Plate of sushi at Asian King Buffet, Waxahachie
    Bruce K.

Lots of options here at a Chinese buffet that ended up being an early dinner for me. Clean, well stocked and friendly service. One of the better buffets I have been to. Very nice sushi display. Great to see eel which is unusual and the nigiri with salmon and tuna and shrimp. I was able to put together a couple plates and avoid the overly fried and the overly sauced options. So it's not all bad. Lots of shrimp and crab and crawfish on the dinner buffet if that's something that appeals to you. And a Mongolian / hibachi grill. We came here with our little one because she loves buffet! And it didn't disappoint there was so many options for us to eat ! We got the fried corn and spring rolls and lo mein was great as well Service was amazing and the restrooms were so clean

Shut down for health code violations as we ate! Why was I allowed to eat as the whole place was being shut down! In disbelief I videotaped what was happening and the manager called the police on me (police were completely on our side when they arrived). Outrageous!!! Drive across the parking lot to Hibachio! SO MUCH BETTER!

I tried the fried shrimp, head on shrimp, crabs legs, broccoli chicken, rice, crab Rangoon, spring roll and egg rolls

Maaaaannnnn, I had such high hopes for this place but... I can't recommend it. Went on Saturday night at 6 o'clock. It wasn't too crowded. The staff wasn't necessarily rude but they were cold. It wasn't a very inviting vibe. They had crab legs and head on shrimp. They were all way over cooked not seasoned right, not tasty at all. I had the broccoli chicken which was OK but Ton's Palace in De Soto is way better. The egg rolls were better than the spring rolls that were meh at best, The sushi was meh. I got a Mongolian bowl that was less than sus af. Basically $15 per person for a buffet it just seemed too expensive (inflation is a thing but still). I went with my mother who got a discount it was $38 total for two buffets and two soft drinks. Won't be back.

    Actual pricing.

It was better than I expected based on reviews. I don't eat seafood at all so I was limited to maybe 6-8 meat items. If you enjoy seafood you will love it. I don't have any gripes really. 4 stars as I feel it's overpriced by $1.

    I cream too

This was one of the better Chinese buffets I've been too. It also had a Mongolian grill and sushi. Everything seemed and tasted fresh. Very large selection. I would recommend.

Not good. Kung pow chicken was salty and chewy...not sure if it was chicken. Rice was very dry. The sweet donuts were warm and very good.

As soon as I walked in, I had a feeling that this was going to be much better than I would expect for a strip mall restaurant. We ordered the pork pot stickers, lamb dry hotpot, and the karage ramen. The pot stickers were perfectly cooked, crispy on the bottom, good chew, and great flavor. The lamb dry hotpot was a kingly meal. The presentation was impressive and the exquisite variety of ingredients made this a meal to remember. The karage ramen was lackluster, I would wager their other ramen options are better. The atmosphere was pretty good and the service was excellent. Overall, if I lived in Waxahachie, I would be a regular here.

It's that type of hole in the wall place that has you knowing it's going to be something. It served a wide variety of Asian dishes from Vietnamese to Japanese to Chinese to Thai, but I wager at its core it's Chinese. We started with the pork potstickers, and they were fantastic. It's hard to find places that cook the outside correctly with crisp on the bottom and chew on top, but Fun did it perfectly. My bf got the lamb dry hot pot, and it looked stellar. He got a lot of food for the money and really enjoyed it. I would recommend if you could handle spice. I tried the Chicken Karaage Ramen, and found it lacking. It tasted like eating pure grease, and though the Karaage was alright, it was weighed down heavily by the broth. The noodles were noticeably homemade, though. Overall, we would recommend coming here.

Everything came out pretty quickly, especially the drink, which I appreciated. The calamari was good and the sushi was fresh and enjoyable, definitely some of the better sushi I've had south of downtown Dallas. Service was also pretty good. I had a few questions and they were all answered without any issues, and the staff was attentive without being overbearing. It wasn't too packed when I went, almost on the slower side for lunch, which honestly made the experience feel very relaxed. It's a really family-oriented, community-run type of place, and I'd actually love to see them get a little more lunch traffic because the quality is there. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it. We had 13 people at the table with 2 more tables of our group who came after us and still not food! Those tables after us were all served and finished and still my sushi did not arrive at the table. Had to ask them to make it to go and still had to wait! To make it worse the sushi was terrible. I ordered the Godzilla roll, no flavor and it was soggy. The soy sauce they put in the bag was low sodium which add nothing to an already terrible Roll.

First, the service was excellent, I believe our server was named Presley. Very kind, always checking on us and keeping our water and tea full. On the buffet, my dad enjoyed the salad he had, but was surprised at the little variety offered that day. He said last time he was there with my brother there was more to choose from. He then got the fried chicken, which was greasy and barely any chicken on the thigh. I tried to find a drumstick but it was just breasts, thighs and a few wings. He did like the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. As for the fried okra, you have to eat it fresh. It is sitting under a heat lamp just makes it soggy and slimy. I ordered 4 vegetables a la carte which came out to be as much as the all you can eat buffet. First, their onion rings are OUTSTANDING! So is their homemade ranch. What was disappointing was the green beans, they definitely came out of a can and were heated. At $3.99 I expected fresh. There may have been a small piece of onion in it. Not sure if that was how it was cooked or if it fell in from another dish. The black-eyed peas were tasty. I also had a cup of the chicken corn chowder which was good. However, there was pieces of cubed chicken in it which also made me think that it was a prepackaged soup and not homemade. My dad got the coconut cream pie, which tasted good, but could have used more coconut then just on the top. He wanted bread pudding or peach cobbler, however at the time of day we were there, they had been picked over way too much, not leaving much for anyone else to enjoy. I did like the selections in the gift shop and purchased a tea towel before we left. I always like to try a place 3 times so I may stop in and try something else. Again, great customer service.
