This was my first day off in multiple weeks, and I scheduled this ahead of time. I called and explained my situation to Tom before coming in, but when I got there, he was on lunch, so I had to start all over and re-explain everything--which was frustrating right off the bat. Honestly, this was one of the most annoying experiences I've had--at least in the beginning. My interaction with Race Valentin didn't go well at first. There was a lot of back and forth, details getting mixed up (he even thought my car was a 2013 instead of a 2023), and I didn't feel like I was being heard. I was already short on time, and by that point I was close to tears. BUT--this is where they turned it around. They filled up my tires, completed the rotation (which is what I originally came in for), and then went above and beyond. They found that a previous mechanic had installed a cheap knockoff sensor. Instead of just telling me and sending me on my way, they replaced TWO sensors, fixed the issue, and even handled my windshield wiper--all at no cost to me. By the time I left, everything was working exactly how it should. So yes--rough start, but strong finish. If anything, communication upfront (especially at the management level) could really be improved. But they made it right, and that goes a long way. I even called back after I got home to let them know everything was working perfectly--because that part matters too.

Ken was beyond helpful and even provided us a place to call if we wanted a refurbished transmission as he knew we were looking into options to save money but yet still get the job done right. We had our transmission replaced with Mike's Automotive and even with a few hiccups, nothing that was their fault...just a few extra things that had to be replaced to get the car in running shape since it had been sitting for some time. The fact that I never felt inferior by their staff and they kept the communication open with us was truly amazing. We were looking for a good automotive place and this definitely will be the place we go to from here on. Ride-sharing was not a possible option. Sue was so helpful and understanding. She agreed to take in the car and went out of her way to find someone that would give us a ride home at no charge. That kind of customer service is so rare these days. Although a quick fix by AAA resolved our issue, Vander Wal's earned a new customer and great reviews.
