I didn't feel like cooking the other night, so we looked and to see if there were any food trucks around. Wally's popped up a couple minute drive away, so we hopped on the golf cart at 5pm and headed their way! They were just opening so we gave them a few extra minutes and circled back around. As soon as we approached the window the lady and man asked if we've ever been, which we hadn't, and briefly explained the menu and then the lady took over while he cooked. We ordered the Lamb Gyro and Lamb rice bowl and added and order of Dolmas. It was only a few minutes until we had hot, fresh, delicious food! We drove home and devoured it. We would definitely try them out again. Everything was seasoned just right. There was an ample amount of lamb and you can add as many toppings from the list that you like. :) read more

We had the food truck come to our neighborhood tonight and I can 100% confirm that Wally Gyros are the best in the area. They are equivalent to the best street food I've had in NYC and London. It's the type of food that you probably shouldn't eat all jn one sitting but that you definitely will. I had the loaded lamb fries with hot sauce, which was reminiscent of multiple memorable late nights in London. The owner was extremely kind and the food was super fast and affordable. This food truck came to MUSC today and I really enjoyed it. I had the salad with lamb. There are lots of different things to pick and choose to put on the salad and I essentially had everything just to see how that would turn out. I'm glad I did! I was hungry and this salad hit the spot. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and delicious. If I wanted a lighter salad, I might in the future hold the cheese and have the sauce on the side- maybe ask for extra lettuce too. If you ever get concerned about asking for a something salad and you get a bowl of lettuce with a tiny bit of something, this is not how Wally plays- thus maybe ask for extra lettuce! I will definitely choose this food truck when they are back at MUSC. read more

Wally's been branching out beyond the reach of the gentleman's clubs. He's expanded his business and he's now setting up shop all over town. The other night he set up in my apartment complex for food truck Tuesday so I knew I was eating good for dinner. Considering it was the first time the complex had a food truck come in, he seemed to stay pretty busy. He kept the line moving quick while slinging food all by himself. This was my second time trying the loaded fries. Damn they're good but if you're getting a sandwich or something, you might want to share fries because it's a lot. I did the mixed grill (chicken and lamb) on the fries and did just lamb for the gyro. There's plenty of toppings but I usually go with lettuce, tomato, tzatziki, hot sauce, and this time I added banana peppers. It was a perfect combo. I'll definitely be ordering that again. read more

Wally Gyros was our food truck today at work. I have to say the gyro I had was pretty solid. I ordered the Lamb Pita Sandwich (gyro) with onions, jalapeños, and tzatziki sauce; it was just right. I also got an order of Baklava, but it was pretty skimpy for $2.99; should have been 2 pieces in the container for that price. The hummus was a strange consistency, the dried herbs over the grape leaves were too salty and added an odd and unnecessary topping. Wally's Gyros food truck offers delicious Mediterranean food, which we enjoyed at a local brewery one Saturday night. The menu is plentiful with pita sandwiches, rice plates or many different sides. We had the lamb gyro and loved it. It was a large cooked pita bread filled with tender lamb, fresh tomatoes & lettuce, and a tzatziki sauce. This is a food truck, so make sure you know the location it'll be in when you plan on going. Wally just keeps doing his thing. He has now expanded to a full truck and trailer and his menu has expanded to keep pace as well. His gyros are still just as delicious and have not changed one bit. This update is to highlight the new fries that he is serving up. He is dishing out fries hot our of the fryer and then covered in your choice of any meat he serves and has also added turkey bacon just for the fries. Then once your fries have been covered in the meaty goodness of your choice it all gets slathered in his delicious tzatziki sauce. For meat I recommend the Wally mix...this is his lamb and chicken for the gyros mixed together. The flavor of the chicken and the tenderness of the lamb...I just can't get enough of this fry dish. I do not know where to find a better gyro in Charleston...so get on social media and track Wally down, you will be happy that you did. read more

I went here last bight. Traveled from Moncks Corner to the lower end of North Charleston just to try it way past my bed time. It was worth the trip. I was only able to consume half of the loaded fries before getting extremely full. I ended up saving the gyro until the next day and ate it cold and it was still delicious! Very juicy and the Carmelized onions are to die for on this. Definitely interested in trying a cheeseburger with lamb meat and a hot dog with lamb meat. This truck travels during the day but is consistently open by the strip clubs every night. Can't wait until he comes back to MUSC don't know if I can make that late night drive again. read more

Came into Charleston at 3 am and needed something before we hit the hotel. My wife found wallys on yelp so we gave it a shot. I had the philly cheese steak gyro and the wife had the mixed Wally gyro. Both were fantastic and beyond what we were expecting. My wife's gyro had a mix of lamb and chicken and it was the best she's ever had, and she doesn't even like lamb. He has also fed me since 2010/11.... always consistent, always DELICIOUS, and man that special gyro sauce is AMAZING! Make sure to add jalapeños to the gyro- it's a nice kick! These gyros are the best I've ever had. I highly recommend the lamb or mixed grill, it is perfectly seasoned and textured and blows away the lamb at other Mediterranean / Greek restaurants. The gyro with jalapenos, dill pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and tzatziki cant be beat! Its a little messy but that's part of the fun (you can always get the tzatziki on the side). So, a good friend of mine posted a picture of a lamb gyro he recently got from here; between the delicious looking picture and him raving about it I had to give it a try. My wife and I ordered both a gyro, cheese steak and wally's seasoned fry's. The gyro was absolutely delicious & I would be raving about that had I not gotten a cheese steak! The cheese steak was both our favorites and reminded me of the delicious food I used to get back in Chicago. The owner of Wally's is from New York and he knows how to make good food. He is also very friendly and you can tell he is passionate about the product he sells. There was so much flavor in both sandwiches it gave me a new reason to live! There is plenty of meat loaded into these sandwiches! The prices are great for the quality and size of order you are getting and the best part is the price stays the same no matter what toppings you want. We definitely will frequent Wally Gyros. Super friendly....are you *&^%$% KIDDING ME??!!! Wally needs to learn that in the F&B industry, whether it is out of a truck or in a brick and mortar, politeness is the name of the game. Your sandwiches are not all that to put up with your "you are no better than me" attitude. Take that back to wherever it was you came from. I was on the fence about ordering while my friend received his order through the window. I opened the box to look at the sandwich and 'ole Wally gets butthurt over it and tells me to "check out my customer reviews if you want to know how my food is".
