This is the Wal-Mart in my neigborhood. I don't shop here. The last time I was in the store was to do a teacher night at the McDonalds located in the store. That was fun, but the Wal-Mart part of the store is disorganized and not very clean. Lots of traffic, though, so they must please some people. Years ago our daughter went to college in a tiny town in Oregon. Wal-Mart was the only place to shop so we went there quite often when we visited. I preferred driving a ways to Fred Meyer. I love shopping at Walmart but however this Walmart most of their employees customer services is horrible! Having customers wait over 30 mins for someone to come to Jewlery and wasted their time because No one even came! Asked if an employee there can help page for someone to come and their reply was, "Oh I don't have a phone," Like really you work there!? What that employee should have said was a simple, "One second, I'll grab a CSM or someone to page them for you." Just frustrating when it seems like theres no one working there! I went to my local Walmart store today(west Shaw in Fresno Ca) to turn in a convertible car seat. I was told that it "wasn't a car seat." I explained that, yes, it is, but was turned away. They said since it could be used as booster (only if you remove the straps and buckle and mine was intact) that it wasn't able to be turned in. I tried to explain the difference and what the website states, but was not listened to at all, unfortunately. Not a huge deal but the employees are uninformed as this is not the offered advertised. They were telling customers that only infant seats would be accepted and that is absolutely untrue. We waited for about fifteen min after pressing the botton. Some other customer came after us waited. The employee came look at me up and down (i am asian) as i was standing at the counter in sporting good . He then look at the other customer and started talking to her. helped her and left. What can I say about this Walmart. I am only giving you my impression about it, as I have been to other Walmart's, and have enjoyed my experiences there. I did enjoy my trip here to this Walmart, but I did find out a few things about this Walmart. If you come here you will find some interesting stuff, if you are going to different stores in the area, you will find other things different here. An example of what I am talking about, I came here to get my son some more pants. I have been able to find them at some stores, but sometimes not at others just depending on inventory levels. I happen to be here for a short trip and needed to gather some items, like water and snacks, which going to Walmart is always an adventure. The people is what makes the adventure funny, and this Walmart does not disappoint. The store could be clearer overall, but I know it is not only the employees that need to make this happen, it is the customer that need to take some of the responsibilities on this. Waited 40 mins for grocery pickup and called three times!!!!! After the third call they told me that I never checked in! Absolutely awful! This should never happen! Besides having to call I stopped some of the employees while they were loading other cars to ask them about my order and they all said to call. Placed a pick up order. Missing a item. Called to claim missing item. No one is picking up the phone. This is not the first time I have placed an order in this store. There is always an issue! Customer service is always horrible at any Walmart. Wanted to try on some clothes so we waited at the fitting room counter. Walmart associates were talking as we are standing waiting for help one walks away and the other turns to look at us and walks away to continue putting clothes on the racks. When we asked for assistance she went and got the same associate she was talking to earlier to tell him he was suppose to be working the fitting rooms but he said he didn't know. I do not have a price that gives the right to anyone to mistreat myself or my family. The associates walking the store are rude and have no interest in helping a customer. The people pulling the carts around putting online orders together seem to have a real attitude problem, often walking out of their way to block me, stop me or attempt to get me to move out of the way for them. A large majority of people at this location need to be trained on how to interact with people while at work. I am not asking for anything other than a mutual respect of social distancing and the ability to work with each other while maneuvering through the store. Why do you feel the need to glare at me and go out of your way to block me? Unfortunately the actions of these people are reflecting the entire store. At the end of my shopping today which got cut short because I was tired of dealing with the employees I even asked to speak with someone up front respectfully so that they could work with the employees to help them be more efficient,, safe and polite. I was told I could go wait in line at customer service and they would call someone for me. This person then continued to clean counters. There was no one else checking out and she was not watching me. It just comes down to being lazy. I eventually talked to a person who claimed to be a manager but did not wear a manager name badge. The person I spoke with said they would talk with them but today is not the first time I have had this problem. I just give the opportunity to fix it before I post negative reviews. There are much better ways for me to aquire any and everything that Walmart offers whether it be online or in person. All of the places I am thinking of have been treating me better than the employees here. I should include that of course not EVERY employee was rude. There was one lady that was very nice infact. Everyone else was so shockingly rude though that the review could not go up. The actions appeared intentional at some times.This review has nothing to do with cost or quality of product. Well... there are some good days and a lot of bad days at Walmart. There are some employees that are very nice, others not so much or just clueless. This place doesn't have adequate service when it comes to checking out or finding help in the store. You could wander around awhile looking for help. Even if you do find an employee, you didn't necessarily find help either. I come here often enough to not just pass my experience last night as a one off. I went to the paint department to get some spray paint. I looked to see if they had what I wanted first before requesting assistance. The spray paint shelves are all locked so you need somebody to come and open them up. While I was looking, two other people came by needing spray paint as well. Even after asking for help several times no one came by. One female employee came by giving us false hope saying she'd call somebody else who could open it with the key. She walked by several minutes later and we were still waiting so she said she'd call again. Waited somewhere between 10-15 minutes to get them to finally open it. After i gathered my items i went to the pick up station and the associate there scanned my order. I told her i was going to pay for my items and i would meet them outside. It toojmk me all of 5 minutes to scan and pay for everything. I went outside assuming i would have a little bit of a wait and to my surpise they were outside with my item and loaded it into my van. I'm from Sacramento, so I don't know if all Walmarts in Fresno are just *this* much worse than the low-standard I'm use to or if it was just this particular store. From the reviews, I gather this store takes the crap cake. First time my husband and I tried to go here, we make it about 5 feet in the door, and a worker very rudely tells us they are closed. It was almost 15 minutes after the hour, so if they were closed, why did they still have their doors open?? (Also, I'm not used to Walmarts closing so early, but I'm sure that's a city difference.) Second time we came back, we found the store completely disorganized. No one offered us any help, even though there were plenty of workers just standing around talking. They did not carry a product I regularly buy from Walmart. When we went to check out, there actually was a cashier available to help us, but she was awful. Our three items rang up about $40 more than expected. I asked how could that be and the cashier monotoned "This is $49." That package of flea medication (along with every other package of it) had been marked wrong or put in the wrong place on the aisle. When we informed the cashier and told her they should fix their stock in the aisle, she had zero response. She basically acted as if we hadn't said anything. Then, I misread the new total on the screen once the flea meds had been taken out, so I didn't give her the correct change. Instead of repeating the actual amount or saying anything, she just stared at me. I had no idea why she was staring at me; I just thought it was her zombie-way. Finally my husband spoke up and clarified the amount for me. The cashier's silent stare was one of my most bizarre experiences with a Walmart worker, and I've had Walmart workers put my reusable bags inside plastic bags ... Not to mention, this was by far the ugliest, homeliest Walmart I've ever seen. Just bad all around. read more

Have you ever actually tried buying 8 tab clear index dividers at walmart? its like looking for a unicorn, practically impossible. They have the 5 tab clear ones but thats it. If I could give no stars, I would. Bought a discounted canopy from the camp section. Mind you, they lock the tents and the canopy's to the shelf itself. Now knowing that: we got a worker to help and then waited for someone to come unlock it. Okay all is fine and dandy until the next day when we took it out to bass lake and set it up only to discover that there was bird shit all over the top of the canopy AND RIPS IN SEVERAL CORNERS. Clearly showing that someone had used it, returned it, and then Walmart proceeded to restock it back on the shelf. Only to trick the customer into thinking that it's simply "on sale". Upon returning it and explaining the situation, the workers look at us like we're crazy. Now fast forward a week or two: We go back to that same section and buy another discounted canopy..... sadly we did not learn our lesson. BECAUSE IT WAS USED ‍‍‍ No written indication in the product that it was returned or anything. In fact came off looking brand new. Until we opened it and saw pink and purple tassels hanging from each pole. Luckily it had no wear n tear damage. Just ridiculous ballon strings everywhere. I don't normally use profanity in my reviews, but ffffffuuuuuucccccckkkkk this Walmart. I had ordered some photos to be printed at this location, when I arrived several hours later to pick them up, I had to stand at the counter for 30 minutes to wait for someone to shuffle over and help me out. One clerk came by 5 or 6 times saying "someone will be with you shortly, he is just helping out another customer!" Man, if only one dude can come work the photo counter, maybe you should go over and take care of the customer while your associate comes and helps out what is now a line of 15 people waiting for him to wander over to us! I do not shop at Walmart often but the item I was looking for was out of stock at Target. Their pickup center is horrible & the other associates are of no help either. I placed an order for pickup on Sunday after 4PM so it said it would be ready the next day. I waited most of next day to get a confirmation that it was ready for pick up. Nothing. So I decided to call the store. Well to no surprise the pickup center did not answer any of my calls I tried 5 times. So I decided to try the customer service extension which of course was of no help either. The female who answered said to me "Sorry can't help you, you have to call the pickup center extension" I stated that I had been trying but had no luck. She said "Well that's not my job sorry can't help keep trying". Lesson learned never shopping or ordering from this store again. read more

I really don't like Walmart as it is usually too crowded and messy. But I was on a mission to find some BIG men's clothing; 3X shirt and 48 pants. I'd never purchased anything that large, but this was for a Christmas gift for an anonymous family. For some reason Walmart popped into my head as the place to go, and I was right! Most every rack in the Men's area had the standard sizes, along w/ big men sizes at $2 extra per item. I was able to find a shirt and pair of dress pants for $27 out the door. Never will I come back to this Wal-Mart to have my photos developed. "1 Hour Photo", huh? Should be, "1 Hour Photo + 10 minutes + 10 minutes + 15 minutes". I took pictures during vacation using my Nikon camera - straight from Japan when my family was still living there. It uses film rolls, not these new SD cards or whatever they're called. The last time I had photos from this camera developed was about a year ago at a concession mall on a US military base. When I first got to the counter, the staff seemed nice and seemed to know what they were doing. Well, I was wrong. The guy assisting me said to come back in 45 minutes and my pictures would be ready. No problem for me since I could buy whatever I needed and come back. An hour passed so I decided to come back. I spoke to the guy assisting me with my photos and he told me that after 10 more minutes, I would get my photos. Once again, fine by me since I did take 72 photos, which is quite a bit. Alas, 10 minutes actually passed so I come back and asked for my photos. Guess what he told me? After waiting for more than an hour, the guy tells me that almost ALL of my photos came out BLANK. He said I was shooting blanks and that there is something wrong with my camera. You're joking right? It's not my camera with the problem. It works perfectly fine. Why didn't he tell me about the blanks earlier? He waited for more of my pictures to turn out blank! After telling him that I use this camera carefully and sparingly (only when I'm on vacation), he says, "Oh, our machine was down earlier - the rest of your photos are being developed now." What photos? You're showing me blank negatives! System down? Oh, c'mon! Another 10 minutes of waiting for whatever else I get; ended up waiting an extra 5 minutes. As I waited, I see him, another worker, and the manager glancing at me from time to time. They knew I was extremely angry and all they could do was act like nothing happened. The manager, who is obviously in charge, doesn't do anything but chat. What use is she if all she does is talk and walk around? An elderly couple was having their photos developed as well; film not SD card. They, too, were having the same problem as I was with the same guy that "assisted" me. When the guy "helping" me told the elderly man that his photos are also blank, he said exactly this: "Wow, this only happens once in a lifetime. I can't believe it..." I wasn't the only one having problems that day. When my photos were done, more blank negatives come out, but 9 actually printed; 3 had damages to the picture so technically 6/72 photos came out perfect. Extremely disappointing. My memories from my vacation were gone and nothing could fix it. Since 9 photos came out printed, I still had to pay around $2 for whatever came out fine. The staff here did not apologize after I payed; the long extended wait, damaged pictures, blank pictures, everything. I'm guessing they don't care. When I payed, the guy "helping" me acted like nothing happened and carried on with whatever he was doing. Out of the 11 years that I had my photos from this camera developed in Japan/on-base, never have I encountered a problem like this. When I come home to California, that's when I have this problem. Really disappointing. From now on, I will have my photos developed at a business dedicated to developing photos; not at Wal-Mart. I try to avoid saying things like this but this experience is, by far, the worst I have encountered. It really ruins my day each time I think about it. read more

Short story: horrible service This is my first review on yelp. This is not a victim story or pity party just sharing the poor experience I had. To give you the backdrop: I recently moved to Chico. I got out of Chico due to the poor air quality from the recent fires. The previous night I got almost no sleep(my own fault, just the facts) and today I worked all day in Sacramento. Needless to say it was a long day and I hoped it wouldn't end with someone being so unhelpful when I was trying to make a quick stop and get some sleep ASAP. I left Sacramento after work and arrived in Fresno(where I will be working the rest of the week) around 10:00 PM. I used the app Waze for directions to my Airbnb. I looked up a Walmart off of my route and was brought to a Walmart that had moved. No biggie. So I searched the new address on the sign they had posted on the front of the old building. It said I was already there...They didn't update the pin to their new location so even though the address I entered was correct it was not taking me to the new location. So I call the number provided and a lady answers. I tell her I'm at the old location and can't find the new spot because it says I'm already at the new spot when I'm clearly not. She tells me they moved(duh) and begins explaining how to get there with landmarks. I'm not familiar with the area so that doesn't help me out. I politely try to interject and let her know I'm not sure where raleys or Taco Bell are and that when I search the new address it tells me I'm already here. She continues trying to give me landmarks and doesn't listen to a word I said. I try a second time to simply state that the gps is not accurate wondering if I'm missing something here? She then says okay hold on in an annoyed tone and puts me on hold then proceeds to hang up instantly. Very helpful and kind of her. This is why she works at Walmart. She treats people like a nuisance when they ask for help. This why she will probably always work at Walmart. She can't even do her job let alone go above and beyond to improve her situation. I rarely shop at Walmart because of its trashy reputation. This low life certainly lived up to it. She sounded like a middle aged black woman. Race, age, gender all besides the point but maybe someone at the store knows who she is and will at the very least help her figure out what decent customer service is. Walmart=trash read more

This is the worst Walmart ever, it is very dirty. I called reported the dirty counter tops and received a call a few days later from a manager. He apologized for the dirty counter tops at the check out and stated he will have the cashiers clean them from time to time. I went back weeks later to find the same dirty counter tops with milk on them; the same place you have to place your clothes. The workers are often seen spot mopping and fanning the spot.... Really.
