Went to Marianos today for a quick dinner run. Found all my products very easily…read more Went to check out, one checker open and all the self-service lanes open. So basicly check yourself out. While I am capable, I don't want to be a checker or a bagger. There were 3 Mariano's employees helping customers check out in the self-service lanes. You really want to help - open a check out lane. I spoke to the manager, which I know she has no power to change anything but seriously Marianos - DO BETTER! I will take my business to Caputos, they still take care of customers.

The butcher YaYa is excellent and ground my chicken breast fresh and also packed it very nice so I didn't have to re-package it at home before freezing it. They have a great selection of spices and also several ethnic breads made fresh locally that you can't find at your regular grocery store. It took over the location where Walmart used to be. Now during this visit, I had no issues finding a parking spot. Since it shares space with the laundromat I occasionally visit, I could have easily just left my car there and walked right over to pick up my essentials. Inside, the atmosphere felt very relaxed. It was refreshing shopping here versus the Pete's Fresh Market across the street, which is always busy. The items shelved were organized, the market was acceptably clean, and the aisles had a decent amount of space between them. One thing that slightly irritated me, however, was when customers looked at items directly behind me, making it a tight squeeze for other shoppers walking past. Other than that, I loved that the aisles were clearly labeled with what items they contained, making it easy to find the products I typically purchase. I took a liking to the Bigelow green tea selections within the tea aisle, which consisted of a wide variety of choices. I do not believe I had ever encountered Matcha Green with Turmeric by Bigelow, which ended up being my purchase among the selections. In another aisle was a variety of Hispanic teas by the Tadin brand, which introduced me to flavors I was not previously aware of. I took a liking to the Passion Flower Tea but ended up opting out when I saw the Canelita (Cinnamon Tea Blend) because cinnamon tea is a flavor I have been actively looking for. As of late, I have been pairing either cinnamon sticks or cloves with my green tea, which has been an addictive combination. There were many great sales on protein bars, which were listed as "buy 5, save $5." I took a liking to many nutrition bars from brands like Fiber One and Junkless. However, once I saw the flavors by the Cooper Street brand, I was totally interested in purchasing them. I am quite positive that when I return to Tony's Fresh Market, I will be looking for this brand, which is a woman-owned business. I purchased the Chocolate Cherry flavor, which was loaded with real fruit and grains such as flax, chia, quinoa, buckwheat, and oats. Compared to Pete's Fresh Market, there was a very small selection of plant-based items in the freezer section, and they were mixed in with the meat selections. Eek! I will leave that alone, but if I needed some of my plant-based favorites, I would likely not look at Tony's. I was so grateful to see self-checkout open during this visit. I had a handful of items and did not have the patience to wait in a long line. Because Tony's Fresh Market is in an area I frequent, I am quite positive I will visit again whenever I need regular groceries. The items that will lure me back are the tea and nutrition bars, and possibly some produce or frozen foods, depending on what I need.
