Spoke with Alexis and was absolutely dissatisfied with service. She was terrible, completely unprofessional and extremely poor telephone etiquette. I called three times all three time I spoke with Alexis. The first call I was put on hold for 10 minutes & then hung up on. The second call I asked to speak with management again I was asking questions and in the middle of speaking to her she puts me on hold without saying anything just cuts me off line hangs up. The third call I asked for management again she tells me their with another customer. I asked whose the manager on duty was advised manager on duty is Gordon. I asked how many managers on site she stated one. I asked for someone of authority or perhaps a supervisor she gives me attitude and tells me their on break. I ask how many supervisor's are on duty she says one. I'm seeking additional help and she doesn't even bother to assist me. I tried to explain the trouble but she cuts me off raising her voice telling me it's not her job. I told her I was going to report to BBB she says okay and hangs up on me! Alexis was absolutely no help, completely rude, and unprofessional. She didn't even try to help me. Even when I asked for her name she was smug about it. What kind if service is that? Does the company not encourage their employees to be courteous or have basic customer service skills? This the absolute worst service I've experienced. I can't imagine the kind of service portrayed from her on behalf of the company on the actual store floor to other customers. Definitely wouldn't recommend after this horrific experience. read more

I could not be more disappointed with Kapolei Walmart's service. I tend to enter through the garden section since majority of the items I would get are located near the garden. Upon entering the building, the lady who checks the receipts on the way out, stops me and asks if she can see in my purse (which is a regular purse...nothing suspicious in my opinion) and I told her no. She doesn't respond to my puzzled face and I end up walking away, thinking that was the weirdest thing. The only thing I needed from Walmart was Burt's Bee's chapstick and a calculator I needed for school. Walking towards the beauty section, I took the long way since Walmart employee's large restocking wagons literally blocked aisle ways...um safety hazard! Looking in the lotion section and there was no chapstick, so I asked one of the employees that was restocking the area. She heard me ask politely if there was any Burt's Bee's chapstick in the cart, looked at me and looked down to continue to restock. I was like ok...be calm Laura, maybe she couldn't speak English well. I start rummaging through one of the three filled carts in the aisle way and she pulls the cart away from me like I was a child getting scoldings for something I wasn't supposed to touch. At this point I'm about to loose it, so screw the chapstick I can get it at Longs. Next stop was the calculator. Same thing on the way there...all the friken carts were blocking the aisle ways. I get to the supplies aisle and what do you know...NO CALCULATOR either. No employee is around the area so I walk my happy butt to the technology section hoping someone could help me. Two people were working in the area, a younger girl helping a lady with her cell phone purchase and an older gentleman on his personal iPhone. I waited for a good several mins before he acknowledged my existence. When he asked if I needed help, I asked him if he could do an inventory check for me. He busts out a electric scanner device and asks me what the item was, I told him it was a calculator and said the model name. He responds by telling me, "What? Calculator? No, you have to go to stationary for that." I tell him that no one was in the area. He ignores me halfway through my explanation to talk to another passing employee. After his brief conversation ends with the other employee he busts out his personal phone to look on the Walmart website for the calculator model. He shows me on the phone that Walmart doesn't carry that calculator, even though I clearly saw the tag on the shelf. After he is arguing with me whether or not Walmart Kapolei carries this model calculator, he agrees to walk over to the shelf with me several mins later. I show him the exact spot, he scans the tags and responds, "Nope, in transit." I ask him what does that mean, and he goes, "Any day now" and just walks away. WTF?! I could not explain to you the epic rage that came over me after such crappy service from everyone I came into contact with. I ended up walking out 20 minutes later without anything that I came in for and pissed off more than usual. Out of the 100+ Walmart's that are closing nationwide, this Walmart should be one of them. That or get better service cause you lost my business. Before going home, I decided to make a pit stop at this Walmart on the day of their grand opening. The parking lot is huge! The entrance reminds me of Costco's but bigger! & the garden area is amazing; It's not in the parking lot ! (Kunia, you know I'm talking about you!) I have to say it's the same as any other walmart, it's identical to Pearl City's WalMart with just a broad selection of products to choose from. Being a mom, I look for the baby and kids section first & I have to say that I absolutely love it! They have more sandals and shoes for babies and toddlers; More variety of baby essentials and other stuffs. They also have A LOT of craft materials for all you crafters out there. I won't go into detail about every section but I have to say I am so happy there is a bigger and better Walmart and my side of the island. read more

Came to Walmart to get a few things, but the wife saw a game she wanted and it was displayed in the show case. So we asked if we could get it, and a clerk helped out. We got as far to the cash register and suddenly we get a run around waiting 20 minutes because they couldn't ring up a game. So we waited and then a manager came and said I'm not to sure why but let me ask a higher up. So we waited.....and waited.... and then they said oh! We're not supposed to sell it until tomorrow. I've been looking for a comment/remark form to fill out at the store and can't find one. Glad I thought of yelp. This is the newest Walmart on the island, but it's the dirtiest from before you walk in the door the entrance is dirty. The shelves inside are always empty, no matter what you're looking for. They have more workers taking breaks every time I go there, than inside putting merchandise on the shelves. The McDonald's workers are very courteous, but the place is filthy. The soda area is always dirty with rubbish and soda all over the counter and the trash can is always overflowing. I stopped in at the Kunia Walmart after not going there for a while since this one opened and this one is closer to my house. The Kunia location is more organized and have more merchandise to choose from. I think I'm going back to Kunia. read more

This review is purely for their customer service via phone. In all honesty, I have never had worst customer service over the phone ever. For the first time ever, I'd give this Walmart negative stars. Let me make it known that I called to get a price and quantity. I have never had more worst customer service experience via phone ever. Let it be known that I had called two other Walmart locations regarding a price and quantity check for a Canon ELPH 180 in the quantity of 6 and they had no issue with verifying the price from their online and in store price. They also had no issue with confirming the number of items they had in stock. The first two locations I called only had 2 and 1 of the camera is stock. I then proceeded to call the Kapolei location. After being transferred the phone rang until it rang back and the receptionist who originally answered the phone. She transferred me again and for the second time, rang back to the original person to answered the phone. She said she was going to check on the photo department and put me on hold. After 5 mins of this horrible phone tag I finally got through to Photo. I asked a lady associate if I could get a stock check on a camera she then put me on hold and transferred me to a man, WARREN. Warren was very unfriendly and seemed like he hated that he needed to be on the phone with a customer. This is how the conversation went: Me: "Hi can I get a stock and quantity check" Warren: "A what?" Me: "A stock check" Warren: "And you're calling from...*says Company name of Caller ID*?" Me: "Yes" Warren: "And you want a stock check?" Me: "Yes" Warren: "Okay for what?" Me: "A Canon ELPH 180. I need 6" Warren: "Hold." Warren: "Okay I have the camera" Me: "How many?" Warren: "Well, I have to tell you I have 1. I may or may not have more, I can't tell you that information." Me: "You can't tell me if you have more then 1? I wanted to purchased 6 and the other Walmart's had no problem with tell me the quantity they had." Warren: "The other Walmart's weren't suppose to do that but it's company policy that I can't tell you how many I have in stock. I can tell you that I can't sell you 6" Me: "Okay, thank you." This entire phone conversation got me completely aggravated and irritated. As soon as I hung up I ATTEMPTED to call back THREE times and speak to a manager. EACH time I called and requested the next available manager I got put on hold then hung up one. ALL THREE TIMES. This got me even more furious. Walmart Kapolei is in serious need of proper phone required and how to handle stock checks with customer. I have personally worked in retail and never heard of a policy that restricted an associate with giving a stock check. I also have never encountered a more unhappy employ with servicing a customer on the phone OR have been hung up multiple times when requested to speak to a manager. Is this how Walmart Kapolei runs their business? My experience makes me not want to bring my business to Walmart and made me feel like I had no value of a customer. In all honesty, Warren's tone of voice made me feel stupid for ask for a stock check. Warren should be fired if his attitude reflects how to he values work and customers. read more

I always go here for the convenience of the location. My rating is based on my experience of customer service. Almost always, there's no one to help me when I need it. And when i do get help, they're a bit rude about it or they don't know how to answer my question. They need to work with their employees on providing better customer service. read more

Went Wal Mart this a.m. looking for a vitamin. Asked a pharmacy person for assistance in where I could find it and she pointed where I could find it. Kapolei Walmart terrible always out of stock alot of items is locked up in glass cases with no customer services in the departments, cashiers look piss off and customer service very unprofessional I witnessed an employee wanting to fight with a customer at customer service section due to a disagreement on returning something from electronics, customer was explaining herself and this employee was taking it too personal and started calling her out to fight. I could not believe I was watching this as I was standing there with my Wagon waiting for my kids to get there order from McDonald's . Also when your leaving Walmart there is a long line just to get out of the store because we have to show proof of receipts. Bottom line: The only reason to shop at this Walmart is if it's the only place open or it offers some rare item that is only available at Walmart. Otherwise, save yourself from getting ripped off and go to Target down the road. Reason for the update: I finally came across the idiocy of not price matching their OWN website. I'm not sure if you know this or not, but Walmart will NOT pricematch their own website walmart.com. Target will not only pricematch their own website but will pricematch competitors (at least they stated they will do this for 2013). 1. I found a Bissell Spotbot cleaner (model#78R5) at the Kapolei Walmart for $158.00 2. I checked the walmart.com website and it sells for $138.84 3. I spoke with the manager "Ruta" and she said that Walmart doesn't pricematch because I am paying a "convenience fee" of getting the item immediately instead of waiting for it to be shipped to me. What a line of crap that is. "Convenience fee"? What is this, Ticketmaster? 4. Here is another kick in the shorts: walmart.com does NOT OFFER STORE PICKUP for this product...even though the item is clearly IN THE STORE...So, I can't order it at walmart.com and pick it up at the store. What kind of shenanigans is this?! 5. My only options if I want to purchase this item from Walmart are to either: 1) Pay roughly $20 more +tax as a "convenience fee", or 2) Wait two weeks and pay $138.84 for it online to have it shipped to my house for free. This location gives you plenty of ammo for people of Walmart posts. I did just find out last week that they are no longer open 24 hours which was surprising. I thought all locations were. When shopping at Walmart my expectations are never super high but they have a huge variety of things here. This is my go-to Walmart since I live in the area but I seriously wish they were 24/7!!! It sucks they close at 1am I think. Bummmmmer. But this Walmart is clean and everything is usually organzied and easy to find. But I feel like I never see workers on the floor. So when I do need help, its a struggle and a waste of time bc I end up asking a worker near the cashiers. Where are yall???? Lol. I come here to rent DVDs at redbox too. Theres 2 machines (awesome) at the customer service section, right when you enter. As a Kapolei resident I had mix feelings about the new Walmart. For starters they changed all the roads and added yet another busy intersection which totally is not awesome. However I now have a Walmart all of 2 minutes away from me and I just cannot hate on that. I am a Hawaii resident and therefore spend almost all my paycheck on either gas or rent so Walmarts consistent low prices are always a mommys best friend :) The parking seems a bit confusing, but plentiful as there is even parking on the Garden side. I went after midnight as its a custom for me and the mister to enjoy late Walmart nights. It was empty even for the first night which was nice. When you walk in it looks sorta just like the Pearl City location with a warehouse feel, not at all what I was expecting. The prices seem to be the same as the other near by Walmarts which is nice. The layout is different and once you go around you can slowly figure out where this and that department is. I didnt get to peek too much in the grocery isle so I am unsure if they have fresh foods. All in all its like your typical Walmart. Which means yes, this momma will be back! read more

I give the customer representative one star because of the way she treated me. I went to Walmart Kapolei to return some floodlight light bulbs. The customer service person sure was giving me a hard time since I did not have my receipt and wasted my time trying to get her manager involved because she thought the light bulbs looked used... she sure represented the store badly. She finally came to her senses and gave me a refund but made me feel like she was doing me some sort of favor "...I'll let it go this time...". Gee, the store policy says "...happily refund with or without a receipt..." guess she missed the memo. I am appalled at the way she treated me. I think she needs more training in the customer service part of her job or put her in the back where she does not have to interact with customers. read more

Horrible! Shelves are so low stocked its almost pointless to shop there. Unless you need vitamins or food, everything else pretty much "is on the way, should be in by 2 weeks".. the floor associates are useless. Never fails, everytime i ask for help they know nothing. We walk around the store trying to find the item I asked for help finding. I can walk around myself and keep looking. Note to the floor walkers, NOT EVERYONE WHO HAS A PURSE IS A SHOPLIFTER! Big clean store that feels new. As you enter the store, the first aisle has lots of Hawaiian tourist junk like calendars, mugs and lots of other stuff. Some of this junk is the same stuff sold at all of the tourist gift shops in Waikiki but for 1/2 the price at Walmart. read more

I'm writing a review because I go here pretty often, and I've been happy with the cleanliness of the store thus far. Also, despite my inability to find certain things, I was reassured by the guy at the check out that there will be more inventory as people continue to shop. I've noticed, for example, that the craft section was pretty bleak for a few weeks, but I'm confident that will be remedied soon. I love that this Walmart is so close for those of us who live further West than Kunia, and I also like that it doesn't smell like stale urine, like the Kunia Walmart (in my opinion). Went here yesterday with my sisters i did a price match and the casher sent us to customer service. We got to customer service and the manager is so freakin rude. She was so lazy to even do a price match she kept giving me the run arounds. Make a long story short the MANAGER couldn't even do a price match, saved my coupon and went to Target. You can never go wrong with Walmart, especially since I was waiting for this location to open up ever since I moved to Kapolei. Sure, there is nothing out of the ordinary compared to the other Walmart's on island, maybe a small McDonalds as soon as you walk in and has the same layout as the Pearl City location; however, the staff here is so friendly and helpful! I'm always asked if I need help whenever I see lost in the aisles and everyone is very helpful when I ask for anything. I love that Walmart is right down the street for me and has everything that I need, even at 4am in the morning, which probably explains why I visit Walmart everyday. I don't mind this Walmart too much. It's clean and there are always plenty of registers open. I actually like the McDonald's located inside, and have always noticed quality customer service inside. My chief complaint is with the aisle space or lack there of. There is always a display right in the middle of the aisle making it impossible to turn around. Thus making you to walk down the entire aisle. I understand that this is in keeping with Sam Walton's core values ( brief history lesson if you didn't know. One of his original ideas was to make aisles so narrow it was impossible to turn your cart around. This would in turn make you walk down the entire aisle possibly buying more products.) I just don't understand with such a busy location why the store has to be so cluttered. Not to mention everyone shopping in the store seems to walk at a snails pace or they enjoy stopping in the middle of an aisle and send a text message or surf the web. I would have to say though that there is always plenty of staff available, and their all very polite. They are also much more knowledgeable about products than their counterparts on the mainland. I asked a sales rep about a router one time in Virginia, and he didn't even know what a router was. read more

Shelves empty kinda often. The employees walk past you without even saying hello. 4 stars for the lack of distance training on the staff. The check-out staff is always friendly. And the prices are almost always cheaper than anywhere else you need any of the things they carry. Great they are open 24 hours just in case you need something late. And for those craving so.e munchies the McDonalds is open too. However the staff there is on the level of mediocre. Service has a standard in this day and age, Wal-Mart isn't gonna go anywhere because of the lack of it. Ridiculous reviews complaining about the shoppers that go to the store instead of the actual control of the stores personnel should be ignored. The customer service here gets worst every time I go. I waited for help at the service desk in the sporting goods department for over 25 minutes. Normally, I would leave after 10 but I needed a key made and didn't want to travel somewhere else to get it done. Another customer had already waited 20 minutes and gave up just as I had got there. After almost a half an hour someone came up and asked if I needed help, turns out they were out of the size key I needed. When I told the worker I waited over 25 minutes, he didn't apologize, (also didn't apologize for not having the size key I needed) he just said "yeah, no one's here today" and walked off. I also called the store and talked to an assistant manager about what happened, I was told sorry, then rushed off the phone. I'm never going back to the Kapolei store again. read more

Bought a walmart moneycard its suppose to be like a debt card but you load it for a fee. Its part of walmart. Put 500.00 the max for my son so he can use it for vacation and i can load it from hawaii , big mistake . You load it then go home or call the number and they take your name ss# yada , so he gets the real one in the mail , but the scam is the indian fellow says all day system is down but you can use the card like a gift card but cant use it like a debt credit card . Hello habib that was the whole ideal so he can rent stuff like a car or diving gear and i would charge it up from here. So now he has a 500 gift card and i got to go to the bank add him to my acct wait 10 days and mail it to him. Once again walmart you failed me again just like your 10 million employees.
