It's a regular Walmart with all the normal Walmart things.... it's not the best Walmart or the worst Walmart ....

wow. Tonight was bad even by Wal Mart standards. When there is a problem at checkout, a store should have enough staff available to assist the cashiers. That is store management 101. I came to this store at 8 p.m. Sept. 12, 2015. Supposedly (because I asked) the management that night consisted of someone named "AJ" and someone named "Dani." Spelling is iffy on that one. I came SPECIFICALLY for a 16 pound bag of Kit and Kaboodle dry cat food. That's it. Of course, I wandered the store and soon had about $150 worth of goods in my cart. I get to check out. Guess what? The cat food will not scan. The cashier tried her best, putting the numbers in manually. Something was amiss. She put the bag aside to the end. I braced myself for a problem. This is the item I came for! I was completely out at home! And, I KNEW how much the bag was -- but the cashier needed a manager to approve the input. Supposedly, she called for a CSM. no one came She was now finished ringing up all the items in my cart. There is a line behind me. She grabs the bag and takes off through the store, in search of a manager, leaving us all to stand there. She returns. No manager. She says she has called for someone else. By now, a real line has formed, all shooting daggers at me. I tell her "never mind." As I am leaving, a black woman comes from behind a door and SHOUTS over to my cashier that she is busy and cannot assist. I shout back THANKS A LOT. She stares at me. I exit. I loathe Walmart with a seething passion after the experiences I have had recently trying to purchase a straight talk phone. The staff is uneducated. There is much ignorance amongst the staff and pure laziness. Trying to call electronics department is almost impossible, after 10 mins you're lucky if someone picks up the phone. You're gonna be transferred back and fourth from customer service to electronics until someone can't stand hearing the phone rings and decides to answer. If you're lucky they'll tell you the phone you need is in stock. (One time they told me it was but upon arriving at a store an hour out of my way, it was the wrong service provider) tonight tho, they did have the phone in stock. We arrive at the store and they have an employee that's wet behind the ears with his diaper full of shit. He begins to tell us he's not allowed to sell us the phone. After driving 30 minutes to a store (oh we were at 2 different Walmart's earlier in the day attempting to get a phone but they didn't have it in stock)I ask for him to get someone to the counter to over ride this new rule I've never heard of. Eventually 2 more people show up and both listen to the new kid and claim they can't sell the phone because it's a contract. Straight talk isn't a contract. Another person shows up and says they can sell the phone. And then this kid, the new employee, proceeded to tell the other 3 employees that he can't sell unlocked phones either. I asked since when and no one could answer me. My boyfriend insists we leave because I'm about to start throwing gift cards up in the air like confetti. We begin our journey home and I decided to call the Lumberton store and they have the same run around with the phones...eventually Jacob answers and I ask what his thoughts on this are and his response is that they HAVE TO SELL US THE PHONE!!!!! I'm fuming. Currently I have been on hold for 10 mins trying to call them back. Whatever. This company makes 5 billion a fkn day and they can't sell me the fkn no contact phone. I don't get it. I don't expect much going to walmart except for whatever I need will be cheaper than anywhere else. But you definitely get what you pay for in service here. Not one person can tell you where anything is, and that's if you can find anyone actually working. Oh, and if 2 employees are talking about the weekend, it's very rude to interrupt them to ask a question. read more

Really messy, even for a Sat afternoon. Assoc on the floor were reasonably helpful but the cashier was a whole different kind of special. My biggest issue was that apparently at Walmart when u buy any electronic item a protection plan is added automatically. I bought a $35 flashlight and was charged $3 for a warranty I wasnt told about. Luckily I caught it but then it took the cashier 5 min to figure out how to void it off. read more

Unfortunately, it does not even deserve this star. Simply unacceptable. I had to go to the photo center there because my local one (Princeton) did not offer large photo prints. I figured Hamilton is not too far, so I gave it a chance. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Nobody wants to be there, workers or shoppers. They have an entire shelf full of long expired cat food from which I purchased food for my 2 cats. I unfortunately realized it too late. Thankfully, my cats are ok. I went back to the store about a month later. The food was still on the shelf. I had to wait for over an hour to bring it to someone's attention. Everyone passed the buck. Finally, I told a manager. She said she would take care of it. I returned to the store and it was still on the shelf. If your finances give you no other option than to shop there, at least make sure you check the dates on every perishable you buy. read more

This is actually a nice Walmart. Just hate the fact that the lines are long and people are unfriendly (like most other Walmarts). But selection wise and store wise its pretty well kept. read more

Always crowed and messy. You can barely walk through an isle let alone push a cart and shop. Seems staff are always stocking shelves no matter what time of day. Visiting this store sucks the life out of you, go to target, they have organized/ stocked shelves and happy workers. read more

My son received a birthday gift card, or else I wouldn't have gone at this particular time. And, normally, I wouldn't bother to review a national chain because these stores have become a common thread in our society, and we all know what to expect. There are some decent Wal*Marts - I'm not so uptight; I stop in occasionally. Wal*Mart can be convenient for basics like pet food and toilet paper, and I'm always amazed by their fabric selection (if you can find someone able to use a pair of scissors). However, the Wal*Mart at the Hamilton Marketplace is a complete shower of crap. It's a mess, and dysfunctional, and staffed by the disinterested and/or the incapable. While we were there, we heard some terrible wailing, and came to discover it was an unfortunate employee -- a box that was on the top shelf had fallen on her face. Poor girl - she was hurt badly. I hope she's ok. We all know the the visual "People of Wal*Mart" can be scary, but so are "The Sounds of Wal*Mart." If you MUST go to Wal*Mart, it might be worth the drive to go to a different store. Hopefully this place gets its act together. read more

Do not buy anything online from Walmart--they use LASER SHIP for shipping , probably because it is cheap. The deliverers steal the merchandise, I believe, and never deliver. Even if you sign their slip they do not leave merchandise. Until Walmart bans them, I buy no more. read more

I usually have no problem with the store at all, but I just spoke to THE RUDEST individual in the pharmacy department. I understand that pharmacies can get busy, but I was put on hold twice this afternoon, once for 5 minutes and the second for over 3 minutes. Both times I had to hang up because I was at work and could not stay on the line. Anyway, after the third time calling I finally get to speak to an actual person. All he asked for was my date of birth & what prescription I needed refilled. Didn't ask me my first or last name, and when I brought that up to him, he said that he remembers speaking to me a few times. I'm sorry, but usually you want to verify everyone's information regardless if you've spoken to them before or not. I think next time my prescription needs to be refilled, I'll have my doctor call it into a different pharmacy. read more

I have been shopping at this Walmart for years. I love Walmart! I have never noticed it to be messy or dirty. Sometimes it is crowded because it is a very popular store. All Walmarts keep a very tight control on their inventory. This keeps prices low. That's what I like! My encounters with the staff have always been pleasant. read more

This is a hit or miss Walmart. Most often the selves are empty of what I am looking for. Yet, there is always an employee taking up a good part of the aisle stocking shelves. The other part of the aisle is being taken up by folks parking their electric scooters in the middle of the aisle as they check their lists. Or family groups walking 5 abreast down the aisle. I will say if you can find an employee MOST will walk you to the item you are looking for. There are a couple who it is too much of a bother. Yes, some do not speak English. Check out is always a problem. LONG lines and only 1-3 checkers open. Same with self check out. Long lines and always 2-3 machines down. MOST of the check out staff are ok but man when you get one of the bad mood babes you just want to leave the cart and run. And don't mess with the women at the front desk/returns etc. Just don't mess with them. Bathrooms are always in need of cleaning. They exit guys are always nice. I don't know. My husband and I consider our weekly trip to Walmart a real chore and we try to get in and out as fast as we can. read more

My experience for many years has been A-OK until today. I purchased $114.00 worth of merchandise from the store in the Hamilton Marketplace and since most of the items were cosmetics, paper products, and two outfits for my granddaughter size 24 months I threw away the receipt. I realized that at least one bag was left behind at the cashier's station so I called the main number as soon as I realized they were missing. I was told that without a receipt I could not get the bag(s) even if I could identify what the items were in question. I feel that if I returned to the store the same day I could get the bag(s) but according to everyone I spoke with Customer Service repeated - NO RECEIPT - NO BAG. END OF DISCUSSION!!!! I'm sure that the contents of that bag have not been put back on the shelves but now belong to someone else. The person I initially spoke to was trying to be helpful but the individual I spoke with in Customer Service was very abrupt and sounded like I was annoying her. For many years members of my family have given me Walmart Gift Cards and I think in the future I will be asking for another store's card instead. read more

Want to buy something from this Walmart that's out of stock....I hope you like waiting! I agree with most people on these reviews. Staff is rude and they don't know their own policies. They tell you you can't return something, while other Walmarts say. "No problem"! They never, I mean never re-stock something they run out of, and if you happen to catch the one day a year that they do re-stock it, you better get there quick to get one of the 3 items they put back on the shelf. If you want to go to Walmart in the Hamilton area, take the short drive to the Hightstown Walmart, the employees are really nice, and they actually re-stock their shelves! read more

August 31, 2016 I took my car to the Walmart (Store #02518) to get an oil change. When I went to take my car out of lot it was hesitating and not moving at first in reverse. When I drove it it was hesitating and revving extremely high until I got moving a bit. I park my car in another location of the shopping center and continued my school shopping. On the way home it did the same. When I took it out later that day it did the same. In the parking lot I checked the oil and it was extremely over filled. I took it to mechanic across from store I was at and he checked as well. He said I should bring it back to Walmart and speak to manager and not mechanic. When I arrived the mechanic who worked on my car came over and I told him what happened when i drove it and when I checked oil. He checked oil and said it was slightly overfilled. I requested he fix the over filled oil since that was all I knew at time. I went into store and requested to talk to manager. I was told the manager was not in but the supervisor Joshua could help me. When I spoke with him I told him what happened and I requested it in writing the work that was just done to fix oil problem. He refused to give me anything in writing. I requested to speak to store manager and the assistant Tom came over. I explained what happened with my car when I tried to drive it and that I checked the oil after and the results and I wanted it in writing. He had supervisor write me a receipt that the car was brought in and 2 qts of oil was drained from car. When I left parking lot my car continued to slip when I drove. Prior to coming there there was absolutely no problems with my car. I drove it to Superior Automotive who has ASE certified mechanics. I explained the symptoms. They checked oil and it was correct. They then explained that the transmission pan in the Subaru is located where the old pan is and close and a lot of times mechanics who are not familiar with Subarus make this mistake. They checked my transmission fluid and it was completely empty. The mechanic refilled it for me and he stated it took 3 quarts to fill, the exact amount needed on a Subaru. Therefore I was driving my car with no transmission fluid because Walmart totally emptied it. The customer service man at mechanics even knew that. When I brought it back to Walmart they should of checked the transmission fluid when I described the symptoms. I have recored my conversation where I explained to the mechanic and manager the symptoms i had. Any knowledgable mechanic would of checked that. They did not and let me drive off and damage my car. When I called Walmart and spoke with assistant manager he first said he was not the one who spoke with me. This was another lie whereas he later said I did ask the mechanic if he checked the trans. They did not because if they did they should of documented that as well on the receipt I requested. Tom the manager told me he was sure they did and were good mechanics. I am not sure how this was possible whereas he already put two quarts too much oil in my car which is equal to 50% too much. My car burns oil and I just got back from a long trip where I check periodically and refill. This time I decided to go get oil change then refill due to being low. That is why 6 quarts were in it. It was approximately two quarts low already when he refilled with their 4 quarts. Obviously their mechanics are not well trained if they do not know difference between transmission pan and oil pan, nor to check transmission fluid when customer comes back same day and describes how car is driving. I want a full refund on oil change and I want Walmart to pay for my car to be checked by Subaru and for them to pay for any damage related to driving my car with NO transmission fluid and too much oil. read more

Ok, so Walmart policy is you can return purchases with or with out a receipt up to 90 days!! UGH! I guess not in Hamilton...neither the cashier or the manager knew how to do a return if product number wouldn't scan!!! REALLY?!?!
