FRAUD, SCAM, FRAUD, SCAM i contacted Austin Cowboy stucco, a…read morecompany i found on google with 5/5 on 20 reviews with a prestigious address downtown Austin and an impressive facebook portfolio and website. The phone listed asked me to dial 1 then redirected me to a voicemail. i did not leave a message. 7 minutes later, Lee Jimenez, the contractor called back and introduced himself as Austin Cowboy Stucco. Lee came across as experienced, kind, polite and respectful you'd be shocked to realize all this is a front for a professional scammer. Naively, i signed an estimate, not even a contract, with this stucco contractor for $52800. the contractor Lee Jimenez started to push for a 50% payment to buy supplies. i paid him $25,200. Once he got the money, he started to not be prompt at answering phone texts. he was supposed to give me invoices for materials ordered, agree and commit to a warrantee vervatum in a contract , and he was supposed to give me a bid for stone work. He never did. After a series of lies, i started to be suspicious. I was confused when I noticed that the company name on the estimate was Lone Star Construction Services and Lone Star Stucco and Stone with no mention of Austin Cowboy Stucco . i looked up Lone Star company reviews on google, Houzz, BBB and other sites, they were poor across the board, with several reports indicating a pattern of walking away with customers money, doing minimal or no work and then not responding to all communications. i visited the location of Austin Cowboy Stucco who i originally called. it was a residential building with a fake suite number 111 that never existed in that building. I realized it was a Fake company with fake address and fake reviews and a phone number that connects you to Lee at Lone Star Construction Services. I realized Lee used the shell company name Austin Cowboy Stucco to bypass his poor reviews which expose his fraudulent behaviors, and to collect customers money through deceit. All this happened within less than 2 weeks of our initial meeting. I texted him to cancel the order and pay me back. He stated he himself was not interested in doing the job. he was surprised the bad reviews were not taken down as it was 8 years ago, but actually most reviews are much more recent than that one review on Houzz which indicates this behavior goes back at least a decade. Obviously he manipulates the platforms reviews to his favor. He never returned my money. He never produced invoice evidence that he purchased any materials. Again, as reported in other reviews he is unresponsive to communication. I was a lucrative fraud victim of this criminal. I will keep you posted of the law suit coming his way.

I admired the fact the owner takes pride of his work and granted I am as happy as can be. He did go way and beyond I am planning to have them back again in the future for more work. Easy to work with and will listen to what you want and how you prefer the job done. Never have I seen a color match we have had our house worked on before but didn't turn out the way I wanted. You have to see for yourselves. I cannot imagine my house looking this perfect and matching as though it looks like new. After all the mold and discoloration of my house exterior was looking worse untill I hired this talented group . Yes I will hire in a heart beat.

We signed the contract and put a deposit for half the entire amount. After we signed the contract and put in our half deposit, we were informed that 2 of our windows are arched and Andersen 100 doesn't make arched windows. They said we could replace our front of the house windows with Andersen 400 or Simonton. Simonton is supposedly a less expensive window than Andersen's 100 series. But, they quoted us a higher price to replace the front windows with Simonton than we were quoted for the same windows in Andersen 100. We ended up ordering Simonton Windows with grids for our entire house. We had already paid ($15,000) from our original contract and we were locked in with JP Exteriors. On window installation day, we noticed that there was one window at the front of the house missing a horizontal grid. They let us know that they could get us a "great price" to replace the window that we had already paid for with the proper grid. They also left several small projects unfinished including painting the trim around 2 windows, filling interiors holes around 3 windows, fixing an interior window sill that was damaged during window installation. Ultimately, the window that was missing a horizontal grid was replaced at no additional cost to us and the remaining unfinished items were all competed in a satisfactory manner. However the replaced window that was missing a horizontal grid has now been replaced and the vertical grids on the top window are not lined up with the vertical grids on the bottom windows (See photos below.) It looks terrible and is at the front of our house. We wanted to love JP Exteriors based on their 5 star reviews, but unfortunately, we have had a 1 star experience. Update: They have said that they will fix the window so that the grids line up. If this happens, that will be good.

I called Todd to build a cement block wall based on a recommendation from a neighbor. He was responsive at first and started quickly, but to my detriment I ignored a few red flags, including dodging my direct question before signing about the footing depth by telling me to read the testimonials on the website. I don't think Todd has ever done masonry. He seems to be a shrewd business person who connects customers to subcontractors without holding them to any uniform standard. The footing for this 57-foot long, 8-foot high wall was excavated and poured in a single day. It was 9 inches (yes, 9!!) out of level, not stepped but following the grade of the lot, and sloppy. When I confronted, Todd referred me to the heads of the crew. With some language barriers, they described only minor adjustments to "level" each block. They must have planned to lay them in snaky courses, either hoping the stucco would hide their sloppy work or not even having that much of a plan. Keep in mind we are talking about isometric, rectangular cement block, not natural stone. Furthermore, the footing was only 12 inches wide and went about 11 inches below grade to support a straight, heavy, 8-foot tall wall. I believe that I prevented a catastrophic failure down the road by cancelling the whole project. I'm out $6600 for the footing alone, as that was the best offer I got from Todd to cancel the whole thing. Now have a cedar fence where my sound wall was intended to go, after paying to core into the footing to set posts. To his credit, Todd did offer to demo the footing and start over. I was afraid to go forward with that approach for a host of reasons. It was going to be disruptive, damaging to my property, and time-consuming, all to the end of letting the same crew that screwed it up in the first place have another go at it. Sometimes you just have to suck up the sunk cost and move on. My biggest mistake by far on this project was hiring Austin Stucco and Masonry. I took a video of the footing against a level line, but Yelp is no longer allowing videos, so these snapshots are taken from the video and are not as clear as they would be otherwise.

They took time to address all of my questions & concerns and provided options to meet my objectives. Very reasonable pricing. Accommodated my schedule to start the work. In addition to stucco repair work, they installed new stucco on a wall that had siding that was in need of repair. At the end of the job they confirmed with me that all work was completed to my satisfaction before considering the job done. Everyone I interacted with was very pleasant. All-in-all a great company to work with. I will absolutely use them again for future projects.

We first hired Mark Gault as an expert witness in the proceedings to diagnose. He has been in the industry for quite a few years (20+) and clearly the stand out stucco expert in the area with rock solid (no pun) references and industry credentials. We won the lawsuit and immediately hired Mark Gault homes to perform all remediation work. The work was extensive requiring stucco to be stucco and stone on the home, wood damage repaired and then stucco reapplied with all the vapor barrier, wire mesh, etc etc on nearly the entire home. Gault and his crew were straight forward, honest, respectful taking into account neighbors concerns, my time involvement and even as allowed our babies sleep schedule when possible - super easy to work with. A solid 4 months of constructions crews, city inspections, machinery the work progressed smoothly with very few issues. The project was delivered on time within %5 of budget! We can now enjoy our home! No leaks! Imagine that... Thanks Mark and crew!

The cabinets and walls needed a total refresh of paint, and all that new woodwork had tons of caulking/filling/sanding/priming etc to do. Then we needed new crown molding added to our half bath, and there were several sheetrock patches plus some ceiling cracks which needed good prepping and feathering in. Also, our front and back doors needed to be repainted. So - a lot of work! And I am picky about quality. I chose Austin Professional Painting because they seemed well organized, well qualified, and ready to go at a scale of enough workers that we could get back to living in the downstairs of our house in a reasonable amount of time. Their comfort with good quality paint was also a key factor in my choice. So: the guys who came out to do the work, Carlos and Ivan - plus another couple of guys on certain days, were very nice, polite, and extremely hard working. They did a very good job and I am satisfied with the work. I would hire Austin Professional Painters again (and probably will this fall when we get around to renewing the master bath), and I definitely recommend them. I'll have to update this review with photos soon, I just need to take a bunch of them.

This was by far my best experience with a painting company so I highly recommend APP and will be using them for any future painting work.
