Nothing really stood out about this location to me. We really just ran in here because one of our kids was looking for something that CVS typically carries. while he was looking I did a casual wander through the store. All the same stuff you'd expect to find at any other CVS. Homegoods, make up, some foods and drinks, pharmacy type stuff, greeting cards, stationary and school type stuff....Like I said the usual. Nothing really wrong with this particular location, just nothing really made it stand out from all of the other CVS stores (and similar type places). Remember, if you're going to shop here, do yourself a favor and become a free rewards member. You get tons of savings, most are through rewards that require that you buy more stuff, but if you're already here and shopping that probably isn't a big deal. read more

An aged white lady by the name of susan over in the pharmacy was very rude and even behaved in a racist and bigoted way towards me all after I asked if I could check out one item since there was a long line in the front. She sized me up and down and said " no..." and that she "has a program she needs to finish" in a totally rude manner. Mind you, it was one item. I emphasized how long the line was and showed her my one item and hoped she could find kindness in her heart to nicely take care of me. Susan huffed and puffed and grabbed my item off the counter very rudely and told me that now she's not going to be able to finish her program. I stood there quietly and watched her have a tantrum. Then she yelled out at me saying, "and we're about to close!" The store closes at 5pm. It was literally 4:35pm. I mean just ridiculous. At least she checked me out. But gee whiz, is this how you treat a good customer??? I don't think so. read more

This CVS pharmacy is the worst I've ever seen. Your health and livelihood hangs in the balance when dealing with this place, especially "James" the "pharmacist" who should have his license revoked. I ended up going to urgent care because of high blood pressure after he refused to simply contact my doctor to fulfill prescription medication which is the pharmacy's obligation. He couldn't take 1min to call and simply fill an order, something that other pharmacists did in the past without hesitation, instead, he said "take your business elsewhere. " This is a travesty that the most vulnerable and ill have to deal with this type of service and lack of professional especially for someone in a healthcare role. I was left without my essential medication leading to further health complications. His manager "Michelle" should read this review and think twice about letting him engage with the public. I will be filing a formal complaint with CVS and the pharmacy board. read more

5-stars for manager, Viviane, for her never-ending commitment to customer service. I'm local and use this CVS daily. I've been helped by this manager at all times of the day - from early morning to late evening - and she is nothing less than 100% dedicated at all times - the corporate area managers should know how totally awesome she is - one of the best retail managers I have encountered (any where, ever). However, this branch gets a 1-star rating for overpricing / mark-ups, which I suspect is due either (i) the high rents of the world-famous tourist hang-out ... or (ii) pure exploitation of the predominantly tourist clientele. (You, the audience, decide). It's no doubt the same reason why that seedy liquor store across the street (triple mark ups) should only be an option if you have an Amex card, a Porsche on the sidewalk, and / or the penthouse suite at the Roosevelt Hotel. All the locals know this CVS is shockingly overpriced, but sometimes you find yourself 'caught between a rock and a hard place', as I did this morning when I was gagging for my favorite coffee at 7am. Before leaving for Los Angeles , my wife ask me if I had packed my phone charger. I had put the charger in the backpack. Oops! Wrong backpack! Desperately searching for a phone charger, my wife and I happen to check CVS along Hollywood Boulevard. They were a life saver! Not only did they carry name brands like Samsung, Apple accessories , they also carried off brands wall chargers and cords at the front checkout counter for a fraction of the cost ! This location is horrible. I needed a prescription refill and put it through the app at the beginning of November (3rd). I didn't hear anything so i put in a request again on the 6th along with my other refills. When i went to pick it up, they did not even process it or go contact my physician for confirmation on the one i needed. I thought i'd be ready and when I went to pick up my other prescriptions, they said "oh looks like it just went in but we're still waiting on confirmation from the doctor." This was a lie as they didn't send it, and I submitted twice. After not hearing anything and starting to feel the withdrawal effects, I direct messaged my GP and they said no one reached out to them, so they put in a refill request on the 10th. In the meantime I tried calling the pharmacy more than a few times at different points, on hold for 30 min each call.... no one picked up. I'm getting more withdrawal symptoms as it's been nearly two weeks. I was told that the prescription would be ready to pick up on the 15th, but no one contacted me. Tried to call the pharmacy again and of course, no pickup after 30 minutes. I get that they're busy, but people need their prescriptions to live. This is the shittiest pharmacy I've ever dealt with. I wonder how many people have actually gotten really sick or died because of their negligence. I ended up calling another CVS in the loop, and of course they picked up and will have the prescription ready for me today. How crazy is that? I used to use the CVS on Damen and Lawrence and they were stellar as well. This one doesn't give a shit. Any other pharmacy but this one as i'm sure they've let one or two patients just kinda die. I get during a pandemic people are understaffed, but it's not like i was expecting an instant response, it's been 15 days without my prescription despite following steps I've taken at literally every other pharmacy. This cvs has possibly the most insufferable pharmacist ever. I couldn't see her name because it was covered up by her coat but she is an Asian lady always in a mask. One of my first encounters with her she complained about patients picking up Covid medication and how they can infect her. I didn't think too much about it but I can see both sides. Most people don't have friends free on a wimp to drop their activities to go pick up medication for you. Then when I got vaccinated by her. I asked her for a mask. She said, "you better wear one" - I already asked for one! Again I didn't think too much about her condescending tone. Another time, I asked her when my insurance allows me to collect the next round of medication. She said the computer won't tell her that. I told her my last pharmacy could tell me the exact date. She got even more condescending in her tone and told me it's in a month. I then said. Are you guessing or is it exactly? Then she said I can come two days before. It's super frustrating talking to her as she herself got more and more frustrated too. There are many more instances but I don't want this to be an essay. I miss the ex pharmacists working there. Guess the only good thing about her is she made me appreciate them more. read more

The lady pharmacist here is extremely rude and unprofessional. I pick up my prescription here and every time I call to refill one, I am placed on hold for 45-1hr wait. She claims there is "one person ahead of you"! AN HOUR WAIT FOR ONE PERSON?! the first time I was annoyed, the second I was irritated and this time, I am extremely upset. I just wanted to check if my doctor had sent it in, and finally when she answered she said I had to call back tomorrow to request a refill, even though the doctor had already approved it! I then asked to speak with a supervisor because of how ridiculous this is and she said that I have to "drop the attitude" or she's not going to help me. I never caught her name but she deserves to be fired. I see all these reviews about how insufferable she is and they are all true. Save your breath and go somewhere else. read more

Worst experience ever!! STORE: 7021 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles CA 90028. Manager Karine was rude and unprofessional and accused us of not paying for our purchase while still inside the store. My Wife, 2 year old Daughter and I entered the store for some snacks and drinks. We waited in line for about 25 minutes at self check out because the customer in front of us machine was requesting a manager and the manager took forever to respond. When it was our turn pay the same thing happened to us. The machine also requested a manager when we were attempting to pay. We moved to the next machine and rang everything up and paid on that machine. When we were standing next to the exit, the manager Karine or Karina finally arrived to fix the machine. She then noticed a transaction still opened on the first register and without even asking us if we had paid for our items she judged us singled us out and asked us to pay for our items. My wife tried to explain the items were already paid for on the 2nd machine but she kept on insisting for us to pay. Things got a little heated up because my wife discarded the receipt in the trash and she made us look for it. I personally had to sift through the trash to find it and trust me I felt embarrassed in front of many people who witnessed the whole incident. While I was doing that the manager printed out a voided receipt of the transaction that was not paid and attempted to give it to my wife so I told my wife not to grab it because we didn't want to get framed for walking out of the store with unpaid items. I wanted to clear everything up and kept looking for our receipt in the trash. After sifting through all trash bins near registers I found the receipt and when I tried showing it to the manager who questioned us she refused to verify it. This made me upset because she caused this whole incident for nothing. You could tell she was acting out of personal feelings and not conducting business appropriately. Take into consideration this is not my store, I shop at CVS all the time 2 blocks away from my House and I have never experienced anything like this. Managers there are respectful and curteous and respond fast to customers or cash registers not working. Managers should not judge customers especially if they respond way after they are needed. This particular manager shouldn't work there. OHH, and when she left one of the cashiers apologized on her behalf and stated: "So sorry about that" THIS CASHIER SHOULD BE THE MANAGER!! read more

Caution. OVERCHARGES!!!! Went to this CVS yesterday to pick up some toiletries for a flight. They had mens razors (ten pack, gillette) ADVERTIZED ON THE SHELF as $19.99. It was under the pack of razors, bright yellow, and had the CVS logo on it. However when I went to pay the counter girl tired to charge me full price (around 25$). So I asked, and she showed me the screen which said they were not on sale. I told her that on the shelf they were marked on sale, and even took her to the shelf to show her. Returning to the cash register I told her because they were marked on sale with the CVS sticker she had to honor that price. The manager was called and even though I had just taken the girl to the shelf to show her the sticker she began her comment to him as "she said they're on sale..." No. I know they're on sale. So honor the friggin price. It was a big deal until the second I mentioned I'd report them for overcharging. Then all it took was two taps of the computer to get the advertized price. Good thing I watch the prices as I am being rung up, but I wonder how many people did not pay attention and have been overcharged for these and other items. Watch carefully!! read more

This is the busiest pharmacy I've been to and perhaps for good reason. This CVS is located on Hollywood Blvd. along the Walk of Fame. Not only does it get a lot of traffic from local residents and workers, but from out-of-town visitors and tourists as well. The store was cluttered and the atmosphere felt hectic. I stopped by here on Monday to grab a bottle of water. A 1-liter Evian was $2.19 plus a 10 cent "bottle deposit" (http://www.cawrecycles.org/issues/bottle_bill/how) due to California's "Bottle Bill." The employee at the register was nice enough to scan a CVS ExtraCare courtesy card for me even though it ultimately did not save me any money. I tried to get my parking validated here since I parked in the adjacent deck. However, I still had to pay for parking because my car was parked in the deck for over an hour. Validation only works on parking tickets that have been obtained for up to one hour. I ended up paying $8 for parking. read more

This CVS does not offer their restrooms for public use. Okay, rules are rules, but a friend of mine urgently needed to go, you would think that they may let this one slide, the employees aren't willing to help, fine, i'll ask the manager, again a no, at this point, i am a little disappointed but i do understand that some strictly adhere to policy. HOWEVER, only moments later, I see a girl ask to use the bathroom and lo' n' behold, the managerial guardian of the bathroom bows down for her... this CVS obviously has poor guidelines around policy, i expect better service from a CVS and I believe my experience reflect's the store's overall attitude and policies which seem to be very lax and non-customer based. read more

I actually didn't mind this CVS. Of course its going to be a little weird since its right in Hollywood but thats exactly why I liked it. Lots of security guards, people looking around each corner to make sure you're not stealing anything, I'm good with that. This place has a good selection of items and I was able to find everything that I needed. Hairspray, bottled water, a notebook and some snacks. I went on a Sunday morning at 7am, there was a woman working there by the name of Karine. She was very nice, greeted everyone with a "good morning" and a smile as they entered the store. She asked me and another person who entered if we needed help finding anything, again overall so nice and professional. I was surprised that this CVS carries Korean skincare products. They have a great selection of American cosmetics too. This location is well-stocked, and clean, in all the aisles. Fast check out too! read more

Kinda of a weird location right on Hollywood Blvd. Free parking in the structure with validation so it's not too bad. There is only one pharmacist that I could see Friday morning and she was busy most of the time on the phone. I was looking for a specific probiotic and the one bottle of tablets they had behind their counter was open?! Eh, just strange. Also whatever they have on sale is usually razed. There was a sale on Herbal Essences shampoo and the section was picked through with one type completely gone, except for one bottle that was 1/3 empty like did it spill?! The rack wasn't sticky, so did someone steal it? But how? Such a mystery is this store. If you shop at CVS a lot it's worth it to sign-up for their CVS card. Coupons! I've gotten free items after some coupons, it's on sale and the coupon covers the sale price. Win! It's not always cheap prices though, usually at Fresh & Easy stuff like Powerade and Monster are cheaper. Another win is that's it's after Easter, so all their themed holiday candy was on sale. I don't care if my M&Ms are pastel colored, they are still M&Ms. So you see this store if best suited for the opportunistic shopper. read more

I needed Duracell batteries, but there were security devices locking everything displayed. A sign advised finding a store associate, so I searched the aisles for an employee. All the aisles. No one. Finally I saw an employee with a customer near the entrance; when they finished, I asked this employee to help me with batteries -- and she just glared at me. A really dirty look. Then she turned on her heel without a word and went behind a counter. I said "I guess that's a no?" rather loudly. She flinched so she surely heard me, but she didn't bother looking my way again and started checking someone out. I will NEVER shop at CVS again. NEVER. read more

I have been trying to find a place that still is offering passport photo services for the last few days due to COVID closures and was relieved to find that this CVS still was. I had been driving around for a couple of hours to different locations and when I arrived at this CVS, John was extremely patient and went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied with the pictures and that they were compliant for my visa. Dear Tanya, I hope you're feeling better now - less stressed. I wouldn't be surprised if you aren't - you always seem so stressed when I see you. Today was no exception, and in fact, today was downright confusing, then frustrating, and finally insulting. I thought you were being sarcastic when you cheerfully said "have a nice day!" when you thought you were done with me. I knew for sure when the other customer who witnessed our entire interaction laughed at my response to you, "Yeah right! Whatevs!!" I'm guessing you never imagined this was just the beginning. The reason why I'm writing this to you in such a public place is you know so much about our family that your other customers don't. You know that my husband had two heart transplants in one year - including one transplant to a total mechanical heart. (Science is amazing, isn't it?!) You also know that I'm being treated for breast cancer. Can you imagine what that must be like? Given the way you've treated me several times - but most especially today - I'm guessing you can't. That actually makes me happy; I would hate for anyone to experience these amputations, chemotherapy, organ transplants, etc. I am also a professional - a tax attorney (I know, ha ha) - and I practice in a field that often attracts people who are great technicians but who lack customer service skills. I've heard many people like that are attracted to the hard sciences as well - like pharmacy. So when I left the store today I got to thinking: maybe CVS Pharmacy isn't the right place for you. Yes, the job requires attention to detail and allows you to get paid for your knowledge, but I'm sure you're aware that interacting with customers and solving problems - especially those created by you, your colleagues, and your employer - are also integral to your job. Unfortunately since I've met you it seems you really struggle with these aspects of your work. I have been a customer of this pharmacy for a long time - before either my husband or I experienced our extraordinary health issues and for years before you began working here. We are so grateful for the extraordinary care and service your colleagues Grace, Serena, and others have given us. That's what has kept us coming back - and has made me advocate for the longer drive to shop at your pharmacy. You see, for quite some time now my husband has told me about the unpleasant interactions he's had with you. I knew he wasn't making it up - I witnessed them myself - but I always made excuses for you. Not anymore. I don't know if you'll regret the abysmal treatment you gave me - and I'm guessing countless others - while you were feeling stressed out at work today. I do hope you'll read this and take some time to think about your career choice, especially given the fact that as a pharmacist in a retail store you chose to serve the public, including many who are dealing with some pretty serious health issues and who appreciate healthcare professionals who are just that. My family and I, which includes three small children, a 10-month-old, two-year-old, five-year-old, were outside CVS taking a photo on the walk of fame at Mary Tyler Moore's star. Directly outside of CVS. It was over 90° that day, and very little shade. I had my five-year-old and two-year-old sit on the step right outside CVS in the shade. They were perhaps 2 1/2 feet away from me where I was taking a photo of the 10 month old on the star. Two other family members were standing right next to my five-year-old and two-year-old. My husband had gone up to a female African-American in her late 20s or 30s (Only way I can identify this employee, since I did not get her name) security guard at CVS to ask if we could borrow a chair to use on the sidewalk directly in front of the CVS, so it could provide some shade for my 10 month old. She told my husband it could not leave their property. So we continued taking the photo without it. Several minutes later the same security guard from CVS came up to my two older children and asked to whom the children belonged. The two family members standing next to the two children explained that the children were with us. The Security guard then said the children needed to leave. I was stunned. My two family members standing by the children made the children stand up. After I had finished taking the picture of my 10-month-old, I asked the security guard why my children couldn't sit on the step in the shade. Her: It's a liability issue Me: it's also a liability issue if they passed out in the sun and I had to call an ambulance. Her: I realize they are babies. you could've come and borrowed the chair for them to sit on. (I could not believe she was now offering a chair, when she had refused it to my husband earlier. Maybe she did not know we were all the same family? Regardless, it seems she was making up reasons for shooing young children out of the shade) Me: thank you for that, but if I tell them to sit on the step in the shade, they will sit on a step in the shade. Her: well, nobody was paying attention to them when I walked up. Me: (speechless) Now I felt she was inventing scenarios to explain herself. Me: we were right there. That's not true. We noticed immediately. Her: well, i'm just doing my job. Is the job of your security guards to shoo away homeless bums? Loitering teenagers? And to also include little children who are sitting on the step away from the shade for a few minutes? Can your employees not make a distinction? When I walked away, I heard somebody ask, what had happened. The first thing I heard her say, was that I was not watching my children. She clearly did not want to admit that she had poor judgment. And felt better making it appear she had gone after a mother with poor judgment instead. This was sad. read more

This CVS is a tad sloppy. Things are always in the wrong places. I'm so OCD, I often come in here and wish they'd all leave me alone in this CVS overnight so I could reorganize everything. If I'd written this review a month or two ago, I probably would've given 4-5 stars. The location reliably has what I need from a drugstore, and the pharmacy has great hours and rarely any wait. Lately, however, the pharmacy staff (at least one or two of them) has gotten increasingly short, temperamental and honestly quite condescending. I am never rude, have valid questions ("A pharmacist called and said my prescription would be ready after 2pm yesterday, and today I come in and it hasn't even been filled yet, without notification. Can I have confirmation that it's been sent to be filled before I leave here?"), and am finding that they have less and less politeness. I'm honestly considering searching for a new pharmacy, even if it means go a little further out of my way. read more

There are millions of CVS's in this world, and I'm positive that there are other great ones...but I'm not reviewing those today, am I? :) The CVS that is located near Fresh & Easy Supermarket, is a really good location. Although they do have one or two slow, lazy people working there, the rest are very nice and do their job very well. The nicest people are located at the pharmacy. They help you to their fullest ability. I've had them help me many times with insurance as well as medication problems. They are the greatest people. The down point is that they are quite busy at times, but for the most part, they are prepared for the bustling Hollywood crowds. read more

The problem with this place is they don't have a large stock of items. It's not unusual to go here and find that they are out of whatever you need, or worse yet, don't even bother to stock it. There has been countless times I've used the scan your card get coupon machine where the product that has a coupon this CVS location doesn't even have. The register situation is always a nightmare. Expect long lines that move painfully slow. They are slow to open additional registers. Honestly, this location should have people at all the registers during business hours.
