Now I'm thinking maybe they weren't so bad after dealing with this place! I wasn't going to even say anything but their continued lack of professionalism is really starting to annoy the crap out of me. I called in a script today for a refill. Went there about 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, about two hours later. I actually left work real quick to go get it. I went through the drive-thru. "It's not ready yet. I can expedite it and have it ready in about 15 minutes." Huh? We're busy, blah blah blah. You are acting like you are doing me a favor when I left work to come get something that was supposed to be ready and it isn't! Then she says she can have it ready before closing at 9:30. Huh? No apologies or anything, just excuses. My first encounter of filling a script here was about a month ago. I was the first one in line. I handed the person a coupon for my medication. They had already run it through with my insurance and they said I would need to wait another 15 minutes because they would need to run it through without insurance and there are other people waiting. I even called before I went there to verify that this coupon would be acceptable. So I have to wait because you messed up? I was first in line for Pete's sake. Get outta here with this! Worst pharmacy ever for customer service!

Each year I typically make the mistake of waiting until mid-December to buy…read morewrapping paper and ribbon for Christmas, inevitably sorting through the picked over things remaining or heading to the Hallmark aisle to be thoroughly fleeced. Today I thought I'd get a head start; after all, Christmas decorations are going up across town. This is the "better" of the two CVS stores in Bethlehem (apparently Price Chopper has managed to squeeze out any further viable competition.) I noticed some Christmas bling when I entered the store and headed to where the season items normally are located but nothing appeared to be consistently filled with items for any one season. And, the two aisles where one finds such things were blocked. Boxes were dumped in the middle of the aisles around which you had to navigate; other sections were reducted to narrow corridors with unopen or partially opened boxes precariously stacked on top of each other. My immediate thought was that this was a definite danger to a small child or a older person. There were some items on the shelves; others were laying randomly on the floor in heaps. I then noticed Halloween decor and candy that was still on the shelves or under the few Christmas items that had been tossed on top of them. My immediate thought was that this is partly the impact of the unloaded container ships in west coast and southern harbors; I tried to be generous and thought perhaps the clutter (actually downright mess) was due to hiring issues that are confronting retail. I tried, without success, to find open boxes of what I was hoping to find (I succeeded in opening one and finding white issue paper) but otherwise was unsuccessful. While searching I went around the obstructed aisle and for a moment made eye contact with the manager walking unhurriedly past me and clearly not interested in being asked any questions. As I watched him it was clear he wasn't busy and wasn't worried about things to get done. I then noted other employees; there were other customers in the store, but it wasn't a situation where all hands needed to be at the registers. It required considerable effort for me to find a few things, which I chose to buy because one can't be certain with the current transport issues that preferable items will arrive in time for Christmas. What I settled for was far worse than what you'd traditionally find on sale after the holidays. It occurred to me that opening to clear the mess before store hours would get the clutter cleared, the Halloween items of the way, and the stock in the partially and unopened boxes on the shelves. But, that would mean someone cared. It's evident that the issues here aren't lack of stock, and there are a sufficient number of employees to maintain the store; this is a management issue. Again, this makes me worry that people entrust this store with their prescriptions. This is a shame because the facility is newer, pretty clean, has great parking and is located in strategically optimal location. It's simply not being managed and the result is a borderline disaster. Something must be up with CVS; the three I've been in recently are all a disaster; I sense the company is being sucked dry by an equity firm and is going to be dumped. My experiences have made me sorely miss Walgreens (something I never imagined.) As I won't set foot in a Walmart for anything, it's evident I'll need to head into Albany to find seasonal items. Quite a shame; quite the fall in a once decent to dependable retail location.

I figured I'd just refill my prescription using the automated phone line. Did that and it said my prescription would be filled by 3:45 same day. Before leaving the house, I called again to make sure it was ready before making the trip there, as I live 30 minutes away, but again, hung up on. I got to the pharmacy at 4:30 and the attendant let me know, in a very short manner, "We don't have anything here for you." I let them know the automated system said it would be ready for pick up by 3:45, to which they responded "well we need an order from the doctor." Shame on the automated system for its error in ETA and shame on the employees at the pharmacy for not answering not one of my six calls. This trip could have been prevented and I could have reached out to my doctor before their offices closed had I known. I'm going out of state tomorrow morning before the pharmacy opens and now I'll have to wait a week to pick up. Someone's needs to be educated on how to do their job, especially when they're dealing with people's medications.

Really well organized CVS. This one is gargantuan…read more This CVS has everything. All the isles are well lain out and have massive amount of goods on the shelves. So much, the goods are falling off them. There are numerous entrances. Three check-out counters. The CVS folks that work at this location have always been very friendly and helpful in all ways and in all manners. Once, I needed a sheet of paper and they were able to come up with it for me. Check-out is brisk and accurate! The drinks and freezer section does seem to be in perpetual disrepair and it needs more attention for sure (take note staff). Locals that work around this CVS must buy-out all the gatorades, waters and sodas. It's ransacked. Other than that, this CVS is very great. They stay open late in the PM hours when other CVS close early in the evening. There is a separate section for letters and cards, beauty, shampoo, drugs, snacks, summer shopping and even chocolates/candy/chips. That said: can we get an isle for men only? Every time I come to any CVS - and I mean any CVS - half the stores are for babies and women. I spend ten minutes shopping only to find out there is no protein shakes, no beer and the men's shampoo is SOLD OUT! I am sick and tired of 'sheconomy'... Do better for male shoppers CVS, or my next review will be a 1 star. Review: 5

For the record, I'm a middle-aged white woman. I can't imagine what it must be like to shop there as a minority. That incident alone would be enough to keep me out of the store, but sadly there's more. Like most drug stores today, everything you would typically go to a drug store to buy is locked up behind plexiglass. There are signs everywhere talking about cameras, and the general vibe is that there is no possibility that anyone who isn't a criminal would ever have reason to enter the store. I was there to buy some packing tape, which they sell for around $15 a roll. At that price I could have paid to had it shipped overnight from Amazon. It's sad, because CVS used to be a normal store. I will never enter one again for any reason.
