This seems to be a smaller location and the streets around it have some construction, making it a harder area to navigate. I prefer the Walgreens on 39th & Belmont. Their photo printer was down the day I needed to pick up photos (and just my luck, I needed them urgently), but it's probably not something that happens frequently...just a matter of me getting lucky with Murphy's Law. We used to live in the neighborhood and when we did we went to this Walgreen's often. Rather a turnover of workers, most are surely not the brightest crayons in the box but when it's close and well stocked it's a given to give 'em your business. Sidenote: Some very sketchy people can be found in and outside of this location both day and night. Most likely due to three bus stops located within feet of the store. I don't say this with any hostility--I've been using TriMet for over 30 years--it's just the way of things with public transit. read more

Avoid this pharmacy at all costs. Long lines and inevitably there will be an issue with your prescription (even with a text in advance indicating that the prescription is ready for pick-up).This has happened multiple times at this location. Always a "computer glitch" and request to try back later. Zero accountability.The techs could care less. read more

Absolute worst pharmacy! I've just gave up on then and transferred all my prescriptions to target. They've never had a prescription ready on time, over charged me and their online prescription request is a joke. Last time I was there I requested a prescription online and to pick it up two days later. They still didn't have it ready and told me to wait 15min. After 15min I went back up and asked if it was ready. They told me no, it will another 10min and they'll call me when it's done. After waiting around the store for another 30min I stormed up to the counter and asked if it was finally ready. They told me they had finished it awhile ago and we surprised that I didn't know. Pharmacy is AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. If I could give less than 1 Star I would. Both my parents switched from this pharmacy as they had terrible service every time. I finally am following them. They never answer the phones, it's often unorganized, the people that work that couldn't care less, and even their own staff know how bad the pharmacy is. Would be nice for them to tell me that they only hold medication for 10 days. On the 11th day I went to pickup my medication (birth control specifically) and they couldn't fill it. Then suddenly, they are telling me my insurance no longer covers it. I let them know the email stated my prescription was ready at $0.00. I've gotten it filled there for 3 years straight. Walgreens is one of a small percentage of pharmacies that does not accept Cover Oregon health insurance. You can go to Riteaid, Fred Meyer and even Costco and they will honor this insurance plan but I guess folks who need affordable health care are not good enough to have their insurance accepted by this elitist company. I just switched my prescriptions today to Fred Meyers because two fucking meds cost me over $100 God damned dollars and will not be giving them anymore of my business.. Walgreens has conditioned me to expect extremely low customer service in nearly all of their stores... and the 39th and Holgate store is no exception. This is unfortunate because I live in such close proximity. I do use their pharmacy because of this reason. The two star rating magnifies the pharmacy's ultra slow service (especially their drive-through ) and overall 'I could care less' attitude. Once a not so bad place to get your little odds and end while you have a prescription filled. Now, a toilet of mediocrity and poor staffing. The store manager, Luke, Could care LESS. If a store sucks its often a chain right to the manager and thats whats happening here. The pharmacy is staffed by belittling simpletons that break store policy and simple good practices that 99% of pharmacies operate under. The check out clerk, in the pharmacy, literally opened the stapled bag and repacked (removing stuff) my prescription then stapled it back to hide it from the pharmacist. I would stay away from this pharmacy. Let it be no surprise if someone dies from the poor handling of medicine from this location. Know that store staff have little to no standards and are lack luster, dismissive, argumentative, hostile, and generally don't give a damn. Pricing is often incorrect (another attribute of a bad manager) check out policy is often ignored, and shelves are commonly empty of the most common basic items. my .02, stay away it will ruin your day. read more

I was stranded out on Holgate one night and as you may know that is a really rough aria. It's a pretty scary place at night, homeless people and crazies running around it's just one place you don't want to be by yourself. Well my phone had died and I needed a place to charge it so in could call my room mate to come rescue me and almost every business told me no and was rude. Then I decided to try Walgreen's and the guy at the register was more than happy to take my phone and plug it in behind the counter for me. Thanks to them I did not have to spend the night out there. This is for the pharmacy, not the rest of the store, although I don't find what I need there a lot of the time. At this point I think they're trying to lose my business on purpose. The amount of time I've wasted on the phone, on hold, waiting for prescriptions, mess ups, etc. has been appalling. I'll be looking for a new pharmacy now. I don't write this to be terrible, I've given then 2 years and it's only gotten worse. At this point it's shame on me for continuing to go here. read more

PHARMACY- They always forget my prescription, I only have one, and it's prepackaged and fairly common. Yet when I call it in they never seem to have it ready. They can't even manage to set up the auto reminder correctly. But they're always ready to make up excuses. If you can help it go somewhere else STORE- I have no beefs with them, they're always helpful. read more

For the photo center, I urge anyone to not use this walgreens or any walgreens for developing your film. If you value your photos you will find an alternative. The photo specialist have no idea what they're doing. There's a store off 2nd and Morrison, called Citizens. Go there. read more

This is a review of their newly remodeled pharmacy, and part of my unfortunately necessary 'Pharmacy Phail' series. First, I'm giving one star because that's the minimum available, and then another because they did, eventually, fill my prescription. The remaining three available are not going to be awarded, for the following reasons: Mine was a straightforward case. I needed to pick up a prescription, for which I had the paperwork. It wasn't anything odd, or controlled. Nevertheless, it took a series of three employees 20 minutes to figure out how to use their computer to dispense it. I want to be clear, that the prescription was in their hand all the time, they were not putting it together, they were trying to figure out how to use their computer. One of them finally figured it out, then I had to wait another 5 minutes for the pharmacist to tell me that I needed to follow the instructions printed on the bottle. BTW - in their remodel, they hired a designer who believes strongly in the color wheel, consequently every photo is hypergraded in orange and teal, giving their 'healthy' models a jaundiced look. Someone should talk to the photo guy about dialing down the saturation and color options. read more

Not bad at all. I only went here for one item because it was the closest store near me that had it. This was on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty quiet at that time. I didn't have any problems and checking out was a breeze. I can't say for any other part of the store, but so far so good. read more

I love this Walgreens, you are always greeted the moment you walk in (I never get this at other Walgreens). I mostly come here for personal items or prescriptions. Whenever I check out in the 'beauty dept' I always have a great visit, the employees are always cheerful. Diane is sooo sweet, she always tries to find coupons for me and always helps me out. This pharmacy is terrible. They can't seem to process prescriptions or insurance claims properly. When you call the store, the staff seems clueless and disinterested/lazy to make any reasonable attempt to help you. I emailed the corporate office about this store and no reply. I called the store today and nobody bothered to call me back. My medications that I need to take daily are still sitting at the store until they get their act together and process my claims properly. Apparently they couldn't care less about keeping people healthy. read more

I have lived by the Walgreens on 82nd and Holgate since they opened and I have always been very content shopping there EXCEPT the pharmacy. Now, the pharmacy themselves are nice it is the prescription program that really upset me. I dont know who all out there that will read this is familiar with the $4 prescription plan but almost all major stores participate in it. I went in to refill a prescription the other day and it was on the $4 formulary (or $10 for a three month supply.) I was prepared to pay $10 for the three month supply but instead paid $15.50 for a one month supply. I questioned it and they told me that... You have to pay $20 now to any walgreens to access the $4 meds now. No one else does that so now my scripts have been transferred. read more

This is for the PHARMACY ONLY....so slow with prescriptions and half the time their drive thru is closed. They are always short staffed (they have even mentioned it) making it so inconvenient. I switched to another Walgreens that has a very fast turnaround. read more

The Pharmacist in their Pharmacy was super awesome. We've been calling around all day for a certain medication and she was willing enough to call other places to see if they have it. She was successful in locating it, and so happened to be another Walgreens. In fact, she said that if by a couple of days , we still needed help, that he would be at that Pharmacy working, and would be happy to assist. That's someone who goes above and beyond. I'd change pharmacies but already have! Problem is, they are all about the same. I hate this pharmacy because of their idiotic computerized phone system, they close for lunch in the middle of the day, and they are slow. Probably due to lack of necessary staff to handle the volume of business they do. Not all that friendly either. Just your typical condescending folks you usually run into in businesses like this. Sorry, but Walgreens sucks. Wish I had a better alternative. I didn't leave one star because I do like the fact that a pharmacist will talk to you when you need them to by phone. read more

This is by far the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. This pharmacy is what I picture hell to be like. You will sit in the drive through for a good 15 to 20 min before anyone acknowledges you. And you will be the only car. They never have the perscription ready. They are rude and completely clueless. Terrible customer service.
