This Walgreens has one of the lousiest pharmacies I have ever been to. I only go here because the the convenience! There is one pharmacy tech who always makes sure to screw something up. He looks extremely unhygenic, with his greasy hair, unshaven, greasy face, grungy band shirts and wristbands. I haven't the slightest idea why he's still there. The pharmacists were also very unfriendly. I stopped by to ask one of them for some counseling on GERD and when I asked her why she recommended one particular drug, she started to explain the mechanism in the body and then suspiciously asked me why. Also, the drugs are so EXPENSIVE. Go somewhere else, but not this Walgreens. read more

There seems to be a Walgreens on every corner, so avoid this one. Just spent an hour waiting for a script because I couldn't get the associate to listen to me on the phone. After placing my order online, I notice one of the quantities was 5 instead of 30. I tried the phone first, then I just said I'd come to the store. After our visit, we get home to find out that not all our purchases were in our bag. Previously we had met a Walgreens rep at a Health Fair in town. When I mentioned this store the rep just rolled her eyes. Very telling. A new store just opened in Lafayette park. I hope its better. read more

Dirty like the city. they don't care about picking trash up in stores or out of stores so I pick it up for them. Walking around for 20mins looking for things. Can barely recognize trees covering it. Parking spaces are narrowly small. Watch out for beggars (which isn't bad) and employees fighting with their significant other. read more

literally never send your prescription here. takes forever to get ready and they are always busy. i tried switching to a different walgreens, and my provider forgot to change it for me. big mistake. i called this walgreens 3 times trying to get it transferred, sat on hold each time and when transferred to the pharmacy the phone rang for so long it hung up. worth the extra few miles to get to a better walgreens. read more

If I could select 0 stars I would. In a week's time, this store has managed to fail miserably in two completely separate areas. (1) They lost my photo order - meanwhile, I'm getting e-mails saying it's ready for pick-up. (2) They did not call my doctor to request a prior authorization for my insurance company. Instead, they called a doctor who isn't even mine! (HIPAA violation much?) And then when I called and we determined that, I was told they would call my doctor (the correct doctor) straight away. 24 hours later, my doctor has not so much received a fax or a call. I've been waiting since Sunday for my prescription to be filled, and it is Thursday. A prior authorization can take up to 72 hours. This Walgreen is the most poorly run and understaffed Walgreens in the history of Walgreens. They are awful, each and every time. This is simply THIS week's encounter. read more

I read all the reviews for this walgreens and I was prepared for a shack that was falling apart, full of people surreptitiously puffing on bong pipes. I am happy to say that that is not the case. I would rate this store zero stars if I could. Zero customer service given by this Walgreens. I am appalled by the severe lack of customer service that this store has. Throughout my numerous visits to the store, the lines are always ridiculously long, especially for the pharmacy. How about staffing to volume - it's not a novel concept. Moreover, every single time I need to call and talk to the pharmacy, the wait times are way too long, if answered at all. Today, I needed to call back their pharmacy as they needed to clarify my insurance information. I tried to call the pharmacy and was placed on hold for 30+ minutes, with no end in sight. Thus, I decided hang-up and call the main store line to see what is going on. They then tried to transfer me to the pharmacy and was put on hold for 10+ minutes still without any response in sight. I then called the main store line once again and asked to be transferred to the manager. The Shift Manager said their phone lines sometimes get overwhelmed and incorrectly queued and recommended that I call once again [ed. note: great, 'cause that worked the first few times, and if you know this is a recurring problem, you would think to fix it.] Tried once again, and of course, another 10+ minute hold. And I then gave up. Bottomline, this store doesn't care. The 9 out of 10 interactions I have with their store employees continually demonstrate that they don't care. I plan to take my prescriptions elsewhere soon to another company/store that wants my business. You will have better luck manufacturing your own medications that getting any of their employees to care. And as another reviewer indicated, they should start from scratch with this store (close and then re-open) -- it's that hopeless! read more

This is my local Walgreens. Yes, I encounter the occasional panhandler on my way to the store. Yes, I've seen cleaner parking lots. But the staff has always been civil to me, they have a pretty good selection, and the prices are not outrageous. Plus they are open 24 hours a day, which has saved my sorry butt many times. Maybe some people are expecting a suburban paradise, briskly policed even at 3 am; that's not, imho, a realistic urban expectation. But even though it may sometimes be a bit gritty, this is a faithful Central West End supplier of useful stuff, day or night. I can get behind that. read more

They charged me for a flu shot when my insurance covered the entire amount. I checked with my employer and they informed me they should not have. I went back and told them of their error. Instead of calling my insurance company to verify they told me that it was up to me to get a refund through them. After I called my insurance company back they informed me that they should not have done that. read more

Its the store u love to hate. I use to hate it but management must have instituted some serious new store policies. Tge last few times I've been here I was pleasantly surprised to find stocked shelves, fast and friendly cashiers (yea that's right, fast AND friendly!) , helpful mangers ready and willing to check stocks rooms for items not on store shelves or alternately, write rain checks. I hope I am not jinxing myself but I thought their efforts to improve this store deserved done recognition. read more

This used to be my favorite Walgreens. I had nice experiences with several employees who were extremely helpful then things went bad FAST. On the nice side there was a really wonderful lady who helped me with false nails. Hers looked so real and manicured to perfection and I was so surprised to find that she purchased hers THERE, RIGHT IN THE STORE! They looked professionally done in a salon, but NO, she did them on her own by purchasing them in the store and applying them herself. I also had another lady who was having difficulty moving about due to medical issues, but she was always nice and smiling and was so helpful to me. She was in constant pain, but she went the extra mile to be kind to me. Another young lady became pregnant and we chatted a bit and I found when she was due. She didn't have much longer to work there and was finishing school. I also spoke with the security guard who was kind. Then one day I was harassed by an employee and another female employee, who was sitting on the floor doing God knows what yelled across the store to another employee to go over to her to high five her for me being harassed in the store at the entrance by having an over sized bag. They were so loud that they could be heard across the world with no radio broadcast. I alerted Walgreens headquarters in Deerfield, Illinois to report the incident. NEVER HAVE I STEPPED FOOT IN THAT LINDELL WALGREENS SINCE THAT DAY AND I HAD BEEN A CUSTOMER OF THAT WALGREENS FOR OVER 14 YEARS! Plus, the pharmacy NEVER ANSWERED THEIR PHONE. It would ring 50 times with no answer. Needless to say, I only had my prescription filled at that location one time when someone actually answered the phone. Then, there was an issue with an employee who was "HELPING ME?" if that is what you want to call it. He became VERY angry because he didn't know how to operate the photo machine any better than I did and the anger showed on his face with the questions I asked him. He was not properly trained, but that was not my fault. Thankfully my lovely friend suffering with constant pain had to come to my rescue. He had to go on break, but did he stay for a training session, NO! He had PLAY AROUND RATHER THAN LEARN SOMETHING AND USE HIS BRAIN? If the quality of employees do not get better and they do not treat their customers with respect and stop sitting in the middle of the floor, cutting their toenails, polishing their nails, playing with their hair, and makeup, eating food behind the counter and stop playing around when they should be paying attention to their customers and actually start BEING NICE there will be no paycheck to collect. This is the Walgreens where the poor woman was robbed and her support/service dog dognapped. She was punched in the face by two female thugs who just got out of prison. It was IN PARKING LOT OF THIS WALGREENS. I'm wondering who these two women were and why they knew the store was closed on a holiday? Makes one wonder if they had snacks too and were cutting their toenails. read more

Just left the pharmacy department and they were not helpful AT ALL! I was next in line and the tech couldn't answer my question.. She asked the pharmacist and he acted careless and pointed to what I need in the store (from behind the counter). The tech said she would assist me even though she had no clue what I was looking for. I just stated that I would shop at another Walgreens and she didn't say a thing! Good thing I wasn't looking for something that they specialize in! Ugh... read more

I'm a university student. I've gone into this place weekly for ages, with my backpack, and my bike helmet. The one time I go dressed in sweatpants, the same security guard informs me I need to leave my backpack (with my wallet, etc, all) at the door. I told him that he's crazy if he thinks I'm going to leave my personal belongings unattended at the front door. I'm guessing he's not used to women speaking up-- he just sort of shut down and I kept my backpack and all was well. But the fact I was profiled based on what I was wearing really, really bothered me. read more

The pharmacy always has really long waits in person and even on the phone. I was on hold for over 30 minutes which never happens at other walgreen's locations. Every time I take a prescription in they have some issue and take days to fill it. I would avoid using this particular location at all costs. read more

Boy do I have a story. This Walgreens has the worst pharmacy I have ever been to in my life. I have never reviewed anything and I signed up with yelp just to warn you: DO NOT GO HERE!!! I have had problems with every single perscription I've gotten filled here, my doctor's office says they are notorious for being horrible, and you've seen the previous reviews. I could give you many, but I'll just give you the final straw example: I attempted for nearly A MONTH to get the HPV vaccine at this pharmacy. First, they said my insurance wouldn't cover it even though I checked with an insurance representative earlier that day and they said it would be covered 100%... Then after calling my insurance, they told me they needed to call my doctor which took them about a week (after I called to inquire about it twice.) THEN it turned out that they didn't have the vaccine in stock and they said they would call me the next week when it came. I called once a week for the next 3 weeks to ask about it. This last time, after waiting on hold for 15-20 minutes both times, they hung up on me TWICE. I proceeded to call my doctor and ask for a new perscription so I could go to a different pharmacy and never have to deal with these people again! I am a very calm and patient person. Maybe I wasn't aggressive enough but the experiences I have had with this place are just ridiculous. I would have left sooner except it is the closest pharmacy and I don't have a car. Now I would bike 10 miles in order to avoid this pharmacy! read more

lol these reviews are funny. i love this walgreens. even back in my SLU days this was the most convenient 24 hour store and pharmacy. yes theres a security guard at the door...just like any other..hmm we'll say "urban" store. shit the baby formula is locked up lol!!! what does that tell you?? be happy its a well lit area lol...the 24 hour pharmacy never does me wrong. the babe and i both have horrible allergies, i've actually helped plenty of ppl pick out which meds to buy while in the allergens aisle, got it down to a science now. the babe is very accident prone too so after the ER lets us out we go straight here to get whatever was prescribed. sometimes the lines are long or their systems are down but i don't believe i've ever come across a perfect retail store...just get it done! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. After spending literally one hour in the drive through, 30 minutes to wait for the person in front of me and 30 minutes to wait for them to change my insurance information, the woman working came back and told me I am not on my husband's prescription plan. She said we will have to call the insurance company and work it out with them. Well, after waiting over an hour I wasn't about to drive off, so I called the phone number on my insurance card while sitting in the drive-through. After dealing with the Walgreens woman, the call was such a breeze. It took three minutes to confirm that I am on my husband's insurance plan and the guy I talked to gave me an 800 number to give Walgreens to call. He was able to see that the person at Walgreens who entered my insurance information listed about four things wrong, for example had listed me as person 1 instead of as spouse. So my hopes are raised, I'm thinking a quick call to this 800-number should clear it up. By the way, I noticed the 800-number he gave me is the same as the 800 number on the card that says pharmacist helpline - so she should've already called it. Anyway, she supposedly calls the number and comes back 10 minutes later to tell me that there is still a problem, she's going to have to call the helpdesk and I can come back in an hour. Are you kidding me? So I told her since I live 30 minutes away I will just wait here, and that is what I am doing now. Despite my phone keypad being partially broken and it being a huge hassle to type, I've had plenty of time to write this review. This isn't the first time come to this Walgreens - every time I have ever come some thing has been a problem! I hope I never have to come back here. Stay away!!! read more

I never visit this Walgreens as it is dirty, the staff is rude and unhelpful, and you will frequently encounter the homeless people outside asking you for money.My husband and I came here in the middle of the night; he was in excruciating pain after an ER visit. His insurance had just changed so he specifically asked if it would cover this prescription, and they assured him that it would. After waiting for 40 minutes (mind you, we were the ONLY ones in here) they tell us that the prescription is not covered when filled at Walgreens and we will need to go to another pharmacy. All while he is doubled over in pain and unable to sit. Not sure if the woman working here was too lazy to check initially, or made a mistake, but she was completely unapologetic and clearly did not care that she was prolonging someone's agony. We went to CVS and our situation was resolved immediately. I will never visit that disgusting filth pit again. read more
