The best part of this store is probably the fact that it's open 24 hours. The good stuff stops there. I can't shop here without feeling dirty or disgusting. I came here last week and I asked the people by the front door "do you guys have a mask" cause I didn't have one on me. They go like "we don't provide masks here" like okay fix the attitude miss. I appreciate the self service lines, but not at the detriment of mediocre customer service. My wife and I were in line, and with little guidance a new cashier opened up taking the couple in front of us leading us to believe that we would remain in the line to be served. Only after four other people rushed into the new line did she then come back to us, telling us the line was closed and we needed to move. This caused tension among the customers...... the old cashier should gave announced that she would be closing and would take "up to this customer" and the rest would be serviced in the new line next. This is the ugliest, most horrible Walmart store ever. We were on the check-out register, and the customer checking out in front of us took more than 20 minutes to ring out her items, and the cashier acted like she didn't care there were 7 people waiting in line, and management just let this idly go by - the long lines, turtle- paced check-outs, no, they don't want to open another register. I can see why this place only has two stars. Customer service is horrible here. I came and returned a make up foundation that was not the right color. I literally bought it three hours ago at a different Walmart a few cities apart. The staff said that she cannot price match because it has to be on Walmart.com. And I told her the other Walmart in Covina allowed the price match hence why I turned it in to swap the color since it's incorrect. She had an attitude and she said I said well I can't do it so you can talk to a manager. I asked for the manager. she seemed irritated to have to go and search for the manager and when the manager came back I explain to her what the situation was and the manager proceeded to say that each Walmart functions differently and it's at the discretion of the manager and per her she is not allowing it. Essentially I thought that was ridiculous since I literally just came from a different Walmart you would think that they would all have the same policies if you can go online it's a Walmart. The worst pick up experience ever! Yesterday I got an email that my order was ready. Came today to pick it up and of course the systems were down. The associate that was helping me was very negative from the beginning. Says "the systems are down" "I don't know". So what am I supposed to just leave?! The pick up experience is only suppose to take less than 5 mins but I was there for 15. The associate finally found my order and I was on my merry way. I am a little surprised with the overall score rating for this Wal- Mart because I come to Wal- Mart (especially this location) fairly often. After this location went through renovation, this place seemed to look a little bit nicer. Wal- Mart has a ton of things to offer, like Target, with clothing, food, pet food and supplies, houseware, electronics, medication, etc. I've never really had a bad experience at this location (or any Wal- Mart for that matter). I have just always experienced quite long lines, especially weekends. There are always lowering prices going on throughout the store and honestly are cheaper than their rival Target (which is just a few blocks away, but of course less lines). There is a huge parking lot, but sometimes it can be quite a challenge to get parking, especially if you come on a weekend. Overall, shopping here has never been a problem for me and like paying the lower prices and browsing through the clothing aisles and other areas of the store. read more

This review mostly has to do with online ordering and pickup experience for this Walmart and it is really excellent and superb. During the pandemic, I especially try to order items for pickup at stores if I can. However, some stores do not do a good job with it whether it be order inaccuracy, not being ready when it supposed to be, etc. But the experience at Walmart every time is fantastic. Can't beat the prices, selecting a spot to pickup your orders is loaded with availability, and you won't wait more than 5 minutes until someone comes with your items. Extremely consistent and the order is always right. I have communicated with mostly different workers each time, but they all have done an excellent job of respecting space and placing the items in the car in an organized manner. They also keep refrigerated and frozen items in their respective spots so it is super fresh even if you pick it up hours later. I see some of the negative reviews for the Duarte Walmart, and as someone who has gone inside and shopped the store, I think there is some validity to some of the concerns raised, however to be honest it usually seems to be unruly customers who make a scene or a mess or decide to not fully put their mask over their nose and mouth. That is not really the store's fault; that is much more the fault of customers being rude and inconsiderate. But anything you would want to get in the store you can get online for pickup so I would highly recommend that option! read more

This Walmart truly sucks. They now close the beauty/makeup section at 9, which is actually stupid. I get why they're doing it, to deter shoplifting but WHY do I have to suffer because other people shoplift. Also, they usually close all registers, with the exception of like 2 or 3 by 10:30-11 and you're stuck in line for 15 minutes or more because employees have no sense of urgency. Side note: they also have a roach problem. BEWARE THEY ARE HUGE. My advice is to frequent Target, a street away, as I usually do except when I am TRULY in a bind. Last straw... while trying to purchase face cream I was stopped and told to pay at the end of the isle, if I wanted to continue shopping I'd have to pay again at the front of the store. -Plus carts never work... broken wheel or filthy. -An employee bumped my car in the lot with his go cart. -The fitting rooms are always a mess. -There was a loss prevention camera placed over the women's fitting room...which has been removed -The cashiers always seem to be complaining about break times and who's late or not working. We came into this Walmart to check out the Black Friday deals in the day time. Many aisles were pretty much blocked off with pallets of Black Friday items so it was difficult to get around. We were able to buy some of the stuff we needed and saw some Black Friday deals which we wanted to come back for in the evening. They were also setting up cookies, doughnuts, and coffee in the evening and they were kind and gave our kids some cookies. read more

Came here to do some Christmas shopping, spent over $90. Turns out I had to return one of the items! I came here on January 12 to return it with receipt, original package, not opened. And they said I cannot return a Christmas item! I asked to speak to the manager on duty (not the store manager) and she said the same thing, she said it's up to the store's discretion to accept it or not. She also said that the Rosemead location was accepting Christmas (seasonal) items. Why do I have to go to a different location to make a return?! Doesn't make sense. Apparently right after Christmas they were not accepting seasonal items. I bought the Curve for Men set. After trying to make a point that nowhere it said I couldn't return it after Christmas, that the receipt doesn't say anything, or that the cashier didn't say it was a final sale, she said I had to talk to the store manager and they were going to be in tomorrow morning. When I asked for corporate's phone number she gave me the store's number! I told her that's not the number I wanted, I wanted corporate's number. She wrote it on my receipt and left. I'll be calling tomorrow since they were closed. I would understand if I didn't have a receipt, or if the item was opened. I was even okay with getting a merchandise card or gift card. I'm just really disappointed that they couldn't do anything about it. Now I'm stuck with an item no one is going to use. Based on other reviews and my experience it's best not to shop here. I guess it's best to not shop here at all. Oh and I almost forgot that on that same day I also bought a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Apparently the workers there opened the box with a knife and cut through the bottle a little. Just my luck I got that bottle! Until I got home and I was putting a little pressure when it squirted out! I made no big deal about it just put it in a different container and labeled it. This is my local store so I do come here pretty often. It doesn't have the hot deli or bakery or even regular deli but it has mostly everything else you see in all Walmart's. If I wanted a rotisserie chicken I'd have to go to the super center in Baldwin park or one of their Walmart neighborhood market thingys. This location let the lines get long and I mostly use the self checkouts . I recommend using the pickup option if available for Walmart.com purchases. It's really simple only problem is the pickup desk is in the back of the store otherwise it's a nice service. Also the African guy in electronics was so helpful he takes time to explain the differences in tvs and make sure you understand what's going on. He goes above beyond with customers which is shocker at Walmart just sayin.. read more

Well in the middle of this pandemic and before every time I go to this store many of the employs/workers at this store do not seem to be happy to help. An attitude that does not encourage me t go back. Lack of items many times again before and after the pandemic when I asked the workers they dont make the effort to look for them stating that they do NOT have the items without making any effort to look in their system or storage area. I got here at 4pm to cash a check, I was 3rd in line. Finally got to the counter and it took 34 minutes for the clerk to know if she was able to cash a cashiers check. She called a manager, manager never came. Then all the customers stood 25 people in a long line complaining. I am happy that this store carries everything from bikes to car needs and home repair things...It has great items that are well priced...and I normally buy clothes at Nordstrom after I came home to Pasadena Ca...When I was a teacher I always shopped in Palmdale Walmart as it was next to my school...I bought all my supplies there and even some clothes...I like that it has a McDonalds and not a Starbucks..I like that there are no trash piled around the building and homeless encampments nearby...At least I enjoy the environment at any Walmart...also the parking lot is very clear where pedestrians cross and where cars wait for them...I also like that there is a garden dept...I am through with Target...just so you know I am also a Sam's Club member. I am sick with a cold...I needed more lysol air...I ordered on the app it to be delivered and the A I system changed it to curb puck up...I got a notice that It was ready for pick up...the only time reference was to go between 3 and 6 pm when it is less busy...I go there at 10:15 pm and say on the app I am on my way..I park where instruction says to and inform what space and car color I have..I wait...20 minutes later I call to see if I can tell them I am here...it goes to Voice mail...I into store...person at door says pickup is in the garden center to the north store side...I ask a manager person I see on the way about my curb side order...she says she has never seen the website but curbside orders Stop At 8pm. The App Does Not say this!!! I am told to go to customer service to see ifcI can cancel this order...No One is there at 10:45 pm... I go home 12 miles round trip ...if only I had known I would have not wasted my time going in person to store...as it stands a refund is not guaranteed. If this was about the store itself, I guess this would be a 3 star. I bought an air conditioner unit last week. It is not large enough. I needed to take it back. I am very good about keeping receipts. For some stupid reason that did not happen last week. I searched high and low for the receipt but it is gone. Different stores have different policies for things like returns. I get that. They wouldn't give me my money back for the AC as a matter of policy. (something about it being over $75) I don't really fault them for that. I should have been more careful with the receipt. I would like to know why they needed me to wait on hold for 22 minutes and speak to 2 different managers for them to tell me that they cant help me. 1 star service. read more
