Warner the manager should be fired. I had to add $1.25 to my Translink (now called Clipper) transportation card. Warner, who is the store manager today, told me that Walgreen's could not add value to a Translink card, only to a Clipper card. I told him that was ridiculous, SINCE THEY ARE THE SAME THING JUST WITH DIFFERENT NAMES. He held his ground, firmly, ignorantly. I called Translink aka Clipper customer service. They backed me up. Warner told me he could give me a Clipper card to add the $1.25 to but could not add value to the Translink. I told him that did not make sense. The discussion became more heated when I asked Warner for his name since his name tag said Kristine. I confirmed that he was the manager. I started to walk out, noticed an assistant manager and asked about adding $1.25 to my Translink card. She confirmed that they could not add value to a Translink card only to a Clipper card. I told her that was ridiculous, and that I had just been told by customer service as such. So I got a Clipper Card for $1.25 and was told I needed to call Translink customer service back to have the balance (my monthly CalTrain pass) transferred to my new card. Here's the bottom line: Warner was rude, condescending, and lacking in basic customer service and management skills. He should be fired. The employees have been given bad and incomplete information about the commuter card. If there is ever any question about adding value to a card, Walgreen's employees have their own special help desk to assist them with a transaction. How do I know this and not Walgreen's? Because I picked up the phone again to Translink customer service to complain about the lack of education and discuss transfer & payment options. The Walgreen's employees were completely wrong. I actually had items to purchase from Walgreen's. But Warner's attitude just changed all that. I'll be taking ALL of my dollars to the CVS forever more. WARNER, kharma is a bitch. Its purely laziness that I get my prescriptions filled here; I'm more of a "Long's" person (though they're not particularly great either, its just what I grew up with)....I came here in a rush when I first moved here and have never bothered moving my prescriptions. The pharmacy staff is hit or miss; the women seem ok but there's a man in there sometimes who is so rude its almost funny. Almost. But, you can call (or email) your prescriptions in and just pick them up. Overall, Walgreen's is just...."weird" to me, sort of icky. That weird smell reminds me of Woolworth's or Sears back in the 70s when they sold popcorn. I can't put my finger on it, its just a weird, cheap atmosphere. Even the signage looks dated and ugly. To top it off, the parking lot is horrible. You can't just paint lines in a lot and expect the flow to work, there's got to be some sort of science behind it, right? The spots are narrow, you always have to go back and forth to get in -- and out -- I park in the empty, far part of the lot and just walk over. I came here to get my passport photo taken. There was a girl at the register who helped me immediately when I walked in & paged for someone to help me at the photo desk. Within a few minutes another girl came over to help me. She was incredibly nice & friendly, I believe her name was Thea. She took my photo but then asked me if it was for a standard passport & informed me of how to correctly smile for the photo to be approved. Thea asked me at least ten times if I was happy with the photo & had it printed & cut within five minutes. I am so happy with how speedy & efficient the process was. Also the photo was a great price, only $12.99 for 2 (although I don't know how much it is elsewhere.) I was in & out in less than 20 minutes. read more

I went into this Walgreens a week ago and spoke to a employee about ordering a case of an intimate product. The employee told me he would order the item and would call me when it arrived. I went into the store today and the same employee told me he was sorry but the item did not get ordered. I will not shop there again. I believe that I should have been called and informed that there was a problem. I was not and that is what is so annoying. I was shown that my importance as a customer was of no consequence. read more

Pharmacist very kind and helpful. Store bright and clean. Cons: Shopping cart wheels locked up before I got all the way to my car at the end of their lot! I should be able to use they cart anywhere I park in their own lot! There were many spaces farther away than mine. Those people wouldn't be able to use a cart either. I also tried using a coupon I picked up that day INSIDE their store. It wouldn't ring up even though I bought thd correct product. Manager didn't feel like coming over to help. Clerk told me coupon was invalid and refuse to honor it. I took very same coupon to Lucky and it rang up just fine. read more

Everyone here seems to move so slowly. Service is always nice but man, it takes so long just to pick up a photo order.

Love Walgreens, but this location, the cashiers' aren't trained as well as the Downtown San Mateo location. I've always had problems at this one unless there's a particular cashier that understands my love for Qpons. Yes, I use Qpons and carry an expensive purse. No, I'm not stealing, you get reimbursed for the full face value of the Qpon plus 8 cents or whatever it is... If I were to be stealing, I would stuff everythng into my ginormous purse and book it. Duh. Would love to love this Walgreens cuz the parking is so much easier, but they need to train their cashiers better. read more

Sarina was extremely helpful to me today. I was at the photo counter attempting to print out some photos from the computer and she saw that I was having trouble with the cable. She came to help me without my having to ask. Then my prints weren't going to be ready for another half hour or so and I just expected to come back later in the day but she offered to print them for me right away. I was having an exasperating morning and her thoughtfulness made a difference for me! read more

Came here for some razors and batteries. A lady Alma helped me find what I was looking for. Later, she was working at the cash register and helped me with coupons and I saved a little money. This store has nice people. I will be back! read more

Waiting in line at 6:30 am in the morning for Pharmacy pick for over 30 min. Only one person in front. Had to leave due to other commitments. Service can definitely be improved at this store. Send your prescriptions to other pharmacies as they have much better service. read more

Even though I primarily go to CVS, I use this location for prescription eye drops as there is a Walgreens in my doctor's building (see my review) and I transfer them to this location once I am know my prescriptions are permanent and I will still use the location in SF. As with the one in the city, this one is every bit as good with friendly pharmacists and cashiers alike; definitely a good size location at that with everything you are looking for.
