After a trip to Myrtle Beach with five colleagues, we were preparing to drive back to Virginia when my 2017 Suburban developed a serious rattling noise. Stressed and unsure if it was even safe to drive, I went to Firestone on Hwy 17. At first, the front desk wasn't very responsive to my concerns -- but then Don, one of the mechanics, stepped in. Don didn't just glance at the issue -- he personally brought my vehicle into the bay, lifted it, inspected it thoroughly, and quickly identified the problem: bolts on the flywheel had loosened. He took the time to show me exactly what was wrong, patiently explained the situation in a way I could understand, and reassured me about what needed to be done. Not only did Don tighten the bolts, he also applied Loctite to make sure the repair would hold during our long drive back. Thanks to his quick thinking, expertise, and real compassion, we were able to make the journey home safely. Don didn't treat me like just another ticket number -- he treated me like a person under serious stress who needed real help. I was trying to get in touch with them to have some work done, it happened but it didn't go so well so I've been trying to reach back and no word. They are dodging me and it'll have to come down to me going back to the shop and confronting them about it. I want everyone to avoid them, they are not a good shop.
