walgreens was our go-to drugstore before we moved and since this location is about 5 minutes from our house, I started going there for prescriptions and other drugstore products. Let me first say that the pharmacy is the SLOWEST pharmacy ever. They are short staffed and take forever with each customer. The last time I went there, I commented to the store manager that they were the slowest pharmacy and he told me that I should go to a different pharmacy. Well duh! Like I hadn't decided that already. Still though, that is just bad customer service. Don't even bother getting your ink cartridges refilled there. I paid $12.99 for a color ink refill and it wasn't even filled properly. The manager there refused to refill it again without charging me another $12.99 This store furniture/shelving/decore is also old and in desperate need of an update. Forget this place and drive an extra 3 minutes down the street to CVS. read more

I don't like going to this Walgreen's at all. The customer service is always bad. They have an "I don't care, when is my shift over?" attitude. They have the closest pharmacy to my house, so I have to go there. The wait is always super long, and some employees don't even understand English. It took me 10 minutes to try and explain something to one of them. Like I said, it's extremely slow service. If you can avoid this Walgreen's, do it! read more

1/12/08 - I'm updating this review and taking away 3 stars. The Pharmacy service has gotten progressivly worse, over the years. I've waited 15 minutes while stand in line with 4 people in front of me. I exepct to wait 12 to 20 minutes whenever I come in after work as they don't know how to efficently help people. Also I've watched one or 2 of the assistances talking to their gal pals on the phone while I was waiting. This has seriously iritated me. Also the credit card scanners in the Pharmacy break on a regular basis. The shine is off the apple. I get prescriptions filled here and they email me when my order is ready to be picked up, and leave a message on my answering machine! Talk about super convenient! I can also setup my prescriptions to renew all at the same time online, and track how much I have spent for the year. They have a good selection of cards, and a long row filled with makeup, just in case I need a new lip liner or something. This store isn't very large but is packed with lots of items. Also when my doctor's given me the wrong prescription in the past (like chewable pills which I didn't want or need) the counter staff have been so helpful, and fixed the problem for me by contacting the doctor for me. They also have lots of snacks, film processing (both digital and the old fashioned kind), and blank cds/dvds. Also poster board and other items for school projects. Great store in the same shopping center as Safeway. read more

Tried to grab 20 more grad announcements in one day photo service (I already had my 1st order done from Shutterfly before covid 19 but they took a long time to get to my house, and now I realized I needed more,so I used the same pix for Walgreens photo cards) Anyway, manager wouldnt print my cards because I didnt have a digital release and the studio is CLOSED due to covid 19. I tried to ask if I could show her my already approved Shutterfly pix and she didnt care or budge. BESMA , THE MANAGER IS RUDE, AND NEEDS TRAINING ON CUSTOMER SERVICE. SHE HUNG UP ON ME MID-SENTENCE!!! I was trying to ask her help in ways I could get my graduates cards but NO she hung up on me!!! The picture is a tiny spot in the collage! These poor 2020 grads cant get a break! Stick to Shutterfly and just wait out the time, or order double from them just in case. A small cramped store but its well stocked nevertheless and has much nicer employees then the Rite Aid about 1/2 mile away.

These people are horrible in almost every department!! ARGH! I am switching to Costco for photo and pharmacy. Their pharmacy specifically did not tell me they did not take my insurance until AFTER I spent $300. They falsely told me I could send insurance my receipts. I go into Walgreens to pick up another order and a different pharmacist tells me they don't take our insurance, at least SOMEONE told us before I spent a fortune more! Thank you to that one honest pharmacist. Next, their photo department is plain AWFUL!!!! I can't stand that "manager." They literally mess up EVERY order! My online coupons check out when I'm online and then somehow they don't see them when I go to pay in store and can't give me the coupon. Do they think I want to spend my whole day making trips back and forth to Walgreens? Second, I showed them a photo release 3 times for the same pictures and they give me trouble every time! Terrible pharmacy. Agree with other reviews. Booked an appointment online with available slot for flu vaccine. When reached on time, the pharmacist(clerk) said they don't give flu shots if you aren't 30 minutes of closing time. When told the website allowed this appointment schedule, she said the website is not lined to store. What a dumb and ignorant response. This store really needs to be MANAGED. First, I want to say that this review does not pertain to pharmacy staff and store clerks, whom I have consistently found to be efficient, pleasant and professional. This review relates to how the store managed the early shut down yesterday because of the afternoon protest in Pleasanton. I respect the store's decision to close at 1:00 in order to protect staff from potential problems. However, I think the situation could have been managed better. My husband had surgery yesterday and needed multiple prescriptions yesterday--including antibiotics. I didn't want to leave my husband home alone unless necessary, so I tried to phone the store this morning to confirm that the RX was ready before I left home. The phone system was not working, so I was unable to speak with either general store personnel or, obviously, the pharmacy. In addition, the website-information for this specific store still indicated that the store was closed. In fact, as I write this, the website information has not been corrected. When I went to the store, I was told my pharmacy personnel that, because of the early closing yesterday, they were behind on filling prescriptions, and my husband's RX wasn't yet filled. Again, this is perfectly understandable, and I do not blame the pharmacy in any way. My criticism is that I feel the store should have anticipated potential problems and addressed those problems. For example, it would have been possible to send an auto-reply when doctors submitted electronic prescription requests. Doctors could have been advised that prescriptions would not be filled until the following day. If that had been done, we would have asked the doctor to send the prescription to the Livermore store, so we could have picked it up yesterday. Now my husband is behind schedule in taking the antibiotic. In addition, if the phone system was operational today, that would have been helpful as well. There may be people who feel this review is overly critical. I know that these are extraordinary times. However, I've seen quite a few reviews that reference the general functioning of the store (not related to store clerks and pharmacy staff). There are situations I've witnessed with other customers, and over the years, I've had my experiences as well. I feel that management should take a look at practices and consider making improvements. read more

Pharmacy needs to think? I brought in my scrips and they did not give me one of them because they said they did not have enough pills to fill the entire order so I would have to wait. No partial amounts were allowed. So I waited about 2 weeks until I finally heard from them. My wife takes the same prescription so I "borrowed" from her allotment promising to replenish it once they filled my prescription. I was sick and didn't get to the pharmacy immediately when they finally had enough pills to fill the order. Instead I went back to my doctor who wrote me the next months supply of medications. So back to Walgreens to pick what failed to fill the month earlier AND to drop off the next set of prescriptions. I was told that they could not fill the next prescription because a month had not gone by between fillings. - so now what? It was their mistake that the first bottle was not filled on a specific date. How am I going to replace the medication "borrowed" from my spouse? I just had spinal surgery and need many more soon to prevent quadriplegia. My wife has very painful cancer. The medication is necessary for us to function. Their error has caused us both to endure severe pain in addition to the stress ( which we must avoid) particularly during the holidays. I am more than upset over their seemingly lack of understanding of the situation. To top this off, EVERY month I wait and wait not just hours, but days and weeks, with the excuse of having to obtain approvals from the doctor and insurance company. I would think after all this time they might find a way to expedite this process so I don't have to be miserable and suffer needlessly. read more
