It took a bit to actually get the service scheduled but once we figured out the date and approximate time, everything was very smooth. Jose and one of his team members came through last week to patch up a small area that we needed repairing in the living room. It's a small job so definitely appreciated how they still took this seriously and made sure everything looked right before heading out. Plus it was super quick! After our plumbing was fixed, we went to Yelp for recommendations for someone to repair the sheetrock and paint. We got bids from 5 people. We hired Jose Carlos at MH Painting and Drywall and are glad we did. Our roof had a leak and the ceiling at the top of our staircase split open with a 2 foot crack. Jose Mendoza had done a lot of work for a neighbor, so I asked for his number. I sent him photos, and he came out and gave an estimate for the repair. Jose put up plastic to protect the wall and furnishings and taped, textured and painted the patch with paint he selected after seeing the ceiling color/sheen, so that the repair is indistinguishable from the rest of the ceiling. The quote came in $100 to $150 more than others who included painting the wall being repaired, and in some cases including the purchase of paint. The quote from MH said "wall" so for the price we figured they would include the paint, the painting of the wall and we were paying more for higher quality service - keeping the space clean, etc. No paint was included in the estimate and the estimate from MH only included painting the space repaired - if we had the paint available for them. I would have gladly paid more to have hd the group help paint another extra wall in the room but the inflated estimate and miscommunication felt deceptive. MH also did not return the next day to finish the job or message to inquire about coming by to finish. He discounted the original estimate by $50. Ask lots of questions before working with this business, folks. read more

We decided to go forward with re taping and skim coating our walls since it was built in 1969 and we wanted to do it correctly. They wallpapered, wainscoted, painted, re trimmed. We asked them to do a lot of additional things they didn't have to do (hang new fixtures, install new recessed lighting, move wires, remove carpet) and he gave us the best prices to do so. He was honest throughout the entire project and if anything we were the ones pushing for more money to be spent. Compared to any contractor we have heard about, he stays on schedule despite his high demand. At first, the ceiling didn't look exactly perfect (the drywall was placed higher up so it didn't seamlessly meet with the side wall) but we could barely notice and it didn't bother us.
