What would I do without Walmart? They're always there if I need a tent, game, materials, etc. They literally have everything and are a literal superstore. So here was my experience this evening... I was just calling around to see who carried guitar picks at 9PM. Unfortunately, the universe aligned it so I would cross paths with the very agitated employee that answered my call, TWICE. The first time was actually pretty funny. I was on hold for about four minutes when I heard someone pick up. "Linda to (da da da)! Linda to (da da da)!" And then I was hung up on. I definitely laughed because, well, it was funny. When I called again the same person or someone sounding very similar answered the phone. "Walmart Duarte can I help you?". So naturally, I ask if they carry guitar picks. "Huh? Carpets?". I said no... GUITAR picks. "What? What is that? Can you describe it?". I said yes, GUITAR PICKS, and before I even started explaining what a GUITAR PICK was she interrupts me with, "Uh. No we don't." At this time I was so annoyed I just said thanks and let her know to page Linda again because she probably didn't hear it since they yelled her name in MY EAR. She then sarcastically thanked me for reminding her! LOL! I gave them three stars because whenever I'm in the store the employees are pretty helpful and nice. But their faceless, reckless, unprofessional over the phone service sucks! I'm happy to say that when I called target, around the corner they checked their inventory and even offered to order me some. I declined the offer but was appreciative of the gesture. Please be careful when you shop at any Walmart. The price marked is not always the price that rings up if you don't pay attention. This isn't the first time I've experienced this. I've gone home before with wrong price ring up and coming back won't cut it. This time I asked for the price that is marked. The staff scans the bar code it says 2.98. Well there's an entire section that marks it as 2.28. The staff says go take picture for him. We did, then they had to go ask manager and says maybe they can only honor this price for 2 packs. ( we were buying 5 packs total). Okay, so 70 cents might not be a big deal but the fact that there is a wrong here that has to be fixed. This 70 cents might mean a bigger deal for someone who's living paycheck to paycheck. I've been in customer services all my life. So either the price ring up is wrong or the shop is wrong. Just honor the prices for this purchase then go fix them immediately before the next person. I give it a 1 star for my experience today. read more

Customer services so poor at this location, now I shop Walmart stores over Ca, but this one so terrible ran. Today Dec 17, about 7:30 am or so being the holiday you would think they would have more team members on hand to help with the lines, no they had one person to handle the flow of customer that was shopping this morning, also you see the team members just walking around laughing and speaking to one another and not one of them thought to come and help the poor guy that was trying to manage the line! Also Rebecca who say she was the manager, just standing around laughing and talking as well. Now Rebecca so call manager if she really is a manager need to do better or be put back as a regular team member because she set a low standard on what a manager should be. I really hope management look at this store to see why its ran so terrible, or just last week when in to shop now remember its the holiday and guess what folks are shopping get ready to check out and No BAGS! After asking for and not receiving help from two store representatives, I had the pleasure of meeting Julian. I could not find where the food storage containers were and was having difficulty navigating the store. He was busy stocking but not only took the time to explain where to find the item but personally guided me to its exact location. Did you that if Walmart were a country, it would be the 25th largest in the world? Yah, Walmart's influence on our economy can't be denied. When it sneezes, 3,000 other companies catch a cold. That's big.... ...and believe it or not, the company has used that influence to make a whole bunch of their venders go "green", which is pretty cool, but still... ....I don't get it.... I used to go here for one reason - I could buy a super huge thing of dog food at a price like much lower than anywhere else. While I was there, I also would buy other cheap stuff because, well, it was cheap. I put up with the crappy service, slow lines, large people in spandex, half-asleep "greeters" and more odd people in spandex. God do I hate spandex. Then I started doing the math. Let's see, for the amount of time I just spent parking, looking for stuff with no one to help me, and waiting in line to pay, I could have mad X amount of money. Now let's see, for the amount of aggravation caused by all the spandex, I just lost Y number of years from my life. Adding X + Y, Walmart does not equal a good deal. Even if the dog food is cheap, I think I'll stick with Petsmart. read more

This Walmart is a joke. The employees are so very rude and not helpful at all. My sister and I now drive to Azusa to do our Walmart shopping. We have had so many ver bad interactions with Duarte Walmart employees. On one of my trips there, I cut my finger on merchandise that was about to fall on my head, and was bleeding all over the floor, but I was treated like it wasn't a big deal. I had to ask to fill out an accident report. Was told someone would be calling me......1 month later....no one has called. I've read other reviews about this Walmart, and I can't believe they are talking about the same place. It is not clean. The milk refrigerator ALWAYS smells like rotten milk. There are so many people who need jobs right now, these employees should be grateful they have a job. As a rule, I try to not shop at Walmart, what with their awful treatment of their employees and such... However, 4th of July was fast approaching, and I needed some tacky American flag apparel, so... WALMART! When I went, it was NOT the week of 4th of July, but it was a zoo there! I parked all the way at the end of the adjacent lot which means... that's a lot of people. The store was a madhouse. Things were strewn all over the floor, and I saw no attempt to pick things up by employees in the hour+ I was there. While in the produce section, I asked an employee stocking lettuce if they had basil. He said, "I'm sorry, what?" I said, "Basil." He said... "I don't know what that is." So, there was that. In the dressing rooms, I noticed the mirrors were in the corner of the dressing room, built out, like there was something behind them. I also noticed that there was a thin pipe leading out of the mirror into the ceiling. The dressing room to my right had the same, and the dressing room to my left had a wire coming out of it, which met up with my pipe which means... CAMERAS. I AM SO NOT ON BOARD WITH CAMERAS IN THE DRESSING ROOM. I cherry on top was when I checked out. Not one word from my clerk, not even to give me my total. Never again! read more

I had the worst experience here with the rudest pharmacy technician. My credit card got switched to one with a chip. I did not know I cannot swipe the card. The rude pharmacist tech (I will come back this afternoon to pick up my prescription and will get her name to post) proceeded to tell me to insert my card in the opening located on the bottom of the scanner. The bottom opening of the scanner is located in the area that is hard to view from the position of customers. The tone of her voice was SO RUDE! I inserted the card and removed it. When it did not work then she grabbed the card, and reinserted. The way she inserted the card was extremely rough, which made my credit card bent. She showed a frustration and repeated the action again and again disregarding the fact that the plastic is not a metal, and it will break unless you handle it properly. When I protested, she yelled at someone behind of me in line, "Who is next". When I told her that I needed her apology for the attitude she exhibited, she said "I do not have time for that" I have a very good insurance coverage, yet a total copay is $80, a month. (without the coverage, it could have been over $500.00). I will not go back to the same pharmacy to deal with someone who is confused about what she is supposed to do. read more

This place is a nightmare! Came in mid morning could not find a shopping cart. I went to parking lot - none there and none in store - finally went down the alley where they bring carts into the store to obtain one for my 80 year old mother to use. I had to request to speak with manager to request more carts for the other elderly women standing in the entry way of Walmart. I can see way Walmart's profits might be down if you can't even get a cart! Selection and variety of items seem to be lacking. I wanted to purchase an electric water heater they had 1 in the entire store. Also difficult to determine prices on various items as well. read more

I try to avoid the place as much as possible (hey, I managed to not go to a single one on my road trip through the SW!) but my friend who picked me up from the airport wanted to make this stop here because she needed a bright yellow bra. There's even a craft section which I have ransacked before for buffalo snow and ribbon. Oh looky, self-check out stands. Erm, they take cash? Cool? Wait, how does this work? Here's a recap of one of my experiences here: I hesitantly talk myself into running in and getting some female necessities. My last words were "how bad could it be?" I walked in and walked straight out. I was having a panic attack. Sounds a bit dramatic I know but why must Walmart embody the ghetto?? I hate all Walmarts to begin with, ALL of them, but I needed a gift card and I was not going to go to the most ghetto of them all in panorama city so we decided to come here. First bad no, no. I waited 15 mins for the bathroom to be cleaned for to still walk into a $hitty toilet stall ( literally), after I quickly did my business and left I guess this was an okay Walmart, the 3 stars are the customers are better, the staff is very friendly and they have a McDonald's. I was in the area visiting family and this was a on the way home...this particular Wal-Mart has great and easy freeway access from the I-210. But please just take all Wal-Mart stores at face value....great prices and most of the time, very unkempt aisles and shopping areas. It is place where people go to get the lowest prices for your everyday items. It you want cleaner, better service and product....then go to Target. I can easily give Wal-Mart a five star rating for it's prices, but two stars for it's consistancy of unclean and unkempt stores. Oh well.....three stars is just fine for what it is. :-p read more

Recent travel plans found us searching online and local stores for luggage in specific colours. Unfortunately, Walschwitz had the two colours we adore and noone else had them. We reluctantly ordered the set from their online store 2 WEEKS AGO. We leave Friday morning and Walschwitz still has not received our luggage. "One Hour Photo" at this location is a complete lie. Not only do they have to ship out your film, (which takes at least 5 days,) they WILL NOT GIVE YOU YOUR NEGATIVES. Additionally they will not allow you to purchase a CD of your prints unless you purchase physical prints as well. Finally, the staff is generally rude at worst, and apathetic about your patronage at best. If your value yourself, your community, and/or your photography and film, please go elsewhere. read more

Pros: Love the prices here- like 30% less then competition at Target. Have a great variety of cereal, produce, baking goods, dairy etc. Great PJ's for the kids! Cons: 8 out of ever 10 shopping carts are lopsided and make a thud, thud, thud sound and vibration, especially if you try to put a kid in one. The store lighting seems a big dark.
