I figured I'd come to Walmart for an Xbox headset my partner has been wanting for the longest time instead of ordering it on Amazon. Sometimes online shopping is hit or miss, and shipping can take longer than expected. This headset was just under $200. YIKES! It better be a good one! I always enjoy looking at the electronic section and the music section. Once upon a time, I used to collect CDs. And something in me is wanting to collect vinyls but that is such an expensive hobby and my heart is still telling me to save for a new car so window shopping it is. I also love going to Walmart's Tumbler section. There are so many beautiful ways to decorate your Tumbler nowadays. I cant keep up! I also went to the sewing section and fell in love with the fabrics, and it made me want to sew a pillow! Walmart is just a better version of Hobby Lobby because it sells food. That's what makes it dangerous!!! I did finally get my partner's shoes we've been procrastinating to get for months so I'm proud of that. Unfortunately, I didn't have much luck finding a pair of women's size 11 TredSafe work shoes today, which was a little frustrating. But that's okay, I'll try again tomorrow when I have a bit more energy. To make things more interesting, I was dealing with an asthma attack during my shopping trip tonight. Thank goodness for those motorized shopping carts up front, they truly saved the day and made it possible for me to finish my errands. With that, my errands for the day are officially complete. I like the convenience of knowing that they open at 6am-ish... Most times it opens up around 6:04 to 6:05 depending upon who's in charge of that area. The store is typical of Wal Mart's layout. Rows and aisles of clothing, food, household goods, etc. Most employees are nice and some you can tell are just trying to make it until break time, which is okay because we all have "days". My biggest issue is having to navigate through aisles that are riddled with pallets and merch needing to be shelved. Sometimes they'll be multiple employees in one aisle with their merch carts crammed against each other try to stock shelves. They're focused and most often won't move for you to get your shopping cart through, let alone get what you need off of the shelf. There are (2) restrooms, one is located in the back near the fabric area and one across the cash registers next to the eyeglass shop. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked. Again, it's a toss up between speaking with a nice, cordial employee and an employee who's just going through it. My recommendation is to have a plan if you're short on time. Especially for people who start work at 6:30am and the store is slow to open at 6am. Have a plan and be ready to do an audible in the event that the area you need items from are congested with merch carts and pallets. read more

My visit to this Walmart was on June 19, Friday, to purchase cello wrap for a gift. They have a good selection of Hawaiian designs. When I scanned the item at self checkout the price was higher; so from past experience I cancelled the transaction, took a camera shot of the price displayed where the wrap was stocked (in fact, the other designs showed the same price). I returned to self checkout to have the displayed price honored. I want to compliment Lena, the cashier at self checkout, who genuinely listened to my concern without interrupting. She corrected the price and I was happily satisfied as I know a business should honor the displayed price. What makes Lena standout is how she apologized then made the right business decision after I approached two other employees. Lena is definitely an asset for Walmart as a sincere,helpful, problem solver in customer service. Mahalo! read more

IN GENERAL...WALMART DELIVERY is starting to SUCK! They use third party drivers to deliver. It's not guaranteed that a driver will take the delivery. So if you pick a time slot, like 1-3pm, they deliver items at the later time to deliver. It's frustrating! ‍ read more

Whenever we're on one of the Hawaiian islands we like to go to a Walmart. They've got a souvenir section as you first enter. One item we will buy - the Floor Buddy. It's shaped like a flip flop. You wear it and wipe the kitchen floor with it. I usually will wipe up drops of water that lands on the floor. It comes in different scenes of Hawaii. It makes a great gift. Under $7 each. On a sad note - we asked an employee where's the Spam. He said it's locked up by the self checkout. What! That's the only grocery item under lock and key at this Walmart we visited. I like shopping here for my necessities and stuff I'm randomly see. My daughter and I like to look around..prices are pretty reasonable and affordable but you end up spending so much for a few items. I always come here for my shampoo, conditioner and toilet paper. I try to do one stop shopping because it's easier for me. Employees are always on the floor. Definitely checkout the clearance items. I found a dress that was literally $1. Sometimes you find good deals with clearance items. Always busy here but get here in the morning and on a weekday. Not as busy as weekends. read more

The worst part of going to this Walmart is being stopped at the exit with a virtual receipt or you put your receipt in your pocket and have your arms full. It's ridiculous and I'm so tired of dealing with it when I just want want a hassle free yuck trip. This is not Costco and if I was trying to steal something I am sure the alarm would go off. Around 7-8 pm on 02/28/2026 I asked the Team lead on the self check out to help me to take away the alarm on my shoes that I bought. But when she taking it out she talking to her associate (she beside her) saying "You need to watch your customer " with a mean tune . I mean I see her first so I asked her . Not that the sales associate is not focus on the customer I see her looking around . But this Team lead is just so mean to her associate. Omg ! Even the customer can hear it . This review is regarding the drive up/ pick up at Kapolei. Before I start, this review is for the process and wait time. The staff were super friendly, hard working and apologetic. I commend the staff for great service with a smile. But, the management should be ashamed of themselves. My first attempt to pick up my order, I waited 45 minutes. Because I had other errands to do I left. The second attempt to pick up my order I waited over an hour and I wasn't the only one. The parking isn't giving clear directions. There's two areas to park and multiple ways to enter. No one giving instructions or redirecting cars to wait in the proper area. Drive up / pick up isn't new to Walmart. Seems like the management didn't prepare,organize and staff well. read more

Awful store! They have a sign (see photo) at the return counter. It says "with or without receipt." I brought in four items that I didn't have a receipt for, the items had the Walmart logo and they were just purchased about 4 weeks ago. I waited over 30 minutes in line before I found out that the sign is false advertising. The store is dirty and the shelves are messy. Never again! Walmart has been known vastly for its competitive prices & that's what gains loyalty of the customers. Recently I have utilized the drive up order pick up services for this location & have noticed that it involved extra steps in not only receiving my order, waiting and verifying but today my husband picked up my online order of which I ordered two 12 stem Rose bouquets each priced at $9.97 each and was guaranteed the products as gifts and it's availability of order if I confirmed a pick up time and day and thus ordered it well ahead of time. The word disappointed did not even begin to cover it because not only was it the wrong product then the one pictured even it's substituted item was wrong from the picture the day before Valentine's Day, I was short changed one and also had it cancelled and substituted without a confirmation on my end which was very upsetting. If this was not bothersome enough I call customer service of which Issac the manager for customer service transfers me directly without apology to order fulfillment to speak to Monica the manager for online orders. A worker came on the phone and as I asked to speak with her he put me on hold and then came back and mentioned that she was busy and would give me a call back. As a former Target manager for guest service and order pick up for many years I will say that the customer service here is lacking. Busy should not be an excuse to provide good customer service. It was upsetting and being too busy to address concerns in their department to me is unacceptable. Yes there was a high volume that ordered this online and yes they probably may not have accounted for it but the lack of communication all the way around was just appalling. Sports worker that was stocking didn't know where the ball pump was on the isle I asked him which is where it was, yet he told me K39 when it wasn't anywhere there and he looked on handheld machine to check and it gave him the wrong info. I looked everywhere on K39 only to stop a pallet works to ask if he knows and he did which ended up same place I started maybe K30 or 31. My ex eventually found it but earlier today I just returned it to a different Walmart. On another note, A guy that had a earphone on left ear was rolling a pallet next to me not knowing he wanted to overtake me and I stopped him in his tracks, I asked, "what can't say excuse me?" I used to shy away from Walmart. Perhaps it's because of all the terrible memes out there. But hey, this is Hawaii. It's not like that at all! First off, I've downloaded the app and signed up for Walmart plus because Walmart is one of the few places that deliver to Guam for FREE (plus perks)!! They deliver FREE whether you order a $1.00 worth of goods or $500.00 with of goods. I've become an online shopper and I've found that some of their products are cheaper than anywhere else on the island. Might I note, Walmart carries a few things that I can't get anywhere else (All detergent - baby one). Also, I was able to purchase powered toddler rides online with delivery when all the local stores didn't have inventory. The actual store isn't bad either. I find it a bit dim at the kapolei store but I think it's because the lights are solar powered. Many if not all, the checkout lines are now self check. I used to mind that since I'm rather slow scanning and bagging but I've gotten better and faster. You'll find that their prices are just a few cents lower than Target. read more

I had to wait 30 minutes for a handicart. This store doesn't seem to have many. When I was checking out I told the cashier I need bags and to give me as many as I need and I asked her to not over fill the bags. This lady put 200 dollars worth of stuff into 2 bags. I use a can so I can only hold bags that aren't all the way full and this lady still put all my canned goods into 1 bag. This was my first time back at this store in well over 5 years. A few things I like about Walmart - Whenever I wanna fix something on my car, or a friend's car, you can count on Walmart's automotive section as most times if you find the item that you're looking for, the prices here are usually a little cheaper than if you went to an local automotive parts store around the island. So I was working in the Kapolei area, and decided to pop into the Kapolei Walmart as I was looking for a catalytic cleaner that my friend needed. Normally I would go to an O'Reilly Auto parts store, or maybe an AutoZone parts store, but since Walmart was near by, I decided to stop on in to see if they had what I was lookin' for. Sure enough, when I got to the automotive section, I found exactly what I was looking for! Yay! The Kapolei Walmart is huge!!! Very easy access as they have a lot of parking. Now if you're not a car person like me, Walmart does have an array of other stuff - like food items, clothing, pet supplies, personal hygiene items, gardening section, electronics, shoes, sporting goods, & almost any other item I probably have forgotten to mention. Sometimes going to the other Walmart stores far away from the store in town (Keeaumoku store), I like the store spacing as the Keeaumoku store is rather crowded, and sometimes lacks items I need as they run out a lot. I ordered Pine Sol, some dog toys and a 30 lb bag of large breed puppy food. I received the Pine Sol and dogs toys, but no large breed puppy food. When I called, they said the store was out and the puppy food would be shipped from the Mainland. I received no notice that the store was out and shipped separately. If I hadn't called, I would never have known. They couldn't give me a delivery date. So I am left in limbo when I can expect my puppy food. Wish they had communicated better on my order not being available and had to wait for a delivery at an unknown delivery date. read more

I had to do a review on a young lady by the name of Eyndiah, she was wonderful. She assisted in the self checkout area at the Kapolei Walmart. She verbally greeted everyone as they came through the self check out line with a warm smile and a hello, I watched as she also assisted customers that needed help at the register. She was professionals as well as polite. When you see so many young people who just go to work and it is just a paycheck for them it is refreshing to see a young person make a shopping experience memorable. Trash experience. I called ahead of time and the person on the line told me they had a product in-stock, but couldn't explain to me what kind. Told me to come in the store and see it for myself. Wasted my time, gas, and energy. Horrible. Next time just walk to the product and tell me what it is instead of sitting on your ass. For some time now, Walmart's quality seems to have declined. During a shopping trip just last week, I found the experience quite frustrating due to the disorganization and poor customer service. Ok... so, tbh, this place is PRETTY HUGE! For instance the parking lot is very spacious and there's a lot of opened stalls. Or at least at this time. They have MCD's on the right as soon as you enter. So that's a plus! And THEN they have automated "gates" that swings open as you start to enter the "WALMART" store. This is a good thing because it separates McDonald's FROM the entrance of the store entirely. So no one has any reason to have to walk back inside to eat right after they shop. It's either eat on your way in or eat on your way out. You CANT EXIT the automated gates to go to McDonald's. YOU'LL HAVE TO GO COMPLETELY AROUND to get back to the entrance area. And you can't go back into Walmart's store area to eat either. If you've been to several Walmart's, you'll understand what I'm saying. Then they have a lot of stuffs! I mean... A LOT!!! So, if you ever plan on coming to Kapolei, I'd suggest to do an ONLINE ORDER AND A PICK-UP HERE because they most likely will have it in stock. The store is supper huge. Seems like this one was a combo of the Pearl city & Mililani Walmart's. The workers here a nice too! We'll, the ones I came in contact with. But there were others who seemed to be in a rush in stocking the floor. I don't blame them. Pushing these huge carts around & either putting items back where people just left on the side or because they changed their minds at the register. OR, they're pulling the ONLINE ORDERS & they need to get it ready ASAP. Then too, it's the holidays so they have to RESTOCK the empty shelves. So don't be too disappointed with those guys. They were hired to do a specific job, and yet customers are still asking them for help locate items. It interrupts then from working when we do that. So, try not to bother those who ARE stocking the shelves or pulling orders. If can, look for the ones with the BLUE VESTS. I think the others are wearing the safety vests. I've been using the curbside ordering for a while now on a weekly basis and have never had a bad experience with the workers that bring the orders out to the car. They are always friendly, courteous, and respectful. They greet you and they thank you. Something I never experienced inside the store with the clerks that are restocking inventory or moving inventory throughout the store. They never say a word, not "excuse me", "thank you", nothing, they are mutes. They ride your heels if you're in front of them. I just want to say that I appreciate the customer service provided by all of the curbside clerks. It is appreciated. The clerks inside the store could learn a lot. read more

Shopping in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii... This Walmart was my last one to visit. Of the six locations on Oahu, Kapolei seems to be the furthest for me. (Locals, in general, do not like to drive for more than half an hour... lol!) My search for a sewing machine for my sister and her daughters was reignited by a community service project. Maryknoll School is involving Alumni, students, and staff in a face mask sewing task. However, there were no sewing machines at Walmart Kapolei. All of the thread was sold out, too. There were thicker elastic for sale that could be cut thinner. I decided to buy elastic from a fabric store. Since I was there, I browsed around. This Walmart is similar to the others. It has a Garden Center, souvenir department, local greeting cards, scrub tops, produce, Hawaiian jewelry, snacks, $5 DVDs, Clearance section, etc. I think it had the largest selection of candy lei... many varieties! The residents of Kapolei are lucky to have this large store in their neighborhood! If I lived there, I'd be a loyal customer! read more

Walmart has a reputation for being.... lower class? Don't judge me, there is a website dedicated to 'The People if Walmart'. That being said, there is a wide selection of stuff here to include groceries. However the staff here is rude and the people seem to be a little sketch. Security systems strategically located around the parking lot and frequent issues that require the police. We avoid this Walmart but have a $50 gift card so stopped in for a few things and tried using the self checkout. The customer service rep, extremely rude, could see the card had $50 on it but couldn't get it to work. read more

Asked for help with my items to my car, I spoke very clearly and explained that I just had a surgery that is effecting my shoulder. Cashier didn't say yes or no, she totally ignored me and avoided eye contact with me while I stood there waiting for her answer, then she hit me with the "have a nice day!" and moved on to the next person in line. Ended up sliding a guy in the parking lot $10 to help me load up. At least give me an answer, if it's no then it's no, but ignoring customers who are speaking to you is unacceptable. read more

Generally I go here for a lot of things . It's close and convenient from my home. My family has decided to go across town and be Target shoppers now. The customer service we experienced on Sunday Sept . 15 was unacceptable and unprofessional. They wouldn't allow us to purchase an item that was clearly in our hand. It didn't have a price tag on it. So they couldn't scan it and we couldn't buy it online there because it said it was out of stock. They would not price match their own price at the register. Instead they just made a difficult and confusing conversation. I called customer service line to make a complaint and all I got was them saying my complaint doesn't warrent a follow up call from management. What's the point? Walmart now has the concept that customers are now pawns. read more

I have went back-and-forth as to whether it is worth it to even write a review. But I have been sitting with this uncomfortable knot in my stomach since my interaction this weekend; I hope that by sharing it, I can stop running this scenario through my head: My 11yr old daughter and I walked to Walmart together on Saturday evening. After checking out, we put our stuff in the bags that we brought with us, and showed our receipt to the employee at the door. The employee told my daughter that she had to show him what's in her bag along with her receipt, which is against store policy (more about this later). I told my daughter that the receipt was sufficient and that she did not have to empty her bag - AND THE EMPLOYEE TOLD MY DAUGHTER THAT SHE COULD EITHER SHOW IT TO HIM OR THE POLICE. She got so terrified that she immediately burst into tears, opened her backpack to show him what was inside and proceeded to run all the way home in the dark, screaming, crying, and terrified. For what? SHE DID NOTHING WRONG! My child is 11-yrs old and was threatened with the police for not showing what was in her bag WITH a receipt. By the way, the employees' response: (SEE YOU SHOULDVE JUST DONE THAT FROM THE BEGINNING). I returned to Walmart THE SAME NIGHT to speak to customer service, who told me they would follow-up, and I received an EMAIL (not even a call) from the manager apologizing for her employee's inappropriate treatment, and asking for another chance. And If this were the first time, I MIGHT give them another chance. The first time I was treated inappropriately and when I FIRST learned that it is against store policy for them to check my bags after an employee CALLED ME BACK INTO THE STORE AFTER I PAID AND ILLEGALLY SEARCHED MY BAG AFTER ACCUSING ME OF CHANGING PRICES ON ITEMS AT SELF CHECKOUT. That was, of course, easily disproved - and after I filed several customer service complaint, I got the same canned email response. So, NO! Walmart: I will NOT give you or your teammates another chance to accuse, harass, or violate me or my family. This morning I closed my Walmart + account and also paid off and closed my Walmart Capital One credit card. I live less than a block away from Walmart -it is the closest store to my house, I am a single mom on a budget, and it is also one of the cheapest places on the island to shop. This will definitely be more of an inconvenience to me than them, and based on their responses to both complaints of harassment, I'm sure it will not matter to Walmart. BUT MAYBE IT WILL TO YOU??? As I told my 11-yr old, there is no cost or convenience that makes having your civil rights violated worth it, and their treatment of us was priceless. read more
