I went to the pharmacy to get a Shingles Vaccine Shot scheduled at 3:45pm. I arrived early and checked it at about 3:20pm. I sat down and waited. After about 5 minutes, the Physician called me back for the shot. The Physician was very kind and asked which arm would I prefer the shot. She did let me know I may feel some pain for a few days which made me get the shot in my right arm, if not, I may have chosen the left arm. As she performed the preparation and administered the shot, she explained everything she was doing. She told me what I may feel afterwards like flu like symptoms. She also answered some questions regarding any side effects I may encounter. I had a very outstanding experience. Thank you so much!! read more

Now merged with CVS which does have it's benefits with the convenience using the app to scan and earn bonuses discounts is always great along with their weekly sales it's a place that we love to do our shopping though many other locations are open 24 hours this not but still early enough if needed. This Ewa Town Center location has been my go to whenever I'm with my bestie in the Ewa location but the parking is the biggest challenge as it shares with lots of tenants it's always worth the patience. On this visit I needed to pick up some cough drops as I've had the benefit of others to deepened on when needed to I wanted to replace it and remembered that it was sale here...and sure enough it was. Location is now open 24 hours / 7 days a week as posted on the sign outside & google. Walked in at 5am yesterday and the cashier confirmed they started the new hours as of 2 weeks ago. Went this morning at 4am before heading to work. The lights were on but the doors were locked. I could see 2 employees working and stocking the floor. Knocked on the door and the lady rolled her eyes and said they're closed because they don't have enough people and maybe they'll open by 7 am. Refilling a prescription... in Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii... This is not the Longs Drugs Store that my cousin and aunty use. That location didn't have the medication in stock. Supposedly, they sent the order to Longs Drugs on Fort Weaver Road. Keep in mind that there are two Longs on this road. The pharmacist said that it's the one by Foodland. Unfortunately, the first Longs made two mistakes. 1. The order wasn't transcribed correctly. One medication was missing. Luckily, I had the hard copy of the prescription. 2. The order was marked as "filled". Wrong! How can they fill an order when they don't have the medication in stock and sent me to Ewa Beach??? The staff at Ewa Beach worked through all of the mistakes and even the doctor's error: he wrote the incorrect instructions for taking the medication! Uhg! Anyway, I got a chance to shop around the cool, clean environment while I waited for the two medications. I enjoyed looking at the seasonal items, Local Kine greeting cards, Claire's merchandise, and Crème Shop products. Thanks for the retail therapy! read more

This is a review of Longs Ewa Town Center. We used to have two Longs in Ewa Beach. The older one near Ilima Intermediate closed, leaving us with one. It was good at first because that older one was terrible....never posted sale signs, always ran out of sale merchandise in the first few hours, and poor coverage one the floor if we had questions. The Town Center one was so much better. But now, I am sorry to say that the Town Center one seems to have caught the "disease" that the older one had. I always go to this Longs on the very first day of the new sale, Sunday, within an hour of the store opening because I know they will run out of sale items. This past Sunday was no exception. I went within the first 45 minutes of opening and already a sale item was out. The place where it is normally kept was completely blank. Now, unless one person came and bought the entire stock (no limits), which I admit is plausible, how can you put something on sale and have it run out in 45 minutes? In addition, another item that was on sale was displayed on a cap end with a large amount available, but a regular price sign on top. I had to check the ad to make sure it was the item on sale, then search for a price scanner to make sure because, well, no one was on the floor to help, and cashiers had long lines. I KNOW Longs prints sale signs because some sale items had such signs. It almost seems like they do not want folks to buy popular sale items! Why is it so difficult to print a sale sign and have someone post it? Back in the day (and if any Longs Execs actually read Yelp posts, they know this) Longs was the KING of drug stores in Hawaii because their competition: Pay 'n' Save, Payless, Rexall, etc. did a very poor job of customer service. I remember before scanners when Longs cashiers had to study their sale ad so they could ring up customers quickly and accurately. Cashiers at other stores always had to refer to a hardcopy ad. But now, Longs is just as bad, WITH scanners, and their only major competition, Walgreens is not any better and more expensive. It's no wonder many folks resort to online purchasing if possible. But regarding ample supply of sale items, I can see if I go in on Friday or Saturday, that sale items are gone, but within 45 minutes of the FIRST day? Do I need to wait outside before the store opens and rush in? And while they give rainchecks, it does me no good if I wanted to use that sale item the same day, which I did. I actually rarely go to Longs anymore for these reasons, even though it's less than a mile from my home. Pretty sure if any Longs Exec IS reading this, nothing will be done, but it's really sad to see such a decline of a once really good store! read more

I didn't get the cashiers name & I usually do, especially because she was super kind. But it was late and I wasn't really paying attention. MY BAD GUYS! As for the store... OH MY GOD they're pretty big. Compared to the longs I go to. lol! But they were well stocked and had what I needed. SO 4 STARS FROM ME! I didn't give a 5 because they're located in Ewa Beach which is SUPER FAR AWAY FROM ME. Heh heh! Nothing against Ewa beach, just saying I wish they were near me as well. Hehehe I went in around 11pm. They close at 12am. In case some don't know what 12am is, that's MIDNIGHT. So that's a great thing for this location because ALL the other stores are closed much earlier. They have their Christmas items displayed on the floors for this months sales. It was CERY TEMPTING & I know I'll regret it later for not looking around. Today I came into Longs Ewa Beach Pharmacy at 3pm for my scheduled Shingle's shot. I came in on time and went up to the consultant counter as instructed by the text message from CVS. I waited a few minutes and then a staff member dressed in blue scrubs and long sleeve blouse underneath her scrub blouse spoke up and said: Do I have a question. Her tone is not friendly, no : can I help you , no kindness! When I asked her name and why she dosen't have a name tag. The pharmacist Nicole B, step up to defend her and apoloigze for me! She Nicole B. apologize for me " that I misinterpreted how her staff spoke"! How on earth do you apologize for a customer to the customer! The Longs with the Fort Weaver ( the one still in service is terrible ! Pharmacy does not advertise the time that they are closed for lunch ! So of course when I get there they are closed. At least put it in print for the public to look up or on your phone message. This Longs advertises sale items that they run out of on FIRST day of the sale. Back to the pharmacy. I needed something and asked an employee for assistance. She was kind and directed me to the area. They were fully stocked and had a great sale going on. I absolutely love this Longs! The workers are always nice and helpful, as well as their pharmacy personnel. Usually fully stocked with sales flyer items. They have water refilling stations as well as machine to clean your water bottles. I also take advantage of their rewards program. Last time I got a $10 coupon. They also carry staple grocery items like garlic, potatoes, carrots, avocados, milk, ice cream, frozen food, bread, a decent frozen selection of plant based items and local favs like Zippy's chili. Overall a great drug store with a little bit of everything. Lots of parking and located on or near bus line. Foodland, Jamba Juice, L&L, Hong Kong Chinese, Genki Sushi and Ramen Ya all located next door. read more

6 December 2020 Pharmaceutical pick up! There are two Longs Drugs on Fort Weaver but this one is at the intersection of Fort Weaver & Geiger in the Ewa Town Center plaza. The distinction is important so when someone is at the doctor's office, the doctor knows which location to send your prescriptions too. It's not a big deal if they send it to the wrong location but, it is a bit of a wait to get one location to transfer to another Longs Drugs location. I went specifically for the pharmacy. The pharmacy is located at the back of the store so you have to walk through the store to access it. At the main entrance of the store there are sani-wipes however they were dry and not very effective (the other entrance was closed and signs directed customers to enter/exit through the main door). I didn't realize that Longs carries pretty much everything, from drinking alcohol to rubbing alcohol! Lol! Chocolate, cookies, and Christmas decorations which are prevalent right now. What I like about this store (I'm not sure if it's the same at other locations), they have all their daily/weekly specials coupons displayed on a board at the interior of the store near the entrance. I think this saves them having to print a ton on coupon books that likely gets thrown out or customers forget them at home when they go to the store. Instead, once a customer enters the store, they can browse the board and see the specials. One issue with this is that is may impede the flow of customers at the door. Overall the store is well kept. He found a way to use another coupon and get my 9 dollar macadamia nuts down to .13 and then paid it for me. I didn't know what to say! Great customer service - he should be a manager! This review is solely based on the pharmacy. I have to refill one of my prescriptions every month; quarterly for the other. It's thus far been very easy, quick, and pain free! I always call ahead of time, so there are no hiccups with my hubs picking it up. One time I needed to be out of state for about a month. Rather than having to deal with a move to another pharmacy at my destination, and whatever other fallout that may bring, the pharmacist here reached out to my doctor to see if I could receive my refill in advance... I guess it's a vacation consideration. In any case, less than a day later, I had my month and a half worth of meds in hand, to cover me until I returned. I thought the cashier Chantelle had waved me forward but I must have been mistaken. Chantelle was lovely, and quick in scanning my meagre amount of groceries. I come here to pick up all my medications and usually without any issue. I mean it's Longs... I don't expect out of this world customer service but at least a bit of common courtesy and respect. I went up to the drop off counter and waited in line (I'm the only person in line and no one else was currently being assisted). I needed help with some coupon issues regarding one of my medication. There was a pharmacy technician standing behind the counter that was too busy clicking away on the phone to noticed me right away. Her name was KAYLA. She didn't notice me for a good amount of time until I made a noise than she finally looked up. She called me up and no smile and no greeting. She asked me how she can help me. I told her I wanted to pickup my medication but I wanted to make sure the coupon I had will work. She told me that the coupon system is down. I informed her that I was told on the phone by the other staff to get a new coupon and they can try again. And that's what I did. She took my coupon information and started processing. I would like to mention that she barely made any eye contact with me at all. She just talked to me while staring at the computer. She told me that the coupon wasn't working. Something was wrong with the ID. She didn't give me any further explanations. I was confused because this never happened to me before. I just follow instructions given and that usually it. She just kept saying the same thing without trying to help me understand what's going on. I asked her is it the coupon or is it their system because they are having issue with processing coupon right now. She said it's the coupon. There's nothing they can do. And again no further explanation. Not even "maybe you should call the coupon manufacturer and find out what's going on". I had to keep asking her questions before she even given this much information so far. Still no real eye contact. She barely even looked up at me. If you're going to give bad news, at least have the common courtesy to look me in the eyes. Kayla I don't know you realized this but you work in customer service. A polite smile and eye contact goes a long way. I don't expect anyone go above and beyond for me. I shouldn't have to pull answers out of her like I'm pulling teeth. I know it isn't their fault if the coupon is not working but try to be a little more compassionate in the situation instead of just having dead fish eyes and talking to me like a robot. read more

Let's talk people. So this review will be concerning the pharmacy in the back of Longs. All my previous reviews give a general overall view of a place. You know parking, restrooms, decor. Well here is just strictly the pharmacy. The place is very professional and very friendly. I like the fact that you can talk to the head pharmacist about any of your prescribed meds or even ask about your symptoms if you are going for Over The Counter help. Like I said the people here are super friendly. I want to take what they're on because they always seem to be smiling. Makes me wonder what they do in the back? Overall five very stars because you never upset the person that gives you your meds. Well I guess you can, there's medicine for that. Went in for my booster shot under their guidelines on the website that healthcare workers are being taken. Very easy process, just make sure you have your insurance information ready, as they will need it your ID and Vaccination card. Go to the back of the pharmacy for the vaccination, There was a worker right there checking me in, and we go to a small corner with some curtains and they administer the shot. You need to wait there for a few minutes on these chairs in the store, but other than that it was a fast process. All in all, I really thought it was a great process. Med Clinic helped our daughter's ear infection. We visited Hawaii for our summer vacation in 2018 - the Big Island, Oahu and Kauai. On Oahu our daughter developed an ear infection that really started bothering her when we hiked Diamond Head. She and I made it to the bottom of the Diamond Head trail a few minutes sooner than our son and my wonderful wife, and we talked about her ear and confirmed we should get to a doctor. As our son and my wonderful wife made it to the picnic table at the pavilion by the parking lot, I was calling the insurance company to determine what ENT we could see on Oahu. The insurance rep confirmed that ours was the first call she had received from inside Diamond Head and we confirmed this was the first call of any kind we had made from inside an extinct volcanic crater! :) Insurance recommended that we visit the Med Clinic at Longs Drug back toward our hotel, in Ewa Beach, so we drove off to Longs Drug. The wait a the Med Clinic was short, and then our daughter and my wonderful wife were talking with Dr. Kubo. Dr. Kubo prescribed some medicine that helped our daughter's ear improve the next couple days. While at Longs Drugs, the kids got a couple souvenirs and a bag or two of candy. When you go to pick up a prescription that you was notified was ready but end up being told "it's going to be a 30min wait" (SINCE THURSDAY I AM WRITING THIS ON A SUNDAY), as someone who has to juggle not only my schedule but 3 kids schedules of practice, tutoring, and appointments (along with mines) no I can't wait 30min so I ask "will it be ready for pick up in 3hrs?" And the answer is "yes it will be ready". So you take your kids to only come back and told "sorry it's not ready it's going to take 30min". Shucks no I got to take one more kid to tutoring, "will it be ready tomorrow?". Ofc the worker says "yes it will be ready", so you arrive on Friday to pick up before you head out to your doctors to only be told "no we don't have it ready it's going to be 30min", so you request "can I have it ready in 3hrs?" and you get "yes it will be ready for you" only to have this whole thing repeated over and over that's not ready and now here we are SUNDAY and no still not ready....? Kapolei and better yet Waianae longs way better with "yes it will be ready" than this place. Thank you for the "yes it will be ready" cause girl... it looked like it wasn't ready these past 3 days. I like this Longs. They have the 10 for $10 or single snack items for $1.00 but what separates this place from most is the friendly service. It's not a pleasant experience when you're trying to check out and you can tell the person behind the register absolutely hates their job and doesn't want to engage in customer service. That was not the case with Edward who checked my kids and I out today. I just came in for some cough syrup and snacks and didn't expect anything special. Edward greeted us, scanned the items quickly, gave me some saving tidbits about my receipt and wished us a good day. SUPER PLEASANT. Not very many people are like that anymore and I TRULY appreciate it. Edward should get a promotion. His kindness and efficiency makes this world a better place. read more

This Longs recently did a floor layout revamp which still has me thrown when I go in there, but I have to admit that I like it. I always like how they put all the sale stuff in the middle as it makes things easier for me to find. When things go on sale here, its usually a pretty good buy in comparison to the rest of the stores. The staff here are usually friendly and helpful. The lines can get a bit long though in my experience over the last couple years, so just be prepared to wait during busy times. read more

After my terrible customer service with the pharmacy department at Walgreens in Ewa (read my recent review on that) I knew I didn't want to experience another 8 hours of waiting for prescriptions. And especially This time around because my husband was really sick and needed his prescriptions ASAP! All I wanted was his prescriptions so we can go home and my husband can rest and recover.... Thank God it was only a 15 minute wait !!!! Mind you his meds were not called in. But the fast and accurate, efficient service was amazing which is why I'm giving them 5 stars !!! read more

WHATS THE POINT? ... 3 deep in line on the first register (closest to foodland)...2nd register was just finishing up a customer but the close lane sign was up. The cashier on that second register (I want to say her name was Diane (or not) but an older haole lady, short boy cut hair with raspy voice) called 1st lane customers to assist at her register. I signaled the 2nd lady in line (fronting me) to head over, but insisted that I go. As I walked over to the 2nd register, an outside call came in. The call was about the customers CVS card. Rather than placing the customer on hold, employee "Diane" when ahead with the call, ignoring the fact that I was standing in front of her waiting to get cashed out. For some reason, I knew the call was not gonna end but I stood there as long as I could. Still at this point, I was not given any acknowledgement from this employee. So I head over to register "6", while my items were ringing up, I had my eye on ""Diane" who was still on the call. So my question again," WHATS THE POINT? What's the point in calling a customer over to your register to assist checking her out and not doing a gawd damn thing? Not even a apologizing for being on a call. "Diane", maybe if you knew you were going to be in the call forevers, then you should've directed me to head over to the other register or place the call on hold while you ring me up. You fail in customer service "DIANE!" Maybe you should've stayed retired than getting a job! read more

Never been in the Ewa Beach side for a long time. This store is in a little mall area with Foodland and other small shops. The store is like the other ones, organized and busy. When I went, it was not staffed with enough cashiers. There were only 2 cashiers and the lines went to the back of the store. It may have been a one time event. The Ewa Town Center parking lot can get pretty crowded during peak times. If you're only making a stop at the Longs Drugs, I suggest heading straight to the area between Longs and Applebee's for parking. If not, then on the HawaiiUSA side of the mall. This has been my go-to store for years. I am practically a regular here, shopping about once a week. Over the past few months, they have done a total overhaul on the entire layout in the store. Before this change, I would have given this store 5 stars. You knew where to find whatever you are looking for. You knew where to go for most of the items advertised in the weekly ad. The employees were available and very willing to help when you can't find what you need. Now.......things are different. It's natural to resist change. Humans don't like drastic change. It takes a while to adapt. With that said, I totally hate the new layout. You can't find anything. For the first month, I literally walked around the store and through the aisles over and over again trying to find what I went there to buy. Before, the aisles were linear, and you could walk through the middle and look at the aisle signs as you walk by. It is not linear anymore! The employees are not as available. The vibe I get from them now is that they're too busy to help, they don't make eye contact with you, or offer/ask if you need assistance (like they used to!). The aisle signs are not as clear and descriptive enough. Where's the "Oriental Foods" section? The "Baking Items"? You have to know where to go find the Potato Chip section. Where's the crack seed stuff? Apparently by the potato ship/ snack area. Not by the candy area anymore. The way the items are laid out, it is not as logical as it used to be. I came from the ER to drop off my daughter's prescription after being there for 3 long hours. My daughter is physically challenged, I'm sleepy, & in the midst of waiting on her prescription I need to use the bathroom. I asked an employee if they have a restroom, & with attitude she told me "Yes, I'll take you there." And she booked it, so unmindful that I was following her, that I had a cart w my daughter inside, & that her rack was in my way. I patiently put it to the side and hurried to catch up. She went so fast that when I took the corner she took, she was out of sight. I had to use wisdom and follow moving doors to figure out where she went. And when I got the door, she let it go, w/o any assistance, knowing that there was a second door after the first- in such a tiny space BTW- that I had to go through, while wheeling my daughter in the huge cart. I let it go, & told myself all is well... Until I walked out, and upon exiting, another employee rushed to come in, let the door hit our cart, & as I pushed the door back open, a third one bulldozed her way in w/o so much as a "here! Let me help you!" Very disappointing. I'll stick to the Long's in Ewa Beach by 7-11. I've never had this experience there! Moreover, this was my first time here! What a challenging experience. This Longs Drugs location is conveniently located within the Ewa Beach town shopping center area that is on Fort Weaver Road. It is the one that is right next to the Foodland. This one is pretty convenient because sometimes if you cannot find something at Longs, then sometimes you maybe able to find something next door at Foodland. The staff and customer service is Ok. They usually have just one or two open cashier registers, which is not really enough for a store so most of the time I am in line to wait to get checked out for something. It is pretty rare when you see a decent amount of cash registers open and available. Anyways, the item selection at this Longs is not too bad. I would say it is not the greatest selection of typical Longs Drugs items, it is Ok. Sometimes it could get busy especially during the weekend. This location has open and close hours and is not 24/7 like some stores are. read more

Pharmacy Techs and cashiers here at ewa town center are friendly for the most part. Although iy has happened prior to CVS taking over it has been more consistent now that I have not been getting the same manufacturer prescription. Even the numbers on pill does not always match. Per my doctor it should always be the same. You can not play with a patient's prescription. read more
