I haven't been to this Walgreens in a very long time. After searching for a Santa Claus to put under my tree, I couldn't find it anywhere that I went to. I thought maybe Walgreens might have it. Walked in yesterday, and no greeting until I approached the gentlemen in the photo area, and he said whatever that they had was in that section. Small selection in their Christmas decorations/ornaments isle. Couldn't find any type of Santa Claus. I guess Santa is still stuck in the North Pole. They were about to close, so I browsed the isles to see if I could find anything else. I got 2 beautiful, festive, Christmas oval shaped paper plates that came in count of 8 in each pack. Was on sale for $2.39 for each pack. Original price was $4.78. So I grabbed them. Also, got 2 Twix candy bars. Was also on sale; 2 for $2.50. Opened one and inhaled it w/out chewing first:-)) not joking! Employees were tired, I guess it was the end of their day, and they were in a hurry to go home. Raven was my cashier, rang me up, and I was the last customer to leave the store. They close at 10pm. Store was clean, except the bathroom. Toilet was not flushed, small little toilet papers were here and there, and the trash was pretty full. All of the isles were nicely stocked, items facing us, and a lot of sale items for the Holidays. It's a very nice standard Walgreens. Clean, easy to navigate, okay size isles and solid pharmacy. I never realized the snacks and beverages here were so limited and I've been stopping in sporadically for years. There were so many popular brands and items I didn't see... Where are the peanut butter pretzels??? Completely out... The struggle (of first world problems)! Love the customer service. Easy parking and along the L.A. Metro path with stops on just about every corner at the intersection of Vineland Avenue/Ventura Blvd. Also a nice stroll to from the Universal City/Studio City Station hub. Parking lot is in the back off Ventura, just before Fruitland Drive. You can find most essential here. Very ideal for Studio City residents and SFV locals or passers by. Stay away from this store, because they clearly don't want you to buy anything. At least 3/4 of the products are locked away and require an employee to retrieve them for you. I had to wait five minutes for an employee to unlock a $4 item for me, all the while hearing, "Help needed in [every department]" announced over the store speakers." I have been a Walgreens customer for years and never had serious issues until I started using this location. This pharmacy has been consistently unreliable and has created problems that directly affect my health. After moving from the OC to the SFV, I chose this Walgreens because it is the closest major pharmacy to my home. I have two prescriptions, and almost every single time, they are "not in stock." Worse, they dispensed one of my medications incorrectly, giving me two 50 mg pills daily instead of one 100 mg, and then billed my insurance as though it was correct. Because of their mistake, I am now missing a refill and have to go back to my doctor for a new prescription. I am currently without the necessary medication because of this location's incompetence. This is not an isolated issue. Other Yelp reviewers have reported similar problems. Even the Arleta Walgreens, where this location sent me because of their stock issues, could not fill the prescription because of the error made here. Their staff made it clear they were unhappy with the mess they had to deal with. If you care about accuracy, reliability, or basic competence, do not trust this pharmacy with your medications. Pharmacy Manager 'Tanya' and Pharmacy Staffer Alex both showed patience- kindness & resourcefulness in helping me secure a Necessary refill of a hard-to-source medication...Tanya had a 'hunch' of an Inventory Issue with their computers, and -- heading to the Specialty Storage area -- came back with the correct med in EXACTLY the dosage required ! Went in for my covid vaccine. Had to wait for about 30 minutes. Someone came out and took me to get my shot. She never smiled or said hello. She seemed unhappy. She quickly gave me the shot and then went to open the door for me to leave. I hardly had time to put my sweater back on! **Here is the big mistake** After a covid vaccine, you're supposed to wait for 15-20 minutes under observation, to see if you have any allergic reactions. The girl left, never asked me to wait, and no one was there to "observe" if I had a bad reaction.. I just left. I guess I'll report it to a health department. It's negligent. read more

This is only for the pharmacy -- Usually, every cashier or retail worker has been so helpful and kind. I don't know what's been going on lately with this pharmacy, but my medications are never ready. I have to constantly call the store about my medications when I put them to pick up on my app. The pharmacy tech tonight told me to call a week in advance to make sure my medications are ready in time?? I've been going to Walgreens for years for my medications and I've never been told that. I put it through on my app, I get automated calls/texts that it's ready, and I come in and pick them up easily. I've never had this issue at any other pharmacy either. So I'm not sure what this random excuse is? One of my other medications has bot been available for months and I keep checking and nothing. Also, keep in mind that I need these medications for a reason. Without them, I feel horrible and will definitely get sick. At other locations, I've been able to have loaners until my next refill. Instead, I have to wait a couple of days until my refill is ready. Which is honestly the first time I've had to experience this. I do everything I can to make sure I don't get my meds too late. This is extremely frustrating. Doesn't help either that the tech was extremely apathetic and just shrugged her shoulders like, 'oh well.' Again, I'm not sure where the lack of care and attention came from because it's only been an issue for, maybe the last six months?? idk. I'll likely just transfer any other orders to a local pharmacy. just don't waste your time at this pharmacy, they couldn't care less. read more

I submitted a same day photo order, and it was ready early, which I appreciated since it was a gift. What I didn't appreciate was the attitude I received from an employee at the photo desk. She was helping me with my order, and I asked if there was a trash can. I intended to throw my empty water bottle, cup, and old receipt in a public trash can outside on my way in but there wasn't one. She informed me that they didn't have a trash can. She asked if I had food to throw away. I explained that I didn't. I then asked if there bathroom, which I believed was open to customers, had a trash can. She rolled her eyes, started to walk off, saying she will unlock it for me. No thank you or your funky attitude. It was a question. If the trash can in the restroom couldn't handle a water bottle and a cup then fine. It didn't hurt to ask. But there was no need to be rude. At all. read more

I want to be clear that this is a commentary on all Walgreens, not just this location. Management is just awful, and not consumer oriented in the least. They couldn't care less how much they inconvenience you. If your doctor calls in three prescriptions, you can almost be guaranteed that one of them will be out of stock. Because we all love having to go to their crappy stores TWICE to get our meds, and endure whatever pain or symptoms we are having for an extra day or two. No big deal, right? And wouldn't you think it would be an easy thing to just have them transfer the prescriptions to a neighboring Walgreens that actually has the medication in stock? Oh no, that burden is on you, the customer. They want YOU to cold call all of the nearby Walgreens, navigate the useless and frustrating AI voice prompts to speak to a pharmacist, find out if they carry the medication and it is in stock, and then ask them to have it transferred. Oh, and on top of that, they don't care about their customers enough to have their pharmacies fully staffed while they are open, because inevitably you will go to pick up a prescription and find out that the entire pharmacy is closed for lunch. Is it really that difficult to stagger lunches so that customers don't show up and waste their time? "Yeah sorry you're suffering but our entire pharmacy department has to eat at the same time so that Walgreens doesn't have to pay us overtime." I really wish mom and pop pharmacies still existed, because these greedy bastards provide nothing and take everything. read more

Just go to CVS across the street. They have stricter hiring standards and their pharmacists know what they are doing. Be careful of the short guy at the pharmacy with covered in gaudy silver 90's jewelry. He is very combative, inexperienced despite saying he has "done this for years" (not the flex he think it is) and lazy. He lied about Goodrx discounts working to avoid the hassle of inputting the information. They changed my prescription without my doctor or my consent to a half size tube, from a 6 month prescription to a 3 month prescription to "cost less" but in reality it was more expensive bc they wouldn't take my Goodrx or take the 30 seconds to even try. They also told me I could not change my prescription to another pharmacy (which I did online from the car). So much for being so experienced. Lol. Shocking they would ever think they know better than my doctor, insurance company and me. For men who are self-proclaimed "so experienced" they don't seem to know the basics of their very simple job. So odd to just lie and think no one would find out. Suggestion: Less thinking you are an expert in anything and more following orders from those who are. read more

Imagine going to the DMV when you are sick! That's what it's like going to so many of the other pharmacies. But not this location. It's never mobbed, and they don't make you wait all day to get your meds. They are a helpful and resourceful (when it comes to helping you with coupons or giving you medication for a few days until they get the rest). I have had a problem with attitude maybe one time, and that's normal, but most of the time everyone's been really nice, and a few have gone beyond the the norm and really nice. It's comforting, especially when you do not feel well. And it's even better when they know you and your family and don't make you explain things too much, but even better, have anticipated your needs and have gone out of their way to make sure everything is sorted. Really, I feel lucky to have this place around even when I compare it to most other Walgreens locations. Because most of them are annoying, I switched from CVS to this place. The blond larger woman who works at the pharmacy regularly snaps on me and my partner and tries to upcharge us and gives us a hard time about our insurance. No other pharmacists at this location do. The men who work there are really nice and we never have issues. The blond woman screams at me like a Karen and gives me insane immediate attitude. I think she discriminates against people genuinely. She needs to be placed somewhere else because it's been a year and she hasn't changed. read more

Mark, a pharmacy tech is one of the worst people to deal with, avoid him like the plague. I had questions for him in the pharmacy and he kept talking over me and try to hang up the phone and when he got frustrated he just put me on hold for 10 minutes and then picked up the phone again and tried to apologize and try to be nice again but I told him that was unprofessional. This Walgreens is absolutely great! It has a lot of space, plenty of selection, and everything is pretty organized and easy to find. A lot of times with drugstores I feel that it can be very difficult to actually locate where anything is, and you spend a lot of time walking around aimlessly wondering what it was you originally came in for. NOT SO with this Walgreens! Everything is easy to find and is usually located in a place that MAKES LOGICAL SENSE!! Take THAT every other drugstore ever! Also, the actual Walgreens staff is exceptionally friendly! The people working the register always have a smile on their faces and seem genuinely happy to be there! There's one gentleman at the front named Mel and Mel is absolutely great! Always has a smile on his face and a minute or two for some generally pleasant chit-chat. The private parking lot is also great! This way you don't have to look for a place to park, or you aren't sharing the parking lot with every other business on the block (I'm talking about you Rite Aid) Now, I do feel that I have to somewhat explain why this Walgreens didn't get 5 stars. And while this location is great, it does have some minor problems. First of all, there's a really weird situation going on with the doors that I don't fully understand. There's a door right on the corner of Ventura and Vineland, which if you're walking up to the store looks like the best entrance, but it's an entrance only, and half of the time it's locked? I guess? So you'll usually have to walk around to the back to get in, which can be a little frustrating. Secondly, the actual pharmacy counter itself can be a bit of a hassle. They're not always very helpful, and a lot of times you actually have to physically go in for them to actually check if they have a prescription in stock. But it all usually works out in the end. Also, they're just not as friendly or helpful as the actual Walgreens staff. So, it probably wouldn't normally be that noticeable but when you have the comparison of the other employees it just makes it that much more apparent. So in summation, this Walgreens is a great location. Highly reccommend! read more

I'd give this specific Walgreens a 5 star due to their extremely pleasant staff. Everyone hired at this location is consistently helpful and genuinely welcoming. The reason I'm giving a 2 star is I've noticed such a high amount of homeless targeting this specific location and I feel like you're wonderful staff aren't given the proper protection. This Walgreens needs a 24hour security guard. In fact, I think it would save you money due to how much I have witnessed being stolen from the location and not to the fault of your staff because they do what they can and are always on top on those scenarios but because the homeless become aggressive, threatening and have even pulled out sharp objects on them they have no option but to back down. This is alarming to witness and not fair. Please give your staff the protection they deserve. They shouldn't have to do that part of the job - professionally trained security should be in place for that. read more

Bad experience over 20 times and also another friend of mine has had the worst experiences ever! He quit going to Walgreens and instead moved everything to CVS! Beware of Walgreens vaccination scheduling system. Made appointments via walgreens.com for the whole family to get flu shots over Labor Day weekend. Got two separate reminders from Walgreens day of - one email, one text. Made sure to get family packed up and there on-time. Only to find the pharmacy closed. The Walgreens manager said, "The online scheduling thing is kind of bogus. Sorry." I think Walgreens is kind of bogus. read more

I first phoned this pharmacy to see if they had the drug I needed in stock. The pharmacist would not help me she just said "we don't check stock on the phone". So I went in here to get the prescription filled for my adult son who's staying with me while he's recovering. The pharmacist would not fill the prescription because she said he had to have it filled near his address which was an hour away. WTF? Made a flu shot appointment online. Drove over only to be told by the behind the counter assistant (Crystal) that they don't have any flu shots left and they are not expecting any! The website should say that, she said unapologetically, but it doesn't. Yes, well the various signs on the building's exterior still offer "walk in" flu shots. Bad customer service. read more
