Been frequenting this Walgreens since moving to the area. Each time the staff were friendly and helpful, simple as that. First visit I ordered online for pickup which was smooth. Go in, tell them your name and order number, boom. The attendant handed me my bag. Second visit I wanted to get a passport photo. No appointment needed, you can walk in and it takes about 5 minutes. Luckily when I went it was slow, so consider that if you decide to come here for that. It's $17 for two. My only issue here, like so many convenience stores these days it's usually only one cashier. Fine, except when there is a small surge of people and suddenly the line is 5 people deep, it would be nice if another worker could come and handle some people just to move things a bit. That aside it's still convenient and already this Walgreens has served me for the short time in this neighborhood. read more

I rarely feel compelled to write a negative review. And I've noticed that this establishment has gotten a lot of bad reviews. I hate to pile on. But I can't let this pass. Preliminarily, I note that the problems here are likely due to the choices of corporate/management, trying to squeeze as much profit as possible out of this unit. As a result, the service at the pharmacy is awful. First, they are chronically behind - long lines. Second, one of the pharmacists ("John" - middle-aged Caucasian gentleman with salt and pepper hair) is incredibly rude. Third, on the day in question, anyone could reach in and grab one of the meds (or more) on the counter. Anyone could also read the names of the patients and their meds on the containers. Incredibly sloppy. I should have taken a photo. Happy to sign a statement under oath. Truly a nightmare. read more

There used to be friendly staff, but there is a ginger looking guy who is really rude to costumers, I have prohibited my kids from going to Walgreens because this man thinks all kids steal and treats them very rude. And I personally have had issues with this guy. And I have also observed him talking rudely to other costumers. In my opinion, he'd be fired a while ago. Wife and I had appointments for the Moderna vaccine. We were 6+ months from our previous one and due for the booster. The pharmacist, John, was so incredibly rude to me. He literally ripped up our appointment cards saying, "The CDC only recommends yearly vaccinations now." I said, "No, the CDC is full of shit. Science says efficacy wanes after 2-4 months with mRNA." Him "I trust the government." and then I said "That's why you're wearing a surgical mask right now." Then he said "And in 30 days I won't be wearing one at all!" This grey-haired jackass seemed to really delight in denying us. I guess he was probably a bully who peaked in high school, and now this is the only way he can feel good about himself. If I could give this Walgreens a -100 I would because there is no way that this place has the most terrible customer service that I've ever experienced in my life and to add insult to injury this is the one place that most of us come to for our medicine and the pharmacy and the pharmacist and the technicians are insensitive, lack communication, skills and empathy and are no service to the community. either this service is not taking seriously or they just don't care. You will be waiting on hold for almost 2 hours to be told we may or may not fill your prescription is insane. read more

What is the official Walgreens policy regarding age restricted items? I ask because I'm 35 and my husband is 59. We've been shopping at our Wallingford Walgreens for 7 years. My husband drinks; I do not. However, whenever either of us has made an age restricted purchase, one of us provides an ID. Today, my husband and I went to Walgreens bought alcohol and a soft drink. The cashier checked my husband's id, then asks for mine. In 7 years I've never had us both be required to show ID, and as far as I know, the POS system requires one ID to be scanned. I asked the cashier what he does when parents come in. He said, well if he's your father, then it's okay. I hope the grey area is apparent at this point. So, is Walgreens required to ask familial relations now? read more

They can't even fill prescriptions until you run out for weeks, they constantly put a hold on the med when they're out and you have to physically go in to unstick it. I switched pharmacies and walgreens went and called my doctor to get refills while I was out of town, then wouldn't transfer the prescriptions to my new pharmacy when the new pharmacy faxed them the request. read more

Walgreens denies COVID testing unless you are in a car. This flagrantly discriminates against the many disabled, low-income, essential workers, and others who must use public transportation or walk. They had already lost my prescription, restocked it and not told me. I had them fill it again. Came back the next day and they informed me it was filled but not in this state. I called a few minutes after 10am and was waiting for the pharmacy to pick up. The message keep stating there were two callers ahead of me. I was on hold for 35 minutes. I called the store on another phone to find out if there was a problem with the phone. They informed me that the pharmacist could not make it in today and so they closed the pharmacy. I plan on changing my pharmacy to Costco as soon as I am allowed. The general staff in this store are overall helpful and friendly so I gave them 3 stars instead of 1. read more

It has gone way downhill. I got a lecture from the 18 yr old when I asked about the big FREE FLU SHOTS sign.. because well, ha ha ha they aren't free. You are supposed to read the FINE little teeny tiny print that they are free if you have certain insurances. I bought an oscillating fan from this location and all I can say is I could not be more pleased with this product! It has ran perfectly for five years straight now, and when I say five years straight, I mean continuously without ever have been turned off (Even while in vacation). Even though their pharmacy is open until 7, they stop offering flu shots at 5. They turned me away at 6:15, even though it was 45 minutes until closing. Annoying. I called my local Safeway (on Roosevelt and 74th) and their pharmacy is open until 9. They said as long as I arrive by 8:30 (30 minutes before closing), they'll give me a flu shot. read more

Zero stars for the female manager, who was smoking by the building (how professional), yelled at me for parking in the *many* vacant parking spots since my the single spot reserved for my acupuncture appointment was already taken. I have always gone into Walgreens and spent $75 - $100 after each of my appointments, not just because of the convenience, but because I didn't realize the manager was a terrible, rude, petty woman. If you ever need to see the futility of human life playing in an endless, music-less, multi-scene loop, drop by any one of your neighborhood Walgreens, pull up one of their hideous plastic garden chairs and grab a Buddha-sized bottle of your favorite drink (hard booze is behind the cash register, however), and plop yourself down by the lineup at the cash register. You won't be disappointed. What can I say? Shopping at this Walgreens is only marginally better than waiting in line at a soup kitchen, because you have to. Although this location is new, well-stocked and closest to my home, I often go to the Bartells down the street, because I forget the Walgreens is even here (it's my mind selectively blocking out the negative). The issue here is service, or the lack thereof. During the few times I've been (at lunch, early morning, weekend afternoon), there's always only one person at the cash register, ringing up the goods with the speed of a geriatric with arthritis in all fingers, whose misplaced his glasses. (Actually, the glasses are on a rope around the geratric's neck, but he doesn't notice.) It's good that the hard booze is behind the counter, because after waiting in line and witnessing all of this at the cash, you'll need a stiff drink. In that case, I'd recommend the QFC down the street, which might have better prices. read more

I had my passport picture taken here and it looks awful and dark. Once printed on your passport, the picture looks even darker. I have brown hair but it looks black on the passport. The picture could have used much better lighting at the store but the Walgreens employee made it clear he was busy so I didn't ask for edits The Walgreens employee also told me I couldn't smile but the passport agency representatives said that would have been fine :( read more

I work at a veterinary hospital, so I frequently call meds in to Walgreens. This was by far the rudest, most condescending pharmacist I have ever spoken to. Pet meds and human meds are prescribed differently. The max dose for humans is not the same as it is for pets, regardless if "most humans are bigger than dogs" (his exact words). My doctors went to school for this, you didn't. My doctors have been prescribing meds for years and know what they're doing. The prescribed dose was definitely not a "typo" (again, his exact wording) I seriously have never had a pharmacist be so snippy with me. If you aren't trained in veterinary medicine, don't tell me my doctors, that have been doing this forever, are wrong. I wish he had told me his name. SO unprofessional. It may not mean much to a huge company like Walgreens, but I for one will never set foot in this particular store based on this interaction. read more

This is the closest location to my house, and it's relatively new compared to other locations in the city. It's clean and pretty small. The staff is helpful is sought out, although don't seem to go above and beyond. I feel bad for them with all of the stupid lines Walgreens makes them say, and the counter items they make them upsell. The staff is very friendly, I am seeing complaints about the pharmacist but I have never had a bad encounter with him. I got a Walgreens card because i come here so much and it helps me save some money here and there! I come in here during my lunch hour because it's pretty close by where I work plus they have parking. I usually get good customer service here but the last time I was here I was pretty shock. I went and did my normal shopping and was getting ready to pay. The male cashier had no one in line and he did not look busy at all. I started emptying my basket and he paused and asked me if I can go to the other register. I was OK with it even though it was on the other side of the store but then another customer showed up and he started ringing her up! I thought that was rude of him. Worst pharmacy experience we've ever had. If only the pharmacist took as much care with sick people as he does with his highlights, things would be oh so much better. Here's a tip, rude, obnoxious pharmacy guy - sick people already feel like absolute hell. For you to be snappy, inattentive and downright mean serves no purpose. He wouldn't even let my husband get two words out before he cut him off. This happened repeatedly. He even raised his voice. The woman behind us gave me a shocked and sympathetic look. You know the look. The pharmacist clearly does not know this look. I recommend folks in Wallingford go somewhere else, turn to homeopathy, or perhaps even consider becoming Christian Scientist to avoid getting medicine from this guy. read more

Convenient location, just down the road from my house. I usually walk over but they do have a parking lot just off of Stone Way. Pharmacy is open till 9pm which is nice and I've always had pleasant experiences with the staff. Walgreens does have most of what you need, particularly when you need it right now. But, customer service is relatively poor. I've had this experience at most Walgreens stores, but cashiers are empowered to do very little. At this particular store, the upselling of impulse buy items at the register cam be pretty pushy. Returns and exchanges of any item are extremely difficult and viewed with extreme suspicion. There's a Bartell's just up the street with better service and a similar selection. Do yourself a favor and shop there instead--and support a local company. read more
