This Wal Mart cleaned up their act. The store has stopped putting sales items in the walkways. This Is uncomfortable for customers trying to enjoy a good shopping experiences, I think customers show not feel enclosed. This is one of the better Walmarts on O'ahu because its not so touristy. I know I'm a tourist to the area but I still liked it because it wasn't messy and everyone in there were Kama'ainas. Great location in Kapolei. read more

I LOVE that we have a Walmart in Kapolei! The development in Kapolei the past several years has been awesome, I love this "second city" but with that said I have to add that as a loyal Walmart costumer I have been dissappointed with the empty shelves and lack of daily products that can so easily be found IN STOCK at the other Walmart locations. The store overall seemed great but there were only two isles of school/office supplies and they did not have everything we needed. This was just this week so well after school rush had come through. Also when I went to get gummy vitamins all three bottles had melted all the gummies into one blob in the container. Maybe they had been sitting in a truck too long in the heat but they shouldnt have even put them out like that. read more

Agree with the other reviews this is a nice store brand new looking but the staff are not very friendly and the shelves in the food section are basically empty. The lawn and garden section does not carry very many flowers or vegetable plants despite it being called lawn and garden. read more

My family would like to thank you to all the workers at Walmart-Kapolei and bystanders who helped my mom and brother when my niece passed out yesterday at the premises during their Friday outing there. According to my mom, the employees ran out with pillows to make my niece comfortable and to just to be there to help was a great comfort! Usually my trips to Walmart are positive ones and I leave happy and satisfied. Today however I encountered the most rudest employees ever. Rebecca of the fabric department gave me a lot of attitude. So I chose a fabric of fur and brought it up to her to cut it. She tells me "are you serious?" Me, thinking she's kidding, I giggle. Then she continues and says, you know that's gonna make a lot of mess? Then she told me she's serious and even told me that because the fabric I chose does a lot of shedding, I have to clean it up myself. Then she proceeded to show me the broom and dust pan. I told her this is not my job. She continued to give me attitude and suggested that instead I should have gone to fabric mart. She's right, I would've gotten better customer service there. Then I took this matter up to a manager named Rey and even he showed little interest in my story and cut me off saying "I will talk to the managers about this." Not even allowing me to finish my complaint. This was by far the WORST experience I've ever had at any Walmart location. Really disappointed and I hope these workers get some kind of write up. If you don't enjoy your job, quit! There are other people wanting the job you have and probably could do a better job at it too. Just saying. If I could give no stars I would, I understand that stores have policies and procedures and I agree to abiding by them by shopping in their stores, but I do not agree to being treated disrespectfully and being profiled against. I went to this Walmart on September 23, upon entering the store there is a sign that reads "oversized backpacks must be put in lockers" I walked in with my small purse that is a backpack and immediately upon entering was told that my backpack needed to be put in a locker. I explained to the woman that my backpack was not oversized and the woman very rudely said that it was policy and everyone in the store, even if it was not oversized needed to put their backpacks in lockers, and continued to argue with me. I was not happy with the woman's demeanor and her attitude towards me not to mention I walked around and saw several other women with the same bag as mine and another woman with an even larger backpack, I was not dressed very nice because I am going to Walmart, but how is it that several other women were able to bring in bags larger than mine and were not prompted to put their backpack in lockers. I will not be going to this Walmart anytime soon. read more

Seriously WalMart has become a staple in my life and I am so disappointed with the Kapolei location. Let's recount the last three experiences there. First I stopped in to pick up glasses. I found frames I liked and just wanted to buy them and come back next week (when I had more time and less of a headache) to get the prescription lenses put in. The sales lady was overly helpful and insisted it would only take a minute to get info from the Pearl City walmart...... Almost an hour later I stormed out of the store nearly in tears. I didnt have time or patience for this and she just wasn't listening. I felt like I was being held hostage as she called to get insurance clearances, etc....which resulted in saving me $12. Laughable. Second visit was to buy tickets at their ticketmaster kiosk. As I walked in I asked a cashier who had just closed his line where it was. After he sighed loudly and rolled his eyes at me ((really???)) he said they didnt offer that service I would have to go to Keeaumoku store. Actually they offer that service at Pearl City. Third visit I went to buy a disposable cell phone. Too bad the cashier's register couldnt activate the phone. She didnt call for help and instead I buy a different (re. more expensive) phone. Ok, I'm impatient so I did. But it still left a sour taste in my mouth. Bonus visit, my boyfriend and I stopped in to get a few things. He needed a few pairs of reading glasses, but when we found display he asked the pharmacy assistant to borrow scissors to cut the tag off of one so he could wear them in the store and see the tags on the other items he needed to purchase. She point blank refused. Where is the aloha? Point being....walmart Kapolei sucks. But I will probably go back next week when I need something else for the house. read more

I purchased a smart tv at this Walmart with the 3 year warranty (they charged me for a 2 yr laptop warranty). When I tried to file a warranty claim to have my tv fixed it was not longer under warranty. After calling the warranty department i was advised to go back to the Walmart where i originally bought the tv. WARNING: A staff member could be a culprit if you lost your phone. I really do love walmart, I come here almost every single night. Usually I come around 10-12ish when there's less people and shorter lines. Well I just got back and I had one of the WORST experience ever. My boyfriend and I were going to pay at the self check-out line until we realized that there was no bags at the one we were at, so we turned around and used the empty self check-out behind us. As soon as I scanned our first item I realized that I forgot my phone at the other check-out. I turned around to get it and it was gone. My boyfriend and I checked around and couldn't find it so I told him to try call it because my phone is always at it's loudest with a really annoying loud pitch ringtone. He called it a couple of times and we didn't hear it at all. So I told him to quickly run out to see if a costumer might have taken it as they were leaving. He was gone for a good 3 minutes while I searched around my area. There was a cashier that was behind the counter looking down and when she looked up she saw me awkwardly just standing at my station looking around. She didn't offer any help or asked if I had a question, instead she just looked back down and did her stuff. I assumed she was busy with something so I wasn't going to ask her for her help until my boyfriend returned. Just then one of the other costumer needed help and she left her station. A customer that was standing off on the side came by and said "excuse me...if your looking for a phone, there's a phone here." And he pointed to where the cashier was. I looked behind the counter and to my surprise I saw my phone. I quickly took it, paid for our stuff and left. I asked my boyfriend to call it again to see if there was something wrong with the volume because it wasn't that far from me and I should've heard it since I can hear my phone from another room at home. He called it and it was as loud as ever. Only explanation we could come up with was that every time he called, the cashier immediately muted it. Even if I looked like I needed help she didn't come up to me at all. We always go to walmart and even though sometimes the staff members doesn't seem friendly they always help us out and at night sometimes they chat with us, but this is illegal as it is theft. I would just like to warn you late night walmart goers in kapolei. If you see a blond, short hair female staff worker, make sure you have all your personal belongings because it takes less then 30 secs for her to immediately react to steal something valuable. read more

I was there on a Monday night and the cashier lanes were all closed but the self service and there was a huge line. The customer service was too busy talking to another employee and a friend to even pay attention to myself with a small child but when a local came up she gave her attention. This place just reminds me of how ghetto you really need to be to work there thank you for reminding me of that. read more

Good prices for souvenirs. They have coffee mugs, key chains, macadamian nuts, hats and etc. mugs were 1.98-$3 good prices.

This has to be the most out of stock Walmart ever. Always Out of Purina Cat litter, mini milk bone dog biscuits pantene shampoo, white rabbit candies, premium car wax supplies etc. Plenty of empty shelves. They should put the Pearl City manager in charge. read more

I made my husband come with me to Walmart because I wanted to find some fabric for a project. My husband said he'd come along since he really wanted a hungry man classic fired chicken frozen meal (one of his all time favorites). After not being able to find just the right fabric, we make our way through the store to the frozen meals. We get to the aisle and there are no classic fried chicken hungry mans! So my husband picks something else out and goes to another aisle while I keep trying to look for the hungry man hoping it would be mixed in with the other frozen meals. I couldn't find any so I start heading out of the aisle looking for my husband when all of a sudden a nice Walmart associate named Kevin is heading my way from the housewares aisle asking me if I need help finding something. I tell him about the hungry man and he scans the barcode and tells me it shows they have some in the back and for me to wait while he goes and checks. He comes back with a big box of them! I really appreciate Kevin's excellent customer service. I didn't even have to hunt anyone down to help me and he was so helpful even if it was just for a frozen meal. 5 stars for Kevin and his help! read more

it looks just like the pearl city store but darker. i guess because the floors are a darker shade. the staff is only into talking to each other rather than assisting customers. the shelves seem to be on the bare side. their mcdonald's is the worst one that i've ever been too because the layout is all wrong. overall: i think i'll stick with shopping at Target instead. read more

So this is the newest Walmart on the island. I came here on the second day it opened. I was pretty excited to come here at first but when we got there it seems as if it has already been opened for a while. I was trying to get the a sense, urge, and anticipation of somewhat of a Black Friday kind of feeling with the grand opening atmosphere and all but nothing special when I went down. Going up to the store in the morning, there were some cops directing on where to go so I was like oh ok this is pretty legit. There was choke parking and the parking is very spacious with choke stalls and everything. When I was walking up, it wasn't that crowded which was I guess a good thing but I was expecting it to be way more people. It felt like I was visiting a Walmart from Arizona or something which the desert like feel and atmosphere. The layout is exactly like Walmart Pearl City. There are some things that are placed differently but overall the same thing. The McDonalds is right next to the entrance and it was hecka poppin. Everybody was at McDo. There's also the bank right next to it. Majority of the store is some stuff and same prices. I was expecting some food samples to be handed out but one of the only things that are recognizable is the extra helpfulness with the staff and customer service. The presentation of the products is really nice. Their restocking seems impressive for now. However, I am happy for the residents and community of Kapolei/Makakilo for getting a Walmart. read more
