If I could leave 0 stars I would this pharmacy is that bad! They repeatedly failed to fill my prescription when I would call hours ahead of time. Do not come here if you have to take important medication because they will run out and refuse to tell you until last minute making you scramble to find a pharmacy that can actually fill it. I am flagging this pharmacy speaking as a physician. I'm a local doctor. The staff at this pharmacy do not read the instructions I send them. They are not cautious and they appear to be deliberately not allowing people to use GoodRx coupons and lying to them and ignoring my comments on the prescription. I sent that this is a "patient pay do not bill insurance situation" The chain pharmacies are ripping off the consumers as a group. But this particular pharmacy has shown themselves to be incompetent on multiple occasions and I recommend you find yourself another place to get your prescriptions. read more

Went there to purchase 100 insulin pen needles, not syringes. I have the insulin pen and just needed the tips. They would not sell them to me and I was advised I had to buy a Sharp container, which they did not have at that time. I already had the container which would hold at least 500 tips. Why would I have to get a new plastic container every time I need the tips??? Will never get a script there ever again not shop there. read more

Their computers are slow and they stare at the screen forever before they tell you to come back tomorrow 4 days in row. Walgreens Pharmacy on Soquel Ave is disappointing. My friend and I went there this afternoon to make an appointment for Covid and flu shots. The fellow who took our information misspelled my name and put down the wrong birthdate. We were told to return about 2 hours later. When we returned, the female worker in the pharmacy took forever to set up our profiles in the computer. We showed her our Medicare cards and other info, but still had to wait half an hour past our appointment times. Finally, as our legs and backs hurt us (we are seniors), we told her to forget the whole thing, and we left. Very disappointing and a big waste of time. We won't be back to that pharmacy. read more

I have never been to this Walgreens and been able to pick up my prescription on the first trip. It usually takes 2 trips sometimes 3 and this last time they only provided me with 1/2 of what the Dr prescribed. Oh, and for the record it was the medication for my granddaughters breathing treatments. I got the new inhaler but not the medicine for her nebulizer. I hear Walgreens doesn't pay there pharmacists and techs very well so I guess we get what they pay for. I guess that is how important the customers are to Walgreens. If half a star was possible, or even a quarter, I would choose that option. This Walgreens pharmacy is the WORST pharmacy I have ever been too. Unfortunately it is the pharmacy closest to my work and would be convenient if they ever had medicine stocked or prescriptions filled on time. Every time I come here, they are either out of stock or I wait around for 30 plus minutes in line, just so they can tell me I need to wait 20 minutes for my prescription to be filled, when my doctor put the request in 24 hours earlier. Then they tell you that once it's ready you have to wait in line again to pick up your prescriptions. I hate this place! They impede on people's ability to manage their medications. I'll try this pharmacy again because there is a medication that I need that only they have because everyone else is so out of them. I was on hold yesterday for half an hour one time half an hour another time and 20 minutes and each time someone said, I'll be right with you blah blah and actually talk to someone put me on hold and then after 10 minutes they would hang it hung up on me And actually they hung up on me three times and it was an actual person that I talk to you and put me on hold for 10 minutes and then it just hung up. Like I've said, I have been a customer service for over 30 years and you never ever has even as a human. You do not treat them this way I am appalled at these people and think they all need to get a new job and be written up continuously until they d get a new job. He's always very professional, offers excellent customer service regardless of the situation and does it with a listening ear and a smile on his face. I cannot shake myself free of this business. My new pharmacy had no issue in filling the prescriptions that Walgreens would not. However, they have been trying for days to transfer over all prescriptions and finally called me today and said they have had two stretches of over one hour each on two different days attempting to call and having nobody answer the phone. I advised I would have my PCP call in new prescriptions for all Walgreens had been filling. Major HIPAA VIOLATIONS HERE in the pharmacy! First off, other patients can hear what they (pharmacy clerks) are saying and what you are saying too (name, DOB, RX name, etc) NO PRIVACY HERE!!! Secondly, when the cash register person was speaking to me he practically yelled out loud that my medication is not ready and cannot tell me when it's ready because of laws... which is fine, however he yelled out the name of my medication while the other customer was staring at us listening to everything!!!! Their customer service and management need real improvement. Not only did they not give me my allegra which is the only reason I went in there. But a simple return with a receipt turned into me demanding to speak to the manager. Total incompetence on the part of the cashier. Dulce is the cashiers name. These people working in this wallgreens Soquel pharmacy were very very very rude, bad attitudes, unfriendly.. it happend to me 5 times already, i just wish wallgreens screen their worker..because people who were picking up their medicine are sick people they should be nice to them and not rude .. 1: if you call them to ask something regarding medicine, they will hang up and when they come back they will turn off the phone i called 6 times and they hang up the phone aix times.. 2: the pharmacist girl the one with a long hair, skinny an asian girl looking ohhh girl she is ao rude face to face really bad atitude. I was asking some medicine to the pharmacy assistant and she told the pharmacy assistant to never mind you dont need to answer her question... right on my face... 3: i was picking up some medicin for two different names and i told him Picking up for this name and this name , and he said donygive names at the same time ok , then after one month im picking up again i told him one name then his finish he gave me the first medicine for the first name and i said one more name for pick up and he said next time give me the other name right away.. And there's many many more rudeness in this pharmacy people in this wallgreens.. the only nicest worker here is ( Juan ) very nice guy he used to work at wallgreens front street, Santa Cruz. It's relatively clean, decently stocked, and parking is fairly easy. I find myself here more than I want to be. It always takes forever to check out. Last time I went their POS froze. I probably spend more time in line checking out than in store. read more

First the pharmacist's assistant lied and said they didn't receive it. Then, when I had the urgent care call it in, he claimed it was on voicemail when the pharmacist was on the phone with them. Then he claimed they couldn't access the timed safe and lied about how long the safe took to operate. He also lied and said they couldn't transfer the prescription to another location. I was there 15 min ahead of time - they have very short staff. i waited in one line to be told to go into another line - then the lady left me at the counter waiting and did not come back I finally went to next window Then I needed to redo paperwork even though I filled out on line -had to give them all cards AGAIN - - CRAZY Then I got my booster. by a cerk I think. ??? he was nice at least. It has taken 9 days to get a refill on an everyday, normal prescription. Every time I tried to check on the status of my request online, there were no updates for over a week then after I called the pharmacy to inquire about it, I was told it would be ready in an hour. When I went to pick it up, I was informed that the order had been canceled. This is after I had already paid for it. This is the fourth time within the last couple of months I haven't been able to find out if a prescription is ready or if it is even being processed. When I arrive at the pharmacy window, I have been ignored by the staff for close to 10 minutes when they can clearly see me and are within only a few feet of me. The service at Walgreens pharmacy has been falling off for years. Now it has reached all-time lows. It is absolutely unacceptable by any standard. After 25 years of being a loyal Walgreens customer, I finally had enough of their lack of reliability; their back-ordered vital prescriptions; their lines inside and the drive-thru; their lack of accessibility via phone; their schizophrenic app, etc. It took me so long to switch because I was afraid of not being able to get my medication ; but, the transition was seamless! I switched to Alto pharmacy. They're an online pharmacy based in San Jose. My meds are delivered to my door free of charge! The app is smart and user-friendly. They pick up the phone! And, they include a delicious piece of salted caramel in each delivery!! Omg, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Never will I wait in a line at Walgreens again! My husband's prescriptions got automatically sent to this pharmacy when Dominican Plaza closed. I called them to check on the status of 2 medications. The phone took forever. There were 3 callers ahead of me. I waited 30 minutes. When a person finally answered, he said hello, then hung up. I called back. There were 2 callers ahead of me. When I finally got a person, he put me on hold! The phone rang until we were disconnected. I switched from Dominican Plaza to Horsynders Pharmacy, 2 months ago. They're great! I don't come to this Walgreens because I heard it's not a great location in Santa Cruz and CVS is better. I scheduled a Covid booster shot appointment online the evening before thanksgiving. I show up and they said the pharmacy closed early all of a sudden. No call or nothing for me. If you're closing early for thanksgiving or for whatever reason either don't have appointments available online or give a courtesy call. What was the reason for this I wonder. I planned work around this, but I guess it's just a commonplace thing now where it's not important. This is the worst pharmacy. They rarely have the prescription ready. If there are 2 cars in front of the drive thru window, you are looking at 20 minutes. When I call the pharmacy for the status, they kept picking up the phone, then put me back on hold. After about 5 times, I'm getting annoyed at this point. Wow, someone picked up the phone. I get this man who says, "can you hold please?" Then he puts me on hold. He picked up and said the same thing, 3 times. At this time, it's been 25 minutes on hold. If you have time to waste, this is place for you. If you like to stand in long lines or short and very slow service lines, this is definitely bad, bad, bad. One added note. They are CLOSED SATURDAY AND SUNDAY'S. The next worse is CVS on Mission St. read more

Don't come here for COVID tests, they send to TN and you wont get your results for three days. This doesn't allow for someone to get Paxlovid in time. You can purchase a rapid test but you would get better results at a county or healthcare provider with or without insurance. read more

I scheduled a covid vaccine at Walgreen's Soquel Ave, SC because I hadn't had one this year. My doctor had been reminding me to get an updated vaccine for this year. I walked in for my appointment and they asked when my last vaccine was. I said 10/31/23 which was a mistake on my part. They said the last record they had in their records for my covid shot was 10/31/22. I told them that whatever they had on file was correct because I only go to Walgreens for my vaccines. Then the guy says, "you can't have had the vaccine within the last two or three months." I said I had not. They asked me if I was sure I didn't get a shot somewhere else and I said I did not. Then they said they didn't want to give me a shot because the current version came out August 2023. Then he says I told him I got a shot in August which was not true. I never once said August. I told them I had not had the Covid shot this year. Then they told me to go to Google and look up my vaccination records. By then the pharmacy line was getting longer and everyone was staring at me like I was crazy so I just left and said forget it. Got home Googled my records and what they had on file was correct as i advised them. I have never been more embarrassed. What should have been an easy transaction became confusing and misleading which is concerning given they are a pharmacy. read more

The manager came up to me and my legitimate service dog giving me a whole lecture on what the ADA allows.... saying "as a store carrying food we don't allow emotional support dogs....blah blah blah". He did NOT ask the correct questions required by the ADA! He just lectured me. My dog is best in stores... she is by my side and works ignoring people and other distractions. Word of advise Walgreens.... if a dog is doing it's job per the ADA do NOT approach!! I suffer from extreme PTSD and this manager triggered me severely! I will be calling corporate! Pharmacist review~there has been changes to pharmacists recently & my experience hasn't been good. I'd love to mention a name specifically since it's one pharmacist but not sure if I can. I have made two complaints to corporate (one being a follow up). It's a long story of back & forth so I'll summarize as best I can. One Friday noonish, I went to pick up my prescription. That particular pharmacist said he was 'reviewing your history' & 'doesn't appear the medication was working for you'. He fax'd Dr needing more info. As I walked away, I starting wondering what did that all mean & that seemed inappropriate of him. I went back to Walgreens but he was gone, I spoke to the other pharmacist on duty, asking him if that was standard to determine meds working or not working? He said no but was pretty neutral. I called Walgreen's Corporate to make a complaint. The woman agreed, inappropriate. I received a call from store manager regarding policies. I still wasn't completely comfortable with all policies. I received a call from my Dr's office saying they apologize for the delay, they had never received this kind of request before & I expressed my concerns with his behavior too. When I went to pick my prescription up, this man, yelled my last name out from behind the pharmacy to get my attention pointing to the consult window. Not very nice!!! He proceeded to aske me questions like: 1. When is your surgery? 2. Will you be on this medication until then? I'll make notes in my computer. I told him what my Dr's office said, he replied with laughter & delight on his face 'there will be many more to come'! Wow! I left in tears. When Rite Aid on Soquel closed, I asked for prescriptions to be sent to Walgreens. Walgreens apparently doesn't deal with my insurance. So they needed to call CVS and transfer the prescription. 3 times I drove back and forth from Walgreens to CVS to get a medication I need for my blood pressure.
