This is one of my regular go-to CVS locations, and for the most part, they've been pretty good. I did switch to Walgreens for my one script since CVS never informed me that it was recalled months ago, yet I was still getting it from them (?) I felt this was irresponsible so I put an end to that, but everything else with them has been fine. During the week, staff has been really great but on the weekend, there is one shorter guy with graying hair and glasses who could have actually done his job (but chose not to). Rather unfriendly when I tried looking for a specific product, and he interrupted me saying it was on aisle 6 (even though I just came from there since it was not). Thankfully the guy back there actually grabbing stock was more helpful, but this older dude should really be in the back not dealing with people. However the during the week staff somewhat make up for him, so that makes the visit a little more pleasant. read more

GISELE IS AMAZING! It's no fun going to the pharmacy when it's busy. Folks are more impatient about getting their medicines than hungry In-N-Out Burger customers anxiously waiting for their number to be called. Gisele, a pharmacy technician, saved the day for me this busy afternoon. I had no idea that my pharmacy benefit manager changed on January 1st. As a result, CVS showed I had no insurance. All my insurance information was automatically purged from CVS's servers on 12/31. Gisele went the extra mile, figured out who our new pharmacy benefit manager was, populated the information and solved the problem--all while multi-tasking and assisting other customers at the same time. I was staying nearby, so I avoided parking by strolling down the hill. Shocked to see how empty this Sunset and Crescent Heights mall is becoming. This CVS is practically deserted, and yesterday was no different. Fortunately, I found what I needed, and I used my 10% off coupon and Extra Bucks to buy some of it. If you pay attention, some of their deals are great! Where else can you pick up popular cereals for $1.99? Granted, most cereals are one of the worst things you can eat, but sometimes you just want to indulge. Fortunately, for me, they are walking distance from where I live. It takes me less than 10 minutes to get here from my apartment. Every person working the front has been helpful and knowledgeable. I haven't had someone ring up my items more slowly in all my years. I believe she was the manager because she kept slowly helping the other cashier in between scanning my items, after taking TWO customers who cut the line because it was so disorganized in the self/not self checkout area. I bagged my own items at a certain point but that was a waste because I had to wait for her to very slowly press process on my payment then reach for the sticky handles for the paper towels and finally complete my checkout. They don't validate, and I had 2 big things of TP/paper towels and a 12 pack and a few items.. so hard stuff to carry alone... and I knew it was $2 for each 15 min. Tell me why I left and paid $6 for parking? What should have been 20 min was 40-45 I am serious. read more

The pharmacy staff was so awesome when they opened that I moved my business to them from the closer CVS to where I live to 8000 sunset. It lasted until recently. I'm guessing now they are understaffed like the other CVS's. The people are super nice when they pick up the phone 90% of the time (at the pharmacy) but today is not a good day. My first call was disconnected as in picked up and hung up after 15 minutes on hold. On my second call, After 40 minutes on hold I was told "one second" and it was another 20 minutes. Then we started over with the info that I already gave. I was so exhausted from their distorted hold music and message after 60 minutes. I wish they would change that. They Also changed their whole voice recognition system maybe a year or two ago but unfortunately they did not make it better or easier or less distorted. I wish they would. I tried moving my business to another pharmacy but the other pharmacy ended up being more expensive. It may be worth it just to not have to deal again. Once they did answer the phone and I mentioned having waited for over an hour on hold, there was no comment. I don't need an apology, but an explanation would be lovely. read more

TERRIBLE customer service. Depends who's closing but when ever the long red haired man is closing with his employee they close the store early and don't let you in. I needed a quick necessity item and live across the street and they denied me before even being closed. Terrible. Doesn't look like that's the case every night as other management works either you but I work a job where I sadly have a short amount of time before closing to get necessities and to not be able to quick grab them 10 minutes before closing is unreasonable and unethical. So I will in the future do what they recommended so they can leave on time "just go to Rite Aid they're 24 hours", sounds like it's not a policy problem but a people problem. I normally have my prescriptions delivered through Alto, but today wanted to give CVS a try. HORRIBLE MISTAKE! My doctor could not even get ahold of anyone for 1 hour, so he left a voicemail. When I called, they did not pick up for an hour either. I had to show up in store to advocate that I needed my prescription in a timely manner. Seshhhh, never going through CVS again. If you live in LA, I 10/10 recommended using Alto. They deliver same day and getting ahold of a representative is so simple. read more

Calling different pharmacies revealed that they were not able to disclose whether or not they had the class 3 narcotics she was prescribed in stock. She was turned away without any information on which pharmacy she should try next after telling them she had been to several already (it was after hours and many had closed so her options as to where to go were a bit far from each other.) The women just looked at her and the visible staples in her head from her craniotomy, as she begged for help and they coldly and curtly replied they would not even place the phone call for her. My experience with this CVS Pharmacy has been consistently frustrating because of the continued low stock for prescription medication. It is truly baffling how a pharmacy can repeatedly fail to provide the very products they exist to dispense. Month after month, my prescription medication is sold out (only at this CVS location!). CVS Pharmacy is trash. I will be canceling all of my prescriptions and switching to a different pharmacy after my horrible experiences with 3 different cvs locations. So, CVS does this thing where you pay $30 and they can prescribe you birth control for a year without you having to see a doctor. When I was trying to get my next birth control pack at the sunset location, I was not able to because their system has been down for A WEEK. Seriously... how does a billion dollar company have a broken system for that long? Well, you would think that it would be simple to transfer my prescription to a different location, but no, it gets even more complicated... Next, I tried to get it refilled at the Melrose location. When I called them and explained what had happened, they told me I would need to pay the $30 annual fee again since I would be getting it at a new location? That is not true and even the manager at sunset confirmed that I wouldn't have to pay the fee again since I should still have refills for the next 6 months! I told them to call the sunset location to figure it out, and when they finally called me back they told me everything was fine and they would refill my prescription... but when I went in there to pick it up they had no idea what I was talking about and they wouldn't give me my prescription! Such a waste of time. Then, I went into the sunset location and told them that the Melrose location wouldn't give me my prescription and the manager gave me such an attitude. Oh also their system was STILL DOWN so they couldn't help me at all! I decided to try one last time, so I called the location on Santa Monica Blvd and the lady on the phone was so rude, and was telling me information that was completely different from what the sunset manager told me, and I am still unable to get my prescription. I can't believe the cvs workers have the audacity to give me an attitude when they are the ones who are incompetent, misinformed, and don't even have a computer system that works properly! it is much more in my nature to leave positive reviews but... they couldn't read the prescription my husband dropped off so they said they'd call my doctor but they never did. they didn't follow up with me or with my doctor. i called and found out that they lost my prescription. the only follow up was an email from the pharmacy asking, "how did we do?" so, yeah, the answer is, not good. not good at all. and to make matters worse, the pharmacist decided that i needed something else entirely and didn't bother discussing it with me so things got even more confusing for them, for me and for my doctor. it was a cluster%*&! of epic proportions! after a week of this unfunny comedy of errors, i ended up taking my prescription elsewhere. bad news bears. boo. read more

So my girlfriend and I popped into the CVS before seeing a movie at the AMC a couple weeks ago. We wanted to get some candies to avoid having to stop at the snack bar. As we are walking to register the security guard says, "Y'all got enough candy?" WOW. He really said that. But honestly, I'll buy all the candy in the store if I want to A$$. Maybe CVS, unlike Planet Fitness, should advertise that their 'judgement zone.' To finish out the cons, the pharmacy does not have the best hours and the parking lot is awful. The pros: they validate parking there and I like the soda machine at the elevator's because when you hit 7-up it actually gives you a Sprite instead and to me, that is the best thing about this shopping center lol. read more

I haven't had to write a bad review in awhile. Unfortunately, that streak ran out. This CVS is near my work. I usually go here because the one near my house is really confusing (more on that in another review). Anyway, let's begin: So I needed to buy some disposable forks and plates. Since CVS doesn't label the store properly, I did not see a sign saying, "Plates/Forks" or even "Kitchen Supplies." I asked a worker if they have disposable plates/forks. He said, "Yes," but did not offer to show me where. Excuse me? Why would I be asking if I didn't want to know where they were. I then asked, "Can you show me where they are?" The worker took me to the food section, nothing there. He then wandered all around the store with me until we found it all the way in the back next to the baby supply section. This problem would have been averted if there had been even one, just one sign saying where they were. The sign near it said "Baby." And mind you, I am an adult. I do not have kids. These plates were regular plates, nothing specifically for babies. The other time I went here was when I went to get balloons. I asked if they had helium balloons, they did. I asked if they had helium. They had a big canister saying "helium" but they were out of helium. This is 2018/19, many stores have predictive software saying how much of a certain product is bought and will be bought by each store per month, per 6 months etc. Does CVS not have this? Or at the very least someone who keeps detailed records? I could accept stores that aren't Mom and Pop being out of products as recently as ten years ago but it is nearly 2020, tech has progressed so much. And it wasn't even during the holiday rush. CVS, please: 1. Please train your employees to know where things are located more thoroughly, especially if they're not hard to miss (e.g. paper plates and kitchen supplies). 2. If you move things around, please take better care to update the signage. 3. Keep better records and/or improve your software for how often each store needs shipments of things like helium. Had such a pleasant experience at this store today. Unfortunately the machines used to print pictures isn't the best technology so I decided to send the order from my phone. I was upset when the conformation said my order wouldn't be ready until the next day. The super friendly manager came to my rescue and said he can have my pictures within 15 mins. I went to put my other shopping items in my car and by the time I returned he grabbed my prints and I was ready to be on my way. read more

They rely more on "self chek outs" then actual cashiers. Thats fine if a) the self check out machines actually worked properly and b) elderly or not tech savvy didn't need help using self check outs. Often there is no cashier at all and there is a huge line because of self check out issues. Just get rid of the self check outs and staff 3-4 cashiers/registers at all times please . This used to be my neighborhood cvs. I was shopping and grabbing a few things a couple weeks ago. I was walking up to pay and before I even got close to the register or even the door I was screamed at buy a very aggressive female employee that works there. She yelled are you going to pay for that ... I was shocked and turned to her and said excuse me ... we got into some heated words . She was so aggressive with me for absolutely ZERO reason. I give this cvs a one star , if you want to get accused at stealing yelled at in the middle of the store by all means go to this cvs. The staff there is literally less than a 1 star. Spoke to store manager, who says he had a talk with bullying employee, Marabelle, who completely ignored social distancing mandate, by brushing up against a customer, trying to intimidate her into turning off her cellphone while two incompetent security guards called the police on an African American woman complaining that they had been racially profiling her while she was shopping. When Marabelle was asked if she worked at CVS, she refused to answer, and then refused to give her name. She wasn't wearing a name tag. She continued to badger and bully the customer, stating that cellphones were not allowed. When the customer asked where the signs were posted stating this, Marabelle decided to threaten the customer by telling the security guard to call the police on her. The security guard was engaged in harassing a black woman who was noticeably upset because she claimed she had been harassed by him in an ongoing, escalating scene, blocking customers from leaving the store and checking out. There was no manager on duty which resulted in total chaos, and an even potentially worse outcome due to COVID-19's/new Omicron variant. It's very frightening when you see situations like the one in North Hollywood recently, where a girl was shot while trying on a coat at the Burlington Factory with her mother. Keep your cellphones on whenever there's a situation that's out of control for your own protection. These people will lie. The manager Alex Rodrigus, has yet to do much at all, but cover his a**. I have a myriad of health problems and so unfortunately, I require a myriad of prescription medications and this is my local pharmacy where I fill them! Generally, the pharmacists are pretty easy to deal with and they have most medications available except for a few controlled substances that they have to special order for me, but they arrive the next business day, so that isn't too much of a hassle at all! My only tip is to make sure that your doctor uses his very best handwriting because the pharmacists are super sticklers for messy hand writing and they almost always have to call my doctors office to confirm the prescriptions even though they are monthly refills! But other than that, I'm pretty happy that I'm so conveniently located to this CVS pharmacy! read more

This review is more of a "plea" and "wake up"and "do something" to headquarters and the powers that be. Please give this store informed management and staff to make this location a 5 star! Whenever I have been in the store and I have been coming to this particular location for quite some time, I have probably been able to find and speak with an associate on the floor less than a handful of times. Now having said this, the associate was always polite and went the full mile to help me and this is including the employees at the pharmacy. I remember one funny experience I had when asking an associate for help she replied that she was a vendor not an employee. Well this "vendor" was sitting on the floor surrounded by product...sleeping! Yessss, I had to wake her up! I'm not going to say which department she was in, but I mention this incident only to bring attention to what management needs to address. Now I'm going to end this review with giving the one and only...the "hardest" working employee at this store, JERRY 5 stars ! Jerry is always so pleasant, upbeat, and helpful! And it seems like he's a solo act, because he always there alone greeting me with a smile. Let's say his presence makes me keep coming to this location. Coming from a retail point of view, these are some of the nicest people. I've witnessed a few rude and difficult customers, but these workers are just doing their jobs. This is definitely the best CVS in the area, period. The pharmacist, Judith, is wonderful! Her interactions with subordinates are so kind, (I've seen some other CVS interactions get seriously harsh over the years) and the overall vibe is very calm, professional and confident. There is synergy at this location and that makes this branch a true assets to add to the CVS arsenal. It's very nice to have a pharmacy that actively helps you stay on track of meds, insurance, etc. as it can be daunting to manage on your own, specifically for those who have a long list of mandatory medications.
