Didn't know if I should tip toed through the store then without warning, boom long lines in the front thought I be there all day Walgreens is really a store to grab quick items you need and really focus on grabbing milk bread and out the door the pharmacy is really the area that makes the most effort on providing for there customers friendly and quick response but dont recommend drive up window they do take forever. .I don't particularly care to shop at a place where customer service is at a dead zone but will keep getting simple items needed. Located in Westlake off Bee Caves Road and West bank drive parking full had to park close to the bank next door. So another store to do a drive by if you understand grab and go. It's a drug store on Bee Caves Road. Walgreens doesn't always have the best price, but sometimes they have a smoking deal. I got two boxes of generic Mucinex for $10 (buy one, get one free). I don't troll the Walgreens for these deals, but when I find them, I'm glad I went. We get photos done there too, and it's crazy cheap and fast. The staff is good at greeting you upon arrival and the fella at the checkout, Alvin, is literally one of the kindest people I have ever met. The world needs more Alvin's. Preface this by saying I am a local physician. I went to get my booster shot there--appointment made beforehand. Unfortunately I had to drive my son's vehicle. He had mine, no masks in my son's vehicle. I was told I needed a mask to get the vaccine--they told me they "had no spare masks" but I was welcome to buy some. This is bullshit on so many levels I don't know where to begin. Walgreen's can't give masks for this cause? They don't have any? For crying out loud. My bad for not knowing my son didn't have masks in his car--but Jesus to force someone to buy masks to get the damn booster? CDC guidelines be damned. We fill all of our prescriptions there. Just for anyone expecting to get a covid test here. I arrived to Walgreens at 4 and promptly got in line for my 4:30 appointment. Confirmation email states to come at least 15 minutes before, I came 30 minutes before just to be safe. Upon arrival there was over 9 cars in line. I attempted to call the pharmacy to let them know that I was in line and didn't want to miss my testing appointment. You are informed to not go inside for covid testing so I wanted to respect that. After 1 1/2 hours of waiting we finally get to the window, just to be told that they stop covid testing at 5. Which is nowhere mentioned in their website or in any confirmation emails sent to me. I explained that we've been waiting over an hour and the girls response was, "well just reschedule online." This is 2 days before thanksgiving, there are NO other appointments anywhere for a rapid. The girl in the window as well as the pharmacist didn't seem to care and reiterated that I'd be required to reschedule and they can't do anything because they stop at 5. So, if you schedule an afternoon covid test, make sure you get there before 3:30PM to ensure that you can actually get your testing done. read more

This place has a great location but staffing in pharmacy has been a problem for a longtime. Prescription ready pick ups can take 20+ minutes. Would be ideal for them to have two lines. 1) Drop off/prescription NOT ready line and a 2) prescription ready line that is fast and easy. The insurance piece for drop off can take an extended period of time backing up customers. Pharmacist are always friendly but operating a good queue for faster service is a weak spot. read more

I used to walk here all the time when I was a kid with my friends and buy the most random crap. I wonder how much money I've spent on candy/ toys I don't need in this store. ANYway, now I use Walgreens for their photos! I love the low prices and easy online website they have for ordering them. They have a lot of fun options (posters, mugs, calendars,prints, ...etc.) BUT, their prices are jacked up sometimes. A 4x6 print is generally around $.19, but at one point I remembering ordering 15 of them and they wanted to charge me $20! I cancelled the order, and went back the next week and their prices were back to normal. This happened again to me a week ago. I wanted to order a photo card (kinda like those Xmas cards families send out), but they said it was $16 each! I ordered 3 last Xmas for under $3!!! Idk what's wrong with their prices! The guy at the counter was new when I asked, so he didn't know. The pharmacy is fine, but I prefer CVS or Randalls for various reasons (they don't let me fill a 3 month prescription, which puts me back $40 due to my insurance, when CVS will allow it) and other issues such as returns and stuff like that. It's a regular pharmacy/store, but others are better. It's got a nice location though, and the people working there are generally friendly. read more

The Walgreens on Bee Cave Road is a really large, clean store and it's never very crowded and the parking is plentiful. So I recommend it for that. Also it has a drive thru pharmacy (although it does get backed up at peak times). So the pharmacy is more 3 stars and the store is 4 stars. The cashiers are always friendly and willing to help. We used to coupon a while back (quit that due to time restraints) and this was a good location to hit because they were always well stocked and generally helpful at the register. Decent wine selection. Good seasonal aisle, good greeting card selection, plenty of makeup and beauty goods. A drug store that I don't hate going to. read more

I always receive great service from this Walgreens (Bee Caves Rd) for general and pharmacy needs. And during this current Covid period, two staff members have gone above and beyond to assist in important ways. The pharmacy team is always professional and Cara - one of the pharmacists - exemplifies the best! She is always professional and she cares, going out of her way to make sure customers' needs are properly and promptly met. Also I've received extra assistance from Kendra at this store. During this Covid period I called to see if I could purchase a small - but important - item without entering the store. Kendra took my call today, located and rang up my purchase, and had it ready and waiting for me at the drive-thru window shortly after. The drive-thru is a huge help at this store. While always a convenience, it has been a great help in these rare times when some people like myself are reluctant to shop inside of any store. Generally, this location is fine. Sometimes the pharmacy is EXTREMELY slow, but the pharmacist and techs are generally good. However, one of the cashiers, Kathy, is a problem. She's nice enough, but she seems to always be complaining about her job. Today, the customer in front of me left his checkout-generated coupon, and Kathy said to me "Wow, he was so rude! Ugh, I'm so sick of the abuse here!" This has become par for the course every time I shop here. It's very unprofessional to complain about your job in front of customers. I also work retail, and I often complain about it, but not in front of customers! Does she think that I want to listen to her complain? 'Cause I don't. read more

I just called to get the status of a prescription I had called in three days ago. Turns out they never bothered to fax it over to my doctor. Good thing it's after hours on Friday and I'm just now finding this out. You may think this is an isolated incident, but it's not. Crap like this happens constantly at this location. You'll wait on hold for 30 minutes to talk to a real person only to be told (nicely, mind you) that they can't solve your problem, nobody can solve your problem, and they have no idea why there's a problem or who created the problem but maybe it'll sort itself out someday in the distant future. If you've got to use this pharmacy, go ahead and ask your doctor to preemptively call in some blood pressure medication. You're gonna need it. It may not get filled, but you're gonna need it. read more

It's been a long time since this Walgreens has had a good manager. The manager they have now is AWESOME! He has great people skills, and the employees are happy. I get great customer service. I get great vibes in the store. I don't have to deal with sour toxic people like some of the employees who work at the S.Lamar location. The customers are happy and seem less toxic ( Victoria) The majority of the customers are great people!! A bad manager brings down the store in a lot of ways. 1 morale, 2 productivity, 3 health issues due to dealing with a toxic manager, 4 sales. The Westlake Walgreens is now a happy place to shop, because it's a good manager who sets the tone of the store. It brings in customers. When Mr. Roman, Mr Prime, and Mr Ahr was running the store it was a great store to shop. The employees were happy, the morale was up, and employees were ready to help the customers. They had great Beauty Advisors! They were very informative about the products. You can't get that kind of service anymore thanks to the Walgreens Co., The Walgreens Co.did away with Beauty Advisors a few years back. Other than that, the Walgreens in Westlake is my store of choice. read more

Went to get a vaccine that has multiple installments. Pharmacist checked my insurance told me it was covered and would be $0 plain and simple. Several weeks later I receive a bill from Walgreens for $600. Go back and then I get this long detailed explanation how $0 was just a preliminary estimate and they had to check with insurance etc etc your standard BS. I just went to this location for a Flu shot and had the most horrible service ever. First of all, pharmacists do not know how to give flu shots. I was treated by the main pharmacist and she stuck me in the wrong part of the arm. This resulted in hitting a blood vessel and I was bleeding all over with a huge goose egg from the horrible injection. I then began to feel faint and told the pharmacist this and she said to just sit there and see how I felt in a few minutes, then she took off as fast as she could. I then felt nauseous and asked for help so that I could have a garbage can and the other 2 pharmacy techs ignored me. I started dripping sweat and getting upset (again starting to black out) and no one helped me at all. This was a HORRIBLE experience and I am going to tell everyone I know to not go to Walgreen's (this location in particular) for a flu shot. Please make an appointment with your dr. so that a nurse or dr. will properly give you your shot! read more

We used to frequent the Walgreens on Brodie and William Cannon and now that we live here, this one totally blows. They never answer the phone. The lines are unbearable at the pharmacy. Etc. The thing that put me over the edge happened yesterday. I dropped a prescription off at 9:00 AM and the woman who took it said how about 1:30 for a pickup? I said fine. I came back at 3:07 (was on the phone when I pulled up so I had the time stamp) and waited in a 17 minute line only for them to tell me it wasn't ready yet. Why tell me 1:30 then? And if you do, have a computer contact me telling me it's not ready or something. If this was just an isolated incident well then that's life and it happens. I wouldn't give it a second thought based on my experiences had it happened at the Brodie and William Cannon location. But it happened here as stuff like this always does.
