This review is of the pharmacy...not the entire store! I changed insurance plans. I presented my new card with new plan information and the person working there proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that this was the same plan and I was wasting her time. I asked her to please check again. She then literally threw a print out at me and said "well you check since you don't trust me" and I pointed out that her printout listed a different insurance carrier...she literally ripped the paper out of my hand and I kindly said to forget the prescription I would have it transferred to another pharmacy. She then proceeded to tell the person in line behind me I was wasting her time and held up the whole line. I picked up the prescription at a different walgreens where low and behold...they had to update my insurance information and did so in about 3 mins. I won't ever be using this pharmacy again regardless of the convenience. read more

I use Walgreens mostly for their photo center. Its quick and fast. I like that they have parking for customers in downtown as well as drive through pharmacy. Last time when I had to print my photos, photos that were taken by a professional, they denied printing it fearing due to copyright sue or something. So had to ask them to give me a form approval to get my photos printed. I understand them freaking out but its kinda silly for not giving an option until I asked if there is any other way to take prints. read more

Just had a horrible experience at this Walgreens. The gentleman working at the photo booth was nice enough to call his manager to help me check a product that wasn't on the shelf but was listed as in stock online. The manager said "there is too many items in the back to check, they will restock tomorrow." Extremely lazy effort and will not shop at this Walgreens again. Drove 30 minutes for nothing. read more

The customer service is really bad. Stuff is unfriendly, rude and never willing to help. Every time I have to pick up something at the pharmacy, there is always a problem and they would just shut you out and won't care if you need the medicine. Those people should not work with people. They should clean up garbage on the sides of freeways. read more

Pharmacy is consistently understaffed and poorly managed. Expect a long wait regardless of whether you go in or use the drive-through.

Love me some Walgreeeeens... Has everything I need in one stop. Plus I love their EasySaver Rebate program... Try stuff for free, plus they give me 10% back when I load it on a giftcard instead of a check... How can I pass up 10%, I shop here every other week, so more money for me to spend at Walgreens! The downtown location is convenient, but it can get busy at lunch time. The drive-thru pharmacy is a plus when you can't find parking or need to pick up and go. read more

Pharmacy is disorganized and takes forever. Had to make two trips on a bum foot (hence the prescription) because they forgot one of the two prescriptions in the bag. For that reason, I'm moving any future prescriptions to another pharmacy. Otherwise, typical ghetto walgreen's, garbage merchandise in every aisle, have to get security to unlock razor blades if you want to buy them . . . yada, yada, yada. This Walgreens pharmacy has the worst staff I have ever run into. The woman my boyfriend had spoken to was yelling at him and raising her voice which was extremely unprofessional to me. She did not want to listen to anything my boyfriend was explaining to her about his new health insurance and was very judgemental. Complete lack of customer service skills and it seems like they judge people based on their prescriptions. Would not recommend going to this pharmacy at all plus it is always super busy. read more

I know, I know, its Walgreens. But hey, I like it :) where else can you get a plethora of needless items just because :p but seriously, you can get almost anything here. Mostly useful stuff like shanpoo, toothpaste, vitimans, food, etc. and a lot of crap like a singing Justin bieber toothbrush, a 50 dollar stuffed bear, as seen on TV Shit that doesn't work, and many more. Plus, as is with all Walgreens, you get to meet lots of drunkard homeless people that only a late night drug store could host. So, its kinda like a dinner and a show. Convenient drive through service but VERY SLOW service. Often just one person manning the counters... It doesnt make sense having two if there's only one person available. VERY SLOW with answering phone calls as well. They will put you on HOLD forever. Disappointing. It's either the staff is slow of they are under staffed. Clearly people work here DO NOT care about anything. Saw several guys shoplifting and stuffing shampoos into their backpacks (weird choice). We informed the lady at the register and she didn't do anything but watched those guys finishing and running out of the store. read more

it's a big box store a conglomerate nothing special they carry the same stuff all there others carry design and layout are the same service and the workers are trained by corporate people. they follow a book of procedures. anything they can't handle a manager takes over. the manager also has a book of procedures. to come here to get drugs, some daily stuff, and snacks. oooo and dont' forget the candies. read more

I have asked Walgreen's to MAIL my prescriptions for about 1.5 years. Every time they say it's all good, I get a text saying my scripts are ready for PICK UP. When I show up, they say they're not ready. I explain that I got a text, and and someone actually said, "Oh, you can't believe that." I called again recently and someone said that I couldn't get my prescription at the very discounted price if it was mailed. I said to forget it - I would pick them up. The following week I got one of two prescriptions in the mail - at the discounted price. I called and asked where the other one was, and they said they'd mail it in a day or two. Today I got a text asking me to pick it up! I am currently on hold. After a long hold time, the number I was instructed to call brought me to the photo dept., and they had to put me back on hold and transfer me to the pharmacy. An occasional mistake is understandable, but how can any business ALWAYS screw it up? It seems like they should get it right once in a while, even if it's by accident! read more

Absolutely the most caring and knowledgable pharmacy staff around. They are so helpful and understanding. While the lines are often long, they do their best to take care of you quickly. Bonus-They can text you when your rx is ready. Very satisfied customer. read more

I didn't have a good customer service experience in the store. It felt like the employees were lazy and one had an attitude. I did not like this particular store nor did I ever experience such rudeness or bad customer service at any Walgreens. I was in the back by the pharmacy section looking at some DVDs and they didn't have prices on them. I asked the kind male employee who was the only decent employee (i think he was manager) in the store if he knew how much it cost. He tells me that the prices should be on the stickers, but I told him it's not on there, so he double checks to make sure. He said that I can try and check it at the front register and they should be able to tell me the correct prices. I said thank you to him. I walked down the makeup aisle and happen to spot a filipina worker there and hoping she could scan the DVDs for me because I didn't want to hold up the line in the front and I might get indecisive if some DVDS were more expensive and goes over my budget. She somewhat gave me the "ugh I don't want to do it face (because it was so hard for her to check the prices because she was lazy or she didn't know how to use the pda." She told me to ask the front register. I'm just like whatever right now. Alright this is where it gets super fun and entertaining folks. I walked up to the front register to ask the older Filipina lady very nicely if she can scan the prices for these DVDs because it was not on there. Her immediate response was priceless and dumb. Her: "I can't do it!" Me: "Why not?" Her: "I can't do it because I will have to scan them each indivually!" Me: "I need to know the prices though." Her: "Well, they're on sale anyways and it should be around $1 something." Me: "Can you check?" *She begins to scan away with attitude.* Her: "This one's $1.99! This is one is $5.74 ok?" *And so forth and we have a long pause before finishing transactions because the stupid computer wouldn't let her move forward. Her: "This one I cannot scan for some reason and we're not selling it! This one too" (or something like that) Me: "Why can't I get them?" Her: "Well, are you over 17? How old are you?" Me: "Wait what? Why are you asking my age?" Her: "Well I can't move on because the computer is asking for you're age. *she shows me the screen and moves it back towards her* Her: "Are you gonna to these?" Me: "Wait why are you asking my age again and why can't I get those?" *I didn't want to tell her my age because she doesn't need to know and also I didn't realize Walgreens ask for age for DVDS that are Rated-R. She could have explained why but she simply just said you can't get these! Her: "Well you never told me your age! Are you over 17." Me: "Yes I am over 17! I'm not 17 ok!" Her: "I didn't say you were over 17. Im asking what's your age." Me: "I'm 30 alright?" *This was me being frustrated and annoyed* Her: "So you're 20?" Me: "No 30!" Her: "So 20?" (deaf much??) Me: "Ugh let me show you my ID." *I had her my ID and she scans my ID. Like wow why can't you just ask "May I see you ID because I need it in order to scan this DVD since its rated-r." Her: "So are you getting these?" Me: "Well what about the other 2 DVDS?? *She got lazy at 6 and didn't scan the other 2. It's only 2 left. Just scan the rest. Lazy much? Yup indeed very lazy. That confrontation wasted 10 mins of our time while it could have been cut down to 5 mins if she was not freaking lazy. The ladies need more training in not just customer service but how to use the machines. And get rid of the attitude It gives you guys a bad rep. read more

The pharmacy is great. The photo department is TERRIBLE. You upload photos through the app, they look great then you pick them up and 1/2 the heads are cut off. You bring them back and Arvind says, "it's your fault". Then the manager comes over and says, we can fix this and Arvind later says, "that's too much work, you have to do each one individually" - 20 minutes later, you leave without photos and a refund. To make matters worse, I had ordered additional photos through the online tool that were supposed to be ready. The photo team says they don't have the order. I ask them to look up my account and they couldn't be bothered. Basically, the photo team is incompetent and had really low customer service standards. read more

I was in the store 5/2/12 in San Mateo and watched an Assistant Manager being rude to a cashier lady. She really talked nasty to her and I feel that this is totally unnecessary and also looks bad for business. The location is so convenient but the pharmacy is so slow I can't deal with it any more. Every time I come here I wait in line forever -- inside or drive through, both take absolutely forever. I just sat in the drive though lane for 27 minutes. Never again. They are either unforgivingly inefficient or terribly under staffed. After waiting, went into the store only to see a line of about 10 customers waiting to pick up their prescriptions! So I went back to the drive-thru, which has a line of 3 cars now. Have been at Walgreens for 30 minutes now and still don't have my prescription. If you think drive-thru equals speed, think again when it comes to this store. read more

I give this 3 stars cause overall it's a good place and i get all my medicine from there but the pharmacy takes forever, ny mom had a prescription and I dobt know if its them or the dr but they are not giving her what she needs but for the most part it's good cause it's close by and the picture area is great. Nice place but the pharmacy is ridiculously slow. I left a message 2 days ago, no response. Called twice tonight, sat on hold 30 minutes before I got cut off randomly. And they have one of those jarring hold recordings that pops up every 30 seconds to remind you that you are waiting, so you can't do anything else. read more

This place has been quite convenient for emergencies and quick items (lighters, cigs, lip balm, magazines). They did happen to have the Neutrogena sunblock (UVA/UVB Protection) that I had been hunting for in many places. The prices are, however, a bit higher than other places like Target. Yesica the "beauty specialist" saw me standing next in line as I was waiting for my turn, and she completely ignored me and instead, in spanish, asked the spanish speaking people behind me to come up to her register to check out. I hate this Walgreens they're not courteous they don't tell people that are sitting in line forever that they need to move their car they just allow them to sit there for 20 minutes but then when you're sitting there then they want to tell you you have to move I don't think it's right secondly when you have a prescription and you bring your prescriptions like for instance I brought a prescription to them that had the printed date on it and they filled it the next time I brought them the same prescription and it has the date on it and everything they're going to tell me all the doctor needs to fill in the date fill in the date the date is printed on the prescription twice so it's not like it doesn't have a date on it has a date on it is just not good enough for them so I just had dental work done I'm sitting there in pain they didn't show like they cared about anything or what not but it's cool I really don't like this Walgreens I miss the old Pharmacy staff they were so cool and very courteous the new pharmacist and the new people that work there suck... this is by far the worst Walgreens I've ever been to at the pharmacy read more

Horrible customer service encountered the other day I came. Came in here to scan pictures that I needed copies of for an event and to buy 2Liters Diet 7up, and they were out on the shelf. A manager walked by and I asked if he could check in the back if they had more. He said "No more." without even checking. There is only space for a few on the shelf so I thought maybe someone bought em and he was being lazy. Another manager walks by (his name is william or wilson?) and I asked if he could check. He walks away for a moment and brings back more. WOW some lazy a** people. Not gonna bother with the same lazy manager at photo so i asked the manager from earlier that helped me to show me how to scan my pictures. Despite being called left and right, he was very polite and helped me but the scanner was super slow. The checkout is also very slow and the cashiers have no expression at all. Overall it's bad and this store deserves 1 star, but I'll give 2 just for the manager that assisted me. the only one that seems to be good. read more

This location is within walking distance from my apt which is good because the parking lot is busy and finding a spot can be difficult. Their inventory is good for the most part, I can usually find the brands and sizes I need. Their food selection is pretty good, the only item I was looking for yesterday and couldn't find was can garbanzo beans. None of the employees offer to help if they are in your aisle and see you struggling to reach an item. All of the cashiers are indifferent to rude. I bought a lot yesterday because I needed Walgreen's to be my last stop of the day. I brought a huge canvas zippered bag along to tote everything home in. After I paid I struggled for almost 10 minutes to get everything in my bad (arthritis & pain hinder me). Two cashiers watched me struggle, did nothing to help and walked away. I'm rethinking shopping here anymore even though it means driving elsewhere. read more

I would give them no stars if I could. Completely screwed up my prescription by filling it wrong because they assumed I wanted a certain formulation I had before but my doctor changed it. I had to point out the mistake and the pharmacist say "well I assumed you wanted ER since thats what you've had in the past" It was for IR, the dummy. Try reading the script. Then she claims to have called around to other pharmacies in Burlingame and after waiting over 15 minutes while watching her fill other prescriptions I asked if the calls had been made and she said yeah, none of have it. I demanded the script back and came home very upset. My husband ended up calling the one on Broadway (one that supposedly did not have it) and lo and behold! they had it. So not only did the pharmacist not bother reading the scrip correctly, she LIED about the other pharmacy not having it. This is not the first time they have screwed up or made "ethical decisions" about my medication. Filed a complaint with corporate, that will be my second complaint in a year. Stay away if you want your meds right and a caring pharmacy! read more
