Walmart in general is kinda the GOAT honestly. I've been going to this particular location for the last few months now since I moved to the area. It's kind of a hit or miss; I've had good experiences and not-so-good experiences. No matter what time of the day you come here at, I swear this Walmart is always busy. I've never seen it slow on any day or any time. The parking can be kind of hectic because of this, too, but I usually just park in the back anyway to avoid it (gotta get my steps in). This Walmart is BIG and has everything a Walmart requires - food, clothes, toiletries, electronics, decor, seasonal stuff, etc. Sometimes I find their shelves empty and running out of a lot of stuff. Sometimes I find their shelves fully stocked, it's really up in the air when I come in. I've usually always had a good experience with the staff though; they're pretty helpful and nice. The worst experience I had was when my sister and I bought a TV here for our apartment. We bought a TV and had a good experience with the employees; however, when we opened up the TV at home there was a huge crack in it and it was not a workable TV because of it. We went back to customer service and it turns out they re-sold a returned, broken TV. They said it should have never been on their shelves. It was just a whole ordeal and took kinda long and then we had to buy another TV since that was the last one within the price range we were looking for. I've been to better Walmarts and I've been to worse, this one is okay if you're looking for simple items! read more

When you walk into this store, all the associates are on their cell phones and the manager Gio has an AirPod in and on his cell phone. Not sure what job pays us to have personal conversations while ignoring customers. North Lake wouldn't have long lines if the associates actually did their jobs. The Walmart in Northlake is a bit sketchy! My wife and I needed a few things for her 98 year old godmother who lives in a nearby senior residence. The parking lot looked like the exit area for a demolition derby! Many of the vehicles had pieces falling off or were duct taped in place! The parking lot appeared well maintained and lit but you might think twice if arriving after dark as you feel you are in a foreign country. The store was well stocked and the staff were helpful. The line for self checkout was confusing but helpful if you only have a few items. They Do Not Have Fresh Produce! So plan to another nearby store if you need fresh produce. Visiting this store was a real cultural experience, keep your head on a swivel and be careful! read more

I went in for a rather small list. Got most of it, however, when it came to trying to find a simple head of lettuce it was not happening... I walked and walked and walked the whole store looking for the produce and I couldn't find it. I proceeded to ask an employee where the produce was and was VERY shocked to hear there was no produce, no fresh meat, and I don't think I saw a deli or a bakery. I have never been in a store that doesn't have any of those things. So, if you're looking for produce or something fresh, this store doesn't have it. Dumpiest Walmart I've ever been in, miserable employees, when you ask someone for help it's never their department so they have to call for someone else that never shows up. If you go when it's dark outside it's a tad more dangerous. Stay safe. If you know what you're looking for and you know where it's at, great store. I was in line about 7:59 and was told by 8:00 maybe it was a minute or two later that they wouldn't let me or they couldn't let me do what I came to do because the center closed at 8:00. This Walmart is so awesome and somewhat organized. They are so convenient and always well-stocked, they really have everything that we need. Their products has a good pricing and also a reasonable prices. They have nice place and always clean, also they got best location. Their staff are so friendly and helpful, they help and assist me to find the things I was looking for. I got all the things I need in such a fair prices, and it is worth the cost. What a Godforsaken suckfest this place is. A lot has to be wrong with a place for me to give it such a low rating, but this Wal-Mart location prospers when it comes to retail store Hell. Talk about the Jekyll & Hyde of Wal-Marts. This place appears nice and harmless form the outside, but upon entering, mediocrity rears it's ugly head. First off, what is up with all the skid marks all over the floor throughout the store? It appears as though Evel Knievel came back to life and was practicing stunts all over that bitch. The floors look worse than my thighty whities would after trying to wipe with my left hand. They sell plenty of mops and cleaning products, but apparently none of the employees know how to use them. This place is always crowded, and with bad people usually. It doesn't stop there. The employees? Also bad. The store even discriminates against people with big feet. I thought it would be a good idea to look for some shoes for work, but judging by the selection, nobody has bigger than a size 10 shoe. That's just great. No really, it is. The positive:They've hired more staff, (I know they are gearing-up for Christmas). However, these "associates" were busy cleaning what the customers dropped on the floor, what customers mis-laid, what customers allowed their children to play with throughout the store... I have been doing a lot of online shopping and if something does not fit I send it back which means I have to go into the store. I went in there about a week and half ago and had the rudest customer service assistant ever. I had 3 different returns with 3 different bar codes and she was huffing and puffing and sighing the whole time. As she scanned the bar code to do the return I asked what the screen said and I handed her the item,I did it 3 times. Then yesterday which was Friday Dec 22 I sent my nephew their with a few returns to do the same thing and the same lady was there and refused to do the refund. I recently fell and fractured my hip and have a hard time getting around and half the time your electric carts don't work so he was doing my errands for me. This past Christmas I have spent over 500$ there for presents and she has been The Rudest Associate I encountered. Her name is Karen a young black lady. This Walmart is awful. They run out of very basic supplies (ie: toothpaste, soda, cleaning supplies) and are horribly slow to restock. You'll end up leaving the store without half the things you came in for. Other Walmart's don't seem to have this same issue. read more

You are to card the person buying alcohol with the transaction. If a group comes in you card the person paying if multiple people pay you card all people that are paying. Ugly balled head 70yr old making 15 an hour at 70 wanted to card a 17yr old girl buying just an air mattresses, blanket, and soap. She's my boyfriends niece she just need to get stuff. Then UBH70Yr old wanted to run to the manager and go off about how I was going off on her for treating me like a child talking about " I know how you kids are." Properly train your employees so they know the actually regulations and make sure they know how to watch their mouth I was done talking to her there is no point in here rambling on purposely trying to annoy people into getting more frustrated. I went there on today July 15, 2023. I went and tried to get a ride on mobile cart because I recently had spinal surgery. Got on the cart unplugged it turned it on it said 100%. I started to drive away and an associate said it didn't work. I stated that it said 100% he said it will stop on you. He then said it one over there and pointed, I said where as he's walking away. I begin to follow him asking where. Then I ask for a manager he says I can't call for a manager & there's not one here. I ask 3 more associate and they say they can't call for a manager and they do think one's there. I walk to customer service desk and ask call they call for a manager. She says there's not one here, but I'll call for a lead associate. I state I want a manager. She call a lead associate at approximately 11:30ish I waited 15 minutes no one still didn't show up. I ask for there corporate number. If this is how they treat people with disabilities I don't want to spend another dime in their company! How are you running a store with no manager to make the associates are doing what the supposed to do and holding them accountable for their actions. read more

It's a good place to find most of your grocery/home/health/beauty/office needs. There isn't much selection on fresh produces though (there is a farmers market super close!). I love walking around this Walmart and checking out the sales. But I would not recommend going to this Walmart after 9pm alone. It doesn't feel safe. Also this walmart added a lot more self checkouts and in my opinion this has dramatically reduced the long lines! (The lines might still be slow around 5pm-7pm since a lot of people tend to shop after work) read more

This Wal-Mart is ridiculous. It is always a mess. They've recently decided to put pallets of random inventory out in the middle of the aisles, so you can't pass other people. If you happen to be behind some ignorant customer who stops in the middle of the aisle with their shopping cart, you'll have to wait. The worst part about this Wal-Mart is the staff. Excluding those in the pharmacy, photo department, and textiles, everyone else generally has poor performance. You'll see them walking around when you don't need them, and when you do need them they're no where to be found. If you happen to find one, they can't tell you where to find marshmallows for the life of them. They seem to have very little knowledge of the store at all, as if they only stock items based on color. Then there's the cashiers, or lack there of. They have about 20+ cash registers in this store, and at any given time there may only be 4-5 registers open. All this while there's lines going down the crowded aisles, and other employees just standing around. It makes me think that this Wal-Mart does not train it's employees to handle money. If that wasn't bad enough, the self service check out line is poorly managed. They have about 6 stations, and recently, 3 of them would be broken. If you purchase something such as alcohol that requires approval, there wouldn't be anyone stationed to approve it. Overall, the store is overcrowded, understaffed with helpful employees, and the low savings isn't worth waiting all day to check out. Go to Target and spend 30c more on products. read more

What a trainwreck of a store this Walmart is. I made a horrible mistake of going there on a Saturday and when I saw the full parking lot, I should have just run... very far. I'd rather drive down Lawrence Ave. all the way to lake. That's how bad this place is. Why is it that the people of Walmart do not seem to know how to push their carts in a straight line? As in, not swerve right in front of an approaching patron? And why do the people of Walmart think that it's okay to walk slowly down the middle of the aisle, blocking you, only to suddenly change direction and crash into you? Then change their mind and, slowly, continue on? And finally, why do the people of Walmart use 5 different methods of payment in a single transaction? I figured out why Mark G saw skid marks all over the floor. It's from all the damn broken wheels on all the crappy carts. My sole purpose of going to Wal-Mart is to buy yarn. I hate Wal-Mart. I was on North Avenue so I decided to go to this one. I've gotta say - I like this Wal-Mart better than the one on Des Plaines and Roosevelt. It somehow seemed more put-together. It made me very happy when it had a far superior selection of yarn. I only intended on buying two skeins of black, but at $2 a pop for big, soft yarn, I loaded up on the rainbow of colors. I was so happy that I also bought some new knitting needles and some cooking sheers. Other than that, the employees were their usual unhappy, unhelpful-selves that you'd find at (I'm convinced) any Wal-Mart. Review strictly for the pharmacy, the slowest moving department in the whole store. Multiple times I've waited an hour or more for a refill on medications I order online for pick up. This time in particular, I came in at 10 am, waited over 30 minutes just to drop off the prescriptions. I was told 30-45 minute wait. Totally understandable, it's Friday and a lot of people are getting ready to leave town for the weekend. I went home, ate lunch and came back 1 hour and 15 minutes later, not ready yet. I've been told more than 4 times "Just 5 more minutes..." absolutely ridiculous. Another time, I had ordered 3 of my prescriptions online for pick up. I get to the store and hour after the scheduled time, just because I've been here before. I sort of know how long it takes. But, the pharmacy technician said she didn't fill them because my address didn't match the one on file. I do not understand how that happened, I haven't changed my address in 10+ years. So another hour I waited. The same "about 5 more minutes" every time I came back 10-15 minutes later. At this point I have the aisles and sales flyers memorized.
