I love Walmart's, they have everything, but this one made me sad. The overhead announcements were aggressive, angry and unprofessional to start with. The staff on the floor was rushed and unhelpful and the cashiers were unfriendly. My guess is that an employee culture of being pushed hard and snapped at it is what has created this environment which is not at all customer friendly. I was in about 9:30 pm and had a specific 4-item list, I didn't realize they closed at 10 pm but no matter I can get done long before then. I had to abandon my cart a few minutes into my journey because it was slowing me down once I was over by housewares; the crates for what I assume is overnight stocking blocked my path, I couldn't even exit the way I went in the row because pallets had been dropped there too. I gave up once I got to item 3 on my list out of frustration and a run in with an angry staff member and headed to the registers. It was 9:55 and as I headed for a staffed register someone with a sour expression and judgemental words berated me for being late and told me only the scan and go registers were open. I'm pretty savvy so I can hold my own at the self check out but the elderly woman next to me was deeply upset and as we walked to the self-scanners I promised to help her if she got stuck. I don't live in the area and am down for a conference but I am struck by how amazing my own local Walmart is from the manager on down (shout-out to the Eureka store!) and when I get home I need to swing by and give them a hug and thank them for being helpful even on hard nights, even even it is late, even when it has been raining for months and we're all a little grumpy. Two stars because it is a nice store, seemingly new and had the potential to have been a great stop; I was hoping they would have had the sewing machine I was looking for in stock but I never got back that far into the store. Before I head for Home I may look for another large Walmart to try look for the things I need but hopefully also wander around and find other treasures I want. read more

Came in for a quick stop to pick up some laundry items. Happened to walk past some big screen tvs on sale before the big Black Friday sale saw a 55" for a great price had to get it. Neil in electronics was great in helping us get the correct price and it was even cheaper than the sale price posted SCORE Antonio was our cashier who was very educated on the tvs in stock so we walks away feeling good about the price we paid and we didn't have to fight the crowd to get it. Lenocio (sorry for spelling your name wrong) was our savior who helped get the tv into our car. It wouldn't fit and he figured out a plan to make it fit. Thank you. read more

First time at a Walmart, and honestly I don't know why people saying bad things about it. I've seen the internet photos saying how you'll find the strangest people, but maybe not in this Walmart lol. Driving by this place, I got a small look out of the car and it really didn't seem that big to me, but it was another story going inside. I compared it to Costco immediately, in size. After a few moments, the aisles reminded me of Target but a lot more cramp with random stockpiles of the most out of place things? It was a Saturday, and there weren't too many people. We ended up buying 33 things, mostly snacks because they had so many, felt like a child at a candy shop with these low prices. There were so many things, I wanted to walk through all the aisles just to see what I wanted to buy (probably because of the prices :/). We barely walk through 1/3 of the places and noticed we spend too much time here so we left for food. Gonna try to come back maybe by the end of the year. read more

I used to be an avid Walmart shopper, because it was cheap and close. To go to this Walmart I would basically wake up at 6:30AM to be there at 7:00AM, right when they opened to avoid the crowd. If you go here later in the day, you better be prepared to wait in a long ass line. FYI: This is why it's so crowded, realize that people from East Palo Alto come here to shop as well because it's the nearest Walmart, you got two cities up in there getting their shop on. In the years past, my sister would rave about Walmart. So I decided to go there one day. It's nothing more than a busy Kmart. The prices are rock-bottom but the darn place is packed with people. It feels like a free for all, if you know what I mean. I've been there several time...hoping that "the last time was a fluke, it has to be better than this." If you go in the evenings or on the weekends, it's always crowded. If you must go, I suggest within the first hour of the store's opening. Otherwise, it's crowded and simply not worth the headache. Also, when I enter the store, my nose tingles like there are alot of chemicals in the air. I wonder how toxic this place is. I'd rather shop at Target and skip the madness. read more

Today I have been on the phone for over and hour. 3 people have told me that I need a UPC# to search for an item???? Who the hell implanted that stupid ass method? Most people don't look for tiny ass numbers on a ticket, they look for the name of the item. Finally I get someone to answer the phone who asks me what I need places me on hold for no more then 5 minutes comes back on the line and tells me they have one in stock! I usually try to avoid using this store because whenever I go there I have a hard time finding the things that it want. It isn't well organized and some of the stuff is locked up which is quite frustrating because you have to look for someone to unlock it. Came by here looking for some Giants clothing gear for the up coming game a few months ago (why shop at Wal-Mart for fan gear you ask? Because the pricing would probably much cheaper than buying it directly from the stadium, especially on game day, duh!). Well it should have not come as a surprised that the selection of Giants apparel was rather slim. Honestly, I was hoping for the prices to be cheaper as well, but since it was the official Giants apparel (according to the official tag), I suppose that was the reason for the price. But anyways, my husband was interested in purchasing a hat in the men's section. This particular hat was of interest to him because of the backing. It did not have Velcro on the back like the other ones that were on the sales floor. The only problem about trying to purchase this hat was that it was on a display that was placed on a very high rack. When we asked a sales associate to help us get it down so we could purchase it, she told us that they are not allowed to sell display items (Although this hat was not on a mannequin, I suppose they considered it to be on display), so we were not allowed to purchase it. Honestly I don't understand what the big deal when I have shopped at Kohl's and Target where they let me purchase the clothing items off the mannequin if that particular item is the last one in it's size. So that reason for not selling it to us seemed pretty lame. But oh well, we ended up going to the Giant's game with clothing that was fan-less (I suppose I should be happy since my wallet was not lighter after leaving Wal-Mart). Other than that particular incident, this Wal-Mart seemed to be pretty standard as all the other Wal-Mart stores that I have shopped in. Everything was actually neat and kept well in the store aisles. Have no real complaints of this store overall. Also there is plenty of parking in the parking lot. read more

I got my eye exam somewhere else but came here to buy my glasses b/c the frames at my eye doctors were too expensive. I did some shopping around and came back to this place. They can get really busy as it's inside the Walmart. The staff is polite, not overly friendly or anything. Very affordable frame prices and a pretty good selection but nothing high end expensive which is what I was looking for. You can come here for your eye exam as they do have a doctor on site. read more

First Visit: Holy Mother of Planet Express Ship this stuff is CHEAP. I mean pretty damn cheap. I found only one or two items that were a few cents more expensive than Target. I'm going to go here all the time! Second Visit: OK this was my fault. I watched South Park's parody of Walmart and assumed that all Walmarts were open 24 hours. WRONG. They close @ 10PM. Damn. Drove all the way from SF and was turned away at the door. Third, Fourth, Fifth Visit: Alright, I'm getting fed up now. OK, so the prices are still rather good. I can always visit Target for some *rest-assured* price items after. But the LINES. THE LINES. Also a (not-so-smart) looking girl behind me saying something along the lines of "dammmmn why are de lines sooo long. it's not like anyones going back to school or anything" Keep in mind, this is a few days after public school started and about a week before UCs/CSUs start. Walmart's prices aren't bad. Their employees tried to be helpful. But their lines and the (low) class people they attract are downright shameful. Long lines that should be supplemented with better (or more) workers. This has potential but I'm already feeling like I never want to come here again. read more

Friendly employees and stressed out cashiers. Stuff here is no longer all made in China. I've seen numerous items made in Latin America and our good ole USA. Some of the T-shirt brands carried here are Faded Glory, White Stag, and Hanes; there are lots of colors to choose from. This store has spills all over the place and the aisles are a mess. Lots of people don't watch where they are going. Not a place to wear nice shoes if you can help it. They carry Milani cosmetics and Burt's Bees. They do have an express lane for 10 items or less, which helps. My wait in the express lane was 20 minutes but the regular lines were much worse. A number of cashiers thanked shoppers for their patience. Parking lot is a zoo and sketchy. Lots of panhandlers wandering about. And some shoppers ask other shoppers out in the parking lot. As I was coming out of the store, I saw a driver slam into a parked car and drive off. I park by Kohl's and walk to Walmart because the parking lot right in front of Walmart has a lot of drivers who don't look where they're going. Great bargains, and with Target across the street you're bound to get everything you need between the two stores. read more

I usually come here for home goods. But every once in a while I'll find a few, good priced, grocery items. Walmart will always be crowded, so just bring your patience. It can be a bit messy and disorganized. But just make your way through the aisles. The annoying part about this Walmart is the people hanging out at the Exit doors. The clerk at the electronic counter didn't know what a pay as you go cell phone was, and referred me to the cell counter (the phones were actually out on the floor). Love Walmart! Love the prices! Maria in the jewelry department rocks the ear piercing gun! She did my second ear piercings about a year ago and she did my third ear piercings this evening. All I can say is that she has an eye for it. She even does her only little type measurements. I'm pleased with her work. Earring packets range in price from $5 - $30 (cheap), which includes the earrings, piercing & small bottle of ear care antiseptic. The earrings I picked out today were 14K gold cz studs, ah very nice bling and the price was very bling bling lovely at a blingin price of 25 blingin bucks. Of course when I was getting my ears pierced several people were drawn to this crowd stimulating event. I sucked it up and didn't flinch nor grimmice even though it hurt like heck. It was like no big deal, I got up and I could see the stunned faces of the curious on lookers. So if you're going to get your ears pierced at Walmart in Mountain View, ask for Maria in the jewelry department. She won't disappoint. She may hurt you for a minute but she won't disappoint you I can tell ya that. read more

The Speedy Checkout line (for 12 items or less) is filled with people with a full cart of groceries and none of the cashier seem to care about it, they also double charge me on one of the item, too bad I dont notice it until I get home so I think I just lost that money. WalMart may have better price than most retailers but still cant beat Costco, and the money I save does not wroth all the wait and frustration I have experienced, I hope Costco would carry Mobil1 oil for European car again so I dont have to go this place anymore. read more

Parking SUUUUUUUUCKS. My lady always tries to park on top of the place. When I park,I park all the way out by Game Stop.That saves a good 5 minutes.I got no problem walking it.Better than waiting for the millions of people on foot trying to get inside or flocking back to their cars. The place is usually packed after 10 in the morning and is usually packed with a good amount of hottie,btw.Which gives it the extra one star.No.j/k.The hotties are prevalent,but the extra star comes from the cheap DVDs and Blu Rays I was able to get on my last visit.Got Jaws and Jaws 2 on DVD for $5 each.HalloweeN 4 and 5 on DVD for $5,The Condemned for $8 on Blu Ray,and Cabin Fever also on Blu Ray for $10. I always seem to end up here and then remember why I hate it. Lines are long, the aisles are always crowded, there is no one around to help and everything is alwaysed messed up. I know it's hard to keep a store that sized organized and clean with that many people and that KIND of people. You know who you are. People who rummage and make a mess, drop things and don't pick them up, or are just plain rude. I usually just grab what I need and get out through the garden center as fast as I can. read more

I enjoyed going to this location coming from North Valley San Jose visiting family. I really enjoyed the inside appearance like Target. Came here for an LG Optimus L9 case, none but a worker told me that and were probably also online. He said he has a phone case for the same or similar phone on eBay for five bucks. Decided to check and found a similar case for $6.39. And I decided to get that. Came here right before closing. It had many boxes and pallets. I'm not sure if it's normal or not. I definitely enjoyed my first visit here, looks better than the Wal-Mart on 777 Story Road in SJ. read more

I would give this place zero stars, if I could. My son's car broke down and he needed a replacement battery. My husband and I were out of state and purchased a battery on the Walmart website. The website said he could pick up the battery at 3:27pm that day at the Mountain View store. My son calls me around 4:30pm and says they have the item but that they don't know how to process the item because they have to process online orders in the order they were received. He told me he spoke to an assistant manager and she told him "cancel the order online and pay for it". My son explained that he had no money and that we did it this way because we were out of state. The assistant manager said" well, then you just gonna have to wait and you may not even get the item today". I called the store and spoke to a very nice young lady in customer service. I explained my situation and she tried her best to escalate my sons order. She said they were trying to figure out how to process the item so they could release it. Two hours later, my son has still not received his battery and I call the store again. I get the same nice young lady I talked to originally and she said she'll see how we can get this released. A woman named Anita gets on the phone and tells me she's the assistant manager. I told her that we were out of state and that my son is stranded. She said "cancel the order and have him pay for it". I said he's 18 and we did it this way because he doesn't carry credit cards. I asked her what else could we do ? She proceeded to talk over me and tell me how busy they were and she couldn't process his order before the other orders. I told her I understood they were busy but that my child is stranded and has no place he can go and is without money . She gave me no suggestions on another way to get this battery ( I.e. Western union, credit card over the phone, nothing ). I asked her to please listen to me and she just continued to talk over me and said she already spoke to my son and told him he needed to wait. I asked her if she could give me an eta? Today , tomorrow, the next day? She just kept talking and kept repeating herself. I told her very loudly " Please listen to me, I just need you to listen to me". She said we close out orders at 8pm and just wait for notification. I told her she was extremely rude, I would escalate this issue and there was no other reason to talk and hung up the phone. I understand they are "busy, very busy". But I needed help and she gave me nothing. I'm truly disgusted by the treatment she gave my son and myself. read more

looking for some christmas gifts. couldnt find these mini brands that all the kids are raging for. it said it was in stock but didnt see any. the guy who was working was super nice, told us the aisle, and even helped look for about 10 minutes. he went down other aisles as well. very helpful but no luck finding it. even tried looking online but it was in store only. ended up buying candy for the holidays. theres a mcdonalds in the front which i think is standard and a lot of stuff everywhere. you could get lost. a bit dirty but expected. when ordering online and picking up in store, its a breeze. in and out the way i like it. parking lot a bit of a mad house but just park further away and walk so you dont encounter anything. its part of a strip mall with lots of other stores and a target across the way. walmart will be walmart. this is the closest to the peninsula so i'll go when i have to. read more

Had a terrible experience ordering online for delivery and pickup at the Mountain View store. Ordered a TV on May 22, got an email notification it would be available for pickup on May 31. Got 2 subsequent notifications that the item was delayed twice. I tried calling the pickup line at the store and there was no answer every time I called. I spoke with a customer service a total of 3 times. The first time I called on June 5, I was told it would be escalated and someone would contact me within 2 days - no one contacted me. The second time I called on June 8, I spoke with a supervisor who said the problem was with Fedex holding the item at their location in Fremont and that someone would call me by the next day to give me status of the delivery. The THIRD time I called on June 9, I spoke with a representative, then a supervisor who explained to me the item was 'lost in transit' and that they could re-order it for delivery in another 5 DAYS or I could cancel and receive a refund! They said because of system limitations that they could not arrange for delivery to my home (which I requested because of the almost 2 week delay) so I finally decided to cancel the order and all I got for my trouble was a $25 discount code (if I spend $45). Terrible customer service and I have NO plans to order or shop at Walmart in the near future. read more

i purchased beard wash/dye. it was in a locked area, so employees refused to allow me to inspect the product until after i had paid for it. when i was ready to use it, i noticed the box was opened the protective seal was missing and half the product was gone. the next day, i returned to your mountain view, ca. store for an exchange. i was greeted by Ludy. Ludy was rude. i was unaware that customer service closed at 8pm while the store was still open. i arrived at 8:30 pm. Ludy started walking away from me and said "come back tomorrow" frustrated, i demanded a manager. she rolled her eyes, and knocked on the nearby door then said something on the radio while walking away from me. Ludy said nothing else to me. about 4 min later Norma, an assistant manager, arrived and i explained to her in detail about my issue. Norma immediately place all blame on me. "you bought this yesterday" was her reason for not wanting to honor my exchange. i explained to her that i usually check for protective seals on things like hygiene items, but since all simple things like shampoo, dye, deodorant are now locked, we can no longer check. the employees will not let us have the product while we shop we have to go to register #2 to pay prior to checking. Norma then says "we don't do returns on items that are locked behind the glass" i replied with " you sold me an item that your employees wouldn't let me check until i paid for it.... your store sold me an open item. that's unfair to me, i'm not hurting for its cost of $8. its the principal and your stores integrity i'm questioning" she responded with " it was locked, which means YOU opened it" i then questioned her employees which she immediately insisted that her associates aren't capable of stealing products. i'm assuming All of her employees are 100% honest (sarcasm). i then gave her various scenarios, of how this could have happened. ( during transport, or her employees failed to check for defective or opened products prior to placing them on the shelf. ) after my argument, she reluctantly went to grab another box and said " only just this once" she repeatedly reminded me that customer service was closed and gave me attitude when i asked her to check for the protective seal. in the end, i got my wish for an exchange however at what cost? i feel as Norma was calling me a liar through other means. the attitude Ludy and Norma welcomed me with, was very disappointing and unprofessional on behalf of Walmart. Norma, accusing me of fraudulent behavior, is beyond offensive.
