I've always loved this Walmart. It's gotten me through a lot of hard times. Grocery's, snacks, and other cheap stuff to get me through life.

Do NOT use Same Day Delivery!!…read more I ordered a Same Day Delivery to my door, to save me a trip on bad roads. Got an email last night saying it was delivered. It was NOT delivered to my door. I'm currently staying in a campground so I guessed the driver had ignored my site # (and directions) and just dropped it at the office, since it was still open at the time. Went by the office today for pick up and turns out it was NOT delivered there either! Went to Canadian Tire in Grande Prairie to find out what happened. Was told since they use 3rd parties to deliver I was out of luck, maybe check with the 3rd party! Asked for a manager. While waiting, I heard one of them say it was the 3rd delivery order this week with issues!! Manager (and CORPORATE) were more concerned with who the driver was! LikeI would know that! In THEIR system the order was picked up last night and is STILL IN TRANSIT I asked for a refund so I could purchase the items I had ordered again, since I need them now and not later. Yet because I got the email from THEM with my receipt last night, saying it was delivered, they won't refund me! Told me CORPORATE would need to connect with the driver himself before they could do that! I said that if the driver kept my order he's going to say he delivered it and they said he'll have to show proof with pictures...if not they can LOOK AT refunding Have any of you ever seen a DoorDash driver take pictures after delivering?! Asked how long this will take and was told "no idea". So now, not only did I have to come out on the bad roads, I do not have the items I needed TODAY AND I'm probably out $200!

When I picked up my truck they had installed the tires backwards. I asked for them to re install them which they agreed to. I made a 4:30 appointment and again stressed that I needed to have time to drive the 50km and have them retorqued the same day as I leave for work before they open and put on hundreds of km a day. Again they said it would be 1.5 hours maximum. The woman at the counter stressed how important it was to get tires torqued as her dads fell Off after driving 90km and not getting them retorqued. I said I'd have to take a cab there so to call me with ample time to get there and be able to go for a 50km drive before they closed at 7. Again they said not a problem. They called me at 6:30 and I again stressed that I needed them retorqued today knowing I wouldn't have time to cab there, drive 50 km and be back there before 7 when they closed. When I reminded her of this she basically said it wasn't her fault, and no apology was made. When I reminded her she just told me her dads tire had fallen off at 90km and that I wouldn't be able to be there tomorrow as I had already take them time Off work today (which they promised would be enough to include a retorque). This place is a joke and she has now put me in danger not once but twice. The worst customer service I have ever experienced and she told me what would happen if I didn't get them torques and then didn't keep the promise of making the time to get them done today. I am extremely pissed off and feel as though they have put me in an unsafe situation. Do better. Don't scare your clients to come back and then not allow them to after you promised you would ensure it got done today.

Upon returning to the Prairie mall after a 10 year absence from Grande Prairie, I thought back to…read morewhen I first started going there 16 years ago and realized that while much has changed...even more has really stayed the same. The place feels very modular... like they shipped each wing of the mall in a crate and then cobbled together in a disjointed fashion.. Ie the south wing has an entirely vibe and feel than the north... At least on the north side they got rid of Zellers and put a Target in there. Although I'm not so sure how successful the Target will be, since it has a LOT of competition in the area... Also while Zellers had many faults, it's location in the mall was another nail in its coffin since that area is quiet with little foot traffic. Other changes include a whole bunch of new clothing stores (while many of the legacy stores still remain), that all are priced exorbitantly to cater to the oil money so freely flowing in this town, and excluding those of more modest means. The one thing that has never changed is the teenagers that loiter around everywhere and never look up to any good, although I'm well aware than the average GP teenager probably has more disposable income than I do :( Also the parking situation is rather awful, and all the roads around there need a redo.. Access and exit via auto mobile can be quite stressful, especially around peak times.

The Prairie Mall is impressive to me, especially for the size of Grande Prairie. It has some…read moretrendier stores (ie. Aeropostale, la senza, etc) and some that cater to the older crowd, which is appropriate for the demographic. Personally I never shop at the Zellers in Edmonton, but the one is much more tolerable. And really- where else are you going to go? They do pictures with Santa which is great. There's lots of signs of community outreach- you can really tell that this is the PRAIRIE mall, not a mall just run by big corporations.

This store has improved a lot over the years, but they still do some things which are such pet…read morepeeves of mine, that it generally discourages me from wanting to shop there. First for the good things: Nice clothing section, wide variety of international foods that are hard to find elsewhere in town, good produce section, parking is relatively easy.. My pet peeves: Needing a loonie or toonie to get a shopping cart. For a population that is rapidly advancing in the digital age, few people bother with cash anymore. And even those that do, aren't always going to have loonies or toonies immediately on hand. This has put me off many an impromptu shopping stop at Superstore, as I mainly use plastic and don't feel like having to go stand in line at customer service and embarrassingly have to ask for change like a panhandler. I mean most supermarkets, especially in the US, use digital/magnetic perimeters outside their parking lots so that shopping cart wheels lock when someone tries stealing one...why you'd require your customers to carry a coin purse in order to do any significant amount of shopping in your store is beyond me. Secondly, they don't take AMEX.. every other chain grocery store does.. so whats the problem here? More and more people use AMEX every day for purchases because of miles/insurance etc..so what makes Superstore so indifferent? I mean there's even places like Costco that only take AMEX, so that whole excuse about avoiding amex because of pricing is insincere. Lastly, my biggest pet peeve is a grocery store that asks you how many bags you'll need BEFORE all your items are rung up. I mean seriously, this is a no brainer. And by that I mean they have no brains for doing this. How is someone with heaps and heaps of groceries loaded up on their cart supposed to be able to forecast how many bags they'll need? Are Superstore customers now supposed to be psychic, as well as always carrying around change and making sure they don't use AMEX? When they ask me how many bags I'm going to want, the only answer I can think of giving is "as many as I'll need to empty my groceries into... duuh".. This is just plain stupidity on behalf of the store. So if inexplicably none of the above bothers you, then I recommend this store!!

The only thing that doesn't make it 5 stars is the prices are often incorrect in the home section. Countless times we've had to get price checks on stuff like Christmas lights, wrapping paper, laundry hampers, hangers, and stuff like that. Usually it was incorrect stocking of the product in the wrong place or wasn't but in their system. I find the staff is never hesitant to double check though!
