It might not be so bad if you can keep the extremely rude people who love to just plow right over you out of the dang store, but then again it is Walmart that we're talking about! The store constantly is out of stock of millions of items and yet they have tons of pallets of unopened merchandise on the floor everywhere the eye can see! Of course when you ask a Walmart associate to possibly check for the item you need in the pallets of stock waiting to be put on the shelves, they come up with some lame excuse as to why they can't. Why the he!! would customer service NOT call back to electronics to ask them if they order stuff for customers? Instead, my elderly dad had to walk all the way to the back of the store, to the electronics dept. Why couldn't the "customer service" person call back and see if they do it.....instead of making him walk back there TO FIND OUT THAT THEY DON'T?! Stupid! This is why I dislike going to Walmart. Their customer service is lacking. I accidentally read the handwritten sign wrong on their self service check out thinking it said cash only. As I was scanning I realized it said cards only no cash back, clearly my mistake. I apologized to the cashier who after she made a rude comment cleared the sale went on to loudly tell the next customer how "some people" can't read. Really?? Pretty disappointed that I purchased 4 new tires from the Tire center in Walmart and I had a nail that flattened on of my tires. I was told that If I didn't purchase the road hazard I needed to buy a new tire. I was then told where to go to fix the tire and sent my way. I went to Les schwab tires and was given a new tire free of charge because the gentleman that helped me ERIC didn't feel comfortable letting me leave with the tire I had on since it was in very bad shape. After a recent shopping experience at the Bellingham Walmart it is safe to say we will NEVER return. Tonight the wife was accused of trying to steal some makeup that was in an inside pocket of a purse she found on the clearance rack.(I guess its her bad for not totally dumping out all of the stuffing, and field stripping the purse before placing it on the conveyor belt for purchase) The check stand manager accused her in front of everyone, of trying to steal the merchandise (Same merchandise that is in the hands of the cashier that was placed on the conveyor belt for purchase). If that was not enough.. she went on further to state that the purse she found (on the clearance rack) was not supposed to be there (on the clearance rack) and the wife was trying to pull a fast one. Never once did the mgr involved attempt review the security video to back her accusations for either the store or the customer. Or.... call in one of at least four employees seen in the department. Its safe to say that Walmart kept the purse. We will not be back!!!!. I did call the store mgr and voiced my opinion the same night. read more

Don't believe the Wally World haters. I live in Bellingham and find the parking lot to be no more chaotic than Bellis Fair Mall. Prices are better than most stores and shelves are well stocked. I never had a problem with smells. I found the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable. Only reason I gave it four stars is the customer service return line can be a long wait. Canadians bring your money we love your business. My wife doesn't shop here because she feels they don't pay their employees enough but I feel if they want more pay apply to Costco across the street. read more

The only reason why I shop at this Walmart is because it is the cheapest place in town to get your food. When I need something else like cloths they have a wide selection to choose from. This Walmart is just your basic discount general merchandise and food store. No deli, bakery, or fresh meat department. Most things are stocked better in the store these days then in past years/months, employees can be helpful most of the time, other times not so much. In the past the sales floor would be covered in pallets of merchandise in the middle of the afternoon. That does not happen as much as it use to. There is a new store manager and actually most management has changed in recent months A downside is compared to most walmarts I have seen the store looks pretty run down in areas, ugly old looking floor, missing ceiling tiles, non matching paint splotches on registers ect. It desperately needs another remodel, or perhaps a lot of touch ups. read more

Ok, it's Wal-Mart, and I realize that in return for the low prices you get what you get. I don't expect GOOD service from them. But for the last couple of months checking out is a nightmare. Every clerk on checkout during the daytime seems to have trouble with the process, and some of them just seem really off. Either they are not being properly trained or they simply cannot handle the process of checking out purchases. There is one guy who seems to have a problem every single time he checks somebody out, and I am careful to avoid him because it is just too frustrating. Whoever is in charge needs to do a much better job training and supervising the checkout clerks. read more

First of all I have been going to this WalMart since 2004 and they have been filling my prescriptions since that time. I know the people who work there and everyone is polite and nice. The prices are some of the best in town and the influx of Canadians has never bothered me. I wish the store would expand to a Super WalMart and have a full grocery section. My only complaint is the Pharmacy. I am physically disabled and also have difficulty understanding heavily accented speech. I seem to always get someone in the pharmacy who has a strong accent and also speaks so fast they are in some marathon. I have had problems in the past and now again currently when you place an order it takes forever for them to fill it due to the fact they don't have the drugs or items in stock. read more

Terrible service. Attempting to shop online I was looking for a particular item. The item is only available in store. Because I wanted to purchase a large quantity of this particular item I called the store seeing if they could verify an amount for me. When I asked the customer service agent if she could verify the quantity for me she snickered and said she's in the fitting room and there's no way she could help me. She'll see if she could find someone. I sat on the phone and waited and waited and waited and nothing. So I hung up and called again. The same person answered and the same thing happened. I waited and waited and waited once again and hung up. I called again and someone else answered and I asked to speak them out Adjer and guess what I waited again. I hung up. I work for a large retailer and Excellent customer service is expected from us. There is clearly no expectation at Walmart and I will not be shopping there online or otherwise. read more

Big on America? If I remember correctly, Sam Walton had a contract with International Harvester to provide the semi trucks for Walmart. When International moved the assembly plant to Mexico, Walton refused to purchase their trucks because they were not made in The United States. Sam Walton was very big on helping factories and families here, sometimes purchasing the entire yearly output of a business. Walmart is now nothing more than a clearing house for third world countries. Cheap product, terrible quality, Bellingham store is way too crowded and understaffed. Customer service is the worst. The employees seem to be as lost as the customers. And remember folks, English is the primary language. My advice, save gas, use Amazon or shop at K-mart and don't even think about getting a prescription filled. read more

Unfortunately one of the Reviews here from a Canadian felt pretty negative towards US citizens. Prices were raised at Walmart, as well as with other stores here in Whatcom County partly due to the influx of Canadian shoppers here, thus it takes more out of OUR pockets to buy just so they can earn a few extra bucks due to foreigners who love shopping here! Some of the staff are great at Walmart so you have that to be thankful for - it helps business and that's what they're trained for. And if you (mentioned by a Canadian here) want to list "bathroom stops" as one of the perks of Walmart - keep in mind that the USA has official "Rest Areas" alongside I-5 for that if that's the main reason you go in the store (your comment appears that way.) A Costco customer did a big survey a while back to see if we could limit the times that Canadians could shop there due to the large crowds from Canada that come down now. No wonder some US citizens have taken on a guarded attitude here, whether or not due to price increases, frustrating increase in crowds or pretty negative attitudes that I've seen from visitors, included in comments made here! read more

Today I tried to use the self serve checkout. I paid with a $20 and was due $12.74 back. The machine wouldn't spit out my bills just the coins. The 2 employees in the area called for a supervisor as they were unable to help (what are they their for?). After waiting a while a third confused employee came up and didn't know what to do so he left. After waiting a while longer a "supervisor" came over and had to be reexplained what was going on. After playing with the machine for a while trying to unjam it. She got a $10 out but kept fumbling around with the cash box and was even opening it up. When I asked if I could just get my $2 and she could fix it after, she said "No". So I grabbed my $10 and groceries, told her I would no longer be shopping there and left. As I was walking away she said "Sir, you didn't pay for those items!" What did she think I was waiting for?! 4 useless employees and a machine that doesn't work. Enjoy the extra $2 WalMart. You clearly don't need it but you won't be getting any money from me again. Never have that type of problem at Target. read more

Went today to get my oil changed. Hour wait, no big deal, I did a little shopping, then went back to wait. Checked in to see where my car was at and the lady at the desk was VERY rude. Then, literally the whole time I was sitting there waiting, the manager of the auto center himself and the same lady were just talking very unprofessionally and arguing and the lady was pissed off because she had to wait to take her lunch because the other lady wasn't there yet. They were b****ing THE WHOLE TIME as if there weren't any customers there. Very unprofessional AND uncomfortable for me. Then, my car gets done. The guy who rung me out was nice at least. As I'm leaving I thought he hit the button to unlock the door, but he hadn't. So, I turned around and asked if they would unlock it so I could go, and the lady who was covering the other complaining chick turns around and very rudely says "IT IS. PULL." and said it like I was stupid. Usually employees are so nice at this Walmart but this experience was pretty unacceptable in my opinion... read more

She expected more of the required product the next day and offered to put some aside for me. She took my name. For such a big store this kind of personal interest and service was terrific. I have to agree with all the other posts. Everything is correct. Walmart does cater to the Canadians. Half the time I can't find something simple that I need. I guit going here as a local and started shopping else where. The reason that the store is messy is because of the Canadians. What most of them do is they try something on or pull it off the shelf to look at it and if they don't want it, they just throw it on the floor instead of putting it away nicely back on the shelf...When ever I see this now, I let them know that they should pick up those items. They also take what they buy and pull off price tags and throw all the packaging in the parking lot, littering all over the place just because they want to smuggle the items they just bought over the border so they don't have to pay duty. The least they can do is put it in the garbage. Probably Bellingham Walmart suffers because of this behavior and they also don't stock enough, knowing the herds of Canadians that come down to shop. read more
