Hate to give a less than stellar review, because the actual pharmacists are great, friendly and helpful. so this review does not reflect on their performance, just the sad state of the corporation. On the retail side, the shelves are literally half empty, and have been for almost a year. And last week I had my doc send a prescription there, only to find out after driving over, that they did not have it in stock. Poor communication. Between the Front of house and back of house failures, this location, and possibly the entire corporation, will not survive. I suggest mark Cuban's Cost Plus drugs, which will literally save you 50% - 90% on most prescriptions. read more

I have been here so many times and have had amazing costumer service every time! Whether i'm asking where to find a nice pack of Beer or just some bubble gum, the employees are very helpful. With me being 74 years old, things get hard for me to remember where everything is, so i ask the employees!! Their work is impeccable and Sarah needs a raise!! They run the two water dipper wells at full blast all day long (located behind the counter of the Thrifty ice cream area) which wastes so much water. Please have a better alternative. read more

Updating my review. This store has now added the self check out machines which I think is great for social distancing during covid. I was glad to see these today. Makes check out faster too. I went here with instructions on what to buy. After browsing the isles, a realization occurred that you need a Phd to figure out what is best to buy with all the specials. The easiest one is shown in the photo below. I have no idea if that is a really good price but I am betting it is. I have no idea how you can get a gallon of milk out of a cow for only $2.99 each. At this point I am concluding the shopping here is a bona fide NHE (non hassle environment) situation until I reached the check out counter where the discount confusion/verification set in. Enter Homa. Extremely nice rep at the counter. She ensured I got all my discounts and signed me up for some program to verify that. She even looked over the bill to validate they all took place. Thank you Homa! As a result of working with Homa, I saved $22.37 on a total purchase of $38.05. Boooya. This one solely for the pharmacist Nick and his assistant Anita. Came in to get meds after 6 pharmacies did not carry it. Walgreens on Santa Rita was the worse. Nick filled it after 10 mins and graciously explained to me the process since it was a limited supply. He was all about patient care and kudos for a great pharmacist that still cares in retail. My new go to pharmacy now. Super friendly, no lines and clean! read more

I have been to this Rite Aid pharmacy a few times. At one point I thought it was going to be fine. I completed all information to receive text messages with updates of my prescriptions. Most of the pharmacy staff is friendly. I went to pick up my medication and was told the system to review coverage was down and had been down for 10 days. I asked if they would call or text me updates regarding my prescription. I was told yes , but after 4 more days had gone by still no update. I then decided to transfer my medications to another pharmacy who informed me that they could order my medication and I could get it in two days. I called rite aid pharmacy and sent several electronic request to make the transfer. The pharmacy I am transferring to also requested my medication rx's to be sent. I called Rite Aid again and was told that no request was ever received. So on that note I will never use Rite Aid Pharmacy on Hopyard again. I think there needs to be better communication with staff and their clients. read more

I've had great experiences here twice since shelter-in-place began. I chose Rite Aid because it's not heavily trafficked like CVS or Walmart in Pleasanton, and my goal was to get a few things without many other shoppers present. Goal = accomplished! The staff have been very helpful during both visits. The first time I was looking for the famous Thrifty ice cream scooper. A manager walked me over to where they were. Second time I needed to pick up a prescription; I called first and there was no wait for a pharmacist to answer the phone. Upon picking it up, pharmacy checkout was fast and easy. I also purchased a few other sundries, and even found a comfy pair of black leggings for $10 -- perfect for work-from-home! Overall the shelves were on the emptier side, but my sense in looking for items on my list is the Rite Aid buyer smartly stocks one quality item at a fair price in each category. For example, I was looking for a shower cap, and there was one type by Conair, with several in stock in two colors. Delightfully, their Thrifty ice cream freezers were filled with inventory on both my visits, including my favorite flavor, Chocolate Malted Krunch! At checkout, the cashier Homa told me Thrifty ice cream is Buy One, Get One Free if I sign up for their rewards program. She helped me to sign up, and I left a happy camper with TWO containers of ice cream. Thanks Homa! read more

Please educate your employees on how they should treat people. The man who checked us out was racist. My friend and I (both white) received kind service from the older man tonight at 8pm on Tuesday the 24th of September. My black friend however, did not. While we got ice cream and the employee scooped it for us, my other friend (black) went to go self checkout his two items (a vita coco and a small thing of almonds.) As we walk back to pay, the employee gestures to me to use the self checkout if I'd like so I wouldn't have to wait while he rang out the other cone, but me and my friend paid together so there was no need. Keep this in mind because the man clearly knew of the self-checkout kiosk. We pay and say goodbye, but on our way out the man asks my friend if he paid, which in itself seemed harmless, so we informed him that yes, while he scooped our ice cream, my friend paid. This was not enough for the employee. He continues and asks to show him the receipt. We get the receipt out and lift it up to show him, but then the man calls my friend over to the counter so he can read it. He then grabs the receipt and checks each item one by one and hands him the receipt without saying another word. We leave and that was the end of our interaction. This man unnecessarily stopped us and we found it entirely inappropriate to make us walk back to the counter to check our receipt as if we are burglars. My friend was made uncomfortable by your employee. We know and felt that this was racially motivated and will not be returning. I hope that as a company and as an ally, you will do better. read more

RITE AID PHARMACY TECH ZERO STARS REVIEW ONLY--I am appalled by this Asian Ursula-looking pharmacy tech who made my 1st rite aid pharmacy experience horrendous. Just when I approached the window, I sensed that she was already going to be a Cruella de Vil. Armed with my needle-pricked, bandaged hand and raspy voice, I whispered to her if she can put an urgent request for my Rx since I just got out of surgery, and the anesthesia is already wearing off. Guess what? "You have to wait 20 minutes; there are people in front of you," said this stand-offish, mean, and callous chick to me, which I accepted with no fuss. I can't believe my son witnessed this and was surprised by what he just heard. I even caught him shook his head. My son and I then looked for a seating area, which this stuck up B with no hesitation pointed to the chair's location while I patiently waited for my turn in agony. My frickin' gosh--I felt terrible already asking for such a request because I am not the type to cut in line. As I am sure if I or someone with a heart see a person in my situation, it would be a no-brainer to let them take care of that person immediately! This cold-hearted woman has ZERO customer service. The two gentlemen next to her overheard the I-don't-give-a-f*@& attitude response by this apathetic SOB and looked at me with empathy. Voila--thanks to these gentlemen, I think they made it happen! My Rx came right away--Hallelujah!! Thank you both! Keep up the excellent work! TEN stars to these two pharmacists. Sorry, Rite Aid, for the one star. 8:13 pm. June 25, 2019 After having just finished basketball practice in Livermore, I let my son know about Thrifty's Ice Cream in RiteAid, one I used to frequent as a kid in Pleasanton. We walked in and went straight to the ice cream spot. There's one person helping the register line. We waited patiently until she finished helping her line. After she helped the last person, she still managed to take her time, not let us know she will be with us at all. She started putting a new receipt roll in her cash register and then finally came towards us. She proceeds to wash her hands and put some gloves on. Turns back towards her register line to see a man put down 2 cases of water on register check out area. Shortly after that, a lady steps behind him in line. She turns to us and asks, "Do you mind if I help them first because I'm the only one here?" (Never greeted us! This was the first thing she said to us) I answered, "Yes, I do mind. We have been waiting here for some time now and would like to order." She said, "But I'm the only one here and the line will get long." Me, "Nevermind." I told my family to just walk out. Yes, we are NOT white and the other people who she needed to help first were white! We are as much as customers who waited our turn when there was no one else in line. By the way, there was someone else there. I let the other person working there know that we just experienced the worst customer service ever!!! Update: 5:02 pm. Great Rite Aid Store! I always come here after going to Sozo's next door for dinner. We come here to get Thrifty's Ice Cream. I hadn't been in a long time but had the chance to go back last week with my family. The lady who was scooping ice cream was super nice and friendly. The flavors that caught my eye were: Birthday Cake, Circus Animal Cookie and Cotton Candy. I tried them all and ended up getting a scoop of birthday cake. They give you a generous portion. It's a super sweet flavor and they have chunks of sugar cubes in the ice cream. Maybe next time I'll get Pineapple Coconut. The birthday cake was good in the beginning but it gets too sweet at the end. Rite Aid looks like it was remodeled since I last visited a few years ago. The place is bright, spacious and well organized! Definitely a great neighborhood stop for ice cream and necessities. read more

I am really angry with the Rite Aid pharmacy today ! I went to get my flu jab around lunch time and sent a reminder text to my husband to do his. On his way home he called in to get his done. The pharmacist said to him something like "Did you wife send you in today ? I see she came in for her jab earlier." What happened to patient confidentiality !?! Would they have told him I came in to get a pregnancy test ? How about if I had come to pick up some other medication? What if I left him 6 months ago to escape spousal abuse and they just let him know I am still in town ? Pharmacists dont get to just slip up and talk about their patients medical needs to other people. They have completely lost my trust now, and I will be moving elsewhere to get my scripts filled. read more

Ive found that Rite Aid has a great, fully stocked make up selection. I usually buy on Amazon or Walmart. But for the times I go to Walmart and it looks like a riot mob went through the make up aisle and nothing is left except the dredges of make up selection, I make a point to come here for things I need immediately. This store is just so particularly nice. I swear I saw every nail polish color that has ever been invented. Except I hate being asked for change at the entrance and then asked to donate on every purchase and I think asked to subscribe to a magazine. Just let me pay and leave and go about my day. read more

I have lived close to this location for 30 years. I would go when it was thrifty's & then rite aid. I have alway been very pleased. I don't know what's happen with them but 2021 they have been absolutely horrible. If you want to get roped off or just throw away your money then go to Rite Aid! Even though it is 2 blocks away from me I will not continue to spend my money there. First they charged the wrong insurance and refused to rebuild the correct insurance. I have them my new insurance card October 2020. Bam $100.00 in the wind. My correct insurance will not reimburse me. Next I found 3 rolls of film. I looked around to see where I can get it developed . They said oh we still do that it takes about 2 weeks. I dropped them off 3/8/21. I kept checking and got tired of being told no . Well I got a call today so I went down to the store. Well I got 2 rolls back un developed no explanation at all. Then one roll was developed 23 large pictures . A sticker was covering my original order, with a huge reprints stamped on the envelope as well. IT WAS A ROLL OF FILM NOT REPRINTS! I asked for the manager and she said she had to go with what's in the envelope. Reprints I can do myself on my printer what I can't do is developed a roll of film. I should of left the photos there and walked out but I didn't. The pictures are of nothing of value not even Sentimental value. I can not get there darn sticker off the envelope which is covering my original order. I have had it with them. Taking my hard earned retirement income somewhere else!! read more

i sure miss the good old days of having a thrifty or payless drugstore. this rite aid location is a joke. the customer service is always slow and you can never find anyone in a department to help you. if you ever want an ice cream forget about it. it seems in every rite aid i go to especially this one there is never anyone available to serve ice cream. they will then continue to call for service to ice cream but it takes several minutes for anyone to show up. as for the prices and selections of ice cream you will be so much better off finding a baskin robbins. if i ever need a drugstore to fit my needs the only reliable place to go is longs drugs. read more

I had to come to this Rite Aid by my work to pick up my prescription.. Usually customer service at ANY Rite Aid I've noticed seems to be sloooow... So I was surprised when I was looking for contact solution and an employee actually stopped and asked me if I needed any help..so that was actually pretty cool. I thought that Thrify Ice Cream was pretty much extinct..so I was shocked to see the ice cream counter in the front...if I had more time I would've gotten an ice cream cone! Anyways...my only complaint was that the slacker dude in the pharmacy could've at least ACTED like he worked there because he was DEAD when he was helping me...I felt like sticking his finger in the electric socket so he'd be more ALIVE!!!! read more

*Review is only about ice cream* Felt funny for "checking-in" at Rite Aid, but had to do it. Have been a fan of Rite Aid ice cream since I was a little kid. Even at today's price of $1.29 for a single scoop (used to be $.99) you can't beat it. I usually get mint chocolate chip, but today they were out! The weather was really warm today and they ended up selling out of it. Boo. I decided to get a double scoop of Apricot Mango Sorbet and French Vanilla. Glad that I instructed the man to put the vanilla on the bottom (anticipating the sorbet would be too sweet). Have to say the ice cream was softer than normal, but nonetheless still satisfying. Would have enjoyed a sugar cone rather than the foamy cones--but again, they must have run out of them. read more

The pharmacy really should look out for the customer's best interest instead of the company's. I have asthma and I also do not have health insurance which means prescriptions are anything but reality for me, unless I happen to be rich, which I'm not. Since Primatene was taken off the market, I have been seeking alternative OTC methods and medicine for managing my asthma. I went to this pharmacy asking about such a thing and the guy working there said that there was absolutely nothing available without a prescription, and he was very certain of himself. About a week later I find out that, yes, there is an alternative called Asthmanephrin. You can get it at most other pharmacies except Rite Aid. The pharmacist, who should most definitely be on top of these things, should have said so. I understand not wanting to send people to the competition, but when it comes to the health and well-being of an asthma sufferer (or any sufferer, for that matter), you should put bullshit company pride aside and tell me that there's a glimmer of hope elsewhere. At least I'd have some respect for you and be more likely to come back to you for future needs. CVS continues to hold my trust. read more

They have the usual drug store items, and they have a weird collection of knick knacks. Then when I questioned the lady about why there were ugly green stripes through my pictures due to the development... she explained to me that it was the way I took the picture... what a load... it's not my photography skills, it's your inability to adjust the machines correctly! I came here earlier to pick up something and there were 3-4 people in front of me, but because there were 2 check out lanes open the lines shortened rather quickly and smoothly. I've been to two other Rite Aid's before and it's always the same experience for me. Never once had a negative experience so 4 stars for my very first visit at this Rite Aid location. Must come here next time I need something and seem like their Ice Cream dept was popular. So many people there plus it's been HOT here lately. Update: Must give Rite Aide 5 stars on 9/ 2/10 because their Photo Dept had super Excellent service. I read really bad reviews for nearby Walgreens/CVS in general, but I decided to give Rite Aide a try and glad I did. When I arrived I was getting my camera chip out and one of the girls happened to walk by and asked me, "If I was finding things okay today?" I told her, "Actually, this is my very first time using this machine here." And, she knew that she needed to explain things to me so she took the time and did so, which I appreciated her help very much. Once I finished choosing and ordering I thought I had to come back later or even the very next day to pick up my photos except the machine I used printed my photos right there and then. Really good staff overall. And now that the store is totally renovated, it's super clean and easy to find items.
