Just got our membership today and customer service was very nice and helpful. The store was very crowded and there is no order to the checkout lines. Just ppl standing all around so you don't know what line they are on. We get to the register and someone scans our items and tells us to just show the card to the cashier and pay. Ok so I move forward and the cashier tells me the cart goes on the other side. I told her I just have to show my card and she said it doesn't matter that is how it works because ppl can't get through. I have gone to Costco in Morganville, Rt 9 since they opened. Today, 2 days before Christmas and just after Hanukkah, I dared to go in to pick up what I needed. I was happily shocked to see how organized it was in terms of opening up the aisles, the food and other items were distributed well and I wasn't waiting on line forever. It seems one staff is responsible 3 to 4 stations, which they constantly work on transaction, pumping gas, operating keypads, directing and position cars to their stations... as they are very busy, drivers are usually patiently waiting for the staffs to get to them. I guess for the 5-star reason mentioned previously, all drivers are willing to wait...(?) There has been a serious decline in the quality of the products I've purchased from Costco over the last six months. Costco-brand bread that starts to mold before its expiration date, oranges sold rotten inside the package, and Nutella with strange little lumps inside--these are all issues I have personally encountered in the past six months. The last time I contacted Nutella about this, they responded by saying that such problems can occur if the store does not store the product properly. When I took the product to Costco just to inform them, they told me, "We cannot issue a refund for an opened Nutella," even though I had no intention of requesting a refund! The wait is usually long only due to the fact that the media announced at one point, you did not have to have membership. After so many years it's past due for an update. Costo has come a long way in the past few years. covid saw them step up with senior shopping hours, no return on hoarded items and safety protocol s that was well appreciated. I now have to plan my shopping around the gas pumps as they have the least expensive gas around and have caught the eye of just about everyone in the area...so the pumps are jammed all day. Prices have gone up in meats and produce but not like your local grocers, but the selection is still top notch, cheeses was always well represented, and we can't live without their paper products. There is now self-checkout which moves the lines faster, but the food hall is now abbreviated to the point that it's really not worth it unless you're really hungry for a greasy slice or a tepid hot dog, The Italian sausage is still missing and there is no raw onions to jazz up that tepid hot dog. I love shopping at Costco but our local branches could learn a lesson on food court options from our neighbors in Montreal.... Poutine or smoked meat sandwiches anyone? read more

This Costco is always well stocked and for the most part never too crowded. I try to avoid midday on weekends to avoid crowds. Usually there are two people at the registers. One to scan your items and one to pack everything in your cart. This keeps the lines moving well here. With all the construction going on in this lot parking can be a pain. read more

Past few years have been diabolical. The customer service is the worst and there are only 2 employees who are professional and kind. I don't know if it's management, but numerous times, these workers yell at customers. They never smile and are just miserable to be near. These workers have been there for years and so grossly overpaid yet, they are angry. A few months back the gas attendant hit my car door and never even apologized. First off, do yourself a favor and stay as far away from here as possible on the weekends! Sweet mother of God!! I wasn't impressed with this Costco, mostly because it was so crowded. But when I think about it, once you remove the nasty, snarky people, it really wasn't bad. The shelves were full and the isle clear of stuff. They always have great seasonal deals which usually means there is a place for me to sit while my wife does her thing. That makes me happy. I've been a member for over 20 years. Over time I have seen Costco do more "smoke and mirrors " then ever before. I can sight many examples but the most recent ones are ; Earthbound Farms mixed greens exp. Date of November 24, 2023. To my surprise it was mostly cheap baby spinach. If I wanted spinach I would have bought spinach. My wife and I came with a list is standard Costco items and at least 5 items were "out of stock " even checked with Costco employees of which very few were available. We bought a new large screen LG tv from Costco.com. The screen was cracked out of the box. We waited 6 days to get the cracked screen tv. Costco eventually made good on it but it took 8 days to get the new tv along with st least 7 phone calls. The produce, meat, and fish prices have been doing the "slow creep " on prices when the items are in stock, particularly produce. We almost always have to go to Shoprite to fill in for the missing items which are priced pretty close to Costco. S While I'm not the biggest fan of Shoprite, their sales are always better than Costcos prices The monthly sales brochure Costco sends out has thinned out quite a bit over time as well. Gasoline is always a bargain but since I'm retired, a tank lasts quite some time. I ordered a very expensive range from Costco. Almost $4k with taxes. It was supposed to be delivered Aug 2. Costco cancelled delivery with no explanation or new date. This morning, I got a text message from Costco saying the delivery was coming TODAY at 2:00. We scrambled to get the old appliance disconnected, per Costco instructions. The new appliance never arrived. I called customer service and was told that the earliest the appliance can arrive is Aug 14. The CSR said she didn't know why I received the text and had no authority to help me other than to apologize and schedule the delivery. I love Costco. I grew up near the one in Wayne and spent the last 10 years near the one in Edison, so I guess I never knew all Costco's don't have booze. This Costco has no booze. Selection here had all the hits of any Costco- lots of drinks, TP, paper towels... the pre-made Costco food like the stuffed peppers, chicken rollers, pizza. I saw a pre-made taco dinner that looked ok. 2 separate coolers, 1 for veg and 1 for eggs/dairy. I noticed that the Edison Costco catered to the Jewish/Kosher and Indian/Korean communities with some ethnic offerings. I didn't really see anything like that down here, but I think the ethnic makeup around these parts are different. Not really sure, just moved to the area, but the shoppers seemed mostly white. On Presidents day they had free samples, which I usually only see on weekends so that was nice. My only complaints were the lines were SLOW and there were not as many. I got a box of Cheerios that was supposed to be a 2 pack and my brussel sprout package ripped open as I was checking out, so I didn't bother waiting for a runner to go get way too many Cheerios or replace my sprouts. The food court section here was tucked in and smaller than Edison. I did not like they layout at all. But yea, you want a Costco... this is a Costco. read more

She told me to pick up a ink refill at 4:30PM. When I went at 4:20, none of them were filled. She then told me 30 minutes. Great costco. Larger of the costco stores in the area - newer too. Has optical, pharmacy and gasoline. Gas hours are 6am Monday - Saturday till 9:30 Friday and 8 Saturday. Sunday it's 7 to 7. Gas prices are cheap. Avoid rush hour to get gas. Today I am here at 5pm on a Sunday and I didn't wait at all Inside costco at this time also was not crowded. It was actually very nice. Big corporations store that needs to teach its employees some manners. Got to the cashier and had the unfortunate pleasure to have Maryann F, ring me out. Forgot my membership card so I had a temporary paper. She grabbed the paper out of my hands and took a deep sigh and said," Oookaaaayyyy" seemed like she was annoyed that I didn't have my membership card. Smile for one thing and two, say hello. She kept rushing through everything she rung up. And came across an item and said ," we don't sell this butter like this we sell it in a two pack. Why do you have one? " Instead of asking me if I wanted to grab a proper pack she just said I couldn't buy it. It's not my fault that I pulled one tub of butter out of the fridge. Then when it was all said and done and I had to pay, she just told me my total and started to move on to the next costumer. I ended up using a master card not knowing that Costco doesn't except it. The payment was not authorized and she started catching an attitude with me cause I wouldn't move fast enough for her ?
